Abstract:

With the rapidly growing of passenger flow in big city, Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) system is believed to be the chief choice for urban railway transportation system. Interlocking system is a key safety critical application for CBTC, as it provides trains safety routes both in normal condition and under degraded mode. To deal with the logic complexity and high demand for safety, this paper addresses a novel scheme for modeling and realization of CBTC interlocking system. Using SCADE toolset, core function model prototypes are elaborated and software codes are generated automatically. The practical application indicates that this method provides an accurate and complete description for the whole system, and offers a path to gain high quality system implementation.

Malformaţiile congenitale de cord cu circulaţie ducto-dependentă au o fi ziologie cardiovasculară complexă. După naştere, situaţia acestor copii este critică, iniţial sunt asimptomatici, apoi rezistenţa vasculară pulmonară scade, ducând la degradarea hemodinamică progresivă. Identificarea cât mai precoce a acestor malformaţii şi iniţierea terapiei corespunzătoare permite menţinerea echilibrului cardiovascular.

Abstract:

Prezentăm cazul unui nou-născut diagnosticat cu suferintă perinatală și injurie renală secundară, transpoziție de vase mari și debit sistemic scăzut, tratat cu prostaglandină, atrioseptostomie, urmate de operația de switch arterial. Postoperator, pacientul este oliguric și necesită hemodiafiltrare pentru 12 zile, după care funcția renală este restabilită. În evoluție, apare bloc atrioventricular (BAV) grad III, urmat de implantare de stimulator cardiac permanent, dar o altă complicație postoperatorie – chilotorax – duce la oprirea stimulării electrice, urmată de disfuncție cardiacă severă și, consecutiv, injurie renală recurentă și anurie. Se reinstituie hemodiafiltrarea pentru încă 7 zile, fără recuperarea funcției renale. Asfixia perinatală, malformația cardiacă cu debit sistemic scăzut, prostaglandina, atrioseptostomia, circulația extracoroporeală, tulburările de ritm, chilotoraxul, sepsisul, stopul cardiac sunt factori intricaţi care aduc injurie renală importantă. Asocierea lor scade major șansele de supraviețuire chiar dacă pacientul beneficiază de tratament suportiv și hemodiafiltrare precoce.

Abstract:

Gadani shipbreaking area, located on the coastline of Pakistan, is an important fish production area. In this study, levels of four metals (Ni, Pb, Cd, and Mn) in 148 muscle and gill samples of seven fish species (Small-scale terapon, Torpedo scade, Sicklefish, Saddle grunt, Gold silk seabream, Indian mackerel, Spotted sickle fish) and seawater samples, taken from 9 sampling sites in the shipbreaking area, were determined. In addition, multiple approaches were used to assess human health risks from fish consumption. Trace metal concentration in seawater ranged from 0.05 to 1.96 mg/L in shipbreaking vicinity and 0.03 to 0.97 mg/L in the reference site (Miani Hor). However, metal accumulations in fish species ranged from 1.33 to 5.26 μg/g. Among trace metals, the level of Pb in all fish species was highest, followed by Ni, Mn, and Cd. The bioaccumulation factors (BAFs) for both gills and muscles displayed the order: Mn > Cd > Ni > Pb. Estimated daily intake (EDI) values were below the tolerable daily intake (TDI). Based on target hazard quotient (THQ), the investigated fish species were safe regarding Pb and Mn (THQ < 1), while they may cause potential risk regarding Cd and Ni (THQ > 1). After comparison with maximum permissible limits, heavy metal concentration in the edible muscle tissues of all the analyzed fish species from the Gadani coast were found safe for human consumption.

Abstract:

Rezumat Datorită degradării în timp a îmbrăcăminților rutiere, trebuiesc adoptate măsuri pentru reabilitarea acestora cu costuri cât mai mici. Una din soluțiile des utilizate îl reprezintă așternerea covoarelor asfaltice peste cele degradate. Problema principală care apare în cazul acestei soluții este transmiterea fisurilor din stratul existent în covorul de protecție (fisurare reflectivă). Adoptarea soluției optime în cazul straturilor asfaltice de protecție, din punct de vedere al comportării la fisurare, scade considerabil costurile de întreținere/reabilitare a structurii rutiere existente. De aceea sunt necesare studii experimentale efectuate în laborator, care presupune costuri mici, dar și o perioadă mai scurtă de timp față de sectoarele experimentale. În cadrul încercărilor de laborator efectuate, s-a urmărit și măsurat parametrii fisurării: deschiderea și lungimea fisurii în mixtură, deschiderea fisurii betonului, deformația probei și numărul de cicluri. Interpretarea acestor parametri, prin stabilirea unor legi de evoluție a acestora, ne poate oferi o imagine a modului în care fisura se transmite din betonul de ciment prefisurat în stratul de protecție și apoi se propagă pe întreaga grosime a acestuia. Se poate astfel stabili care este rețeta de mixtură asfaltică care se comportă cel mai bine la acest tip de fisurare, evitându-se astfel adoptarea unei soluții neadecvate care atrage după sine costuri ridicate de întreținere.

Abstract:

Dataflow languages allow the specification of reactive systems by mutually recursive stream equations, functions, and boolean activation conditions called clocks. Lustre and Scade are dataflow languages for programming embedded systems. Dataflow programs are compiled by a succession of passes. This article focuses on the normalization pass which rewrites programs into the simpler form required for code generation. Vélus is a compiler from a normalized form of Lustre to CompCert’s Clight language. Its specification in the Coq interactive theorem prover includes an end-to-end correctness proof that the values prescribed by the dataflow semantics of source programs are produced by executions of generated assembly code. We describe how to extend Vélus with a normalization pass and to allow subsampled node inputs and outputs. We propose semantic definitions for the unrestricted language, divide normalization into three steps to facilitate proofs, adapt the clock type system to handle richer node definitions, and extend the end-to-end correctness theorem to incorporate the new features. The proofs require reasoning about the relation between static clock annotations and the presence and absence of values in the dynamic semantics. The generalization of node inputs requires adding a compiler pass to ensure the initialization of variables passed in function calls.

Abstract:

This raw fish is used as fisheries products such as salted fish, grilled fish, fishmeal and surimi. This study aims to analyze mortality and recruitment of yellowstipe scad (Selaroides leptolepis) and the information about management of small pelagic fisheries resources in Bintan Waters. This research was carried out in February-June 2019 at the Barek Motor Fish Landing Area (TPI) with fishing areas in Bintan waters. The number of fish studied was 2.550 with a length of 102-215 mm and a weight of 15-102 gr. The highest recruitment peak occurred in Mei of 18.11% and June of 19.48%. The highest and lowest condition factors are 0.83 and 1.09. The total mortality rate (Z) of yellow strait fish is 4.61 per year with a natural mortality rate (M) of 1.66 per year and the capture mortality rate of 2.95 per year so that the exploitation rate is 0.63. Laju mortalitas total (Z) ikan selar kuning 4,61 per tahun dengan laju mortalitas alami (M) 1,66 per tahun dan laju mortalitas penangkapan 2,95 per tahun sehingga diperoleh laju eksploitasi 0,63. Abstract:

Model-based design is now unavoidable when building embedded systems and, more specifically, controllers. Among the available model languages, the synchronous dataflow paradigm, as implemented in languages such as MATLAB Simulink or ANSYS SCADE, has become predominant in critical embedded system industries. Both of these frameworks are used to design the controller itself but also provide code generation means, enabling faster deployment to target and easier V&V activities performed earlier in the design process, at the model level. Synchronous models also ease the definition of formal specification through the use of synchronous observers, attaching requirements to the model in the very same language, mastered by engineers and tooled with simulation means or code generation. However, few works address the automatic synthesis of MATLAB Simulink annotations from lower-level models or code. This article presents a compilation process from Lustre models to genuine MATLAB Simulink, without the need to rely on external C functions or MATLAB functions. This translation is based on the modular compilation of Lustre to imperative code and preserves the hierarchy of the input Lustre model within the generated Simulink one. We implemented the approach and used it to validate a compilation toolchain, mapping Simulink to Lustre and then C, thanks to equivalence testing and checking. This backward compilation from Lustre to Simulink also provides the ability to produce automatically Simulink components modeling specification, proof arguments, or test cases coverage criteria.

"Ipoteză:Personalul medico-sanitar, deşi participă la locul de muncă la sesiuni obligatorii de instruire cu privire la utilizarea echipamentului personal de protecţie şi prevenirea accidentelor cu expunere la produse biologice, nu foloseşte totdeauna echipamentul complet şi la momentul potrivit. Personalul nu are la dispoziţie suficiente instrumente înţepător-tăietoare cu mecanisme de siguranţă.Obiective:Identificarea principalilor factori care influenţează utilizarea de către personalul medical şi auxiliar a diferitelor componente ale echipamentului de protecţie şi a instrumentelor înţepător-tăietoare cu mecanisme de siguranţă.Metodă:Studiu transversal multicentric, prin aplicarea unui chestionar pretestat la diferite categorii profesionale de personal medico-sanitar din diferite categorii de unităţi sanitare.Rezultate:Peste 90% dintre cei chestionaţi (557 respondent) au afirmat că au participat la şedinţe de instructaj cu privire la prevenirea accidentelor cu expunere, însă doar 63,84% au susţinut că ştiu semnificaţia precauţiunilor standard şi numai 30,12% au reuşit să descrie corect în cuvinte definiţia. 90% dintre respondenţi poartă mănuşi la contact cu produsele biologice, dar numai 65,80% se protejează cu mască şi/sau ochelari de protecţie când există risc de stropire la nivelul mucoaselor, uneori angajatorul fiind cel care nu le pune suficiente la dispoziţie. Peste 90% au afirmat că sunt conştienţi de faptul că utilizarea corectă a echipamentului de protecţie scade riscul expunerii la produse biologice, totuşi 37-38% consideră că unele Studiu OriginalJ.M.B.nr. 1 -202025elemente ale echipamentului pot interfera cu abilitatea personalului de a efectua diferite proceduri. Peste 2/3 dintre subiecţi ar dori să aibă la dispoziţie mai multe instrumente înţepător-tăietoare cu mecanisme de siguranţă şi 90% consideră că raportarea accidentelor cu expunere la produse biologice ar putea să ajute managementul unităţii sanitare în a implementa măsuri care să îmbunătăţească nivelul de protecţie al personalului medico-sanitar împotriva agenţilor patogeni transmisibili prin fluidele biologice."

Abstract:

The low numbers of<br />female criminality, the high risk of women’s<br />victimization, the different law provisions<br />due to gender are factors that indicate the<br />planning of policy against crime. Up to<br />now, policy against crime both in terms of<br />preventive and executive measures) did not<br />take into consideration the gender factor<br />with the exception of policy for violence<br />against women. Abstract:

<p>Access to the healthcare sector can<br />be mediated by a signifi cant number<br />of socioeconomic factors, giving rise<br />to inequalities among different social<br />groups. Gender consists one of the abovementioned<br />socioeconomic factors, with<br />women generally considered to be in less<br />advantaged position than men regarding this<br />particular issue. In this article we examine<br />the fi nancial, cultural and geographical<br />inequalities in access to healthcare between<br />men and women in Greece. We argue<br />that the signifi cant problems faced by the<br />National Health System in Greece are<br />refl ected, among other things, in the intense<br />presence of gender-related inequalities in<br />access to healthcare. The problem is further<br />intensifi ed by the absence of administrative<br />provisions and of a comprehensive policy of<br />dealing with this particular issue.</p>

It examines<br />how much the inconvenience of households<br />from the changes in prices of energy products<br />is analogous to their income. Such products<br />are heating oil and transportation, gasoline<br />and natural gas for domestic use. Apart of the<br />direct effect, because all of the above goods<br />are linked directly with the international<br />price of oil and natural gas, we also<br />examine secondary impacts connected with<br />international prices of energy products, such<br />as electricity and public transportations.<br />For this purpose, we use household income<br />data from the last Household Budget Survey<br />(HBS) which covers the entire population<br />of Greece conducted from February 2004<br />to January 2005 by the National Statistical<br />Service of Greece (NSSG) and took into<br />account the increases in prices as computed<br />by Consumer Price index for the period July<br />2007 – July 2008.</p>

Abstract:

<p>The Greek case of worker participation<br />indicates that, there was considerable<br />unwillingness of IR actors to promote<br />such procedures. Nonetheless, during<br />the last decade, a progress in employee<br />involvement schemes has been made<br />within the subsidiaries of multinational<br />companies (MNCs), thanks to the EU<br />Directive on European Works Councils. This<br />paper examines the factors that contribute<br />the effi ciency of worker participation in the<br />MNCs by reviewing the existing literature and<br />enriching it with some new research fi ndings<br />from the employee side. The conclusions of<br />this study indicate that there are some good<br />practices of worker participation schemes,<br />which are linked with several contributing<br />factors concerning the nature of the MNC<br />and the structure of employee representation<br />as well. Thus, that paper could affect the<br />improvement of the traditional industrial<br />relations policies within MNCs.</p>

Abstract:

This paper focuses on the pensioners of the Greek public pension fund for the selfemployed (OAEE) and is divided into two parts. The first part comprises calculations of pension reductions in certain cases for the selfemployed. The analysis of the former illustrates the great difference in handling pensioners<br />receiving low and high old-age pension benefits. The second part analyses the legal protection of the high-earnings pensioners precipitated by the Greek financial crisis. It is concluded that while there is no existing legal protection, there are some moral and legal arguments in support of their protection to<br />ensure that their legal status is not undermined due to restricted financial resources.

The likelihood of primary healthcare utilization is determined by the gender, the existence of a chronic disease, the self-rated health and the age, while the logarithm of the visits<br />to primary health services is determined by the gender, the existence of a chronic disease, the income, the geographical region and the perceived threat from the health condition. Τhe funding impasse and the operational malfunction of the new organization (EOPOYY) in 2011 necessitated the provision for an exemption from this rule, applicable to health insurance funds which could prove their sustainability outside EOPYY. The aim of this article is to describe the concept of professionalism, resulting from the practice perspective of a profession. Special reference will be placed on the medical profession and its dynamic role in the health system. Theoretical approaches regarding professionalisation, as a process through which a profession is achieving professionalism, as well as, mechanisms that contribute to the exclusion of other professionals to practice a profession are included in this article. Moreover, issues concerning the specific body of knowledge, autonomy, power and control, code of ethics and the regulation of entry by self-governing bodies, as well as the wide acceptance of society are all important in a distinctive occupational identity. Regarding the medical profession, the fact that decisions are made on patients behalf, results in a higher status among caring professions. On the contrary, for the same reasons there is criticism about the quality of its professionalism.

Abstract:

The article examines the repercussions of work and employment in low status jobs upon the organization, representation and participation of immigrants in collectivities which emerge from work. The micro-sociological analysis focuses on the case of Bangladeshi immigrants in Athens and the extent to which their work and employment affects their participation in the immigrant work association “Bangladeshi Immigrant Workers’ Union of Greece” and Greek trade unions. The majority of Bangladeshis appear to deny membership of their work association and avoid claiming their work rights. On the contrary, immigrants develop individualistic behaviours, rely on informal secondary networks in search of solidarity and adopt alternative strategies of survival and protection.

<p>The presence of foreign workers in our country,<br />contests their stereotypes, ‘representations’,<br />beliefs as well as their ‘identity’. Their social<br />and professional acceptance in the country<br />of ‘reception’ requires a change in the social<br />beliefs and representations and the distinct<br />acceptance of new cultural values. This transformation<br />to a divergent society provokes a<br />break-through in the self- perception which<br />leads to a new assessment and meaning of identity.<br />The ‘self- preservation’ strategies adopted<br />by the immigrants jeopardize their collective<br />identity when pursuing their symbolic and social<br />recognition. Against this background, the<br />expansion of their “networks”, the education<br />of the next generation and the change in their<br />personal preferences pave the way for new social<br />and symbolic opportunities.</p>

Section one discusses<br />the importance of discourse to (reform driven)<br />change. Section two presents a short history of<br />the concept and the policy of flexicurity, discusses<br />the contents of the flexicurity discourse<br />and emphasizes its importance. Abstract:

<p>This article examines the institutional framework<br />regulating health and safety at work in Greece.<br />The analysis reveals that the regulations concerning<br />occupational health and safety are mainly<br />of European origin, since national legislation is<br />harmonized with the Community Directives. On<br />the other hand, the enforcement mechanisms of<br />the legislation between member-states hardly<br />converge, since the public administration of each<br />country still operates with its own functions and<br />procedures. The organizational structure and<br />history of each enforcement mechanism are of<br />great importance, while its independence from<br />the government is essential for its impartiality.<br />The European Social Charter is also mentioned in<br />the article, though its significance is deemed to<br />be limited up to now.</p>

<p>The paper examines the potential volume of<br />employed population, seen from the supply<br />point of view, in selected European countries,<br />in the context of the expected demographic<br />ageing. Our findings indicate that disparities<br />across EU are rather pronounced. Future<br />potential employment varies across countries,<br />because of diverse working-age population<br />trends and various employment rates by age<br />and sex. In a declining working-age population<br />context, an increase in the employment rates<br />could prevent or at least moderate labour<br />force shrinkage. As for pensions, the paper<br />underlines the importance of the employment<br />potential of the non-employed in order to<br />compensate for demographic ageing and<br />therefore for the expected increase in the<br />number of pensioners.</p>

There is a diversity of employment<br />behavior for older women as well as services<br />to assist them in caring for older family<br />members but the current policies on “active<br />aging” and the gender neutral approach to<br />pension reform does not take into account<br />the unpaid work of caregiving. Where older<br />women are typically employed during these<br />later years in the Nordic countries, there<br />are a range of supports to assist them with<br />caring for family members. In contexts<br />where the state provision of eldercare<br />facilities is weak if the adult daughters are<br />now expected to work, who will care for the<br />very old parents?</p>

<p>Beedi rolling is one of the major informal<br />sector activities in India, which employs a<br />large number of women and children. The<br />Government of India estimates that there are<br />about 50.53 lakh workers in this industry and<br />44,49,352 identity cards have been issued<br />to beedi workers. Of these, the majority are<br />home-based female workers who live below<br />poverty line. Beedi workers constitute one of<br />the most vulnerable sections of the country’s<br />workforce. This paper is an attempt to<br />evaluate the effectiveness of social security<br />and welfare programmes and its provision<br />such as educational, medical, insurance,<br />pension and other issues. The paper “Impact<br />of Social Security and Welfare Programmes<br />on Beedi Rollers”, is based on the primary<br />data collected from the Sagar district of<br />Madhya Pradesh and Rajnandgaon district of<br />Chhattisgarh.</p>
