Abstract:
Clay as natural pozzolan is found in the north of the city of Sebha, Libya. Sebha clay is relatively high in silica, and its physical and chemical properties could be referred to as ASTM C618 class N. Sonication treatment is carried out and the treated Sebha clay is used as a mineral admixture in the Portland cement mortar. Horn method 20 kHz frequencies with different powers and different times are used in the Sonication treated. The particle size distributions (PSD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) imaging are used to understand the mechanism of pozzolanic improvement of the Sebha clay after treatment by sonication. This paper shows the physical and chemical properties of sonication treat Sebha clay. The effect of magnitude of sonic power on pozzolanic activity of treated kaolin is investigated. The main aim of the present research is to study the strength characteristics of cement mortar using Sebha natural clay after sonication is treated as a partial replacement of ordinary Portland cement OPC. The parameters are investigated, including compressive strengths .The results show enhancement in particle size and pozzolanic activity of treated kaolin, with increase in sonic power and in the time.

Abstract:
The present study was aimed at assessing the periodontal status and risk factors like age, gender, tooth brushing habit, and smoking among the adult population of Sebha city, Libya. 452 adults, aged 35–54 years, comprised the study sample. 266 (58.84%) were females and 186 (41.15%) were males. Data was collected by interview and clinical examination using CPI of CPITN index. Chi-square test and ANOVA were used for statistical analysis at 5% level of significance. Results indicate that 76.32% used toothbrush and paste; 8.84% were current smokers and were all males. Majority, 52.65% were, detected with shallow pockets followed by 30.08% with calculus, 12.17% had deep pockets, 3.31% had bleeding, and only 1.33% were healthy. Age, gender, current smoking status and frequency of tooth brushing showed statistically significant difference with CPI codes. Health professionals can utilize this data to identify individuals at risk and to target population level interventions.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The city of Sebha has known in the Jamahiriya era, an important extension of its urbanized area, its social equipments, its infrastructures and its population. This growth was the consequence of a clear will of the planners to make Sebha as a flagship project and the « Gateway to Africa ». However, the develpoment of the city has been governed by several considerations. Considerations tolerated and encouraged by the authorities, which have promoted segregation pratices between lineages and tribes. Therefore, each tribe was dominant in a district. Since the uprising in 2011, the city bears the traces of spatial and social traumatism caused by the collapse of the state and the dominance of militias. The capital of Fezzan survived at the fall of the Jamahiriya and the succession of the civil wars that fragment her space, favour of the series of reasons that assured to the city a certain continuity and mainly ; the dynamism of networks in the informal economy, like predation of the resources, smuggling, territorialisation process practiced by the tribes of Sebha
