ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the racial crossing on scrotum-testicular biometric characteristics of four sheep Santa Ines and four crossbred (Santa Ines x Dorper) submitted to scrotal insulation, following the return of these characteristics to values previously reported. For this, two measurements were made regarding the scrotal circumference (SC), length (L) and testicular width (W) before treatments. The testicular volume (V) was calculated by the formula V=2 [(r2) x π x H]. The pouches were made with double-layer plastic, internally lined with cotton,

The estimated scrotal circumference measurement for Salers bulls at 365 d of age was 29.4 cm. A total of 3,008 measurements were taken on 723 bulls between the ages of 5 and 18 months. Mean scrotal circumference, standard deviation, and 10th and 25th percentile statistics were calculated for each one-month interval between 5 and 18 months of age. Scrotal circumference increased as a logarithmic junction of age and was best described by a quadratic regression equation. We present a case of severe scrotal edema in a 36-year-old male with OSA and obesity-hypoventilation syndrome. A scroll vortex intake is a hydraulic structure that transfers water stably from one elevation to a lower one by generating a swirling vortex flow down a vertical drop- shaft. Scroll vortex intakes are applied widely in water supply, stormwater drainage and sewerage systems. For a good engineering design, a sufficiently large and stable air core needs to be maintained within the dropshaft. Although a number of the- oretical and experimental investigations have been conducted, the understanding and predictions of the vortex flow is still far from complete due to a lack of de- tailed vel
