Ayurveda, the ancient science of life originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing”. Panchakarma is considered to be the most eminent branch of Ayurveda, as the name suggests it is a ‘five-step’ process for a complete detoxifying and rejuvenating therapy. Every individual is unique in Prakruti, Dosha, Agni, Koshtha and such other factors. So before administrating any Panchakarma procedure it is must to assess the Agni and Koshtha of the person. Agni and Koshtha role can be explained in 3 aspects- i.e., Poorva Karma (Deepana - Pachana, Snehana and Swedana), Pradhana Karma (Vamana karma, Virechana Karma, Basti Karma and Nasya) and Paschat Karma (Samsarjana krama). An attempt is made in the article to highlight the importance of Agni and Koshtha in all the aspects with respect to Panchakarma.

Abstract:
This exploratory study deals with the depiction of karma theory from Śrī Kṛṣṇa to Arjuna before the commencement of the Mahābhārata war. The philosophy of niskāma karma is a doctrine to consider being the ground stone of the entire Hindu philosophical outlook. The theory of karma is based on the niskām-karma. This research article addresses human beings to give up the attachment and the fruit regarding the karma. The objectives of this research are to highlight the importance of niskāma karma for human beings and to show how Śrī Kṛṣṇa motivates Arjuna to perform niskām-karma. The analysis is primarily based on Swāmī Vevekānanda's karma theory which confirms the realization of righteousness and God from niskāma karma. The researcher has used English translation of the Sanskrit text of Franklin Edgerton as the primary text. The findings of this investigation endow with evidences that the text has used niskāma karma to motivate human beings to do the same for self-satisfaction, righteousness, and justice in society following the footsteps of Śrī Kṛṣṇa. The conclusion of this article suggests that Śrī Kṛṣṇa is a far-sighted first motivational speaker of the earth to improve the activities of human beings and for the establishment of peace, justice, and righteousness on the earth.

Background of the study: The reported prevalence of Psoriasis in countries ranges between 0.09% and 11.43%, making Psoriasis a serious global problem with at least 100 million individuals affected worldwide. It is far more than ‘just a skin disease’ it has an unpredictable course of symptoms, a number of external triggers and significant comorbidities, including arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and depression. Inspite of having recent development in modern medicine there is no specific medication for cure of Psoriasis it can be treated but not cured. Panchkarma(pentad therapy) and Shaman Chikitsa(pacification therapy) in Ayurveda may fill the gaps that exist regarding treatment. This systematic review analyses the role of Virechan karma(medicated purgation therapy) in the management of Psoriasis based on outcome of published research. Objective: Effectiveness of Virechan karma in management of Psoriasis. Method: Published research data were obtained from different E- databases eg. Pubmed central, Google scholar, Research gate, Scopus, Web of science, hand search. The inclusion criteria of the selection of papers includes the studies conducted on the symptoms of Ek kustha, PASI scoring, standard protocol followed for Virechan Karma and the papers were excluded from the study which included only Nitya Virechan karma, only Shnehan karma(oleation therapy), other Panchkarma(pentad therapy) modality like Basti(medicated Enema) etc. Result and Conclusion: The maximum incidence of Psoriasis disease was found in subjects belonging to 30-40 year age group having Vata-Pitta dominant Sharirik Prakriti(somatic constituent) and Rajsika Mansika Prakriti(Psychic constituent).Virechan karma with Shaman Chikitsa showed significant improvement in Psoriasis patients than Vaman karma(medicted emesis)&Virechankarma.

Ayurveda is based on time tested observations and medical experiences. It has immense potential in solving many challenging and unresolved problems of the medical world. Arshas (Haemorrhoids) and Bhagandhara (Fistula in Ano) are the most common diseases occurring in the Ano-rectal region. Ayurvedic literature had mentioned Sastra Karmas (surgical procedures) and Anusastra Karma (Para surgical procedures) like Kshara Karma, Kshara Sutra & Agni Karma in the management of these diseases. In Anorectal disorders, some cases have both piles and fistula-in-ano. It is difficult to treat both diseases simultaneously, leading to a bad prognosis. In modern literature, operative techniques like hemorrhoidectomy, Fistulectomy and Fistulotomy are mentioned. After modern surgery, severe postoperative complications like recurrent sepsis, continuous serous discharge, faecal incontinence, and the high recurrence rate is a matter of great concern. Arsho-Bhagandhara is a rare case in which a patient suffers from Arshas and Bhagandhara. This case report describes the successful management of Arsho-Bhagandhara. Here we operated on the patient diagnosed with Arsho-Bhagandhara, the details of which are furnished in the below article. Ksharalepa for internal piles masses was done on OT, and Ksharasutra application in fistula was made. Ksharasutra was changed every seventh day, and simultaneous cutting and healing of the tract were observed. The piles and fistula track wound healed within two months entirely without complication. This case demonstrated the advantages of Ksharalepa and Ksharasutra in the successful management of piles and fistula at the same time.

Detta är ett kombinerat forsknings- och utvecklingsarbete. Syftet är att öka förståelsen för nioåriga elevers mentala karta och förmåga att utveckla denna. Ett utvecklingsarbete om den mentala kartan ska göras med hjälp av en lektion kring världskartans utseende och funktion.Tankar kring ämnet väcktes i samband med vår B-uppsats Barns mentala karta – av vad påverkas den? som vi skrev våren 2005. Vi har valt att använda metoden aktionsforskning, vilket är en metod som gör oss både till forskare och praktiker. Som praktiker har vi planerat och genomfört ett undervisningstillfälle utifrån en problemställning. Som forskare har vi sedan analyserat och diskuterat kring resultatet. För att undervisningstillfället skulle tillgodose så många elever som möjligt anpassade vi den till flera inlärningsstilar. Lektionen bestod av både diskussioner och praktiskt arbete. Ett, av oss, hemmatillverkat världenpussel var en stor del av det praktiska.Som forskare menar vi att det resultat vi fått fram visar att det går att utveckla nioåriga elevers mentala karta till att innefatta världskartan. Vi har också insett att lärandemiljön har stor betydelse för utvecklingen av den mentala världskartan. Finns inte olika typer av kartor tillgängliga för eleverna, så kan det vara svårt att utveckla den mentala kartan.

Utbudet av bra, täckande vägkartor som innehåller information om vägarnas lutningar är idag begränsat. Att skapa sådana kartor är också dyrt, då det kräver både arbetskraft och dyr utrustning. Tack vare en ny algoritm är det dock nu möjligt att skatta lutningen på en väg endast genom användandet av en enkel GPS-enhet och redan existerande sensorer i tunga lastbilar. Genom att kombinera flera sådana mätningar för samma väg är det möjligt att få en bra skattning av vägens lutning. I detta arbete har ett system för att skapa vägkartor med lutning både implementerats och utvärderats. Resultaten visar att det är möjligt att skapa vägprofiler med lutningsinformation genom att använda redan tillgängliga sensorer. Resultaten är baserade på både simulerad data och ett begränsat antal verkliga experiment.
There is currently a limited supply of good road maps with good coverage that includes data about the slope of the roads.Creating such maps is also expensive, and requires both labor and expensive equipment. Thanks to a new algorithm however, it is possible to estimate the slope of a road by using only a simple GPS device and already existing sensors in a heavy duty vehicle. By combining several measures along the same road, it is possible to get a good estimate of the slope of the road. In this work, a system for creating road maps with integrated slope data from such estimations is both implemented and evaluated. The results show that it is indeed possible to create road profiles with slope data using only already available sensors. The results are based on both simulated data and a limited set of data collected from real world experiments.

Mobile applications are everywhere in today's society, they come in many flavours and are an integral part of many peoples daily lives. The limits to development of mobile applications are expanding with each new idea of how the technology could be potentially used, and it is a field that is most likely going to continue to influence the world we live in. In this thesis, the objective was to develop a proof of concept for a mobile application for social interaction which is tightly anchored to the real world. The idea of the "Douchebag Jar" application was intended as a way for friends and coworkers to stay connected and keep having fun at each other's expense by introducing a karma-based punishment/redemption system.The goal was to learn about mobile application development and the technologies behind it, get first hand experience with app development and become familiarised with tools used by professional app developers. The process of development involved researching and incorporating a number of technologies (e.g. cloud hosted databases) to create an application that was as complete as possible, within the given time frame.As a result of this project, a stable and functional version of the Douchebag Jar application was created and successfully deployed on multiple Android devices. The journey towards the finished proof of concept of the application was a learning experience in which various fields of computer science was delved into.

Precis som titeln avslöjar handlar rapporten om att utveckla ett system som kan användas vid utvärdering av övningsmoment. Idag saknas ett liknande system som vara ett stöd för hemvärnets instruktörer vid utvärderingar som har till syfte att öka förståelsen hos övande personal. Systemet består av en mobilapplikation och en webbapplikation. Mobilapplikationen loggar hur en soldat har framryckt under ett övningsmoment och sedan sammanställs data från en eller flera mobilapplikationer i en webbapplikation där data visas på en interaktiv karta. Kartan ger möjlighet att stega sig igenom händelseförloppet. Ett fungerande system utvecklades och nästan samtliga krav kunde uppfyllas. Tester visade att tekniken fungerade och några ytterligare utvecklingsmöjligheter identifierades.

Denna studie syftar till att lyfta fram specialpedagogers erfarenhet av att arbeta med EHM-modellen och på vilket sätt den kan främja det förebyggande och salutogena perspektivet i skolan. Modellen har som struktur att verka förebyggande och hälsofrämjande med reflektion som en av de betydande delarna.I skollagen står det att samverkan mellan olika professioner för förebyggande och främjande arbete ska finnas på våra skolor. Studien avser att studera specialpedagogers upplevelser av EHM- modellen och vi har utgått från följande frågeställningar.•Vad innebär det att gå från åtgärdande till förebyggande arbete i skolan, med hjälp av EHM-modellen?•På vilket sätt speglar EHM-modellen skollagens åläggande om att samverka tvärprofessionellt för att främja goda lärmiljöer?•Varför har skolor valt EHM-modellen, i sitt utvecklingsarbete? Som metod i studien har vi använt oss av triangulering och den bygger på intervjuer, observationer och en enkätundersökning för att belysa ett fenomen från olika perspektiv. Vi genomförde intervjuer vid två olika tillfällen. Första tillfället intervjuades en specialpedagog och en kurator. Kuratorn medverkade då hen varit en av de drivande krafterna i arbetet och syftet med den första intervjun var att låta respondenterna berätta fritt om sitt arbete med EHM-modellen, från början till nutid. Vid andra intervjutillfället genomfördes en halvstrukturerad intervju med två specialpedagoger. Det skickades det ut 220 mejl till olika rektorer i Skåne län, med frågan om de arbetar med EHM-modellen. Av dem svarade 17 rektorer att så var fallet och därigenom kunde surveyundersökningen vidarebefordras till de specialpedagoger som arbetar på de 17 skolor. Totalt svarade 26 respondenter på surveyundersökningen från webben. Då EHM är ett ungt fenomen inom skolan finns det ingen tidigare forskning kring modellens effekt i praktiken. Studien lutar sig på elevhälsa från då till nu, samverkan och samarbete, kollegialt lärande och KASAM. Samverkan och samarbete kretsar runt människor och hur relationer påverkar de system och nivåer som finns i skolan. Som utgångspunkt ligger därför systemteorin som en grundpelare i denna studie. Resultatet visar på att EHM- modellen skapar förutsättningar till ett mer effektivt utveckling- och lärandearbete runt elever. Modellen bidrar till ett prestigelöst klimat där elevhälsoteam och lärarkollegium samverkar och samarbetar mot gemensamt uppsatta mål. Respondenternas erfarenheter av EHM- modellen visar att deras ärenden numera oftare ligger på grupp- och organisationsnivå. Det handlar om att ändra perspektiv från patogent till salutogent, från kategoriskt till relationellt och från åtgärdande till förebyggande.

Förändring är ofta synonymt med livets olika faser; somliga utgör en naturlig del av livet medan andra sker mer eller mindre oväntat. Oavsett hur välkommen en förändring är har vi att förhålla oss till dess konsekvenser och innebörder. Människans förmåga att anpassa sig till nya situationer och utveckla strategier att hantera förändrade livsvillkor är av betydelse för hennes välmående och känsla av sammanhang. Kulturella aspekter och samhälleliga normer inverkar på hur sociala grupper och förhållanden definieras och värderas. Ett par av de människor som kommer till tals i föreliggande antologi upplever ett glapp mellan sin egen vardagsnära upplevelse och samhälleliga föreställningar. Andra utsagor nyanserar existerande schablonbilder. En övergripande strävan är att lyfta fram styrkan hos grupper som utifrån ett samhällsperspektiv tenderar att betraktas som svaga. I antologin står att läsa om föräldraperspektivet på skolgången för barn med funktionshinder, människors väg tillbaka till arbete efter en längre tids sjukdom, sjukskrivnas identitetsskapande samt aspekter av livet som pensionär.

Barns förståelse för jordglob och karta har varit ett område som det forskats om i flera decennier. En stor del av forskningen berör barnens förmåga till abstrakt tänkande kring jordgloben som modell av jordklotet, samt vilken information barn kan utläsa av denna modell. Även hur barn tolkar andra typer av naturgeografiska kartor är ett centralt område inom denna forskning. Utgångspunkt tas vanligtvis antingen i Piagets stadieteori där barn utvecklas enligt stadier som är åldersbestämda, eller i Vygotskijs sociokulturella perspektiv, där fokus istället läggs på de sociala miljöer som barnet är en del av. Syftet med denna studie är att synliggöra vilken förmåga elever i årskurs 3 har för abstrakt tänkande när det gäller jordklotet. Vidare hur elever med hjälp av jordglob och världskarta förklarar geografiska begrepp samt hur elevernas geografiska kunskaper kan synliggöras vid samtal om jordklotet. Denna studie har genomförts genom kvalitativa intervjuer, där elva elever i årskurs 3 intervjuades. Intervjuerna ägde rum i ett grupprum där både jordglob och världskartan fanns representerad. Utgångspunkt för frågorna hämtades dels från det centrala innehållet i Lgr 11 och dels i frågor som forskare vid tidigare tillfällen frågat barn i motsvarande ålder som respondenterna i denna studie. Studiets resultat visar att det stora flertalet av de elever som intervjuades i denna studie visar element av abstrakt förståelse när det gäller jordklotet. Med hjälp av jordglob och karta kunde de förklara begrepp och även visa till geografiska och naturvetenskapliga kunskaper om jordklotet. En slutsats som kan dras av detta är att elever redan på lågstadiet kan ha grundläggande och i vissa fall även avancerad förståelse för jordklotet. Children’s understanding of globes and maps have been an area of research for decades. A large portion of this research looks at children’s ability to abstract thinking when it comes to the globe as a model of the Earth and what information children can read from this model. How children interpret other forms of maps is also a key area in this research. The starting point is usually either Piaget’s theory of stages of cognitive development, or Vygotsky's sociocultural theory where focus is put on the social environments the child is a part of. The purpose of this study is to highlight the ability students in the 3rd class has of abstract thinking when it comes to the Earth. Furthermore, how students, with the help of a globe and a world map, can explain geographical concepts and how their geographical knowledge can be highlighted through conversations about the Earth. This study has been conducted through qualitative interviews of eleven students in the 3rd class. The interviews were conducted in a small room where both a globe and a world map were present. The starting point for the questions were partly taken from the key content in “Lgr 11”, and partly from questions scientists have used in previous studies with children of corresponding age as the students in this study. The result of this study shows that a majority of the interviewed students have elements of abstract understanding when it comes to the Earth. With the help of a globe and map they could explain concepts and even prove knowledge in both geographical and natural science about the Earth. A conclusion that can be drawn about this is that students already in primary school can have basic, and in some cases advanced, understanding of the Earth. Abstract:
The years around 1970 saw the emergence of an artistic fascination with maps and mapping. In the present thesis this fascination is conceptualised as a mapping impulse, acknowledging how the discourses of art and mapping, respectively, intertwine and merge. The aim of the study is to analyse this mapping impulse and to identify recurring themes and concepts in artworks and texts on art where maps and mapping processes are used as a visual expression and method.  In order to demonstrate how the scope of the thesis is shaped by later interpretations of art from around 1970, three exhibition publications from three decades are examined to illustrate how boundaries between the discourses of art and of mapping are renegotiated from the late 1960s up until the 2010s. The representing line of the map is analysed via the concepts of diagrams, maps, and models, such as the re-appearance of Claude Shannon’s and Warren Weaver’s Communication Model in the Swedish late 1960s, Öyvind Fahlström’s World Map (1972), and Sten Eklund’s paintings on glass from 1968 where he transfers ideas from Wittgenstein’s Tractatus into visual representations. The procedural aspects of encounters between the discourses of art and of mapping from around 1970 are analysed in Hans Haacke’s Gallery-Goers’ Birthplace and Residence Profile Pt. 1 and Sten Eklund’s Kullahusets hemlighet (The Secret of Kullahuset). The latter work is interpreted in the light of the role of the mapping, surveying individual, and in a figurative sense, the individual in the system. Here, the concept of alienation is used, as the work delineates the mapping subject who itself is being subject to mapping.  In this thesis the mapping impulse is identified as a way to deal with territory and truth in Western art around 1970. The map as a sign system and a practice is representative of a recent stage where art in various ways deal with a world undergoing rapid change. The mapping impulse circa 1970 can be identified as a visual regime of cartographic reason, characterized by legibility, clarity and lucidity. This also suggests alternative interpretations of the impact of the linguistic turn in the art of the 1960s and early 1970s, revealing a more ambiguous relationship between text and image.

Abstract:
MSB stands for Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. It’s a government organization that deals with emergencies and crises. MSB has developed a software package where the newest software version is called RIB 2012. The package includes the program RIB Karta. RIB Karta has made it possible to produce an overall picture consisting of different types of information onto a single map. RIB Karta is a very simple map viewer without any analysis functions. The purpose of this degree project is to compare several open source software with the existing RIB Karta. The study will result in suggestions for a possible open source program which allows the use of geographic data internally within MSB and the existing RIB Karta. The programs that were studied are: gvSIG, MapWindow, OpenJUMP, Quantum GIS and uDig. The advantage of using open source software is that they are free, and the access to the source code allows them to be modified to suit your needs. This program is also an alternative to RIB Karta meaning that the program may be freely distributed resulting in a great advantage. One disadvantage is that if major changes in the source code are made, the support may be difficult to access. The license for open source software designed to code should be made available for everyone. Investigations by various open source GIS software have been implemented in the order to present the program that has more features than RIB Karta but still understandable to people with non-GIS experience. When compared with one another, the studies show pros and cons within each of the programs. The investigations have been made after a survey template that was developed after meetings with MSB. Functions, analysis capabilities and ease of use are what have been taken into account. The most suitable software is therefore chosen after taking into account these distinguishing factors From the results of the studies Quantum GIS software is recommended for internal use in MSB and in RIB Karta. Based on its variety in terms of features and good usability we conclude that Quantum GIS is the best choice.
MSB står för Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap. Det är en statlig organisation som arbetar med olycks- och krishantering. MSB har arbetat fram ett programpaket där den nyaste programversionen heter RIB 2012. I paketet ingår programmet RIB Karta som gör det möjligt att få en samlad bild av olika typer av information i en och samma karta. RIB Karta är ett mycket enkelt kartvisningsprogram utan analysfunktioner. Syftet med uppgiften är att jämföra flera open source GIS program med befintlig RIB Karta. Arbetet ska resultera i förslag på möjliga open source program som kan vara en komplettering till RIB Karta. Det ska även kunna användas internt inom MSB för personal som inte behöver ett avancerat GIS program. Programmet ska kunna visa geografiskdata, skapa kartor och kunna göra enkla analyser. De program som undersökts är: gvSIG, MapWindow, OpenJUMP, Quantum GIS och uDig. Fördelarna med att använda open source program är att de nästan alltid är gratis och tillgången till källkoden gör att de kan modifieras efter egna behov. Alla undersökta program i denna rapport är gratis. Eftersom det också ska vara ett alternativ till RIB Karta så är även att programmet får spridas fritt en stor fördel. En av nackdelarna är att om stora ändringar i källkoden har gjorts kan support vara svårt att tillgå. Licenserna för open source programvaror är utformade för att koden ska bevaras tillgänglig. Undersökningar av olika open source GIS program har genomförts för att presentera ett program som har fler funktioner än RIB Karta men fortfarande är lättförståeligt för icke GIS kunniga. I undersökningarna har för- och nackdelar i programmen ställts emot varandra. Undersökningarna har gjorts efter en undersökningsmall som tagits fram efter möten med MSB. Funktioner, analysmöjligheter och användarvänlighet är vad som tagits i beaktande. Det är detta som valet av rekommenderad programvara är grundat på. Från resultatet av undersökningarna rekommenderas Quantum GIS som programvara för användning i både RIB Karta och inom MSB’s verksamhet. Detta för sin bredd när det gäller funktioner och goda användarvänlighet.

Abstract:
Denna uppsats bygger på forskning angående elevers kunskap om sin omvärld inom geografiämnet. Litteraturstudien är baserad på vetenskapliga artiklar samt en rapport. Studien innehåller didaktiska aspekter inom geografiämnet, elevers kunskap och föreställningar om platser och länder samt vilka aspekter som påverkar elevernas kunskap. Resultatet av studien visar att elevernas kunskap och föreställningar härstammar från familj och vänner, media, elevers resvana samt undervisningen som eleverna inhämtar i skolan. Didaktiska implikationer som enligt resultatet bidrar till att elever inhämtar kunskap är att jämföra likheter och skillnader mellan länder och kulturer, diskussioner i klassrummet samt hjälpmedel så som karta och jordglob.

Abstract:
This chapter summarizes the main moral teachings, precepts, and virtues common to the major schools of Buddhism. While these schools often exhibit divergent practices and customs, it seems legitimate to speak of them sharing a common moral core grounded in the teachings of the Buddha originating in the 5th century bce and then handed down largely unaltered through the centuries. A central part of this common core are the Five Precepts observed by lay Buddhists everywhere. The monastic community has its own set of rules and regulations in the Vinaya. Buddhist moral beliefs are underpinned by the cosmic principle of Dharma, of which the law of karma is an aspect. Like science, karma is objective, but unlike science it is not value-free. Karma is concerned with voluntary actions and the good and bad consequences flowing from moral choices.

Bu çalışma organik etlik piliç karma yemlerine zeolit ilavesinin performans üzerine etkilerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada 400 adet karışık cinsiyette Hubbard Red Isa Ja yavaş gelişen etlik civciv kullanılmıştır. Hayvanlar Kontrol ve Zeolit olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılarak, organik yetiştirme koşullarında 12 hafta süre ile bakılmıştır. Kontrol grubu karma yemlerine zeolit ilavesi yapılmazken Zeolit grubu karma yemlerine %1 oranında zeolit ilave edilmiştir. Çalışmada ilk 2 hafta civciv büyütme bölümünde bulunan civcivler 2. hafta sonu barınağın yarı perdeli ve açık hava gezinme alanı bulunan bölümüne alınmıştır. Kontrol ve Deneme gruplarına 0-6. haftalar arasında etlik civciv başlangıç organik karma yemleri ve 7-12. haftalar arasında ise etlik piliç bitirme organik karma yemleri ad libitum olarak verilmiştir. Yem materyali Ödemiş Meslek Yüksekokulu Yem Hazırlama Ünitesi’nde hazırlanmış, kimyasal analizleri de Yem Analiz Laboratuvarında yapılmıştır. Grupların deneme sonu elde edilen 12. hafta canlı ağırlık bulguları ve karkas randımanlarının karşılaştırılmasında SPSS v.16 paket programında ANOVA prosedürü (SPSS Inc., 2007) kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda grupların haftalık canlı ağırlıkları arasında istatistiksel olarak bir fark görülmemiştir (P>0.05). Grupların ortalama canlı ağırlıkları deneme başlangıcı, 2. hafta, 4. hafta, 6. hafta, 8. hafta, 10. hafta ve 12. hafta sırası ile Kontrol grubunda 41.41g, 210.31 g, 662.73 g, 1350.38 g, 1849.52 g, 2750.60 ve 3450.80 g; Zeolit grubunda 41.05 g, 205.47g, 663.06 g, 1407.36 g, 1989.66 g, 2802.90 g ve 3464.00 g olarak bulunmuştur. Grupların 0-12. haftalar arasındaki ortalama toplam yem tüketimleri ve yemden yararlanma değerleri sırası ile Kontrol grubunda 1439.90 kg ve 2.15; Zeolit grubunda 1451.20 kg ve 2.15 olarak saptanmıştır. Deneme sonu ortalama karkas randımanı, Kontrol grubunda %71.20; Zeolit grubunda %72.30 olarak bulunmuştur. Grupların, ortalama günlük canlı ağırlık artışları, yem tüketimleri, yemden yararlanma oranları, karkas randımanları benzer bulunmuştur. Gruplarda belirlenen ölüm oranları Kontrol ve Zeolit gruplarında sırası ile 0-2. haftalar arası %0.5 ve %0.5, 2-12. haftalar arası %1.5 ve %1.0, 0-12. haftalar arasında da %2.0 ve %1.5 olarak zeolit grubunda daha düşük bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak organik etlik piliç karma yemlerine ilave edilen %1 oranında zeolitin performans verileri üzerine olumsuz bir etkide bulunmadan kullanılabilir olduğu saptanmıştır.

Abstract:
Visual representation is one of the key structural elements of a textbook. A historical map is a graphic representation of the geographical area where historical events took place at a certain time. The subject of this research is the analysis of the use of a historical map in the Science and Social Studies textbooks for the fourth grade of primary school. In this paper, we have analyzed whether these textbooks contain historical maps, their number, whether they are titled, whether there are additional explanations or legends, and to what extent a historical map is referred to by the accounts in the text of the textbooks, on the basis of which students should, by independently interpreting, analyzing and reading the map, come to certain conclusions and knowledge. The method used is the content analysis method. The analysis indicates that all five textbooks contain historical maps, although they are not explicitly mentioned as a term in teaching and learning programs. Historical maps should enable students to acquire more permanent knowledge through independent work and map reading as well as develop new concepts with regard to historical content. Studying the use of historical maps in the Science and Social Studies textbooks is important for improving the teaching process.

As COVID-19 vaccines have been deployed and scaled, concerns about vaccine acceptance have emerged. Effective management of the virus requires that communities everywhere buy into the public health measures designed to protect them, including vaccines. Low acceptance presents a serious challenge for achieving sufficient coverage to reduce circulation of the virus and the risk of new variants emerging. Surveys conducted early in the pandemic showed that the Middle East region had one of the lowest COVID-19 vaccine acceptance rates globally. The low acceptance is driven by specific factors in the region and its different countries and populations; these factors need to be taken into account when formulating policy, programmes and interventions. This review synthesises evidence on vaccine acceptance among two key groups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region: teachers and health workers. It draws from academic studies most of which were cross-sectional studies, largely conducted between February 2020 and June 2021, and grey literature reports, including social listening reports. This review is intended to inform strategies for risk communications and community engagement (RCCE) relating to COVID-19 vaccine uptake, with the aim of boosting confidence in and acceptance of the vaccines among these groups across the region. It is part of the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) series on social science considerations relating to COVID-19 vaccines and was developed for SSHAP by Anthrologica (Nadia Butler and Soha Karam) at the request of the UNICEF MENA Regional Office. It was reviewed by Rose Aynsley (WHO) Amaya Gillespie (UNICEF) and Olivia Tulloch (Anthrologica). The evidence review is the responsibility of SSHAP.

With the COVID-19 pandemic well into its third year, governments and response partners are recognising that it no longer makes sense for COVID-19 services, including vaccination, to exist in isolation. There is growing recognition of the potential for integration with other services as the way forward for COVID-19 vaccination. This has recently begun to occur in various countries, but until now, there has been little evidence available as to the success of these initiatives. Service delivery integration occurs where “managerial or operational changes to health systems bring together inputs, delivery, management, and organisation of particular service functions in ways that are contextually appropriate and person-centred with the aim of improving coverage, access, quality, acceptability, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness” (Haldane et al. 2022) This brief draws on evidence from academic and grey literature and consultations with partners working in the COVID-19 response to review current integration efforts (as of August 2022) and explore potentially effective ways to integrate COVID-19 vaccination into other services in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Recent guidance on integration from WHO has also been cross-referenced where relevant. Iraq is taken as a detailed case study due to the efforts already made there on integration of COVID-19 and routine immunisation (RI) services. Global integration experiences and a brief discussion of integration efforts in Syria are also included. The brief is part of the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) series on social science considerations relating to COVID-19 vaccines and was written for SSHAP by Nadia Butler supported by Soha Karam (Anthrologica).
