Abstract:
To many women the soap-opera constitutes an important part of the material used in their identity work. The concentration of the soap-opera on the private sphere and relationships make it highly appreciated amongst the experts on the labour of relations, the women. The author has followed several women's soap-opera watching for a considerable time. In conversations with these women, certain topics have crystallized, themes which deal with women's living conditions and visions today. The author advocates a research perspective where an ideology-critical attitude toward the offering of TV series

Abstract:
This project is about cultural images of femininity and masculinity in soap opera and horror movies. For many youths today these genres constitute an important part of the material used in their identity work. Despite the fact that soap opera is associated with femininity and horror movies with masculinity, there is an increasing number of young men watching soaps and many young women are horror cineastes. These youths have an ironic attitude towards traditional perspectives on gender.

Abstract:
When the Soap Opera Dynasty first appeared in the 80´s it was not so popular as Dallas or Falcon Crest. But the aim of Dynasty was to do things more provocative. Thus, one character was homosexual, one was a “bitch”, and there was more focus on the females. The characters lived a luxury life with much drama, love, and expectations. After one season it became increasingly popular and was awarded several times. In 1989 Dynasty ended after nine seasons, and in 2016  news about a reboot was appeared on the CW and Netflix. The producers of the reboot chosed to take the best pieces of the originals

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur de kvinnliga huvudkaraktärerna i den amerikanska dramaserien Sex and the City framställs. En analys har gjorts på sex avsnitt av serien. Analysmaterialet studerades utifrån ett feministiskt samt stereotypiskt perspektiv. En av utgångspunkterna har varit antagandet om att karaktärerna är olika. Undersökningen syftar också till att analysera serien och se om den är en traditionell eller en modern såpopera. Studien grundar sig på en innehållsanalys. Resultatet kommer att delvis vara generellt för hela serien, eftersom karaktärerna följer med alla säson
