Abstract:

Abstract:
The article discusses a vital figure in the development of modern English theatre, Thomas William Robertson, in the context of his borrowings, inspirations, translations and adaptations of the French dramatic formula pièce bien faite (well-made play). The paper gives the definition and enumerates features of the formula created with great success by the French dramatist Eugène Scribe. Presenting the figure of Thomas William Robertson, the father of theatre management and realism in Victorian theatre, the focus is placed on his adaptations of French plays and his incorporation of the formula of the well-made play and its conventional dramatic devices into his original, and most successful, plays, Society and Caste. The paper also examines the critical response to the well-made play in England and dramatists who use its formula, especially from the point of view of George Bernard Shaw, who famously called the French plays of Scribe and Victorien Sardou—“Sardoodledom.”

Abstract:
Émile Augier, Alexandre Dumas fils and Victorien Sardou appear among the most important dramatists of the Second Empire era (1852-1870). In this thesis, comedies of manners of these authors are considered from a “socio-poetical” point of view. Rules of etiquette and good manners are analyzed in their dramatic and theatrical function. Theatrical aesthetic of manners which includes locality (Paris), characters (mondaines and demi-mondaines, mondains and servants), and media of communication (letters and cards), is examined first. Afterwards, spectacular aspects of good manners are studied : “distinction”, greeting’s gesture, outfits and “arts de la table”. Components of rules of etiquette lead to think of a certain dramaturgy of good manners which are characteristic of comedy of manners. This dramaturgy, which is considered as ‘old fashioned’ by some people, reflects however typical manners of an epoch

Abstract:
We tried to understand depending on whether processes and for which linguistic, ideological and political motivations, the researchers, authors, poets or grammarians in a certain historical or sociological situation tempted to focus on a normalisation of their own method of writting their language. The concern period is from 1881 to 1919 and concern the "niçois", the "provencal" and the "languedocien". To understand those subtil mecanisms we hare studied the progress of thought and the work of five authors: A. L. Sardou and J. B. Calvino for Nice, L. Funel for Provence, A. Perbosc and P. Estieu for the Languedoc. These approaches show all the importance that put on the choice of a method of writting system in a dynamic of renaissance literary and linguistic. We wanted to show why they made such choices and that explain the fervour and the pugnacity of those who created them out or defend them. In "Nice" Sardou adaptated the "felibreenne" method of writting to "nicois" and Calvino fit to it the " Honnorat" method of writting. They provokated a drastic polemic with the followers of the italian method of writting. Funel set a system of method of writting to unify the dialects in collaboration with Perbosc and Estieu, who set themselves in 1919 a system that was the base for the Alibert method of writting. It occurs that the search for the primary method of writting to give a new dignity at the language, was the one a proper "occitan" method of writting, that was independant of any other systems. A choice which is, belong certain people as Funel, a kind of nationalism form. The choice of the transcription code is an indication of historical, cultural, social and political choices. We think that the method of writting is the expression that the users have about the language. This choice is the tell-tale of what they want and whatare their motivations regarding the status they want to confer to it

Abstract:
The quality of Sardinia kid meat Goat farming in Sardinia represents about 30% of the Italian heritage: various types of livestock farming are present on the island, depending on the area in which they are located. While traditional breeding can be found in marginal areas, characteristic for the Sarda breed goats, in the most fertile ones there are housed breeding of foreign breeds such as Saanen and Murciano Granadina. Milk production is the main reason for goat farming in Sardinia. In fact, kid meat is considered a secondary product or a by-product. Nevertheless, kid meat is regarded as a delicacy and this is the result of traditional nursing goat’s techniques adopted by goat herders throughout the years. It is a light-coloured, low-fat meat with an acid profile, due to the composition of goat's milk, which is the only food kids eat in the first weeks of life. Finally, this thesis work, divided into two phases, aimed at identifying the types of breeding present in the territory and studying their management characteristics; at distinguishing the characteristics of kid’s meat that is fed only with mother's milk, paying particular attention to the meat’s acid profile; Resumo: A qualidade da carne de cabritos de Sardenha A criação de cabras na Sardenha representa cerca de 31% do património italiano: na ilha, de facto, existem diferentes tipos de explorações em função da área em que estão localizadas.

Abstract:
This paper will present the development of composite coil springs made from glass-fiber-epoxy materials. It will also review the results from prototype springs that have been manufactured and tested. Sardou S.A. has been developing and manufacturing composite structures and components of various designs for over 27 years. This experience, especially with composite torsion springs, has led to development, prototype production, and testing of several designs of composite coil springs. The design takes advantage of commercially available glass fiber and epoxy materials. The development process led to proprietary design methods and computer models to simulate unique configurations and material characteristics. The development process also allows design of composite springs for the same or smaller design volume as steel coil springs with comparable spring characteristics. The manufacturing methods that are used apply existing lost mold and winding processes in unique ways to produce prototype composite coils springs. These methods were also developed considering scaling-up and automation for volume production. Several generations of prototype composite coil springs have been produced and tested. Each generation has advanced the design and manufacturing methods. Several features of composite coil springs including light weight, dynamic response, flexibility of design, and fatigue resistance have been demonstrated through testing. Depending the steel counterpart considered, composite coils springs offer weight saving of about 75%, fatigue life improvement, no rust, no creep, and no notch sensitivity at a cost close to that of a steel spring.

Abstract:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) requested the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), on behalf of South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), to undertake an independent and objective evaluation of potential alternative telecommunication technologies for the areas of the Karoo Central Astronomy Advantage Areas (KCAAA). The study encompasses regulatory, public sphere, and technical dimensions to explore options for maintaining the functionality of the telescope while, at the same time, delivering appropriate connectivity solutions for local communities. The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) Assess the technologies currently being, or planning to be, deployed through existing alternative communications programs managed by SARAO, including whether these technologies are comparable with market available technologies that could feasibly be deployed in the KCAAA; and 2) Assessment of current and future telecommunication technologies that may act as suitable replacement and/or improvement (functional and feasible) for existing detrimental technologies, utilised in the KCAAA. This report provides a critical background into the relationship between the SKA and local communities as it relates to ICTs in the area. Based on this understanding, potential technology solutions are proposed to ensure residents of the KCAAA are still afforded valuable access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) within the parameters of affordability, desirability and feasibility.
