Abstract:
It is difficult to find equally important event in history as the birth of Islam and Arab expansion, although their importance was not appreciated at first. Its appear­ance was a breakthrough in several dimensions: religious, political, economic, cultural and lingual. The article attempts to discuss the reaction of Christian elites to the new monotheist religion. Initially, Islam was not identified as a new, separate religion. It was believed that the invaders would be chased away soon. The invasion was perceived in the biblical context, as a punishment for sins and as a work of the devil. So thought Sophronios, Theodor, John of Nikiu. Other writers pointed out Jews and heretics as the cause of God’s anger (Maximus the Confessor), but also emperor Constans (Anastasius the Synaite, Sebeos, some anonymous authors). A debate between Christians and Muslims commenced when Muhammad was still alive and both parties knew virtually nothing of each other. With time, the knowledge about Islam increased, although it still depended on education, social status, place of residence and knowledge of Arabic. In the 8th century it became obvious that Muslim rule would continue which can be observed in the opinion expressed by such writers as Sebeos, Anastasios, Denys of Tell Mahré or Ghewond. The task of Christian elites then, was to survive in an alien, not in­ frequently hostile environment and to preserve Christian faith. It was even more important when, particularly under the Umayyad rule, the religious policy be­came worse for Christians, which resulted in numerous conversions to Islam. The church must have felt threatened, consequently new arguments in the disputes with Muslims were needed. A form of a dialogue or polemics between two ad­versaries appeared. This can be seen in the texts of Theodor Abu Qurra, John on Damascus, in the polemics between patriarch Timothy with caliph Mahdi (781), homilies of a Syriac bishop from Iraq Mar Aba II (641-751), a discourse between monk Bert Hale and a wealthy Muslim or the answer of emperor Leo III to caliph Umar II (719), to mention just a few. The Christians attacked primarily Muhammad himself. He was accused of being a heretic or fake prophet. His knowledge would come either from Jews or heretic Christians. His adversaries pointed out that he had not done miracles as Christ had. It was also said that his revelation had been nothing but his dream or a result of his illness (epilepsy), or even that he had been possessed by daemons. Another target of attacks was the Quran, which was presented as a falsified Scripture. According to Niketas, it was not created by God, but by a daemon, as a compilation of many, often contradicting texts. It was also criticized as being non-original. Islam, was also be spread with the sword rather than with the word.

Abstract:
This article examines the position of Armenia in the conditions of Byzantine–Sasanian War of 571-591. On the example of activity of Armenian dukes, the author trace the stance of Armenians on the developed conflicts, defines the role and degree of participation of Armenians in military expeditions on the side of belligerent powers. The subject of this research is activity of the representatives of Armenian ducal families in the conditions of Byzantine–Sasanian conflict. The object is the records of the Syriac historian of the VI century John of Ephesus, Armenian historical of the VII century Sebeos, and Byzantine historical of the late VIII century Theophanes the Confessor. The main conclusion of the conducted research consists in inability of Armenian Nakharar to create an independent Armenian Kingdom. Despite the favorable external conditions, caused by the Byzantine–Sasanian War, there were multiple contradictions between the Nakharar that impeded the achievement of common goal. Byzantine emperors and Persian monarchs use the lack of unity between the Armenian dukes for reaching the own goals and retention of leading positions in the region. The scientific novelty consist in comprehensive analysis of the activity of Nakharars in Western and Eastern Armenia based on the Byzantine and Armenian sources.

Abstract:
Jakob von Uexküll not only helped provide the theoretical groundwork on which modern ethology rests, but today he is also recognized as the founder of biosemiotics. Biosemiotics uses the notions ofand model proposed by the socalled Moscow-Tartu School conferring to them a meaning derived fromtheory. Semiotician Thomas A. Sebeok has a pivotal role in this semantic increase. The notions of "modelling" and "interrelation" - implicit in Jakob von Uexküll's research - are pivotal in Sebeok's "global semiotics", which presupposes thatandcoincide. The concept of interrelation can be developed in terms of Bakhtin's "dialogism", extending the concept of dialogism beyond the sphere of anthroposemiosis to all communication processes in general.

Mestrado em Arquitectura Paisagista - Instituto Superior de Agronomia - UL<br>Aparentemente vulgares, as sebes - linhas de vegetação que compartimentam a paisagem - são uma estrutura essencial na organização e no equilíbrio do território. Protagonistas de uma história secular, são um reflexo e um testemunho da evolução das sociedades agrícolas. Actualmente, numa época marcada pelos modos de gestão sustentáveis, elas surgem como um elemento ecológico determinante para o bom funcionamento dos ecossistemas agrários, actuando como um corredor ecológico ao promover a simbiose entre diferentes habitats. O caso de estudo do Planalto Mirandês que aqui se apresenta tem como objectivos estudar e valorizar as sebes, sensibilizar a comunidade e realizar uma proposta de restauro ecológico, que propõe a regeneração da compartimentação desta paisagem. Deste modo, realizaram-se visitas de campo, questionários aos agricultores, um panfleto informativo e cartas de interpretação ecológica. Existem dois tipos de sebes no Planalto: uma sobretudo associada aos campos de cereal em que o carvalho-negral é a espécie dominante; e outra associada aos lameiros, em que o freixo é a espécie principal. Ambas desempenham um papel fundamental na protecção do gado, na demarcação da propriedade, na produção de lenha e folha, no fomento da biodiversidade, na conservação do solo e na protecção contra geadas e ventos. O estudo da evolução das sebes entre 1958 e 2016 numa freguesia em Miranda do Douro permitiu concluir o seguinte: as sebes de lameiro mantiveram-se quase na sua totalidade, pois continuam a ser muito importantes e são mais rentáveis; ao passo que as sebes de cereal desapareceram 20%, pois são menos rentáveis para o agricultor, tendo-se tornado incompatíveis com a modernização da agricultura. Contudo, continua a existir uma paisagem compartimentada muito evidente ao longo do território, visto que a maioria dos agricultores pretende preservar as sebes que, apesar das evoluções ocorridas, se têm mostrado resilientes na paisagem do Planalto

La presente tesis analiza la imagen estelar de la actriz norteamericana Jean Seberg así como su relevancia en un momento crucial de la historiografía cinematográfica: el tránsito del clasicismo a la modernidad. La tesis aborda las diversas facetas y características de su inusual estrellato tomando como base las tres primeras películas que protagonizó - Santa Juana (1957), Buenos días tristeza (1958), ambas dirigidas por Otto Preminger, y Al final de la escapada (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) – así como Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considerada su testamento fílmico. Como figura intermedia entre Hollywood y los nuevos cines europeos, entre el posclasicismo y la modernidad, el estudio de Jean Seberg permite llevar a cabo una revisión de la historia del cine que tenga en cuenta el papel fundamental de los intérpretes o, dicho de otro modo, repensar dicha historia a partir del gesto de la actriz.<br>This dissertation analyzes the star image of American actress Jean Seberg and her relevance at a crucial moment in the history of cinema: the transition from classical to modern cinema. The thesis discusses the various aspects and features of her unusual stardom based on the analysis of her first three films - Saint Joan (1957) , Bonjour Tristesse (1958), both directed by Otto Preminger, and Breathless (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) - as well as Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considered as her film testament. As an intermediate figure between Hollywood and new European cinemas, between post-classicism and modernity, the study of Jean Seberg allows us to review the history of cinema taking into account the fundamental role of performers in it. Or, in other words, to rethink this history from the perspective of the gesture of the actress.

Partimos do pressuposto de que Seberi foi uma área de ocupação tardia dentro do estado do Rio Grande do Sul e, assim, buscamos compreender os motivos que acabaram transformando a porção norte do município de Palmeira das Missões em uma das últimas grandes reservas de terras disponíveis para os projetos de colonização do estado gaúcho. Buscou-se compreender os motivos que proporcionaram a valorização deste espaço, atraindo, assim, grupos de imigrantes de outras regiões do estado e a importante atuação do Estado através da Comissão de Terras e Colonização de Palmeira. E que, num período aproximado de 30 anos, tranformaram o então sertão de Palmeira em uma das áreas de maior densidade demográfica do Rio Grande do Sul. Esta dinâmica popula-cional acabou favorecendo a economia local e influenciando a formação de grupos de pessoas atuantes em cada uma das sedes distritais. Para que pudéssemos compreender a formação do município de Seberi, resgatamos aspectos históricos importantes sobre os agentes/atores que, ao se organizarem, visualizaram a possibilidade de buscar maior autonomia para o desenvolvimento de suas atividades econômicas através da emancipação do distrito de Seberi do município sede, Palmeira das Missões.<br>In this study we analyzed some factors that we consider important for the formation of a city called Seberi-RS. We started from the estimative that Seberi was an area of delayed occupation inside Rio Grande do Sul State, through this way, we tried to understand the reasons that turned the portion north of the city Palmeira das Missões into one of the last available land reserves for the settling project of the State. We looked for understanding the reasons that had provided the valuation of this space, attracting groups of immigrants from other regions of the state and the important performance of the State through the Land Commission and Settling of Palmeira. Who, during a period about 30 years, had transformed the hinterland Palmeira in one of the areas of bigger demographic density of Rio Grande do Sul. This dynamics population finished favoring the local economy and influencing the formation of groups of people operating in each one of the headquarters districts. For us to understand the formation of Seberi, we rescue important historical aspects on the agents/actors who, organizing themselves, had visualized the possibility to search a greater autonomy for the development of its economic activities through the emancipation of the Seberi district of the headquarter city, Palmeiras das Missões.

Att SEB fick göra en kontraktion av sin verksamhet och skifta fokus mot företagskunderna i Tyskland berodde delvis på förändringar i de institutionella villkoren. Följande studie beskriver och analyserar SEB:s förvärv och försäljning av sin tyska kontorsverksamhet. En bakgrund ges till SEB:s expansion i Tyskland samt processen fram till kontraktionen. Empirin har huvudsakligen införskaffats genom djupgående semistrukturerade intervjuer och ställs mot en modell för svenska bankers internationaliseringsprocess i vår analys. Vår studie visar på vikten av att anpassa sig efter och ta till sig skillnader i kultur och marknadsstruktur när man expanderar internationellt.A

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the response of a steel smokestack structure to wind loads. A detailed computational model implementing the finite element method was created in accordance with the available drawing documentation. The new smokestack was placed next to an existing one, thus it can be assumed that these two structures will affect each other. The thesis also elaborates on the problems of aerodynamic and aeroelastic stability of the earlier smokestack; in particular, the occurrence of vortex shedding in resonance with eigenfrequency of the structure, with the use of the program ANSYS CFX. The evaluation of the structure includes survey of the strength and deflections of the structure. The calculations are in accordance with valid ČSN EN norms.

Sammandrag Denna studie behandlar Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) inom den svenska banksektorn, en sektor där ansvarsfrågor traditionellt inte uppmärksammats då banker inte ansetts ha stor inverkan på samhälls- och miljöproblem. Företag generellt förväntas idag aktivt arbeta med CSR-frågor, dock förekommer en strategi att kommunicera CSR istället för att agera, i syfte att stärka legitimiteten i varumärket. Studien belyser frågor kring CSR inom banksektorn, då det idag finns indikationer på att även banker måste arbeta med frågorna. Studien undersöker varför SEB, en av Sveriges storbanker, arbetar med CSR, hur de anpassar CSR till sin unika verksamhet och hur de väljer att kommunicera arbetet i syfte att skapa sig förtroende och legitimitet gentemot omvärlden. För att undersöka detta har en kvalitativ fallstudie genomförts, med intervjuer på SEB och Svenska Bankföreningen. De slutsatser som dras av studien är att det idag finns tendenser som visar att CSR blivit en institutionaliserad norm inom bankväsendet. SEB strävar efter att integrera hållbarhetsarbetet i sin kärnverksamhet för att uppnå långsiktighet. Resultaten visar även att SEB kommunicerar sitt hållbarhetsarbete med försiktighet. Samtidigt rapporterar hållbarhetsteamet till kommunikationschefen, något som tyder på att frågan är viktig ur ett kommunikations- och imageperspektiv.<br>Abstract Purpose: This study aims at analyzing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the financial sector. CSR has been under debate and companies are expected to manage their businesses responsibly. Companies’ tendency to communicate about, but not act in these questions have been discussed and criticized. Companies often see CSR as a communicational issue and as a strategy to build a legitimate brand. The financial sector has not been subject for these kinds of discussions since they are not considered to have a great impact on societal issues, especially not environmental issues. Therefore, this study aims at shedding new light on CSR-issues in the financial sector, since today there are indications that also banks should pay attention to these questions. By studying one of Sweden’s four major banks, SEB, the authors examine why SEB works with CSR, how they translate CSR to fit their unique business, and how they communicate their CSR-commitments to gain trust and legitimacy. Method: To examine this, a qualitative case study has been made, and a semi-structured interview method has been used to collect material. This method has been supplemented with secondary material like annual reports and other. Results: In conclusion, the authors see proof that CSR has been institutionalized within the banking sector. SEB has put much emphasis on integrating their sustainability commitments into their core business, both by integrating responsibility aspects into the daily activities, and by developing concrete projects with responsibility profiles. This is done to create a long-term sustainable platform on which SEB:s business can grow. The results also show that SEB communicate their sustainability commitments with caution. However, the sustainability team reports to the chief of communications, which suggests that this question is of importance from a communications- and brand image perspective. Their strategy to “act first, talk after”, is a strategy that can be successful from a legitimacy point of view.

Teknoloji şirketleri diğer şirketlere oranla daha kolay bir şekilde doğdukları ülkelerin sınırlarını aşarak uluslararası pazarda faaliyetlerini sürdürebilmektedir. Uluslararasılaşma stratejileri içerisinde kuruluşundan kısa bir süre sonra uluslararasılaşan şirketleri tanımlamak için küresel doğan tanımı yapılmaktadır. Bu tanıma göre küresel doğan olarak adlandırılan şirketlerin sundukları hizmeti doğru bir şekilde farklılaştırması ve girdikleri pazarların dinamiklerini iyi okumaları gerekmektedir. Spotify İsveç kökenli bir teknoloji şirketi olarak uluslararasılaşmış şirketlere iyi bir örnek teşkil etmekte ve alanına liderlik etmektedir. İlk olarak 2003 yılında ortaya çıkan podcast kavramı, istenildiği zaman istenildiği yerde dinlenebilen dijital radyo programı ya da ses kaydı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Üretiminin nispeten kolay ve ucuz olması, neredeyse herkesin yapabilecek donanıma sahip olması ve hikâye anlatıcılığını desteklemesi sebebi ile podcast yayıncıları popülerlik kazanmakta ve dinleyicileri her geçen gün artmaktadır. 2020 yılında pandemi sebebi ile dijital kullanımların artması podcaste duyulan ilginin de artmasına sebep olmuştur. Tüketicideki bu eğilimi fark eden Spotify ise ilk defa küresel reklam kampanyasında podcast yayınlarına vurgu yaparak kavramın bilinirliğine katkı sağlamıştır.Bu bilgiler ışığında küresel doğan modeli örneği Spotify’ın ilk defa içeriğinde müzik dışında bir öğeyi ön plana çıkardığı ve 2020 Eylül ayında yayınlanan “Music, Meet Podcasts” küresel reklam kampanyası uluslararasılaşma stratejileri ve stratejilerin küresel-kültürel etkileri bağlamında örnek olay incelemesi ile değerlendirilmektedir.

Geleneksel yargı usullerinde iş yükünün fazlalığı ile uzun ve pahalı yargı süreçleri, tarafları yıpratmakta ve tarafların adalete geç ulaş-malarına sebep olmaktadır. Yargılama sürelerinin uzunluğu ve bu süreçte tarafların katlanmakla yükümlü oldukları sorumluluklar bir problem haline gelmektedir. Bu sebeple dünyada ve ülkemizde özellikle yerel mahkemelerde tarafların barışçıl yöntemlerle çözüme kavuşturulması ve tarafları, tatmin eden sonuçlara hızlı ve ucuz yollarla ulaşması amacıyla çeşitli alternatif uyuşmazlık çö-züm yöntemleri geliştirilmektedir. Bu usuller, bir uyuşmazlık yaşanması halinde hakem sözleşmesinde olduğu gibi önceden; ara-buluculuk veya uzlaştırma sistemlerinde olduğu gibi sonradan tarafların bir araya getirilerek konuşmalarını ve müzakere etmelerini amaçlar. Alternatif uyuşmazlık çözüm yöntemleri, bağımsız ve tarafsız üçüncü kişilerin yönetimiyle tarafların kendi sorunlarına kendi çözümlerini üretmelerini hedefler. Bu politika notunda, arabuluculuk ve uzlaşma yöntemlerinin mevcut durumu değerlendirilecek ve ulaşılan veriler ışığında somut çözüm önerileri paylaşılacaktır

Abstract:
Günümüz dünyasının iletişim ve ulaşım imkânlarıyla gelişen seyri, yalnızca düşünce ve ürünlerin değil aynı zamanda uluslararası nüfus hareketlerinin de yoğunlaşmasını beraberinde getirmektedir. Tarihsel olarak çeşitli göç hareketlerinden etkilenen Türkiye, bugün eş zamanlı olarak hem göç veren kaynak ülke hem göç alan hedef ülke hem de göçlere geçiş güzergâhı olarak transit ülke pozisyonundadır. Bununla birlikte, Türkiye ekonomisindeki göçmen iş gücünün durumu, çeşitli risk ve fırsatların birlikte ele alınmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Zira göçmenlerin çoğunlukla tarım, sanayi ve hizmet sektörlerinde kayıt dışı istihdama yönelmesi, yerel halkın istihdam olanaklarının daralmasına; söz konusu sektörlerde ücret düşüşleri ve iş kayıplarının yaşanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Diğer taraftan, ekonomik ve kültürel sermaye sahibi göçmenlerin iş yaşamına dâhil oluşu ve gerçekleştirdikleri yatırımlar, ülke ekonomisine katma değer oluşturmanın yanında hem yeni istihdam alanlarının geliştirilmesi hem de nitelikli iş gücü ihtiyacının karşılanmasına yönelik önemli katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda elinizdeki metinde, ülkemizdeki göçmen iş gücüne ilişkin verilerden hareketle, entegrasyonun gerçekleşmesinde belirleyici bir parametre olan nitelikli göçmenlerin çalışma yaşamına uyumları risk ve fırsatlar temelinde irdelenerek somut politika önerilerine yer verilecektir.
