Current biozonations based on Santonian-Campanian (Late Cretaceous) planktonic foraminiferal bioevents do not provide a high stratigraphic resolution, when compared to other time intervals. The foraminiferal fauna recorded from the Arnager Greensand, Arnager Limestone and Bavnodde Greensand formations of Bornholm, Denmark are described herein. These formations range in age from Early Albian to Middle Santonian. The succession contains major breaks in deposition. A new foraminiferal biozonal scheme is presented, comprising six local assemblage biozones. These are compared to foraminiferal zonal schemes proposed for other areas of Northwest Europe. This dissertation explores the combination of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) results with field data to provide additional constraints on the processes controlling deformation signals observed at Galeras volcano (Colombia) and Santorini volcano (Greece). InSAR measurements during 2007-2008 at Galeras reveal a subsidence signal on its northeast flank. Ce memoire traite de la biosedimentologie de la formation de la cadiere, var. Cette formation peut etre subdivisee en cinq unites lithostratigraphiques constituees principalement de couches de calcaire a rudistes. Toutefois, on observe des variations laterales des facies dont les relations sont precisees et synthetisees grace a une analyse sequentielle. On montre que les sequences elementaires s'inscrivent dans une sequence de comblement. L'analyse des microfacies sur le plan sedimentologique et paleoecologique permet d'envisager la reconstitution des paleoenvironnements et de leur evolution.

The microcrystalline vitric mass of Pliocene volcanic tuffs of Santorini and Polyegos islands, in the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, has been replaced by authigenic zeolites and clays. The Santorini tuffs are dominated by heulandite type 2 and 3, the classification based on thermal tests, illite/smectite phases, and mordenite, opal-CT, cristobalite, feldspar, quartz and amphibole.
