Abstract:
Artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa guru-guru di PAUD Santa Familia Labuan Bajo kurang kreatif untuk membuat media pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran Big Book. Media Big Book merupakan sebuah buku cerita yang berkarakteristik khusus dengan ukurantulisan atau teks dan gambar yang besar,serta jumlah halaman yang tidak banyak. Media pembelajaran Big Book sebagai salah satu media yang dapat digunakan guru untuk mengembangkan tema ke dalam sub tema dan sub-sub tema yang disertai dengan gambarannya masing-masing. Buku ini penuh dengan warna-warni, hiasan-hiasan dan memiliki kata yang dapat diulang-ulang, memiliki pola teks yang sederhana, memiliki gambar sesuai dengan teks yang ada, dan alur cerita yang disajikan mudah ditebak. Media Big book berperan sebagai alat bantu dan strategi bagi guru dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM ini terdiri dari pelatihan dan pendampingan yang meliputi empat (4) tahapan kegiatan, yaitu : perencanaan program, pelaksanaan program, observasi dan evalusi program, serta refleksi. Kegiatan PkM yang berlangsung pada tanggal 7,8 dan 15 November 2019 ini difasilitasi oleh tim Dosen dan para mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru PAUD Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng. Mitra utama kegiatan PkM ini adalah para guru di PAUD Santa Familia Labuan Bajo. Kegiatan PkM ini telah membantu para guru di PAUD Santu Familia Labuan Bajo supaya kreatif dalam membuat Big Book sebagai salah satu media yang dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran

Abstract:
Self Directed Learning is the actions taken by which the students independently take initiative to assess their own learning needs, set up learning goals with implementation of appropriate strategies and evaluate learning outcome. This study aims to find out how Students of Nursing at Unika Santu paulus Ruteng, Flores implement self Directed Learning in learning English for Specific Purposes (ESP). It’s mixed method research combining the use of quantitative and qualitative study. For the purpose of quantitative study, it’s used total sampling. Therefore, all 6th semester students numbered 32 were chosen as the samples of the research. Meanwhile for the purpose of qualitative study, it’s chosen 6 students taken purposively. The research result showed that most students of Nursing Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng 23 (71.9%) implemented medium Self Directed Learning in learning English for Specific Purpose (ESP). It’s furthermore supported by the findings of qualitative study which was elaborated and described based on Self Directed Learning processes namely 1) self learning awareness, 2) planning to learn, 3) learning goal, 4) being discipline to learn, 5) self confident, 6) hard working to learn, and 7) originality. The findings would be the suggestions for school authorities in particular English teacher to plan for applying Self Directed Learning in learning English for Specific Purpose at Nursing Study program Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng, Flores. By knowing earlier the concept and how to apply SDL, students of Nursing have a free will to implement it in learning English.Keywords: SDL, learning English, ESP, nursing students

Artikel ini mendeskripsikan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim katekese Program Studi Pendidikan Teologi Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng. Katekese dilakukan sebagai pendidikan iman bagi umat pada Komunitas Basis Gerejawi dalam rangka Tahun Penggembalaan, Keuskupan Ruteng. PkM dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya kegiatan pembinaan umat yang menjangkau seluruh umat di Paroki Santa Maria Assupta. Masalah ini terjadi karena minimnya tenaga pastoral dan keterbatasan sumber daya lainnya. Padahal, umat membutuhkan penyegaran iman, tambahan pengetahuan dan penguatan satu sama lain, khususnya dalam rangka mengisi Tahun Penggembalaan yang dicananangkan oleh Keuskupan Ruteng. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim PkM adalah melaksanakan kegiatan katekese umat. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode “lonto leok” atau musyawarah tukar menukar pengalaman iman umat. Hasilnya umat memiliki peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran mengenai Tuhan sebagai Gembala dan umat dapat saling menguatkan iman satu sama lain. Kesimpulannya PkM ini berhasil membantu mengatasi masalah umat setempat. Saran lanjutannya adalah agar kegiatan ini lebih sering dilakukan dan perlu adanya pembaharuan tema, pengetahuan dan metode demi memeroleh hasil yang lebih memuaskan.

Wilayah Indonesia berada pada dua iklim tropis yang berbeda, yaitu: iklim tropis cancer dan tropis capricornus. Kota Manado berada pada koordinat 1.4748oLU, 124.8421oBT (iklim tropis cancer). Bentuk bangunan kolonial pada wilayah tropis cancer dan tropis carpricornus berbeda bentuk. Tiga bangunan bersejarah yang bergaya arsitektur kolonial Belanda, yaitu: Minahasa Raad, gereja Santu Ignatius Don Bosco dan bangunan rumah tinggal milik keluarga J. Sondakh, telah berusia lebih dari 50 tahun berada pada wilayah kota lama Manado (pusat kegiatan perkotaan tua). Penggunaan material bangunan yang ringan, memiliki bentuk atap limas yang tinggi dengan overstek atap lebih lebar dari pada bagunan-bangunan pada zona iklim tropis carpricornus, memiliki kapasitas termal rendah yang memungkinkan pendinginan cepat di malam hari pada wilayah iklim tropis. Dinding-dinding memiliki bukaan dan ventilasi silang serta memiliki pelindung matahari dan hujan. Data primer diperoleh dengan cara survei (pengukuran dan penggambaran kembali), kemudian melakukan analisis terhadap elemen-elemen pembentuk bangunan yang tanggap terhadap iklim tropis. Bangunan Minahasa Raad memiliki bentuk atap pelana, peneduh sinar matahari dan hujan serta bukaan pada dinding sedangkan gereja Santu Ignatius memiliki atap pelana, sun shading serta cross ventilatian, demikian pula dengan bangunan rumah tinggal kel. J. Sondakh, namun memiliki bentuk atap kombinasi perisai dan pelana yang tinggi.

Background: Pandemik COVID-19 telah menyebabkan umat beragama kesulitan melaksanakan ibadah bersama di rumah-rumah ibadah. Masalah yang sama juga dialami umat Katolik di Paroki Santu Mikhael Kumba di Manggarai, Keuskupan Ruteng. Sejak 21 Maret sampai 12 Juni 2020, Paroki tidak melayani ibadah di Gereja. Akibatnya banyak umat mengalami kekosongan rohani. Namun sejak masa adaptasi normal pemerintah mengijinkan ibadah di rumah ibadah asalkan dijalankan sesuai protokol kesehatan. Untuk memastikan pelaksanaan ibadah dimana adaptasi baru berjalan baik, dibutuhkan tim yang membantu menyiapkan kebijakan pelaksanaan ibadah, mengedukasi umat, dan memastikan ibadah berjalan sesuai dengan protokol kesehatan. Untuk itulah, Tim Gugus Tugas Covid-19 berperan mengatasi persoalan dan kebutuhan ini. Metode: Adapun metode dan petahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Tim ini adalah: persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan feedback. Metode ini sifatnya siklus yang berulang. Persiapan mencakup perumusan kebijakan, sosialisasi dan edukasi model dan tata cara ibadah di masa normal baru. Pelaksanaan mencakup kegiatan melaksanakan ibadah sesuai protokol kesehatan. Evaluasi adalah penilaian keberhasilan dan dampak kegiatan. Feedback adalah memberikan input perbaikan pada siklus sebelumnya untuk diterapkan pada siklus berikutnya. Hasil: Hasil yang diperoleh ialah dengan kegiatan ini Paroki dan umat bisa melaksanakan ibadah sesuai protokol kesehatan. Umat bisa memeroleh hak ibadah sekaligus protokol kesehatan sekaligus. Kesimpulan: peran Tim Satgas Covid-19 sangat signifikan untuk melayani umat di Paroki Santo Mikhael Keuskupan Ruteng.

The data analysis which is being used in this research is t sample.This research shows the counting t is higher than t tabel. T counting is 5,826 is higher than t tabel 1,688. It means there is different study result between the college student who attend the conventional class and the college student who attend the PHRKK. Furhtermore, this different shows in average of the the result study of conventional study which is 67,08 comparing to average college student PHRKK which is 68,39., the counting t is higher than t tabel. T counting is 5,826 is higher than t tabel 1,688. It means there is different study result between the college student who attend the conventional class and the college student who attend the PHRKK class on the topic of Uji Komparasi Sampel Dependent.

Konservasi merupakan salah satu realisasi perkembangan anak yang menyatakan bahwa sesuatu tetap konstan/konsisten meskipun ditempatkan dalam berbagai posisi dan permukaan wadah yang berbeda-beda. Hasil Penelitian pada 20 Sekolah Dasar di Kabupaten Manggarai menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan konservasi liquid dan substansi anak-anak usia 6-8 tahun masih sangat rendah. Anak-anak pada usia tersebut masih berada pada tahap operasional konkret. Oleh karena itu, cara yang bisa dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut adalah permainan. Permainan yang digunakan bersifat interaktif dan berkarakter dengan memanfaatkan permainan yang biasa mereka lakukan sehari-hari misalnya permainan ular tangga dan permainan kartu domino. Permainan dimodifikasi sedemikian rupa sehingga menjadi permainan Interaktif berkarakter. Agar bisa menjangkau anak-anak dari Sekolah Dasar yang bervariasi, maka kegiatan ini dilakukan di salah satu kelompok Basis Gereja, yaitu KBG Santu Fransiskus. KBG ini berada dalam sebuah Paroki yang biasanya melakukan kegiatan keagamaan. Sehingga kegiatan Permainan Interaktif berkarakter dilakukan secara terintegrasi dengan kegiatan keagamaan seperti renungan kitab suci, belajar lagu rohani dan doa bersama. Kegiatan dengan menggunakan permainan ini tidak hanya untuk anak usia 6-8 tahun, tapi juga untuk yang berusia 9 tahun. Kemampuan konservasi yang ingin ditingkatkan pun tidak hanya liquid dan substansi, tapi juga pada kemampuan konservasi panjang.

Abstract:
<em>Classroom interaction emphasizes on the effectiveness of the students participation in the dialogue, and finally improving the ability of speaking. It involves all participants; teacher, learners and learning sources. There are some different purpose of using speaking. Each purpose implies knowledge of the rules that account for how spoken language reflects the context in which the speech occurs (Richard and Renandya, 2002:201). The study aims at finding out how classroom interaction employed in speaking class at SMA Santu Fransiskus Ruteng, Flores. It’s used mixed method combining the use of descriptive quantitative and qualitative study design with phenomenological approach. It’s used random sampling, with 45 students taken as the samples. Meanwhile, employing a qualitative research design and phenomenological approach, the data for this study are mostly collected through interview completed by observation and documentation. For the purpose of deep interview, the participants are 1 English teacher and 4 students taken purposively. The study showed that 1) there is one aspect of classroom interaction mostly categorized as high level of implementation; Response and Asks Questions (28=62.2%). Data of interviewed confirmed that students needs appreciation for learning progress or achievement they may make. It encourages them to be more active and participative. 2) Feelings acceptance, praises or encouragement, and ideas use or acceptance implementation (40=88.9%) and giving directions, criticisms or authority justification (38=84.4%) were mostly in the category of medium level. Meanwhile, initiation was mostly in the category of low level (24=53.3%). Data of interview confirmed that low initiation is caused by students learning habit. Most students do the activities of learning English when English teacher fosters them to learn. It’s in the form of quiz, assignment, mid test or final test. Leaning is merely conducted to improve and increase English score. Other activities such as memorizing vocabularies, writing stories, answering questions based on the passages, building up sentences and other classroom activities designed are done under teacher’s control and design. In the next phase, students find it difficult to accomplish complex tasks. They are only able to accomplish simple tasks. Learning autonomy which is oriented to build up speaking ability hardly ever done. To this extend, English teacher pay more attention to the topic chosen in teaching learning processes. It determines whether the students initiate interaction or not.</em>

AbstractThe empire of visuality is said to have eyes everywhere, but what are the consequences for embodied locality in terms of this omnipresence? How do the objects that fall prey to the gaze of the empire engage with its petrifying gaze? By exploring the photography of the Brazilian Mário de Andrade, the Frenchman Marc Garanger and the South African photographer Santu Mofokeng, the challenge to the gaze of the empire is discussed. The Barthesian distinction between the categories of studium and punctum is utilised to unpack the possibilities of embodied localities that confront and engage the gaze of the empire differently.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research to describe the using of image media to improve science learning result in thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City. This research uses class actions research methods. The data sources are 25 students. The results showed that: (1) teacher’s skill in the first cycle are 87,5% with good criteria and in second cycle obtained 90,65% with very good criteria; (2) student activity in the first cycle are 73,75% with the criteria of active enough and in second cycle obtained 78,13% with active criteria; (3) student learning result in the first cycle 52% and the second cycle 84%. Suggestions in this researh was that using of image media could become as a teacher’s solution to improve the quality of natural science learning and they have to study the using learning methods, models and media to give learning spirit for the students.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan tahap penggunaan media gambar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA di sekolah dasar khususnya di SD Katolik 13 Santu Paulus Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswa kelas V SD Katolik 13 Santu Paulus Manado pada Tahun Akademik 2018/2019 untuk 25 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah tes, wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: keterampilan dalam siklus I 87,5 % dengan kriteria baik dan pada siklus II 90,65 % dengan kriteria bai. Aktivitas siswa dalam siklus I 73,75% dengan kriteria cukup aktif dan dalam siklus II 78,13% dengan kriteria aktif. Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I 52% dan siklus II 84%. Adapun saran dalam penelitian ini adalah penggunaan media gambar dapat dijadikan solusi dari pendidik untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dan guru harus belajar menggunakan metode, model dan media pembelajaran untuk memberikan semangat belajar bagi siswa-siswa.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan taktik bermain yang di padukan dengan permainan lempar tangkap bola dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan minat sepak bola mahasiswa kelas IF PGSD STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng. Berdasarkan data hasil tes pada siklus I rata-rata nilai mahasiswa secara klaksikal megalami peningkatan yaitu terlihat dari pratindakan 30 orang (50,84%) naik menjadi 39 orang (67%) pada siklus I dan pada siklus II menjadi 45 orang (76%) yang tuntas/lulus dengan mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum yaitu 60. PAUL RUTENG IN PLAYING FOOTBALL THROUGH THE TACTICAL APROACH Abstract This research aims to seek the increasing result of the students’ learning process in the first grade at PGSD (Elementary School Teacher Education) of STKIP St. Paul Ruteng through the tactical games approach. This research is a kind of Classroom Action Research which consists of two cycles by using Kemmis & MC. Taggart’s design. The research result shows that the tactical games approach which is combined with throwing-catching of ball play can increase the learning result and the interest in playing football for the 1F-class students at PGSD of STKIP St. Paul Ruteng. Based on the test result at first cycle, the average score of the students, is increasing classically which is shown by pre-action, namely 30 students (50.84%) becoming 39 students (67%) at first cycle, and then at second cycle it has been 45 students (76%) who have graduated/passed by reaching the minimum score criteria namely 60. Oleh karena itu, tim PKM dari program studi pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng mengadakan kegiatan pengabdian untuk melatih siswa di sekolah tersebut. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan kemampuan menulis teks naratif dengan menggunakan media gambar berseri. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan PKM ini adalah presentasi dan simulasi atau latihan. Abstract:
This study explored students’ independent learning during the Learning from Home Period within this covid 19 outbreak. This study was conducted at the Faculty of Health Science and Agriculture Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng, Flores covering four study majors. In order to obtain the objective of the research, it’s used qualitative studies with a phenomenological approach. Data were obtained through interviews. For the purpose of individual interviews, it’s chosen 12 respondents consisting of 8 students and 4 teachers taken purposively. The research results showed that 1) Students use books, modules, portable computers, and mobile phones as the media to apply independent learning. Certain teachers use online applications such as Goggle Classroom, Email, Whats app, and websites to engage students with internet learning instruments. Dealing with learning sources, students use files in the form of PPT, PDF, a word containing the materials, learning videos, notes, google, youtube, assignments distributed by teachers, and some other materials gained by the students themselves from the internet. 2) Students haven’t possessed time management skills. They don’t provide a specific time to learn the materials they obtain from teachers. They only used the learning schedule provided by the campus. 3) Teachers play most of their roles as instructors and facilitators. As instructors, teachers provided some instructions through materials or subject matters to be learned by the students. Moreover, students are asked or instructed to complete certain assignments within the time limit set up through the learning application used. Meanwhile, as facilitators, teachers provided opportunities for the students to discuss and ask questions through an online application provided. Even, certain questions asked through WhatsApp answered directly by the teachers. 4) There are some advantages and obstacles that could be the policymakers and school authority concerns in order to promote optimal self-learning during this covid-19 outbreak.

Oleh karena itu, tim Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng mengadakan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan memberdayakan para ibu rumah tangga kelompok basis gereja Santu Lukas Poco melalui pengolahan sumber daya lokal. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan potensi para ibu rumah tangga. Program ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu observasi, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap para ibu rumah tangga dalam menambah penghasilan keluarga. Para ibu rumah tangga menjadikan bolu pisang sebagai camilan natal dan usaha untuk menambah pendapatan mereka. This program has a positive effect on housewives in increasing family income. The housewives who use banana cake as a Christmas snack are trying to increase their income. One of them is through traditional games. Traditional games are local games that are usually played by children as a way to gather, communicate and interact with one another. This study aims to determine whether traditional games can help social development of children specifically aged 5-6 years. The object of research is children aged 5-6 years and teachers who teach traditional games in PAUD St. Yosef Langke Rembong. The research method used is descriptive analytical of the results of direct observation when children play traditional games and interviews with teachers. The results showed that the traditional games taught and played by children at the age of 5-6 years at the PAUD St. Yosef can help improve children's social development.

Kegiatan pengolahan susu kedelai diawali dengan penyampaian materi tentang gizi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan metode pengolahan susu kedelai dan mempraktikkan cara pengolahannya. This research aims to determine the effect of using an android application compared to conventional teaching materials on Trigonometry courses on the mathematical communication skills of student candidates regarding personality type. The research method was used quasi-experiment with the population of first grade at Department of Mathematics Education of STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng and the sample was taken from 2 classes. Data were through by questionnaires and mathematical communication test which were then analyzed by two-way ANOVA test. Data analysis and interpretation showed that: (1) students who were taught using the help of Android-based teaching materials had better mathematical communication skills than students taught conventionally; (2) there was an interaction between learning media and personality type on mathematical communication skills. The findings point to recommendations that the use of appropriate instructional media could be used to improve students' mathematical communication skills and would facilitate the learning process of mathematics.

Kegiatan ini dilakukan kepada guru-guru matematika SMP di kabupaten Manggarai Timur. Tujuannya adalah agar mereka dapat memahami apa itu HOTS serta bagaimana menyusun soal HOTS. Metode pelaksanaan program adalah melakukan pelatihan berupa pengenalan HOTS, cara menyusun soal HOTS, dan menelaah soal-soal yang dihasilkan oleh para guru. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan lima dosen yang berasal dari program studi pendidikan matematika STKIP Santu Paulus. Hasil dari penelaan soal menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta memahami apa itu HOTS dan berhasil menyusun soal HOTS sesuai dengan prosesur penyusunan soal HOTS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara minat belajar dengan resiliensi matematis siswa dalam menerapkan flipped classroom pada masa pandemi covid-19. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian merupakan seluruh siswa kelas XI TKJ di SMK Informatika Santu Petrus Ruteng tahun ajaran 2020/2021 berjumlah 124 siswa, sedangakan sampel diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 55 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana dengan untuk menghitung signifikansi regresi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi diperoleh persamaan Ŷ = 46.04 + 0.56X t_hitung = 11.62 dan t_tabel = 2.00 maka H_o: ρ = 0 ditolak dan H_1: ρ> 0 diterima. Ini berarti, koefesien regresi (b = slope = 0.56) sangat signifikan. Sementara itu besarnya kontribusi variabel X terhadap Y yaitu r ^ 2 x 100% = (0.8474512 x 100% = 75.75%, Berdasarkan data tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi minat belajar siswa, maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensi matematis siswa. Speaking in foreign language involves both cognitive and psychological process which eventually bring it as the most challenging skill to learn. However, many learners do not have adequate opportunities to practice speaking unless in the classroom, thus, teachers and students needed to developed various extensive speaking activities including utilizing technological features such as social media. This study is aimed at describing the students' perceptions about extending speaking activities in social media and how it impacts on the improvement of their skill as well as their self-confidence in speaking. It was a case study involving 5 students of English Department in Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng, East Nusa Tenggara as the participants. The data were collected by observing the participants’ English-Speaking videos posted on Facebook and Focus Group Discussion. The observation sheet and the discussion guidelines were used as the instruments of data collection. To analyze the data, the researchers used Miles and Huberman’s procedures of data analysis, comprising: data reduction, data displaying, and conclusion drawing. This study revealed that extending the speaking activities in social media had positively enhanced the students’ speaking ability as well as their self-esteem in speaking.

Speaking as the most demanding skill to be mastered in the ESL/EFL teaching context. This is caused by the prime priority of students who want to study English in order to be able to use English for communicative purposes. Knowledge of language functions has a vital role in supporting a speaker to be more involved in the real interaction. The aim of this study is to analyze the use of language functions in the speaking for academic purposes course. This study conducted at the English department students which altogether 33 persons in STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng, Indonesia. Then data were collected through observation, field note and natural recorded when the respondents were doing the English speaking exercises at the speaking for academic purposes course. Data collection were done during eight meetings and only language functions utterances of those respondents were analyzed. The utterances recorded are expected to be representative of the whole the language functions. Utterances produced by respondents were recorded precisely by the researchers. The result showed that there are five types of language functions found, namely interactive function, informative function, manipulative function, motivative function and directive functions. Those functions are reciprocal. Speaking practitioners are suggested to provide the knowledge of language functions in the speaking learning process.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to analyze the requirements of instrument, the characteristics of the developed questions prototype, the feasibility of the questions, and the thinking level of students regarding Van Hiele's Theory of geometry concept taught with assistance of Geogebra Software. This study was a Research and Development using Wina Sanjaya's model. The instrument' development procedure consists of four stages, namely: Preliminary Stage, Product Development Stage; Stage of Trial and Product Validation and Dissimination Stage of products. The instrument feasibility is based on the accuracy and practicality test. The subjects of this study were all students of class XI Santu Petrus Pontianak 2016/2017 Academic Year, with a sample of class XI-MIA3 students chosen randomly. The results showed the level of instrument feastibility which expressed through experts' testing and student' opinions, calculation of validity, reliability, distinguishing factors, levels of difficulty, and practicality test results. The instrument obtained an average validity of 0.68 belongs to high category, a reliability of 0.998 belongs to very high category, and a difficulty level of 0.35 belongs to moderate category. The percentage of content validity, construction and language content rated by the experts amounted to 91.16%, which categorized as high. Il saggio ricostruisce la vicenda della Milizia di Terra Santa, svoltasi a margine della prima guerra arabo-israeliana nell'estate 1948. Di fronte ai pericoli che incombevano sui Luoghi santi di Gerusalemme, in alcuni ambienti cattolici sorse l'idea di inviare una spedizione di volontari cristiani a difesa dei santuari. Tutte le proposte in tal senso, avanzate dall'Ordine di Malta, dai Cavalieri del Santo Sepolcro e dalla delegazione romana di Terra Santa, fallirono e nessuna delle progettate spedizioni ebbe un'attuazione pratica. Ciň nonostante, questi episodi, e in particolare quello della Milizia francescana, richiamarono l'attenzione della stampa internazionale e delle diplomazie. Sconfessata dal Vaticano e dall'ordine minoritico e osteggiata dalle diplomazie occidentali, la progettata Milizia non ebbe seguito. Tuttavia il grande successo presso fedeli e pubblica opinione dimostra come l'idea, collegando il tema della protezione dei santuari a un possibile ruolo italiano nella regione, riuscisse a riscuotere notevoli consensi. Proprio per questo, l'episodio appare un punto d'osservazione privilegiato per valutare come il mondo cattolico italiano si confrontň con la nascita d'Israele e il tramonto dell'influenza europea nel Levante.

We describe and illustrate three new species ofBertolonia, all endemic to the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil.Bertolonia duasbocaensisandB. macrocalyxoccur close to each other, in the municipalities of Cariacica and Viana.Bertolonia ruschianahas a wider distribution, occurring in the municipalities of Santa Leopoldina, Santa Maria de Jetibá and Santa Teresa. The first two species are classified as critically endangered (CR), and the latter as endangered (EN). We also present an identification key for the species ofBertoloniathat occur in Espírito Santo.

Zhi Qian (支謙, fl. ca. 220–257 CE), a prolific Yuezhi-Chinese translator of Indian Buddhist scriptures into Chinese, is widely known for his broad range of styles and terminology. For several decades, his translation activities and his legacy in the history of Chinese Buddhist literature have been a rich field of research, particularly within the context of the transmission of Buddhism from India to China. In the present article, as a follow-up study to “Buddhism for Chinese readers: Zhi Qian’s Literary Refinements in the Foshuo pusa benye jing,” recently published by the authors in this journal, we offer additional reflections on distinctive features of Zhi Qian’s language. We focus on four unusual and interesting renderings in the Foshuo pusa benye jing (佛說菩薩本業經, T. 281), namely (1) santu 三塗; (2) shezui 捨罪; (3) kong 空, wu xiang 無想 and bu yuan 不願; and (4) sishi buhu 四時不護. Through an analysis of these words and phrases, we discuss Zhi Qian’s translation techniques and lexical idiosyncrasies, highlighting their significance in our understanding of the dynamics of language contact and change in the early period of the Chinese Buddhist tradition. Thus, the paper investigates some key Buddhist terms as coined by the early translators on the basis of the classical Chinese and illustrates the semantic changes of the Chinese language taking place in the period as well as influence of Buddhist regimes of knowledge.

En el análisis de la capilla de exequias toledana se evocaba el templo del Santo Sepulcro, al recordar los nombres dados a esta capilla: la capilla de la Santa Cruz y la subterránea del Santo Sepulcro. Este estudio procura analizar la evolución cultual y formal de la cabecera de la catedral de Toledo primero dentro del ideario del arzobispo Jiménez de Rada, y después como capilla funeraria y de reliquias de la Santa Cruz, contemplando su estructura y decoración.

Santa Catarina de Siena e Santo Agostinho de Hipona, dois santos agraciados com o título de doutores pela Igreja Católica produziram obras marcantes sobre espiritualidade e também Teologia. A primeira, pouco conhecida, oriunda de uma família burguesa de Siena, na Península Itálica, se viu aos vinte oito anos envolvida inteiramente em questões delicada de seu tempo. Encantando a todos com uma enorme erudição, Santa Catarina, por meio da oralidade, bebeu efusivamente da patrística e da tradição da Igreja. O objetivo deste artigo não está em desvendar os meandros da trajetória política da jovem santa de Siena, mas sim em compreender os embasamentos de seu discurso, chamando atenção, sobretudo, a grande influência exercida pelos escritos de Santo Agostinho.

A região cárstica de Lagoa Santa tem sido de suma importância para as discussões sobre o tempo e o modo da dispersão dos primeiros americanos. A Lapa do Santo, escavada na última década, originou uma das maiores coleções de esqueletos humanos desta região. Neste trabalho, investigamos as afinidades morfológicas dos esqueletos da Lapa do Santo com outras amostras esqueletais de Lagoa Santa e da Colômbia, contextualizando-as dentro da variação morfocraniana existente hoje no planeta. Nossas análises, realizadas sobre um total de 2.059 crânios (1.071 masculinos e 988 femininos), estão baseadas em duas abordagens multivariadas, com o objetivo de caracterizar a variabilidade intra e intergrupos das 24 séries incluídas no trabalho. Nossos resultados mostram que os crânios da Lapa do Santo, bem como de outras séries de Lagoa Santa, não mostram níveis mais elevados de variabilidade intragrupal do que as séries modernas usadas como comparação, sugerindo que elas representam uma mesma população biológica. Concluímos também que os esqueletos mais antigos da América do Sul, incluindo os da Lapa do Santo, mostram fortes afinidades morfológicas com as populações australo-melanésias e da ilha de Páscoa. Tais resultados sugerem que houve um aumento na diversidade biológica no continente americano durante o Holoceno Médio, possivelmente devido ao influxo de diversidade extracontinental após a colonização inicial das Américas.
