The resultant "mixture" of wavelengths (predominantly residual blue light from the source and yellow and red from the phosphors) produces white light. Typically, phosphors are coated directly (proximally) onto the blue source. This work differs from the conventional approach by incorporating phosphors in a secondary optic, which is remote from the source. Abstract:
Abstract:
Abstract:
Using a participatory action research methodology, a coaching education intervention embracing the organising principles of a Continuing Professional Development program and the skill acquisition principles of non-linear pedagogy was designed and implemented to determine if the behaviours and coaching practices of sports coaches could be enhanced. This research aims to inform the fields of sports coaching education, sports pedagogy and ultimately coaching practices. It will also provide a practical example of Ecological Dynamics Theory and more specifically a tangible example of non-linear ped

Abstract:
There is an emphasis in current school education on the teaching of thinking skills, yet there has been little research into the modes of thought that are appropriate for secondary school Art students. A range of qualitative methods were used in this study of eminent professional artists and secondary school Art students. Interviews and observation were used to examine the ways artists and students think in going about the art process of finding ideas, conceptualising or developing those ideas and resolving those ideas in the production of artworks. Eight modes of thought, each with numerous

Abstract:
This self-study examined the learning that emerged from a change in teaching assignment coupled with self-initiated, teacher-led professional development in order to understand a high school science teacher's development as a teacher. The two participants in the study were the teacher/researcher, an experienced high school biology teacher who was taking up a new assignment teaching biotechnology, an advanced science course; and a first-year teacher assigned to teach biotechnology, who served as collaborator in the professional development and critical friend in the study.
