Abstract:
cAMP-activated Na+ current (INa,cAMP) was studied in voltage-clamped neurons of the seaslug Pleurobranchaea californica. The current response to injected cAMP varied in both time course and amplitude as the tip of an intracellular injection electrode was moved from the periphery to the center of the neuron soma. The latency from injection to peak response was dependent on the amount of cAMP injected unless the electrode was centered within the cell. Decay of the INa,cAMP response was slowed by phosphodiesterase inhibition. These observations suggest that the kinetics of the INa,cAMP response a

The in vitro efficacy of ethanolic and aqueous extract of selected plants namely Neem (Azadirachta indica), Guava (Psidium guajava), Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus), Mango (Mangifera indica), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum) and Seasum (Dalbergia sissoo) leaves was studied against E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and whole milk culture. The antibiogram revealed that S. aureus isolates were 100% susceptible to ethanolic extracts of only Neem and Guava in addition to standard drug Streptopenicillin followed by Lemongrass that showed 60 % sensitivity. Abstract:
The knowledge of heterobranch fauna in the area of Boka Kotorska Bay is increasing during several recent years. Here we present records of three seaslug species as an addition to the existing checklist of heterobranch fauna in the Montenegro. Doto coronata (Gmelin, 1791), Gastropteron rubrum (Rafinesque, 1814) and Pleurobranchaea meckeli (Blainville, 1825) were recorded for the first time in the Boka Kotorska Bay. Given that the number of recorded species increases with every new study of marine biodiversity, future studies will improve the knowledg

Abstract:
One specimen of Pleurobranchaea meckeli was collected from the Çanakkale Strait in 2014 and two were collected from two different stations in the Sea of Marmara in August 2015. The first specimen was collected at 35 meters depth in Çanakkale Strait, Turkey. The second and third specimens were collected at 61 and 1000 meters depths respectively in the Sea of Marmara. This is the first record of Pleurobranchaea meckeli from Çanakkale Strait and the second record from Sea of Marmara, which provides a new depth range for the species as well as a new record for the area.
