Precast Modular Construction is a concept which utilises the principles of prefabrication and precast concrete. Concrete components, be they beams, columns, slabs or full volumetric modules, are manufactured either off-site in factories or in on-site facilities. Abstract:
M. Tech. Architecture.
This thesis presents the design of a secondary school in the township of Emzinoni, Mpumalanga. The thesis challenges the current school building morphology in terms of spatial layout and tectonics, with the intent of providing multi-use facilities accessible to both the school pupils and the surrounding community. The selected site in Emzinoni, like many township areas in South Africa, is almost devoid of any civic or public buildings or services, just the endless sprawl of small residential units and shacks with the random school rising two storeys above the surround

M.Ed.
The last decade constituted a period of great discovery and change for education all over the country. This called for policies for transformational leadership. Kouznes and Posner(1995:130) indicates that "high policy - that is, major change in a society's sense of direction - is first shaped in an anchoate consensus reached by the people at large." The policies for effecting change in schools are drawn but the problem is: are those policies communicated well to the schools community and stakeholders, are they well understood, are they implemented effectively for the benefit of all in

The wide spread concerns on the access to quality education and the various challenges faced by the public school system in developing countries has promulgated the emergence of low-fee private schools that aim to meet the rising demands of access to quality education by making private schooling more affordable.
