Abstract:
As the number of museums that employ theatre as part of their educational provision is increasing there is a need for the articulation of the theoretical framework and an in-depth insight into the children's "museum theatre" experiences. The aim of this empirical research is to examine how primary school children "make meaning" of the form and content of the experience in two forms of "museum theatre": a) a participatory theatrical experience in the heritage site of Clarke Hall and b) first person interpretation events in the Museum of London. This thesis is a narrative of a project called the James River Anthology. The project was an experiment in "process theater" for the all-boy student population of Seven Hills School in Richmond, Virginia. Students were asked to write their own monologues and create masks inspired by the James River in the 2004-2005 school year. The performance was held on April 28th, 2005 at the Lewis Ginter Recreation Center. A grant from Partners in the Arts was awarded for this project to fund visiting artist, Heather Hogg, author of this thesis.

Thesis (MPhil (School of Public Management and Planning))--University of Stellenbosch, 2007.<br>In the present chaos surrounding society, youth are in dire need of tools that will enable them to navigate life’s tests and help them understand their role in building a new world civilisation. Abstract:
The purpose of this culminating project is to start translating quality Mexican and Latin American dramatic literature in order to provide to educators and theatrical directors a fundamental collection of plays. The author worked with her San Gorgonio High School students to conduct a dramaturgical study of the setting and political background of Rojo Amanecer by Xavier Robles, a play which outlines the events leading to the 1968 student massacre at Mexico City's Plaza de Tlatelolco. The author then directed the play in her role as San Gorgonio High School's new theater teacher.
