Abstract:
The notions “methodological competence” and “methodological competency” are differentiated in the scientific literature but their use in the methodological works is not always appropriate according to their essence. There is no gradation of these terms to different levels depending on knowledge, skills and abilities in teaching if to speak about people having different scientific and methodological potential. Therefore, it brings to the necessary to determine the level of methodological competence/competency of pedagogues who teach foreign languages in preschool, secondary, higher educational institutions and scholars-didacts and methodists. Due to the limited number of pages of a scholar paper only the problem of “methodological competence” differentiation is highlighted in the presented work. Purpose is to determine the levels of methodological competence of foreign language teachers with different scientific and methodological potential. Methods. Literature review on the topic of the research, comparative analysis of different definitions of methodological competence, generalization of the scholars-didacts and methodists’ experience. Results. This study analyses the notion “methodological competence” and determines its definition. Three levels of methodological competence have been developed and substantiated. The precise distinction between three levels has been defined and described taking into account the content of seven links of the teaching process introduced by us in the work. The first level of methodical competence correlates with the first level of language and speech competences (Martynova, Bodnar, 2022), as well as with the ability of calendar and lesson planning; the second correlates with the second level of language and speech competences, as well as with the ability to plana foreign language teaching process during the academic year and semesters, with the subsequent composing professional educational programs and syllabus; the third correlates with the third level of language and speech competences, as well as with the ability to plan foreign language self-study process, both in language and communicative and speech aspects, to the possibility of students creating their own speech products in a foreign language. Conclusion. It has been concluded that three established levels of methodological competence will clarify the essence of this concept, detail its components and become objective characteristics of educators’ methodological knowledge and skills.

Abstract:
The relevance of the chosen research topic is conditioned by the need for the theoretical and methodological support of the new «Specialized education standard in the scientific direction» implementation, in the process of the students' research competence formation. The purpose is lighting the structure, content, role of knowledge in the competence of a researcher and the determination of the value-motivational reasons for the formation of competence. The ground research methods are the analysis of domestic and foreign experience in reforming the education system, methods of analogy, moving from an abstract one to the concrete, the generalization of innovative scientific and pedagogical achievements. The article highlights the theoretical-and methodological and methodological aspects of the problem of implementing the «Specialized education standard in the scientific direction» in the framework of postmodern transformations. The carrying out analysis of the well-known definitions of the concepts «competency» and «competence», their essence and interrelation are revealed. Arguments about the structure of competence, its conditionality by the sociality of personalities are expressed. It is about a possess necessity of such competences as citizenship, morality, communication skills, etc. It is substantiated the reorientation necessity of curricula from a simple accumulation of disciplines disparate in the subject of study to a holistic comprehension of reality as the integration of natural and humanitarian knowledge, the need to rethink the very methodology of the educational process in favor of anthropocentrism, and the assertion of non-scientific spiritual values. It is noted the dominant role of ways to encourage students to get knowledge and research skills. The motivational factor for students should be the awareness of the competence effectiveness and its social significance. The condition for achieving qualitative competence is the coherence of internal and external motives. Reaching positive results in research activity is possible technologically in the project-based learning process. The study effectiveness lies in the conceptualization of key concepts «competency» and «competence», highlighting their structure and conditionality, as well as in the proposed recommendations about improving the curricula content.

Abstract:
Nowadays the notions “competence” and “competency” are strictly differentiatedin the scientific literature but their use in the methodological works is not always appropriate according to theiressence. The problem is in the following: 1) some methodologists simply do not want to take into account thatcompetence in something is not only the proficiency of relevant knowledge, skills and abilities, but also the possibility of their creative application by making own product; 2) the terms “competence” and “competency”don’t still have different levels of proficiency depending on the amount of the material learned and the rangeof its practical application. Purpose. 1) To specify the competence approach in teaching foreign languages toschoolchildren and students, as well as young scientists and well-known Ukrainian theorists and practitionersin the field of Philology and Linguodidactics; 2) to determine the levels of competences and competencies ofstudents and their teachers with different scientific and methodological potential. Methods. Literature study onthe topic of the research, comparative analysis of different types of competences and competencies, generalizationof the scholars-philologists’ experience. Results. This study analysed the notions “language competences andcompetencies” and “speech competences and competencies” and determined their correlation. Three levels oflanguage and speech competences and competencies depending on the volume of normativity, the depth ofprevalence and scientific character of speech have been developed and substantiated. The precise distinctionbetween three levels has been defined and described. Conclusion. It has been concluded that three establishedlevels of language and speech competences and competencies will clarify the essence of these concepts, detailtheir components and become objective characteristics of real foreign language knowledge and skills.

Abstract:
The article outlines the expediency of application and the main problematic issues of implementing the principles of the competency approach in personnel management of current enterprises, in particular, related to the process of formation and practical use of its main tool - the model of employee competencies. A scientific survey of the significant assets of scientists and practitioners on this topic was carried out, as a result of which it was established that there is a need to finalize currently unresolved tasks regarding the clarification of the sequence and the development of scientific and methodological support and practical recommendations for the construction of such models, since the given processes are mostly abstract, difficult for practical application due to the lack of clear instructions and tools for the implementation of each stage. The main goal of the article is to improve the process of forming the model of employee competencies by clarifying the sequence of its development, specifying actions at each stage and developing methodological tools for practical application. The process of forming the model of employee competencies was compiled, presented in the form of a logical sequence of specific actions and decisions with the use of a specially developed toolkit, based on the choice of a certain approach and involves the construction of a model of competencies for employees of different categories with a different number of constituent elements. For example, for employees in managerial positions there are 4 constituent elements; for specialists and workers in labourer’s positions - 3 constituent elements etc. A scientific-methodical toolkit and relevant recommendations for its implementation were developed, an approbation was carried out on an example (a model of the competences of fitters in mechanical assembly works was developed). Competences of mechanical assembly fitters included in the developed model were assessed using the "360° method"; taking into account the weight factor of each competence, the general level of their competence is determined. The results of scientific research are the basis for making recommendations for improving the level of employees’ competence.

Abstract:
This article analyzes synergetic parameters of pedagogy as determinants of creative learning, reveals conceptual, theoretical-methodological, functional and competence bases of synergetic pedagogy formation as a new interdisciplinary field of the professional-pedagogic activity. There is determined the author definition of the notion “synergetically oriented scientific-methodical competence of teachers” as a multi-component integral system of equivalent general (universal, key) and professional competences, realized through all learning stages during life by combining, mutually using and adding forms, methods, means and technologies, creating the methodical support of the educational process and based on it, scientific statements and argued results as a consequence of making studies in a certain field of science, solving complicated scientific-theoretical or practical problems. There are defined and concretized system qualities, abilities, readiness to form the professional-synergetic scientific-methodical competence of teachers. There is considered in detail the importance of the professional-synergetic scientific-methodical competence of teachers, conditioned by its functions: for teachers: self-determination, self-motivation; self-reflection and creativity; self-education, self-improvement and self-development self-realization and self-regulation adaptive socialization; ego-protection; self-prophylaxis and self-rehabilitation; for a staff of postgraduate pedagogical educational institutions: treating-monitoring functions; organizational-projecting; methodical, methodological; partner-socializing; psychological-emotional; supporting-realizing; analytic-regulating. There is concretized, that depending on content of the professional-synergetic scientific methodical competence of teachers, educators and levels of cognitive and technological operational components, main functional groups of partial competences are determined: functional-philosophical, general scientific, concrete scientific, scientific-methodical competence and their structure is determined for defining the categorical apparatus and terminological base of this study. There is summarized, that the effectiveness of forming the professional-synergetic scientific methodical competence of teachers in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education, from our point of view, depends on integration of possibilities of its realization in formal, non-formal and informal education. It is vitally important for a teacher, educator to realize continuous professional education, applying innovative forms and methods, forming a personality of students and also demonstrating such attitude to learning on own example, realizing own individual educational trajectory

Abstract:
In modern conditions, foreign language education is positioned as one of the key factors in the socio-cultural and socio-economic development of a country, with its effectiveness directly influencing the nation's competitiveness and international standing. Accordingly, qualifications as an outcome of professional training imply that graduates possess specific professional skills and abilities. A modern specialist requires not only professional competencies in their specific field but also competencies in interactive communication. The development of an interactive competence of individuals within the process of learning a foreign language is enabled through purposeful and step-by-step activities. The development of a system of professional training relies on administrative, organizational, material resources, but scientific and methodological support form the basis of progressive trends. Scientific and methodological support of the process of teaching a foreign language, acting as an important component of the model, enables using all the resources of higher education in the formation of interactive competence of specialists, determines the general methodology of selection, scientific principles, methods, criteria and applied mathematical apparatus. This article provides a detailed analysis of the main tasks at each stage of the model for developing an individual's interactive competence. Particular attention is given to competency-based tasks as one of the pedagogical methods for fostering interactive competence, specifically in the context of communication.

Abstract:
Nowadays, the international research is being conducted in different countries for the determination of the quality of education, indicators of which help to define the leading countries and their competitiveness. To achieve the high results of participation in such international research, it is necessary to correspond the level of tasks offered to Kazakh students with the level of international research tasks. In that way, the article aims to identify the methodological principles for the development of natural literacy, which is one of the components of the implementation of national education. The development of students’ knowledge and skills in a modern school and their education as a creative, ingenious personality responding to a query of the information society reveals the main directions and ideas of the research. The research methodology is based on competence, personal-oriented, and activity approaches. The implementation of the competency-based approach means the readiness of students to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge, skills, and abilities in real-life situations and practical activities. In addition, the personal-oriented approach provides the access to modern teaching, which includes the goals, content of education, and the forms of organization of students’ educational activities. Therefore, the definition of methodological principles for the development of scientific literacy will improve the functional literacy of students. The completeness of the creation of the school education’s national system and, accordingly, the methodological system of education increases the actuality of this considered issue. The development of practical tasks taking into account the objectives of PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) and other international research is the basis for the updating content of knowledge in each subject

Abstract:
Women remain noticeably underrepresented in science despite remarkable gains in other fields, and in this dissertation, I posit that biased assessments of competence are a mechanism for fewer women pursuing - and succeeding in - science. Drawing from status characteristic theory, I expect that women will be assessed - and assess themselves - as less competent in science than men, which will in turn affect important career decisions and outcomes. In Chapter 2, I test whether similar women and men differ in their self-assessments of their scientific competence using an experimental design. As expected, women evaluated themselves as less competent than similar men when receiving the same feedback about their scientific aptitude. Because self-assessments of competence affect career-relevant decisions, women also reported significantly lower likelihoods of pursuing science-related education and careers, although the effect of gender is no longer significant once self-assessments are controlled for. The results suggest that biased self-assessments of competence are a mechanism for fewer women entering science to begin with. In Chapter 3, I conduct an experiment embedded within a survey to test whether a scientist's gender affects competence assessments made by peers, and whether competence assessments in turn affect important career outcomes, such as hiring support and remuneration. The results suggest that women in science face barriers in getting hired and in the rewards they garner for their careers, even when they are seen as equally competent as men. Because women face these disadvantages even when controlling for competence assessments, alternative mechanisms should be investigated. In Chapter 4, I shift theoretical and empirical focus to investigate how the gender of a scientist directing a scientific job affects evaluations of the job itself. Drawing from devaluation theory, I predict that a scientific job directed by a woman would be given less favorable evaluations. Indeed, the results indicate that when a job is directed by a woman rather than a man, it is seen as less prestigious, exciting, interesting, and valuable. The implications of the results and future avenues of research are discussed.

Abstract:
Preclinical research using animals often precedes and informs clinical trials; however, most attempts to translate findings from “bench-to-bedside” fail. There is growing concern that an important cause of failed translations is that much of preclinical research is not reproducible, with poor experimental methodology believed to be a major contributor. Four studies were conducted: (1) an assessment of reported study designs of preclinical experiments published in leading cardiovascular journals; (2) an examination of sex bias in preclinical cardiovascular research; (3) a comparison of experimental practices between male and female preclinical cardiovascular researchers; and (4) an analysis of the influence of journal initiatives on preclinical research quality. These studies suggest that (1) methodological shortcomings are prevalent and persistent in preclinical cardiovascular research; (2) women’s involvement in preclinical cardiovascular research is positively associated with considering sex as a biological variable; and (3) journals can exert considerable influence on the quality of published data.

Abstract:
Following the work of Popper and especially of Kuhn in the 1960s, the attention of philosophers of science has been very much concentrated on change in science. Popper's picture was of constant change ("revolution in permanence") at the level of scientific theories, but constant change in accordance with fixed methodological standards of evaluation. Drawing on Kuhn's work, however, many recent philosophers of science have held that the phenomenon of scientific change is much more radical and far-reaching than anything allowed by Popper: specifically, that there have been major changes in methodological standards during the history of science alongside changes in accepted fundamental theory. The chief problem facing this no-invariant-methodology thesis is that it seems to inevitably entail relativism. If the methods and principles of scientific theory appraisal are subject to radical change, then competing theories or research traditions may uphold competing (or conflicting) methodologies. When methodologies do conflict, how can choice between competing theories or research traditions be rationally adjudicated. How can the methods and principles for the correct appraisal of scientific theories themselves evolve rationally. Two major attempts have been made in the recent literature to construct positions which accommodate change in methodological standards while nonetheless avoiding relativism. These are the versions of methodological naturalism developed by Larry Laudan and Dudley Shapere, respectively. This dissertation examines these two positions in detail and argues that they fail: in so far as they really incorporate the no-invariant- methodology thesis they inevitably embrace relativism. I argue that the way to resolve this difficulty is to reject the no-invariant-methodology thesis. Moreover, methodological naturalists (like Laudan and Shapere) have not succeeded in giving any genuine and convincing illustration of radical methodological change.

Abstract:
In this research we investigate if the use of methodological pluralism in Physics classes can contribute to the improvement of the student\'s cientific argumentation. The activities were conducted with students of the third grade of secondary education at a school in the state of São Paulo. In the research\'s development was used, in the classroom, varied teaching methodologies: experimental and demonstration activities, activities using information and communication technology and projects such as problem solving strategy. The data collection was done through four focus groups and by the student\'s presentations of the project, in order to investigate their arguments about physical concepts studied by the methods mentioned above. For the initial structure analysis of the students\' argumentation we gave emphasis to the constituent elements of the standard Toulmin. Our results show evidence of student\'s improvement in scientific argumentation. Using these data we concluded that the use of methodological pluralism, with the process of social interaction, facilitates the development of scientific argument and it is an alternative that contributes to the formation of more reflective and participatory students in the teaching and learning of Physics.

AbstractThis chapter focuses on policing research, distinguishing among research conducted on, for or with the police and addresses various stages of the research process considered sensitive or crucial. For researchers, police organisations are fascinating subjects, albeit challenging to access and sometimes reluctant to scientific input. From access to the fieldwork and dissemination of findings, several challenges can arise, including those that are administrative, methodological, ethical or emotional. Anecdotes, guidelines and avenues for reflection are formulated to guide researchers in conducting applied research in policing. Although policing is a rich source for criminological studies, police science and applied research remain underexploited. Police and academia need to understand and accept each other’s competencies, resources and contributions.

Abstract:
One of the priorities in professional education, including the training of future geography teachers, is related to ensuring a quality and innovative educational process based on the competence approach and modern innovative educational technologies. In this regard, the present study aims to investigate the pedagogical effectiveness and educational potential of design thinking in the professional training of future geography teachers. The main goal is to enhance the academic performance of students by providing a learning process that stimulates the development of their design thinking skills. At the current stage, over 46% of young people are at risk of social exclusion, as the education system in our country fails to prepare their teachers and provide them with practical and authentic skills. This means that students lack guidance on how to develop their creative thinking and how to solve problems collaboratively. In this context, the study steps on the notion that design thinking as an approach to learning in higher education will encourage the creative thinking of students and future teachers, by helping them develop to empathy. Also lead them to action and metacognitive awareness, improve their skills to solve problems, and develop their imagination. In other words, design thinking will expand the pedagogical repertoire of future teachers. Based on the above, the study offers a methodological framework for implementing design thinking in the preparation of future geography teachers, by the example of Sofia University "St. l. Ohridski". The development of this framework envisages the implementation of the following tasks: identification of interested parties; defining design thinking skills; analysis of available competencies among students, future teachers; construction of a methodological framework for fostering design thinking among students at the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Sofia University, future teachers of geography.

Abstract:
This article is dedicated to the topical issue of environmental education as a holistic cultural phenomenon in the context of the professional training of future teachers. Environmental education is considered as a multifaceted process that integrates ecological knowledge with cultural, social, and ethical aspects of the interaction between man and nature. The methodological basis of the study was based on the integration of three scientific approaches to the consideration of environmental education as a holistic cultural phenomenon in the professional training of future teachers, namely: cultural approach, which allowed to consider environmental education as a holistic cultural phenomenon and its impact on the formation of the general pedagogical culture of the future teacher; systemic approach, which provided a comprehensive study of environmental education, taking into account the interrelationships between the various components of the educational process; competency-based approach, which focuses on the formation of professional competencies of future teachers, guaranteeing a practical orientation in training specialists capable of solving environmental problems in their professional activities. The article presents the author's definitions of the concepts of " environmental education as a holistic cultural phenomenon", " environmental culture of the future teacher" and " environmental educational project". Descriptions are provided for the concepts of innovative projects for the development of environmental education and culture, implemented in pedagogical educational institutions of the Kirovograd region: "Green Campus," "Virtual Ecological Laboratory," "Eco-locations of the City of Kropyvnytskyi," "EcoArt," "Mini-farm." Recommendations are formulated for improving environmental education within the framework of the professional training of future teachers, including: compiling an "ecological portfolio of a young teacher", creating a virtual information space of ecological didactics, introducing ecological mentoring and introducing a special course "Ecological Culture". Conclusions have been drawn that hold theoretical and practical significance for the development of environmental education and culture of future teachers in the context of European integration processes in Ukraine.

Abstract:
Modern information educational technologies open up a wide range of opportunities for teachers of general education institutions to develop students' key competences in geography and ecology lessons. According to the federal state standard for geography, the requirements for subject outcomes of the geography course at the profile level should reflect the ability to work with geographic information systems. The existing level of information technology development allows geographic information systems to be adapted for use in the educational process at secondary school to develop students' spatial thinking skills and create a more complete picture of the world around them. The speed and simplicity of geospatial data processing by means of geoinformation technologies make it possible to significantly individualise the training process for students In methodological recommendations on geography, much attention is paid to improving the skills of independent activity, including the use of geographic information systems resources. The results of mastering the basic educational programme should reflect the knowledge of geoinformation technologies as a tool for collecting and processing research materials and as a source of geographical information. The article considers the possibility of introducing modern pedagogical technologies in the educational process, on the example of geoinformation technologies. The activity approach is the main one in modern education in accordance with modern requirements. The article describes the experience of organising the study of ecological and geographical features of the native land by creating an interactive web map of the region. Such an interactive map serves as a means of combining data and visualising them in a clear and easily accessible form. The results obtained can be used in the educational process at school and university.

Full text
Abstract:
The European Union (EU) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) have stated that education is central to economic and social policy development. Entrepreneurial competence has been topical since 2006, when the European Commission identified a “sense of initiative and entrepreneurship” as one of the eight competencies necessary for all members of a knowledge-based society, however there is still no consensus on what the distinctive elements of entrepreneurship as a competency are. Latvian educational reforms involve changes in the teacher education system in order to have highly qualified, competent, and excellence-oriented teachers who are able to respond quickly to the demands of the labour market and adapt to technological developments. The school reforms also necessitate teachers to create a study process where students develop entrepreneurial competence, which is a new and still vague concept. The aim of the research is to conceptualize pedagogical entrepreneurship through a systematic literature review of the term ‘pedagogical entrepreneurship’ and its components – entrepreneurial skills and teachers’ entrepreneurial behaviour (the methodological approach to teaching, which characterizes entrepreneurial behaviour in the context of education). The present research analyzes 35 publications available on Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ResearchGate that were published in English from 2011 to 2021. The result of the systematic literature review is the compilation of literature for the terms ‘pedagogical entrepreneurship’, ‘entrepreneurial skills’, and ‘teachers’ entrepreneurial behaviour’ (‘teacherpreneurs’), as well as summarized explanations of each term. The results can be used for further research on pedagogical entrepreneurship and its components. Comprehension of the value of pedagogical entrepreneurship in the context of education will create fertile soil for the effective integration and elaboration of entrepreneurial skills for teacher education students as well as already practising teachers that will support them to implement a competency-based curriculum and be competitive in the changing labour market.

Abstract:
Pedagogical modeling of modern educational environments remains an urgent task of educational sciences. Research on the formation and development of digital competence of specialists, although they have common features, differ and acquire characteristic features depending on the field of application. This is due to the focus on mastering specific professional skills and increasing the professional level. We found out that, compared to the social and humanitarian sphere and medicine, the development of digital competence of specialists in the military and defense industry is little discussed in scientific sources. The development of digital competence of military personnel, in particular military management officers, is an urgent problem that requires an immediate solution. On the one hand, the armed aggression of the Russian Federation adds to the criticality of the situation, on the other hand, scientific and technical progress and, as a result, the appearance of new types of weapons and the complexity of digital tools in the environments of military specialists. Scientific approaches and conceptual principles regarding the formation of digital competence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO member countries are described. Problems, contradictions and trends in the development of digital education of military specialists in the system of professional development are singled out. The article clarifies the concept of “digital competence of military command officers” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The authors developed and substantiated a theoretical model of a computer-oriented methodical system for the development of digital competence of officers of the military administration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the system of professional development, which is presented in an informative scheme with a description of individual modules combined into conceptual, target, content-methodical, procedural, technological and effective blocks. The built model ensures systematicity and consistency of the educational process in the digital educational environment of higher military education institutions for the development of digital competencies of military management officers. The technological unit contains a variety of software for training and training. In particular, specialized computer programs and multimedia guides. In the content-methodical block, among other things, the following modules are presented: cloud services; information-didactic and educational-methodical learning tools, multimedia objects, VR/AR tools, AI elements that allow selection of existing ones or creation of new learning materials; Training Course; diagnostic tools, etc. The prospect is the verification of the developed model during distance training.

In the article essence of concept «condition» is exposed and maintenance of concept «pedagogical condition» is described. The generalization of existent scientific approaches the understanding of pedagogical terms of forming of professional and terminology competence of future biology teachers is given in the process of professional preparation. The main aspect of modern pedagogical research of the increasing the efficiency of the educational process problems is the identification, substantiation and verification of pedagogical conditions that ensure the success of the activity. The problem of identifying and substantiating the pedagogical conditions of professional and terminological competence of future biology teachers formation during professional training remained out of the attention of the researchers. The effective pedagogical conditions depend on the clearly determining the structure of methodological support in accordance with the ultimate goal, as well as on the implementation of an interdependent set of conditions. Considering that for the biology teacher, as well as for the doctor, Latin is the basis of professional and terminological competence.
