The contribution of Italians to the medical field cannot be denied, yet, despite their discoveries and outstanding work with their results and impact, many Italian scientists still need to be remembered or known by the average physician or student and the non-medical person. The Italian scientist Antonio Scarpa significantly contributed to the development of medicine. Still, his contribution remains forgotten by many doctors and scientists, but until now, his contribution remains overlooked by many doctors and scientists, and only a few people know about the existence of such a scientist and h

This article narrates the encounter of the author with Angelo Rudella, the head of the construction site at the Castelvecchio Museum, Verona, during the period of Carlo Scarpa’s renovation (1957–1964, 1965–1975). Rudella visited the site on July 11, 2019, to identify the original place of Scarpa’s site office — an office that Rudella shared with Scarpa for the duration of the 1960s – 70s renovation work, and until Scarpa’s death. Giorgio Scarpa (1938–2012) was an Italian designer, artist and teacher who worked in bionics, topology and rotational geometry. This article describes Scarpa’s bionic model of “Aristotle’s lantern”—the mouth of the sea urchin. The technical literature on Echinoidea lacks a detailed study of its remarkable mouth mechanism. Scarpa’s model is the only known analysis and physical analogue of the mechanism. It is a striking example of geometrical analysis and craftsmanship, bridging science and art. Built in the early 1970s and described in 1985 in Modelli di Bionica, his model has inspired designs

This study aimed to determine the relationship between patient characteristics, including sex and body mass index, and the distribution of Camper’s and Scarpa’s fascial layers in the abdominal wall. Therefore, we undertook a quantitative study of Scarpa's ganglion in 48 deaf subjects who in life would have been candidates for cochlear implantation and in 5 subjects with normal hearing. It alludes to the essence, in a philosophical attitude next to modern phenomenology, which translates to debug through the application of geometry. The mechanism of abstraction applied to the creative methodology, art, architecture and design, consists of a first decomposition into its basic elements, that will allow to rebuild the set, sometimes transgressing the original order, to obtain a new order compositional par

The Italian architect Carlo Scarpa has received attention from scholars and critics throughout the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st Century. Explorations frequently focus on the poetry apparent in his projects, on his strong interest in expanding the local craftsmanship of the Veneto region, and on the tectonic dimensions of his details. Scarpa’s work processes and reinterprets several 20th-century tenden¬cies without fitting into any of them exclusively. Research related to Scarpa’s design process goes far beyond analyzing his buildings and exhibitions or the archives of his drawing

In the last twenty years, there has been an increasing awareness of peer violence in schools as a negative phenomenon that can cause numerous short-term or long-term consequences for children. If research results continuously show us that peer violence in schools persists (Јованова, 2008) and, in some schools, it even increases, the need is necessarily imposed to find an appropriate solution for managing the violence. To identify an efficient solution for dealing with this phenomenon is not an easy task. Historically, different approaches have been used, ranging from rehabilitative approaches
