Abstract:
The online searching of databases to retrieve bibliographical information is increasingly becoming common research practice in a wide range of disciplines. For the scholar of African studies there is as yet no single comprehensive database covering the literature from the continent on a multi-disciplinary basis; however there are a number of existing databases which serve as a useful and up-to-date bibliographical tool. The aim of this paper is briefly to outline those currently available databases which are of relevance to African studies and to offer some suggestions as to how this valuable service may best be utilised.Online information retrieval services first became readily available to the public in the early 1970s, chiefly in the area of science and technology.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the agenda for library technology for the next 20 years. Design/methodology/approach A long-term historically based analysis of the evolving roles of librarians and library technology, especially the catalog. Findings The rise of standardized cataloging codes, communications formats, bibliographical utilities, and software for online searching constitutes a great triumph in universal bibliographical access for everybody. But each reader is unique and no-one is “everybody” so a uniform service is not ideal for all. The ideal librarian knows both the collection and the readers. The catalog is a guide to the collection and a surrogate for the librarian. The librarian understands the readers. The development of library technology will remain significantly incomplete until the uniqueness of each reader is accommodated. Some ways to do that are noted. Research limitations/implications Research and development should focus on relating the uniqueness of individuals to the uniformity of services provided. Practical implications Strategic directions are indicated. Originality/value Provides a perspective on the development of library service in terms of changing relationships between technology and librarians.

Abstract:
Background Sharing knowledge such as resources, research results, and scholarly documents, is of key importance to improving collaboration between researchers worldwide. Research results from the field of artificial intelligence (AI) are vital to share because of the extensive applicability of AI to several other fields of research. This has led to a significant increase in the number of AI publications over the past decade. The metadata of AI publications, including bibliometrics and altmetrics indicators, can be accessed by searching familiar bibliographical databases such as Web of Science (WoS), which enables the impact of research to be evaluated and identify rising researchers and trending topics in the field of AI. Problem description In general, bibliographical databases have two limitations in terms of the type and form of metadata we aim to improve. First, most bibliographical databases, such as WoS, are more concerned with bibliometric indicators and do not offer a wide range of altmetric indicators to complement traditional bibliometric indicators. Second, the traditional format in which data is downloaded from bibliographical databases limits users to keyword-based searches without considering the semantics of the data. Proposed solution To overcome these limitations, we developed a repository, named AI-SPedia. The repository contains semantic knowledge of scientific publications concerned with AI and considers both the bibliometric and altmetric indicators. Moreover, it uses semantic web technology to produce and store data to enable semantic-based searches. Furthermore, we devised related competency questions to be answered by posing smart queries against the AI-SPedia datasets. Results The results revealed that AI-SPedia can evaluate the impact of AI research by exploiting knowledge that is not explicitly mentioned but extracted using the power of semantics. Moreover, a simple analysis was performed based on the answered questions to help make research policy decisions in the AI domain. The end product, AI-SPedia, is considered the first attempt to evaluate the impacts of AI scientific publications using both bibliometric and altmetric indicators and the power of semantic web technology.

Abstract:
This contribution presents the principal features of ontologies, drawing special attention to the comparison between ontologies and the different kinds of knowledge organization systems (KOS). The focus is on the semantic richness exhibited by ontologies, which allows the creation of a great number of relationships between terms. That establishes ontologies as the most evolved type of KOS. The concepts of “conceptualization” and “formalization” and the key components of ontologies are described and discussed, along with upper and domain ontologies and special typologies, such as bibliographical ontologies and biomedical ontologies. The use of ontologies in the digital libraries environment, where they have replaced thesauri for query expansion in searching, and the role they are playing in the Semantic Web, especially for semantic interoperability, are sketched.

The main uses of computer in small libraries fall into two categories: (a) Communications with other computers for information and resource sharing. Online searching services such as Medline services are the most important application of the ficility. (b) Creation of in-house searchable databases, specific examples of which might include the library’s own catalogue, bibliographical indexes, subject information banks and directory type information. For operating the above mentioned subject, librarians need to have skills in using the computer as a tool in library administration using software for statistical computations etc. The following Dbase Program is for Check-in Periodicals in the Small Library with Personal Comuter. These basic databases will use the resources for Electronic Database Interchange which is a part of interlibrary loan system in future.

Abstract:
The main aim of this study is to highlight the deep relationship between Greek and Spanish culture in order to form the basis for the development of future policies that will lead to the further strengthening of relations between the two countries. In the modern era, countries are increasingly focusing on the creation of specialized mechanisms to shape their cultural policies. The development of cultural policy is an area of countries’ foreign policy and is based on one of the pillars supporting their soft power: culture. The aim of this study is to search for traces of Greek civilization in the Iberian Peninsula starting from the 8th century B.C. when the Greeks were found in ancient Iberia for commercial reasons. Our research then led us to Catalonia, a region of Spain that bases its diversity on its Greek roots. One question we must answer is whether the historical past linking Catalonia and Greece has contributed to the formation of its national identity. Finally, the aim is to look at the dissemination of the Greek element in Spain today, focusing on the dynamics of the learning of the Greek language in Spain, mainly in the field of higher education, since language is an important element of a country’s culture. In this context, an analysis is presented based both on bibliographical research on the evolution of the Greek element in the Iberian Peninsula and primary research on the Greek element, especially in the region of Catalonia. The present study aims to capture the traces of Greek culture in Spain and the ties that unite the two countries from antiquity to the present day in order to lead to new initiatives in the future for the further strengthening of relations between the two peoples.

Abstract:
This paper aims to provide a bibliometric analysis of the literature on oral and maxillofacial surgery, comparing different databases and discussing the advantages, disadvantages, and specific features of each one. A bibliographical search for oral and maxillofacial surgery literature was conducted on Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, SciELO, LILACS, and Google Scholar. Seven different search strategies were used on each database. VOSViewer and Microsoft Excel were used for tabulation and data visualization. Some statistical tests were performed with a 95% confidence interval, which was considered significant. A table comparing the number of articles obtained during seven different literature searches was created. A correlogram created in RStudio showed the correlation between the number of articles in the different databases evaluated. The functionalities of each database were compared. It is recommended to use more than one database when searching for literature related to surgery. Among the analyzed databases, PubMed stands out for its functionalities, precision, and quantity of available articles.

Abstract:
Thoracoscopic reconstruction of esophageal atresia (EA) has become a standard procedure in many surgical centers Worldwide. The existing bibliographical reviews and meta-analyses have failed to demonstrate any significant difference in the immediate outcome of mini-aggressive treatment of EA. Authors had performed this truly systematic review and meta-analysis searching for the new evidence and confirmation of success of thoracoscopy in the treatment of EA. Materials and methods used: the systematic bibliographical review was prepared in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 statement guidelines. Thus, the scientific publications starting 1990 were searched in three major databases as follows: MEDLINE, PubMed and eLIBRARY.RU. Results: the included studies were published between 2008 and 2022 representing a total of 1958 cases that included 1369 (69.92%) open-surgery interventions and 589 (30.08%) thoracoscopic ones. Authors have found no significant difference between thoracoscopy and thoracotomy excluding an increased risk for esophageal anastomotic leak in the open-surgery treatment group (OR, 0.68; 95% CI, 0.46; 0.99; p = 0.04). A meta-analysis demonstrated that the thoracoscopy group had shorter time spent on lung ventilation (MD, -1.83; 95% CI, -3.02; -0.63; p = 0.003), shorter period to start oral feeding (MD, -1.34; 95% CI, -2.13; -0.56; p = 0.0008) and shorter hospital stay (MD, -4.26; 95% CI, -7.03; -1.49; p = 0.003). The data on the long-term outcomes of both thoracoscopic and open-surgery interventions were reported in a limited - insufficient number of observed cases and had demonstrated that gastroesophageal reflux was more common in the thoracoscopy group (OR, 2.82; 95% CI, 1.72; 4.61; p < 0.0001). Conclusion: the meta-analysis had proved that, compared to open-surgery, thoracoscopy is associated with an almost comparable rate of postoperative complications coupled with the exception of anastomotic leaks. However, it is impossible to ignore the significant advantages of the modern method for treatment of EA which is characterized - among other things - by the more rapid recovery of patients after the surgical interventions.

Abstract:
In this paper, we aim to describe the evolution, from birth to extinction, of the Latin scripts of the Taiwan Plains Austronesians, which record the Siraya, Taivoan, Makatau, Favorlang and Basay languages, based on a comprehensive bibliographical survey of the documents, surviving and lost, written in these scripts. We first discuss the background of, motivations for and process of creating the scripts. Using the Siraya script as an example, the paper demonstrates how different usage layers can affect the spelling and document format of a script. From a survey based on published Dutch and Spanish archival materials and other records from the 17th to the 19th century, we compile a total of 51 items of Plains Austronesian Latin documents. A comparison of these items reveals the text formation process of the documents. We suggest that the contribution of Daniël Gravius in the Siraya translation of the Gospels of Matthew and John and the Christian formulary may not have been significant, although he was often later credited as the author. The survey also provides clues when searching for ‘lost’ items, such as the Siraya ABC Book. In addition, we collate Plains Austronesian Latin script accounts in Chinese records. These provide strong evidence of the use of Latin script in Makatau villages during the Qing dynasty. The records also reveal that during the 18th century, there were Plains Austronesian people who knew the Latin script, called ‘teachers’. It may have originated from the schoolteachers of the Dutch colonial period. After the Dutch withdrew, these ‘teachers’ became responsible for the villages’ accounting and administrative documents. The education of Plains Austronesian children was then conducted by schools established in the Qing dynasty, with Han Chinese teachers recruited to teach the children Chinese classics.

Abstract:
Occupational stress is responsible for numerous diseases in the behavioral, physiological, psychological and social field of workers. This study has as main objective to analyze the content of the works referenced, through bibliographical analysis, qualifying and quantifying the data collected on the work stress in the organizations of the present time, from the perspective of the scientific community. Firstly, the concepts, causes and consequences of occupational stress were identified, presenting solutions in the context of human rights, based on the analysis of the predictors of efficacy. Then, the method used was a bibliometric survey, based on electronic research platforms SPELL and SciELO and searching for the keywords were found 167 articles in the last ten years to find out which are the most researched areas on stress, what types of research and what groups are most searched. From the data collection, a quantification of the data was performed. The justification for this research was the authors' interest in contributing to the scientific community and to the groups of workers who are daily exposed to stressors. It could be concluded that stress is extremely dangerous for physical and mental health, as well as for organizational development. Harassment, totalitarianism, prejudice and exclusion are one of the main factors that lead the individual to work stress. In addition, based on research in Scielo alone, the Public sector is the one that most has research related to stress, with 46% of articles analysed. The Health area has the largest number of publications, with 50% of publications. Together, the qualitative and bibliographic researches account for 38%, against 62% of publications of quantitative methodology. This does not mean that stress is exclusive to public health workers, but an indication that the private sector lacks research related to organizational illness.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to show the importance of implementing the didactic briefcases (maletas didácticas) from El Museo del Oro in the EFL classroom as a means to foster culture through the use of a theme-based approach. To this end, a bibliographical review was carried out by searching different research articles master and BA theses in order to know about the implementation of the didactic briefcases in Colombia. Thus, the information presented in this paper is to help EFL teachers to realize how beneficial it could be to integrate the didactic briefcases and Theme-Based Instruction (TBI) in their lessons to make them more didactic, flexible, engaging, collaborative, and dynamic while integrating culture in the curriculum. In fact, some studies showed that the didactic briefcases have been used in different areas of Colombian education, such as Arts and Social Science, but not in English. Finally, the results showed that it is possible to implement the didactic briefcases through a theme-based approach because it allows students to open their minds to their own roots and become more critical when interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Abstract:
In an era of overqualification, Mircea Anghelescu chose to be a philologist, keeping his call on a continuous organic growth. His profile was defined with no stages skipped, as he was, chronologically, a lower education teacher, a librarian, a researcher, and finally a professor. The four stages were defining in the metamorphosis of an intellectual who, regardless of the technical opportunities of the last twenty years, stayed true to bibliographical notes. Mircea Anghelescu was interested in the endoderm of literary texts, deeming literary history as the sovereign subject in getting to know the world. Most of his work start from the belief that writers include epistemological fragments. Hence it can be claimed that reading involves a socio-literary perspective, searching for contexts, yet without overexposing them, to the detriment of an artistic vein. Thus, the interpreter has the task to remedy, like a restoring painter, all warped paintings and to rehydrate the frescoes drowned in incense and candle smoke. To take out from a book depository an anthology of literary works, while also taking a close look at all cultural dimensions, is an audacious undertaking.

Abstract:
Aim: The aim of our systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the risk of postpolypectomy bleeding (PPB) in patients exposed to direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). Methods: A systematic search was conducted by searching the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases using the following search terms: “(nonvitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants or NOAC or apixaban or dabigatran or rivaroxaban or edoxaban or DOAC or direct oral anticoagulants) and polypectomy”. Studies evaluating the association between DOACs and PPB were identified. Results: The bibliographical search yielded 103 studies. Twelve studies involving 621,279 participants were ultimately included (11 cohort studies, of which 10 were retrospective, and a randomized controlled trial.). Pooled estimates revealed a higher risk of PPB among patients using DOACs than among those without anticoagulation (odds ratio [OR]: 6.170, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.079 to 12.363). The same result occurred when DOACs were stopped 24 hours before polypectomy (OR: 8.66, 95% CI: 4.588 to 16.348). No significant difference was noted between overall DOACs and warfarin (OR 0.826, 95% CI 0.583 to 1.172), while for subgroups, dabigatran showed a lower PPB rate than warfarin (OR: 0.582, 95% CI: 0.340 to 0.994). Conclusions: DOACs can significantly raise the risk of PPB, even with 24-hour withdrawal before polypectomy. In addition, a lower risk of PPB was detected for dabigatran than for warfarin.

Abstract:
Latex diagnosis is widely adopted in natural rubber-producing countries to optimize the natural rubber production through a physiological-based latex-harvesting system management. This study is the first bibliographical searching and meta-analysis on the variation of latex physiological parameters i.e. sucrose, inorganic phosphorus, thiols, and total solid content. The study used information extracted from 158 scientific papers. Descriptive statistics, agglomerative hierarchical clustering, and principal component analysis were performed to characterize applications of latex diagnosis, how often parameters are used and interpreted as well as the variation of its parameter values. From 158 papers, latex diagnosis parameters were used in 114 agronomy, 22 in physiology, and 22 in breeding papers. The agglomerative hierarchical clustering analysis indicated that sucrose and inorganic phosphorus contents were clustered together and total solid and thiols contents were located in another cluster. The average values of the total solid content, sucrose, inorganic phosphorus and thiols were 43.9%, 9.4 mM, 16.5 mM, and 0.52 mM, respectively. The percentage of interpretation is 63.3% for sucrose, 54.4% for inorganic phosphorus, 47.5% for thiols, and 41.1% for the total solid content. The low interpretation of thiols and total solid contents question their relevance in latex diagnosis. The low adoption of latex diagnosis in breeding could hinder the selection of activities leads to a limitation of selection for long-term high yielding and stress-adapted clones.

Abstract:
IntroductionPalliative care is an approach that aims to holistically improve the quality of life, care and death of people living with life-limiting conditions as well as their families. In Thailand, palliative care became one of its national strategies as of 2014. However, the access to as well as the quality of palliative care being delivered still varies across the nation, due to multiple factors spanning multiple levels. Consequently, there is a need to comprehensively understand the current palliative care ecosystem in Thailand. This review aims to explore, map and conceptualise the literature available on the palliative care ecosystem in Thailand, and how the service being delivered influences the quality of life, death and care of people living with life-limiting conditions alongside their families. Methods and analysisThis review will consist of two stages. First, a scoping review guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology for scoping reviews will be initially conducted. A systematic literature search using Medical Subject Heading and text words related to palliative care will be performed in PubMed, CINAHL and Thai Citation Index from 2013 to 2023. Grey literature will be searched via alternative sources: Google keyword searching and stakeholders consultation. References of included sources will be handsearched to identify further resources. The population, concept and context framework is used to frame the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This will be further refined after the initial search, reflecting the iterative nature of a scoping review. Articles will be independently screened by three reviewers. A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet will be used as the data extraction tool. Data will be extracted and presented using a narrative synthesis approach.Second, included articles from the scoping review will be further analysed and visualised using a bibliometric analysis technique. This stage involves a computational method, including statistical analysis and content analysis of the articles’ bibliographic details.Ethics and disseminationThis paper describes a protocol for a scoping review and bibliographical analysis. As such, ethical approval was not required. Information relating to the review will be stored with Open Science Framework Registries. The findings of this proposed scoping review will be distributed through a peer-reviewed publication, academic seminars, conferences and patients and public involvement groups.

Abstract:
Research on sustainability in the construction industry is common in construction journals addressing the potential adverse effects conventional practices have in the construction community. Sustainability is addressed through the environmental, social and economic impacts in literature and researchers and practitioners always drive the need for an equal attention on these three dimensions, but not so successfully at present. Sustainability covers a broad content with various suggested approaches arising from different countries all over the world. Previous studies have investigated sustainable construction issues as a global concept and in individual developed countries such as the US, Australia, and China. The aim of this research is to investigate the extent of coverage, by academia, of the sustainability concept in UK construction industry, with a focus on the environmental and social aspects of sustainability, based on the Triple Bottom Line framework. The researchers conducted a systematic literature review, searching relevant articles with predefined criteria in two major bibliographical databases, which offer great coverage of the existing academic journals in social sciences. The study utilised the PRISMA reporting approach and the search resulted in thirty-one suitable articles. The findings revealed that environmental sustainability receives much more attention than social sustainability. Added emphasis is given to green buildings and materials used. Government regulations seem to be the leading driver for adopting sustainable practices, while lack of knowledge/awareness of sustainable best practices is the leading challenge.

Abstract:
Objectives Recent large cohort studies suggest an association between high plasma prolactin and cardiovascular mortality. The objective of this systematic review was to systematically assess the effect of reducing prolactin with dopamine agonist on established cardiovascular risk factors in patients with prolactinomas. Design Bibliographical search was done until February 2019 searching the following databases: PubMed, EMBASE, WHO and LILAC. Eligible studies had to include participants with verified prolactinomas where metabolic variables were assessed before and after at least 2 weeks treatment with dopamine agonists. Methods Baseline data and outcomes were independently collected by two investigators. The study was registered with PROSPERO (registration number CRD42016046525). Results Fourteen observational studies enrolling 387 participants were included. The pooled standardized mean difference of the primary outcome revealed a reduction of BMI and weight of −0.21 (95% CI −0.37 to −0.05; P = 0.01; I2 = 71%), after treatment. Subgroup analysis suggested that the reduction of weight was primarily driven by studies with high prolactin levels at baseline (P = 0.04). Secondary outcomes suggested a small decrease in waist circumference, a small-to-moderate decrease in triglycerides, fasting glucose levels, HOMA-IR, HbA1c and hsCRP, and a moderate decrease in LDL, total cholesterol and insulin. Conclusion This systematic review suggests a reduction of weight as well as an improved lipid profile and glucose tolerance after treatment with dopamine agonist in patients with prolactinomas. These data are based on low-quality evidence.

Abstract:
This paper presents an exploratory and descriptive study on the use of the prospective research applied to the design management to generate innovation guided by the meaning. Innovation has been used as a key strategy for growth and maintenance of companies in the competitive market. However, in most cases, the development of innovation is either usually based on technological change, or on traditional market research. The first needs strong investment and time and the second relies only on the needs articulated by today's consumers, what limits the innovative results. In this context, as alternative approach, prospective research is considered a strong strategy, as it anticipates future consumer’s needs. Nevertheless, aiming at the designer’s work, there is a lack of information on how to manage it to foster meaning innovation by searching emerging opportunities using prospecting surveys. Therefore, this work aimed at the proposal of requirements to improve management of design in companies, by the use of prospective research to foster innovation guided by meaning. First, the research was conduct by a bibliographical review, with systematic and unsystematic phases followed by their interpretation and analysis that resulted in a preset of guidelines. From them, a Delphi method was conducted with manager’s and designers’ experts, to reinforce our review them. Confronting the previous results, the work proposes a list of requirements for the strategic, tactic and operational levels of design management. They intend to improve the use of prospective research within design management to generate innovation guided by meaning.

Abstract:
Objective. This review aimed at searching for scientific literature on mobile apps for the management of comorbid overweight/obesity and depression/anxiety and providing a brief and comprehensive summary of their main features, targeted groups, and relevant results. Methods. A bibliographical search was performed in Pubmed, PsycNet, Web of Science, ResearchGate, and Lilacs databases. The terms “obesity” and “overweight” were introduced in combination with “anxiety” and “depression” and “mobile app (application),” “smartphone app (application),” “android app (applicattion),” “iOS app (application),” “mobile health app (application),” and “mHealth app (application).” Results. The initial search eliciting 204 citations was reduced to 7 relevant papers (4 original articles, 1 brief communication, and 2 study protocols). All publications were from the last five years, most were produced by research teams from the United States. All had adult samples, and interventions mostly followed a cognitive behavioral framework. Regarding mobile apps, five studies only used one to monitor weight and physical activity, one study to provide therapy to improve psychological wellness, and one study to monitor cognitions and emotions. No mobile app was found for the simultaneous management of overweight/obesity and depression/anxiety. Conclusions. The prevalence and costs related to overweight/obesity and depression/anxiety are significant and likely to increase. Very often these conditions overlap; thus, it would be recommendable to treat their comorbidity simultaneously. Nevertheless, no mobile app has been designed for this purpose, which would help to reduce service provision costs and make treatment more easily accessible for patients.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of fluoride varnish (FV) in reducing dentine caries at the patient, tooth, and surface levels as well as caries-related hospitalizations in preschoolers. We performed a systematic review of clinical trials of FV, alone or associated with an oral health program, compared with placebo, usual care, or no intervention. Bibliographical search included electronic searches of seven databases, registers of ongoing trials, and meeting abstracts, as well as hand searching. We performed random-effects meta-analyses and calculated confidence and prediction intervals. The search yielded 2,441 records; 20 trials were included in the review and 17 in at least one meta-analysis. Only one study had low risk of bias in all domains. We found no study reporting on caries-related hospitalizations. At the individual level, the pooled relative risk was 0.88 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.81, 0.95); this means that in a population of preschool children with 50% caries incidence, we need to apply fluoride varnish in 17 children to avoid new caries in one child. At the tooth level, the pooled weighted mean difference was –0.30 (95% CI –0.69, 0.09) and at the surface level –0.77 (95% CI –1.23, –0.31). Considering the prediction intervals, none of the pooled estimates were statistically significant. We conclude that FV showed a modest and uncertain anticaries effect in preschoolers. Cost-effectiveness analyses are needed to assess whether FV should be adopted or abandoned by dental services.

Abstract:
The present study sought to carry out a brief analysis of excessive working hours and moral harassment, with the general objective of understanding the impacts caused by excessive working hours and moral harassment on workers' mental health based on an experience report. From this, the following question arose: How do excessive work and moral harassment influence workers' mental health within the work environment? To carry out this study, we followed the methodological path in which theoretical-bibliographical research was used, in order to critically and socio-historically understand the phenomenon of work and working hours, as well as their construction in society over time. . The research was carried out by searching for works by authors who contributed to the topic on the academic platforms Google and Sciello using the descriptors: working hours; mental illness; excessive working hours; and moral harassment at work. We carry out brief analyzes of work, mental illness in the workplace, its impacts on the worker, laws that guarantee worker assistance, mental illness, moral harassment and its relationship with excessive working hours, debating how the hostile environment interferes in good professional development and lists how to act in order to face these issues. Finally, we understand that most workers do not realize that they are in the middle of a game of interests, influenced to always be in competition with others and ensuring the best performance of the company.

Abstract:
Background Low back pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal problem globally. While spending a longer time in sedentary behaviors is linked to several health problems; the quantitative association between different amounts of sedentary time and LBP is still unknown. This study aims to systematically review studies that examined the association between sedentary behavior and LBP development and LBP-related outcomes. Methods This systematic review and meta-analysis retrieved journal articles published from inception to March 2020 and were obtained by searching bibliographical databases. We included longitudinal study designs, including adult (aged ≥18) individuals with nonspecific LBP, and reporting estimates of the association between sedentary behavior and LBP development and LBP-related outcomes (i.e., pain intensity and disability). Results Sixteen longitudinal studies with 100,002 participants were included in this review (eight studies included in quantitative syntheses with 83,111 participants). The results of meta-analyses showed that a sedentary time of 3–<6 (Odds ratio (OR) 0.95, 95% CI [0.85–1.07]), 6–8 (OR 0.95, 95% CI [0.88–1.02]), and >8 (OR 0.92, 95% CI [0.85–1.00]) hours per day (h/d) was not associated with LBP development. A sedentary time of ≥3 h/d was associated with poor LBP-related disability (OR 1.24, 95% CI [1.02–1.51]), but not with pain intensity. Conclusion A meta-analyses of longitudinal studies indicated that sedentary behavior of different durations was not associated with LBP development. However, the results showed that sedentary behavior ≥3 h/d was associated with worse LBP-related disability. These conclusions are tentative as the evidence was derived from mostly fair-quality studies using subjective measures of sedentary behavior. Abstract:
IntroductionAs the largest and most rapidly ageing population, Chinese people are now the major driver of the continued growth in dementia prevalence globally. The need for evidence-based interventions in Chinese communities is urgent. Although a wide range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for dementia have been trialled in Chinese populations, the evidence has not been systematically synthesised. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to map out the interventions for people living with dementia and their carers in Chinese communities worldwide and compare the effectiveness of these interventions. Methods and analysisThis protocol followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols checklist. We will search Chinese (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang DATA) and English bibliographical databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, CINAHL Plus, Global Health, WHO Global Index Medicus, Virtual Health Library, Cochrane CENTRAL, Social Care Online, BASE, MODelling Outcome and cost impacts of interventions for DEMentia (MODEM) Toolkit, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews), complemented by hand searching of reference lists. We will include studies evaluating the effectiveness of interventions for dementia or mild cognitive impairment in Chinese populations, using a randomised controlled trial design, and published between January 2008 and June 2020. We will use a standardised form to extract data and Version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomised trials to assess the risk of bias of the included studies. Collected data will be fully interpreted with narrative synthesis and analysed using pairwise and network meta-analyses to pool intervention effects where sufficient information is available. We will perform subgroup analysis and meta-regression to explore potential reasons for heterogeneity.Ethics and disseminationNo formal ethics approval is required for this protocol. The four central questions surrounding the use of information are: where to find it; how to find it; how to present it; and how to maintain information availability and information literacy. It is usually assumed that the main source of information for most scientists is the peer-reviewed journal literature. Traditional journal publishing is beset with a number of problems. Although electronic publishing might possibly solve some of these, it in turn introduces new problems. Further problems arise with respect to secondary sources which, in some cases, are being supplemented by electronic archives of full-text documents. One fundamental question that arises when considering any large collection of documents or of records about documents is whether or not to index them, and how to index them. The pros and cons of free-text searching versus the use of controlled vocabularies are discussed, as is the importance of harmonising the Three Rs-related terminology of existing and proposed thesauri. However, there is a further problem that documents pertinent to the Three Rs are not always indexed from this point of view. Authors need to be made aware that, if the information is not provided in the abstract, there is no easy way to identify and retrieve this document from a database. Small specialised databases on the Three Rs in relation to specific subject areas could provide a further solution, especially if they provided references to conference proceedings and book chapters, which are not usually found in the large bibliographical databases. The provision of training in the use of information resources, and the establishment and maintenance of these resources, require investment of money and professional skills. Finally, the future of Three Rs information depends on a recognition that this in an important topic which deserves more than lip service.

Abstract:
IntroductionNeurotrauma is an important global health problem. This ‘silent epidemic’ is a major cause of death and disability in adolescents and young adults, with significant societal and economic impacts. Globally, the largest cause of neurotrauma is road traffic collisions (RTCs). Neurotrauma and RTCs are largely preventable, and many preventative strategies and interventions have been established and implemented over the last decades, particularly in high-income countries. However, these approaches may not be applicable globally, due to variations in environment, resources, population, culture and infrastructure. This paper outlines the protocol for a scoping review, which seeks to map the evidence on strategies and interventions in neurotrauma and RTCs prevention globally, and to ascertain contextual factors that influence their implementation. Methods and analysisThis scoping review will use the established methodology by Arksey and O’Malley. Eligible studies will be identified from five electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, Global Health/EBSCO and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews) and grey literature sources. We will also carry out bibliographical and citation searching of included studies. A two-stage selection process, which involves screening of titles and abstracts, followed by full-text screening, will be used to determine eligible studies which will undergo data abstraction using a customised, piloted data extraction sheet. The extracted data will be presented using evidence mapping and a narrative summary.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval is not required for this scoping review, which is the first step in a multiphase public health research project on the global prevention of neurotrauma. The final review will be submitted for publication to a scientific journal, and results will be presented at appropriate conferences, workshops and meetings. Abstract:
ObjectivesHorizon scanning (HS) is a method used to examine signs of change and may be used in foresight practice. HS methods used for the identification of innovative medicinal products cannot be applied in medical technologies (MedTech) due to differences in development and regulatory processes. The aim of this study is to identify HS and other methodologies used for MedTech foresight in support to healthcare decision-making.MethodA mapping review was performed. We searched bibliographical databases including MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore and Compendex Engineering Village and grey literature sources such as Google, CORE database and the International HTA database. Our searches identified 8888 records. After de-duplication, and manual and automated title, abstracts and full-text screening, 49 papers met the inclusion criteria and were data extracted.ResultsTwenty-five single different methods were identified, often used in combination; of these, only three were novel (appearing only once in the literature). Text mining or artificial intelligence solutions appear as early as 2012, often practised in patent and social media sources. The time horizon used in scanning was not often justified. Some studies regarded experts both as a source and as a method. Literature searching remains one of the most used methods for innovation identification. HS methods were vaguely reported, but often involved consulting with experts and stakeholders.ConclusionHeterogeneous methodologies, sources and time horizons are used for HS and foresight of MedTech innovation with little or no justification provided for their use. This review revealed an array of known methods being used in combination to overcome the limitations posed by single methods. The review also revealed inconsistency in methods reporting, with a lack of any consensus regarding best practice. Greater transparency in methods reporting and consistency in methods use would contribute to increased output quality to support informed timely decision-making.

Abstract:
Filtering and search mechanisms which permit to identify key bibliographic references are fundamental for researchers. In this paper we propose a fully automatic and semantic method for filtering/searching bibliographic data, which allows users to look for information by specifying simple keyword queries or document queries, i.e. by simply submitting existing documents to the system. The limitations of standard techniques, based on either syntactical text search and on manually assigned descriptors, are overcome by considering the semantics intrinsically associated to the document/query terms; to this aim, we exploit different kinds of external knowledge sources (both general and specific domain dictionaries or thesauri). The proposed techniques have been developed and successfully tested for agricultural bibliographic data, which play a central role to enable researchers and policy makers to retrieve related agricultural and scientific information by using the AGROVOC thesaurus.

Abstract:
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a polymorphic, multisystemic autoimmune disease that causes multiorgan damage in which cellular communication occurs through the involvement of autoantibodies directed against autoantigen production. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which have strong protective and immunomodulatory abilities, are obtained not only from bone marrow but also from medical waste such as adipose tissue and umbilical cord tissue and have been recognized as a promising tool for the treatment of various autoimmune diseases and inflammatory disorders. This meta-analysis is aimed at assessing whether MSCs can become a new treatment for SLE with good efficacy and safety. Based on predetermined criteria, a bibliographical search was performed from January 1, 2000, to July 31, 2019, by searching the following databases: ISI Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM). Eligible studies and data were identified. Statistical analysis was conducted to assess the efficacy (proteinuria, systemic lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI), Scr, BUN, albumin, C3, and C4) and safety (rate of adverse events) of MSCs for SLE using Cochrane Review Manager Version 5.3. Ten studies fulfilled the inclusion criteria and were eligible for this meta-analysis, which comprised 8 prospective or retrospective case series and four randomized controlled trails (RCTs) studies. In the RCT, the results indicated that the MSC group had lower proteinuria than the control group at 3 months and 6 months and the MSC group displayed a lower SLEDAI than the control group at 2 months and 6 months. Furthermore, the MSC group showed a lower rate of adverse events than the control group (OR=0.26, 95% CI: 0.07, 0.89, P=0.03). In the case series trials, the results indicated that the MSC group had lower proteinuria at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months, and 12 months. In conclusion, MSCs might be a promising therapeutic agent for patients with SLE.

Abstract:
The value of a company is not only measured by the value of its shares in the financial market, but also by its influence in the media and by how it impacts people's lives. Therefore, you have the value of that brand, its name, and its owner. Although this value speaks very loudly in a society, capitalist or not, there is another value that is not measurable and has a high impact on the external value of a company. It is the value that a company has for its employees and aggregate workers. This is a value that can be measured in the evasion of its staff. However, there is still one more value. Having valuable employees is not a gift; it's an achievement. Getting employees who work for years in the company and have high performance, engagement, and motivation, is more than professionalism. It's affection. And work with affection is not a characteristic of all people. This employee-company relationship requires commitment from both parties. A company, like a tree, is more than it appears to be. Likewise, a person is also more than appears to be. In this context, this article aims to address these intricacies of business-employee relationships, so that self-perception is the basis of a lasting and healthy relationship. The methodology of this work, in addition to long bibliographical research, is research that addresses several issues related to this context and the results are surprising. Thus, more so than professional development, it is necessary to invest in a high-value asset: awareness of yourself. Searching for your value within yourself is a great journey, which must be carefully instigated, in order to promote evolution and well-being within the company. More than professionals, people of character and commitment are needed, and these are also characteristics that must be sought in its employees. This is so the company has a long and healthy life, and the employee feels motivated to grow as a person and as a professional.

Abstract:
IntroductionSteroids are a necessary treatment for hypoxic respiratory failure; however there are many side effects that should be taken into account. A 44- year-old-woman with asthma and no past psychiatric history was admitted due to COVID-19 pneumonia and Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection, presenting hypoxic respiratory failure. After two days of intravenous methylprednisolone administration, the patient presented acute psychosis and agitation. It has been previously described that steroid use can cause effects such as mania, anxiety, agitation, delirium and psychosis amongst other. However they are a necessary treatment in respiratory illnesses and are sometimes unavoidable. Objectives The aim was to examine the appropriate medical response to steroid induced psychosis in patients with acute hypoxic failure.MethodsA bibliographical review was done in PubMed database searching recent cases of steroid induced psychosis using the words (“Steroid”, “Psychosis” and “COVID-19”).Results According to literature, it has been shown that partial or complete reduction of steroid use and/or use of psychotropic has been successfully used to treat steroid induced psychosis. Following the research it was decided to reduce intravenous methylprednisolone dose from 20mg/ 8h to 20mg/12h and start oral haloperidol 5mg/8h the first 24h and reducing the dose progressively as the patient recovered. After the first 24 hours the patient presented adequate response to steroids as well as partial response to antipsychotic treatment; presenting no further agitation, absence of hallucinations and partial persistence of the persecutory delusion. A couple of days later there was complete remission of the psychotic symptoms and the patient was on the way to recovery from COVID-19 and RSV.ConclusionsThere is evidence that suggests that medications such as steroids used to treat COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses can lead to psychotic episodes. It is very important to pay attention to possible side effects when treating with steroids and evaluate the patient history as well as suggest having a follow up visit after the hospital discharge.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared
