Abstract:
A numerical parameter sensitivity analysis of the design parameters of the recently published solar selective thermal insulation system (SATIS) has been carried out to enhance its thermal and optical properties. It turned out that the insulation properties of SATIS can be effectively improved by reducing the length of the glass closure element. Increasing the area share of the light conducting elements (LCEs) and decreasing their length-to-diameter (L/D) ratio were identified as key parameters in order to increase the solar gain. Two SATIS variants were compared with the same wall insulation without SATIS in a yearly energetic performance assessment. The SATIS variant with 10 mm length of the closure element, 44.2% area share of LCE, as well as front and rear diameters of 12 mm/9 mm shows an 11.8% lower transmission heat loss over the heating period than the wall insulation without SATIS. A new methodology was developed to enable the implementation of the computed solar gains of SATIS in 1D simulation tools. The result is a radiant heat flow map for integration as a heat source in 1D simulation models. A comparison between the 1D and 3D models of the inside wall heat fluxes showed an integral yearly agreement of 98%.

Abstract:
A newly-developed solar active thermal insulation system (SATIS) is introduced with the main objective to accomplish a highly-dependent total solar transmittance on the irradiation angle. SATIS is also designed to obtain the maximum transmittance at a prescribed design irradiation angle and to reduce it remarkably at higher irradiation angles. A purely mineral thermal insulation plaster with micro hollow glass spheres is applied to manufacture the investigated SATIS prototype. Light-conducting elements (LCEs) have been introduced into SATIS and suitable closing elements have been applied. The SATIS prototype has been investigated both experimentally and numerically. It turned out that the contributions of conduction, radiation and convection to the effective thermal conductivity of SATIS, without the closing elements (49 mWmK), amount to 86.2%, 13.2% and 0.6%, respectively. The angle-dependent short-wave radiation exchange within the LCE has been investigated via ray tracing. At the incidence angle of 19% (design angle), 27% of the radiation within the LCE is absorbed by the absorber plate, resulting in measured and computed total solar energy transmittances of 11.2%/11.7%, respectively. For a typical summer irradiation angle of 60%, 98% of the incident radiation is absorbed by the surfaces at the entrance of the LCE. The corresponding total solar energy transmittance amounts to 2.9%.

Abstract:
The task of the current paper is to compare two important, ecclesiological documents to each other, namely, the document The Church of Jesus Christ (cjc, 1994) of the Leuenberg Church Fellowship to the Faith and Order document The Church: Towards a Common Vision (ctcv, 2012). The first one, cjc, outlines an ecclesiology of one, specific confessional church family and church fellowship, in a geographical area. ctcv, on the other hand, reflects the global situation, and seeks to express convergence between churches living in very different societies and cultural spheres. By comparing the two documents, this paper explores themes such as church as a community of Saints, the Leuenberg methodology of unity, legitimate diversity, apostolic succession and requirements for unity. The paper argues that the Leuenberg model of ‘reconciled diversity’ could be understood as a step and a practical tool on the way to the full, visible unity, which, according to ctcv, is the ultimate goal of the ecumenical movement.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction User satisfaction assessment in mental health services is an important indicator of treatment quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate treatment satisfaction in a sample of inpatients with mental disorders and the associations between levels of satisfaction and clinical/sociodemographic variables. Methods This exploratory study investigated 227 psychiatric inpatients who answered the Patient Satisfaction with Mental Health Services Scale (SATIS-BR) and the Perception of Change Scale (EMP). SATIS scores were analyzed according to associations with clinical and sociodemographic data. Pearson correlations were used to correlate SATIS scores with other variables. Results We found a high degree of satisfaction with care at the psychiatric inpatient unit assessed. In general, patients rated maximum satisfaction for most items. The highest satisfaction scores were associated with patients receiving treatment through the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and with less education. SATIS showed a moderate positive correlation with EMP. The worst evaluated dimension was physical facilities and comfort of the ward. Conclusion Patients treated via SUS may be more satisfied than patients with private health insurance when treated in the same facility. The evaluation of treatment satisfaction can be used to reorganize services at psychiatric inpatient units.

Abstract:
Satisfaction is determined by a set of external and internal factors of the individual, experiences, culture and the environment; it changes with goals and achievements. Here I analyze the results of an online survey of 1000 institutional email users from a public university in Costa Rica. Men are more satis ed with life in general and single, widowed or divorced people are less satis ed than those living with a partner. The greatest satisfaction is associated with tenure, being over 31 years old and having a high academic degree. Overall satisfaction is medium-high which is consistent with other local studies.

Personal satisfaction is an indicator of life quality. Labor and country conditions have their effect, but individual factors dominate satisfaction, including family, sex life, educational level and neighborhood. I surveyed 1000 staff members of a Costa Rican public university via email. The questionnaire considered satisfaction in the personal, labor and country level. I found no gender diference in the answers, but partnered people are more satis ed that divorcees and widowers. People with steady jobs and mature age are more satis ed. Important job factors are working schedule, amount of work, salary, infrastructure and interpersonal relationships. Life satisfaction results from the interaction of the above variables, not from a single factor.

Ajuda e acolhida; 3. Condições físicas do serviço.

Abstract:
Introduction. SATIS-Stroke was developed to measure satisfaction regarding activities and participation among stroke survivors based on the concepts contained in the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. However, this measure is only available in English and French. Objective. Perform the translation and cross-cultural adaptation of SATIS-Stroke to Brazilian Portuguese and test the preliminary reliability of this measure. Methods. The translation process followed standardized guidelines and consisted of six phases: initial translation, back-translation, analysis of expert committee, test of final version, submission, and assessment of all written reports. To test the preliminary test-retest reliability, the measure was administered by a single observer on two occasions with an interval of 7 to 14 days for the determination of intraobserver agreement and administered again by a second observer for the determination of interobserver agreement. Reliability was analyzed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC2,1) and respective 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results. All stages of the cross-cultural adaptation process were respected and the final translated version of SATIS-Stroke exhibited semantic, idiomatic, cultural, and conceptual equivalence to the original version. The preliminary analysis revealed excellent intraobserver and interobserver reliability (ICC = 0.93; 95% CI: 0.83-0.97, p = 0.001 and ICC = 0.90; 95% CI: 0.74-0.96; p = 0.001, respectively). The items demonstrated adequate internal consistency, although ceiling and floor effects were considered beyond acceptable standards for some items. In the exploratory factor analysis, three factors were extracted that aggregated more than one construct to each component, but all were related to the “Activities and Participation” component of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. Conclusion. The final version of the SATIS-Stroke scale in Brazilian Portuguese proved to be adequate and reliable for use on the Brazilian population. Further studies are underway to give continuity to the validation process and analyze the others measurement properties of the scale in the Brazilian population.

Abstract:
The evaluation of parkinsonian satisfaction and its correlation with the balance are still not established, so it is fundamental to use instruments capable of measuring these aspects. The objective was to verify the satisfaction of Parkinsonians in Group Physiotherapy treatment in the Training Circuit Format (FGCT) and correlate with the balance. The initial evaluation was performed using the Berg Modified Scale (EMB) to evaluate the static and dynamic balance and after the intervention with FGCT, the second evaluation was added the Abbreviated Patient Satisfaction Assessment Scale (SATIS-BR), which analyzes the patients' perception about the aspects of the services received, consisting of quantitative and qualitative questions. Statistical analysis revealed no significant difference in BMS (p = 0.354) and showed a weak correlation between BMS x SATIS-BR (r = 0.057 and p = 0.875). The FGCT was able to maintain the clinical picture in the analyzed population.

Abstract:
Virtual Reality (VR) is a promising tool used in the rehabilitation of individuals with Parkinson's Disease(PD) as it promotes motor learning through multisensory feedback in real time. This is an experimental study with a single arm whose objective was to analyze the influence of VR on gait speed and satisfaction assessment of individuals with PD. In the initial assessment (IA1) a 10-Meter Walk Test (10MWT) was applied, followed by the protocol of 10 sessions with VR using Nintendo WiiTM console. In the final evaluation (FE2), the 10MWT was reapplied, followed by the Abbreviated Patients’ Satisfaction with Mental Health Services Scale (SATIS-BR). The 10MWT showed 0.91 ± 0.20 in IA1 and 1 ± 0.22 in FE2 with no significant difference (p= 0.187) while SATIS-BR scored 4.8 ± 0.22 out of 5. It is concluded that despite the non-significant result, the gait speed was maintained, exposing expressive values of the participants' satisfaction.

Abstract:
Utilising data from a Swedish longitudinal project, relationships with parents and friends were studied at ages 13 through 18, and with partners at age 37. The participants (N = 131, 56 females, 75 males) were either married or cohabiting in long-term relationships in midlife. In support of previous studies, which rely mostly on retrospective ” ndings, we found in this longitudinal study that adolescents with affectionate and trustful relationships with their parents reported greater satisfaction with their partner relationships in midlife. This was specifically true for father-son relationships. Parent-parent relations in adolescence were not linked with the quality of adult partner relationships. Boys who were shy in relation to friends were more dissatisfied with their partner relationships, and boys who regarded cross-gender relationships as less important in adolescence were more satis” ed with their adult partner relationships. Girls who were more worried about cross-gender relationships in adolescence were less satis” ed with their partners. On the whole, adolescent boys’ relationships with fathers had the clearest link with later adult partner relationships.

Information is being presented these days in terms of text, data, images, video, and audio. Graphics and animations. Information is being disseminated through web sites which are either dynamic or static. Quality of the WEB site is however a big question. Users are quite concerned about quality of the WEB site. Too many operations if need to be undertaken for want of quality visualisation of the content such as Images, then the users loose interest in looking at that kind of content. WEB sites are presenting the content by integrating text and data with multimedia objects. Quality visualisation of the multimedia content would be the real issue as presenting these elements. The number of operations that the user is expected to carry must be minimised as much as possible.Quality presentation of the multimedia objects is most important for making available web sites to the customer satis-faction. Assessment of quality of the multimedia objects is needed to project the extent to which the users will be satis-fied with a web site that hosts different types of multimedia objects. In this paper the methods that computes quality of multimedia objects individually and also considering all types of multi-media objects as a whole are presented.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Human rights claims rely on both utilitarian and deontological perspectives of the moral universe. The persuasiveness of these claims depends on the extent to which they resonate harmoniously with a person's other moral opinions. If these opinions cannot be grounded in a larger structure of ra-tionally defensible moral principles, differences of opinion cannot be satis-factorily resolved. When this happens, action protective of rights —about which there may be not only different but diametrically opposed opinion — will be hard to achieve.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Objective: This study aims to assess the satisfaction of family members of patients of mental health community services through a tested, validated and previously applied scale in order to allow comparison of results. Methods: The results were obtained by applying the scale SATIS-BR to 1242 relatives of patients of 40 mental health community services in Brazil. The average scores of the three subscales of the SATIS-BR scale were compared using the Wilcoxon test. To measure statistical significance for each item of the scale, the Friedman test was applied, considering significant p-value < 0.05. Results: The average overall satisfaction score was 4.35 with a standard deviation (SD) of 0.44, with a range varying from 1 to 5. The subscale with the highest score refers to the “Results of Treatment”, what presents scores of 4.54 with SD of 0.66. As for the other subscales, which refer to “Reception and Staff Competence” and “Service Privacy and Confidentiality” had scores of 4.25 (SD: 0.51) and 4.17 (SD: 0.51). Conclusion: The high level of satisfaction with the service among families of patients highlights the potential of these services and their contribution to the advance of a model of mental health community care, as it seems to be the global trend. The different results between the scales further suggest that the family distinguishes different aspects of the service and evaluates separately, providing a good reference for evaluation studies.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: Assessment of the results of treatment for mental disorders becomes more complete when the patient's perspective is incorporated. Here, we aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties and application of the Perceived Change Scale - Patient version (PCS-P) in a sample of inpatients with mental disorders. Methods: One hundred and ninety-one psychiatric inpatients answered the PCS-P and the Patients' Satisfaction with Mental Health Services Scale (SATIS) and were evaluated in terms of clinical and sociodemographic data. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed and internal consistency was calculated. The clinical impressions of the patient, family, and physician were correlated with the patient's perception of change. Results: The EFA indicated a psychometrically suitable four-factor solution. The PCS-P exhibited a coherent relationship with SATIS and had a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.856. No correlations were found between the physician's clinical global impression of improvement and the patient's perception of change, although a moderate positive correlation was found between the patients' clinical global impression of improvement and the change perceived by the patient. Conclusions: The PCS-P exhibited adequate psychometric proprieties in a sample of inpatients with mental disorders. The patient's perception of change is an important dimension for evaluation of outcomes in the treatment of mental disorders and differs from the physician's clinical impression of improvement. Evaluation of positive and negative perceptions of the various dimensions of the patient's life enables more precise consideration of the patient's priorities and interests.

Abstract:

Fredericksen, Erik. "WHEN ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: AN UNNOTICED TELESTICH IN HORACE (SATIRES 1.4.14–18)." Classical Quarterly 68, no. 2 (November 8, 2018): 716–20. http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/s0009838818000381.

Abstract:
In these lines from the fourth poem of his first collection of satires (1.4.9–18), Horace defines his poetic identity against the figures of his satiric predecessor Lucilius and his contemporary Stoic rival Crispinus. Horace emerges as the poet of Callimachean restraint and well-crafted writing in contrast to the chatty, unpolished prolixity of both Lucilius and Crispinus. A proponent of the highly wrought miniature over the sprawling scale of Lucilius, Horace knows when enough is enough. And, owing to a playful link between what is satis (‘enough’) and satura (‘satire’), this makes Horace not only a skilful poet but also the consummate satirist. I suggest that this programmatic message is both emphasized and illustrated by a piece of wordplay beginning in line 14. In a previously unnoticed telestich, the last letters of lines 14–18 spell out the word satis (‘enough’). Moreover, this hidden word—made possible only by the particular arrangement of words in all five of its lines—anticipates and deepens the poem's later interest in the matter of compositio, or artful word-arrangement. While this may be unique as an example of a Horatian telestich, Horace does engage in various forms of wordplay elsewhere, and could look not only to Hellenistic poets but also to Lucretius as a predecessor in this regard. In the Satires, a collection in which problems of libertas make forms of implication and veiled speech especially significant, a wide range of hidden words and wordplay has been detected and suggested. The instance observed here reaffirms Horace's interest in wordplay, while its uniqueness as a telestich is, as I hope to show, particularly suited to its context in this poem.
