Abstract:
Quanto e in che modo l’eros informa la scrittura calviniana? L'articolo propone un approfondimento nuovo e originale sul tema, toccato finora in modo complessivo solo in Gabriele 1994, e lo fa in modo interdisciplinare, secondo due prospettive: quella letteraria e quella linguistica. L’analisi si concentra su Se una notte d’inverno un viaggiatore, in particolare sulla scena erotica del romanzo, caratterizzata dalla descrizione del sesso come lettura del corpo. L’articolo mostra come, sia sul piano letterario sia su quello linguistico, il romanzo sia pervaso dall’erotismo in modo più profondo di quanto si creda. Ciò si rileva, per fare qualche esempio, in diversi passi che comunicano tra loro a distanza, in domande a cui si dà risposta dopo qualche pagina, nelle ripetizioni di parole chiave. La struttura stessa dei capitoli, così come la successione degli eventi, segue uno schema che sembra trovare una ragion d’essere nella tematica erotica. L’autore veicola il proprio pensiero sull’erotismo anche attraverso le peculiari strategie linguistiche che adotta e che sembrano essere la conseguenza naturale della sua teoria sulla difficile rappresentabilità dell’eros in letteratura.

L’articolo analizza il fenomeno voyeuristico in due testi di Italo Calvino tratti da Se una notte d’inverno un viaggiatore. L’analisi, preceduta da una necessaria introduzione al tema della visualità calviniana, propone una lettura dei testi in questione incentrata sulla relazione tra sguardo ed erotismo, di cui il voyeurismo si sostanzia. Tale indagine ha fatto emergere le correlazioni tra il voyeurismo e la formazione, in senso lacaniano, dell’io. Dei protagonisti-voyeur si sono riscontrati, in maniera differente, gli sviluppi delle dinamiche di pulsione e desiderio dell’io, e si è tentato di mostrare come in questi testi tali aspetti possano rappresentare la manifestazione di un preciso metodo conoscitivo: di un singolare modo di stare al mondo e di definire i confini dell’io nella relazione con gli altri.

Se una notte un viaggiatore, le dernier roman de l'auteur italien italo calvino est une mise en pratique de plusieurs theories du roman et le resultat d'un travail minutieux d'emprunts de la litterature mondiale remanies. La premiere partie de cette these constitue une approche critique au roman de calvino lui-meme ainsi que d'un texte de milan kundera. Dans la deuxieme partie sont etudiees les differentes sources litteraires et artistiques qui sont a la base du phenomene intertextuel produit dans le roman. Cette etude nous amene a conclure que ce roman de calvino loin de se cantonner a reproduire des citations de textes precis d'auteurs particuliers, realise uen sorte de mosaique de styles et de procedes litteraires qui configure un inventaire du roman contemporain et par la en donne une definition plus approfondie<br>Se una notte d'inverno un viaggiatore, italo calvino, the italian author's last novel is an illustration of several theories concerning the novel as a literary style and the result of an intricate work based upon the re-shaping of several borrowings from literature from all over the world. The first part of this thesis accounts for a critical approach of calvino's novel, in the light of two theoretical writings; from the author himself as well as from mlan kundera. In the second part, the various literary and artistic sources, constituting the foundations of intertextual phenomenon created by the novel are studied. This thesis leads us to conclude that this novel from camvino, far from giving mere quotations creates a kind of mosaistic style and literary process which express to meaning of the contemporary novel throughout the world and therefore, gives a deeper definition of it

È analizzato in base ai numerosi saggi, scritti teorici e all’ampio carteggio dell’autore stesso, dimostrando come il romanzo, scritto nell’ultimo decennio della propria vita, risulti la realizzazione concreta delle proprie teorie. Approfondisce alcuni aspetti salienti presenti come il tema della lettura, il metaromanzo e i personaggi lettori. Inoltre il romanzo è inquadrato nel contesto storico nel quale è stato scritto, prendendo in considerazione le teorie letterarie e il panorama culturale dell’epoca.

In the long course of mankind history, there are many literati and heroes and the writer Italo Calvino is one of them. He reveals the cruelty of the real society and the discomposure of the modern men through the children’s vision and the imaginary stories. He is a stupendously swift writer and his works are also translated in many languages and published in all of the world, of course, also in China. But it may derive a doubt: Have the translated works conveyed the writers’ intentions correctly? China has a huge territory, that’s why we have so many nations and dialects. Because of that, there are always many versions of translated works and the main parts is in China continent and Taiwan, therefore, what’s the difference between these works? And this paper is focused on the comparation of the translated versions of Se una note d’inverno un viaggiatore di Italo Calvino in China continent and Taiwan from the aspects like translatology, linguistics, pragmatics, culture and history. The translator of China continent is professor Xiao Tianyou meanwhile the Taiwan one is professor Wu Qiancheng. Besides, I also found another version, and actually it’s only a chapter of this book, which was translated by professor Yuan Huaqing. In my paper I will compare these three versions to discuss the similarity and differences of the translation, what’s more I will also give my translation of the first chapter.

Cette recherche porte sur une analyse bidimensionnelle du roman de la déconstruction. Nous tentons de lire des récits déconstruits par le biais de deux lectures : la première est la sémiotique interprétative de U. Eco, la seconde est la déconstruction de J. Derrida. Le but de cette approche est de mieux approcher les différents mécanismes qui caractérisent cette forme narrative. Des romans de la déconstruction, nous avons choisi Si par une nuit d'hiver un voyageur d'I. Calvino, Perdu dans le labyrinthe de J. Barth et Marelle de J. Cortazàr. Ces œuvres se distinguent par un fonctionnement particulier dont le leurre et un objectif majeur de l'intitulation principale et secondaire. Le titre n'est plus le miroir de l'œuvre mais un premier piège de lecture. Parallèlement, les incipit ne représentent plus la détermination de l'espace, temps et personnages, mais ils se veulent le concentré du roman à venir, l'incipit se transforme en un présentoir de l'univers fictionnel de l'œuvre introduite. Au-delà de l'incipit, le roman de la déconstruction chante l'éloge de l'inachèvement du récit, la narration est délibérément inachevée pour donner forme à une œuvre ouverte et non close par le mot de la fin. Entre l'incipit et l'inachèvement narratifs, le mécanisme du récit dans la déconstruction narrative est basée sur une fragmentation et une dépragmatisation de ses composantes avec le recours à une digression massive ou l'autoréflexion pour briser la prétention de la continuité homogène du narré. Enfin parmi les caractéristiques du roman de la déconstruction, nous relevons la présence des structures ludiques, le jeu narratif se traduit par une forte participation du lecteur et non un délassement. Le jeu appliqué reflète l'espace d'expérimentation de nouvelles formes narratives tissées entre les structures ludiques. En somme, le roman de la déconstruction nécessite une forte participation du lecteur, un rôle qui lui permet d'accéder à la co-création de l'œuvre puisque le roman de la déconstruction ne prétend pas présenter une œuvre achevée mais une œuvre ouverte qui attend davantage et son lecteur, une œuvre en cours : ‘Work in progress'<br>This research proposes a bidimentional analysis of the deconstructive novel. We attempt to read déconstructive narratives via two interpretations : the first one is the semiotic interpretation of U. Eco, the second is déconstruction of J. Derrida. The goal of this approach is to better understand the different mechanisms that characterize this narrative form. I have chosen two novels of this kind: Si par une nuit d'hiver un voyageur by I. Calvino, Perdu dans le labyrinthe by J. Barth and Marelle by J. Cortazàr. These works are unique in that they include a special functioning of which deception is a major objective, of both the principal and secondary intitulation. The title no longer reflects the work but a first reading trap. In parallel to this, the prologues no longer represent space, time and characters. The introduction becomes a representation of the fictional universe of the work introduced. In opposition to the introduction, the novel advocates the incompletion of the essay; the narration is deliberately incomplete in order to frame the work as an open one and not as a closed one. Between the prologues and the incomplete narration, the mechanism of the essay of deconstructive narrative, is based on a fragmentation and depragmatisation of the components with a massive digression in which the auto-reflection breaks the continuous homogeneity of the narration. Finally, among the traits of the novel, in this type of writing, we extract the presence of playful structures; the narrative game translated by a strong participation of the reader and not a withdrawal. This applied game reflects the space of the experimentation of new narrative forms knitted between the playful structures. On the whole, the novel of deconstruction allows the reader to contribute to the creation of the work. This kind of novel does not pretend to present a complete work but an open one which is subject to different epilogues

A differenza delle altre opere di Italo Calvino, di cui ci rimangono bozze manoscritte e dattiloscritte, il manoscritto di Se in una notte d'inverno un viaggiatore è andato perduto. Il dattiloscritto è dunque, ad oggi, l'unico documento che ci permette di conoscere e ricostruire le diverse tappe della scrittura dell'iper-romanzo calviniano. La tesi analizza appunto questo inedito, per stabilire i tempi e le modalità attraverso cui Calvino elabora e dà vita al suo capolavoro. Al di là delle questioni cronologiche, l’analisi filologica del documento mira a spiegare le ragioni sottese ai molti interventi autoriali sul testo (cancellazioni, aggiunte e modifiche). Se le varianti d’autore riguardano più spesso il piano stilistico – e mettono in luce, per inciso, un inesausto labor limae votato ai principi della rapidità e dell’esattezza – altre volte vanno a toccare quegli snodi testuali luogo di riflessioni teoriche cruciali. È il caso, ad esempio, di un ampio passaggio espunto dal capitolo VIII, all’interno del quale Silas Flannery (alias Italo Calvino) si interroga sulla possibile sostituzione della figura autoriale con un computer: il passo espunto dimostra come, in un dato momento della stesura del testo, il “tema cibernetico” prendesse parte ai vertiginosi interrogativi sulla natura della fabulazione e sul ruolo dell'autore nella creazione dell’opera letteraria. Nel complesso, la tesi individua una serie di progetti e ragionamenti che rappresentano, a vario titolo, dei diretti antecedenti del Viaggiatore: dalla (mancata) rivista progettata da Calvino, Guido Neri e Gianni Celati sul finire degli anni '60, alle riunioni dell'OuLiPo, i cui verbali testimoniano possibili influenze "francesi" sulla genesi del testo. Questa documentazione eterogenea è infine compendiata da due scambi epistolari inediti: il primo con William Skyvington, programmatore interno all'IBM; il secondo con François Wahl, editore presso Seuil, con cui l’autore ragiona sulla traduzione francese del romanzo. L’ultima corrispondenza lascia emergere la ferma volontà di dar vita a una traduzione il più possibile fedele all’originale italiano, in un tentativo di avvicinamento di due diversi mondi linguistici che ricorda da molto vicino la sfida dell’(im)possibile traduzione del «mondo non scritto» in «mondo scritto».

Abstract:
This report examines the ways in which Cesare Pavese and Italo Calvino use images of the foreign woman as other. Specifically, both authors inscribe foreign territories onto the bodies of their female characters in order to confront complex cultural differences. Italy is the site of this gendered inscription in Pavese’s Il carcere, while various real and imagined foreign lands are made female in Calvino’s Se una notte d’inverno un viaggiatore and Le città invisibili. In Pavese’s novella, the satyr-like Concia and the overly maternal Elena are embodiments of Southern and Northern Italy, respectively, and the failure of the protagonist to form a relationship with either woman represents his failure to assimilate into the mezzogiorno and his simultaneous rejection of northern society. In Calvino’s two works, female characters and attributes are consciously used to embody various foreign countries so that the protagonists may grasp the unknown, both physically and psychologically. By linking woman and terrain, Pavese and Calvino attempt to dominate distant lands, which are otherwise enigmatic and incomprehensible, in the typical Orientalist fashion.<br>text

Lo scopo di questo lavoro è di studiare la ricezione di Calvino nel campo della critica letteraria cinese e di esaminare la lettura e la critica di tre opere di Calvino da parte di due gruppi molto diversi di critici: gli italianisti cinesi e i comparatisti cinesi. Il presente lavoro cercherà di interpretare e analizzare i temi esplorati dagli studiosi cinesi nei loro saggi e studi sull'autore ligure e sulle tre opere, così come i giudizi e le critiche sollevate, nel tentativo di delineare l'immagine di Calvino agli occhi negli studiosi cinesi. Cercherà di osservare quali aspetti della lettura e della critica delle opere di Calvino differiscono tra italianisti cinesi e comparatisti cinesi, così come di tracciare se diversi studiosi hanno offerto nuove intuizioni su temi rilevanti nei numerosi saggi e contributi di ricerca di quest'ultimo.Inoltre, cercherà di esplorare se c'è una correlazione diretta tra gli italianisti cinesi e la scuola italiana di Calvino, e se ci sono discorsi e definizioni distorte nella retorica degli studiosi cinesi di letteratura comparata. Spero che questa analisi contribuisca a fornire una comprensione più chiara della diffusione dell'opera di Calvino in Cina e della ricezione della sua poetica narrativa nella critica letteraria cinese.
