Abstract:
The callipodidan milliped, Sinocallipus simplipodicus Zhang, 1993, previously known only from a cave in Yunnan Province, China, is redescribed based on specimens from an epigean habitat in southern Laos, some 600 mi (960 km) south of the type locality. SEM photos of the gonopods, ovipositor, gnathochilarium, midbody exoskeleton, an ozopore, and legs are presented to supplement previously published line drawings; the cannula may be the “functional” element of the gonopod that inseminates females in this species. The Callipodida occupy nine disjunct areas globally, all exclusively in the Norther

A remarkable dwarf schizopetalid, Euxinopetalum dobatorum Hoffman, 1973, is rediscovered in the Heracles Cave (type locality) in Turkey. This poorly known species is recorded after more than 50 years and is illustrated here with photographs, photomicrographs, and scanning electron micrographs, including descriptive notes and remarks. The small body size and the reduced number of body segments in Callipodida are briefly discussed, while the question about the type locality is clarified.

Abstract:
The genus Eurygyrus C.L. Koch, 1847 (Schizopetalidae) comprises 17 described species from Asia Minor and the Aegean islands, some of them the largest callipodidans in the world. Here, we describe E. peloponnesius sp. n., the first species from the Greek mainland, found in the Taygetos Mts. The holotypes of E. euboeus (Verhoeff, 1901) and E. nicarius (Verhoeff, 1901), both known only from females, are re-examined and are found both to be distinct from the new species. A key to all, but two species of Eurygyrus is included.
