Freeze–thaw cycles (FTCs) and steel bar corrosion (SBC) are the most common service conditions of hydraulic concrete and have significant impacts on its durability. Using pullout and microscopic tests of different FTC and SBC rates, we selected the mass loss rate, ultrasonic velocity, bond strength and bond slip in order to describe the changes in the macro-properties, and also selected the porosity and pore size distribution as micro-parameters in order to explore the influence of FTCs and SBC on the mechanical properties of hydraulic concrete. The results showed that the bond strength decrea

BACKGROUND Simple bone cysts (SBC) are benign tumor-like bone lesions typically identified in children. While SBC may lead to growth disturbances or growth arrest, such cases are uncommon. The mechanisms behind these observations remain unclear. Additionally, research on the etiology of SBC remains inconclusive, and there has been no consensus on the appropriate timing and methodology for treatment. CASE SUMMARY Here, we present our experience in the successful surgical management of a 10-year-old girl with SBC, who presented with a pathological fracture complicated by malunion of the displace

The authors have two main objectives: conceptual clarification and survey of formal theoretical literature on SBC. In the first part of the article the accent is made on analyzing the essence of the SBC syndrome, means of its softening and corresponding expectations of organizations. Abstract We have proposed the Adaptive Sub-Band Compound (A-SBC) method, which uses subbands of different frequencies to improve the resolution by adaptive compounding. A-SBC effectively suppresses the sidelobe level by mainly utilizing the principle that the phases of subbands of different frequencies are inconsistent off-axis. There are many specific methods that can realize A-SBC. In this study, we propose three additional methods based on a previous application of A-SBC to multi-angle plane-wave beamforming. Summary. Solitary bone cyst (SBC) is one of the most common childhood pathologies of the skeleton. According to different authors, SBC represents 21 % to 57 % of the benign tumors and tumor processes in the bones of children. SBC usually consists of a single chamber cavitary formation filled with a transparent liquid with a straw colored lining of varying thickness, which consists of connective tissue and single giant cells. There is no consensus on the etiopathogenesis of SBC, and the choice of treatment. There are no clear indications for conservative and surgical treatment of SBC. Some auth

The nZVI/SBC was successfully employed as an activator in phenol degradation by activated persulfate. XRD, SEM, N2 adsorption–desorption and atomic absorption spectrophotometry analysis showed that the nanosized Fe0 was the main component of the 4ZVI/SBC activator, which was a mesopore material with an optimal FeCl3·6H2O/biom

To address the dearth of knowledge for SbC cases involving no force or less lethal force, 419 SbC cases from the Los Angeles Police Department Mental Evaluation Unit were analyzed. In free-ranging antelopes, however, SBC often was present when body temperature was low but absent when brain temperature was near 42°C.
