Landscape development[1] can provide many benefits, including the reduction of stormwater runoff and the creation of habitats for wildlife. It can also provide health benefits. Researchers, such as Roger Ulrich and Rita Berto have demonstrated that views of trees and other vegetation are associated with lower blood pressure and reduced recovery times in hospitals and that environments with more natural elements may lessen mental fatigue (R. The scale-up of effective or efficacious public health interventions to prevent chronic disease is important if population wide impacts are to be achieved. However, scale-up is complex and doesn’t happen as often as it should. It facilitates a blended approach of analysis for food security and nutrition studies, public policy, and critical geography. Dettrick-Janes, Michelle. "An investigation of handwriting legibility and pencil use tasks in healthy older adults." Thesis, The University of Sydney, 2018. http://hdl.handle.net/2123/18389.

Full text
Abstract:
This project explores handwriting legibility and pencil use tasks in 120 healthy older Australian adults, aged 60 to 99 years. A cross sectional study design was used. The aim of these studies was to explore if handwriting legibility or pencil use performance deteriorated as people aged. Robbins, Thomas. "Small-scale heat-driven adsorption cooling." Diss., Georgia Institute of Technology, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/1853/52982.

Full text
Abstract:
Heat driven adsorption cycles use heat sources ranging in temperature from 80 - 150 °C to provide cooling, and have been used in both air conditioning and refrigeration applications. Adsorbent heat pumps operate with low cost, simple components, and very little vibration, making them appealing as an alternative heat pump technology. However, they have been limited thus far to commercial and industrial scale applications. To date, adsorption systems have predominantly used natural or industrial waste streams as heat sources in the 10s of kW range. This work expands the scope of adsorption appli
