Abstract The theory of instability of accretion disks about black holes, neutron stars, or protoplanets is revisited by means of the recent method of the Spectral Web. The cylindrical accretion disk differential equation is shown to be governed by the forward and backward Doppler-shifted continuous Alfvén spectra Ω A ± ≡ m Ω ± ω A , where ω A is the static Alfvén frequency. It is crucial to take nonaxisymmetry (m ≠ 0) and super-Alfvénic rotation of the Doppler frames (∣mΩ∣ ≫ ∣ω A∣) into account. The continua Ω A + and Ω A − then overlap, ejecting a plethora of super-Alfvénic rotational instabi

Introduction: Severe acute lower respiratory infections (SARIs) are one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in young children, especially in developing countries. The present study focused on detection of risk factors for prolonged hospital stays among children with viral SARIs. Methodology: A sentinel surveillance study was conducted at Cairo University Hospital (CUH) between February 2010 and May 2011. Nasopharyngeal (NP) and oropharyngeal (OP) swabs were collected from all children admitted with SARIs. Viruses were identified using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction

Recently, rigorous MHD spectroscopy identified a new type of ultralocalized, nonaxisymmetric instability in global disks with super-Alfvénic flow. These super-Alfvénic r
