Introduction: Increasingly, hospitals are adopting electronic charting systems. Recent literature suggests that physicians are spending roughly 2:1 hours on charting as compared to actual patient care raising questions as to whether manual electronic charting is the best use of scarce physician resources. To counter these effects, some hospitals have introduced scribes into their departments. A medical scribe is a person, or paraprofessional, who specializes in charting physician-patient encounters in real time. This article interrogates the positionality of scribes within these transitions. Because print in North India relied on lithography, not movable type, scribes remained an impo

Background: Each year, nearly 300,000 women and 5 million fetuses or neonates die during childbirth or shortly thereafter, a burden concentrated disproportionately in low- and middle-income countries. Identifying women and their fetuses at risk for intrapartum-related morbidity and death could facilitate early intervention. Methods: The Limiting Adverse Birth Outcomes in Resource-Limited Settings (LABOR) Study is a multi-country, prospective, observational cohort designed to exhaustively document the course and outcomes of labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period in settings where

Summary The Greek notarial documents produced in the centuries after the fall of Byzantine rule are important sources for retracing the development of private legal practices under the influence of the different administrative and legal orders which came to rule the Greek-speaking territories. In the vast areas which came under Venetian control, the system of private transactions was conditioned by a tension between the widespread practice of notaries operating as private professionals during the Byzantine period, and the intervention of Venetian administrators who sought to regulate notaries

Early help for children with autism spectrum disorders is the most effective way of intervention for disorders. In the process of identifying children at risk of autistic disorders, correctional work should begin before the official diagnosis has been made. It should start in the process of diagnosis, which leads to the risk of noting false-positive cases. The empirical and theoretical grounds for the necessity for early care in autism spectrum disorders are examined. Features of early care for children at high risk of developing disorders are also de¬scribed. The stages of early diagnosis of

The 16th-century motet Absalon, fili mi has long been scrutinized by modern scholars. The current effort to reassign its authorship to Pierre de la Rue, fueled largely by an interest in removing it from Josquin's canon, relies paradoxically upon aspects of the work that were celebrated as evidence of Josquin's genius by earlier scholars. These aspects, however, depend solely on our acceptance of a peculiar reading in an early manuscript version of the piece, a version that is indeed radical and unprecedented in its notation but is also internally inconsistent and marked by signs of scribal int

Eleven manuscripts and one printed book, preserved in various funds of the Apostolic Vatican Library and in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, are traced back to Cardinal Marcello Cervini’s library. This has been possible thank to the analysis of a characteristic type of decoration of the three painted edges and bookbindings of some volumes, which reinterpret Greek models in modern, and especially Venetian, terms. Such acquisitions are limited to the biennium Cervini spent in Trento (1545- 1547) and were made possible by the intervention of the Spanish ambassador Diego Hurtado de Mendoza an

According to the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) new cholesterol management guidelines in 2019, statin regimen was prescribed to only about 46.4% and 30% of diabetes (DM) patients and patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), respectively. Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease accounts for most deaths and disabilities in North America. This study argues that a systematic approach to identifying targeted interventions to adhere to the statin regimen for ASCVD is sparse in previous studies. Cryptocaryon irritans, known as cryptocaryonosis disease infection in fish, is a significant problem for aquarists because they not only cause the disease but also lead to high mortality in the aquarium population. This case report aims to identify Cryptocaryon irritans infection in four Indian Ocean oriental sweetlips at the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari. Before they died, a total of four fish showed signs of weakness, scratching, excessive mucus, and pale gills.
