Full textThe city of Sebha has known in the Jamahiriya era, an important extension of its urbanized area, its social equipments, its infrastructures and its population. This growth was the consequence of a clear will of the planners to make Sebha as a flagship project and the « Gateway to Africa ». However, the develpoment of the city has been governed by several considerations. Considerations tolerated and encouraged by the authorities, which have promoted segregation pratices between lineages and tribes. Therefore, each tribe was dominant in a district. Since the uprising in 2011, the city bears the traces of spatial and social traumatism caused by the collapse of the state and the dominance of militias. The capital of Fezzan survived at the fall of the Jamahiriya and the succession of the civil wars that fragment her space, favour of the series of reasons that assured to the city a certain continuity and mainly ; the dynamism of networks in the informal economy, like predation of the resources, smuggling, territorialisation process practiced by the tribes of Sebha
