Full textThe financial system is considered one of the sectors where the greatest problems of information asymmetry occur, this is due to the fact that it is the financial entities that know with greater precision the real situation of the company, and it is the client and the investors who they have the greatest need for clear, accurate and reliable information. Within the financial sector, credibility means that financial institutions make their management and corporate governance practices transparent so that they are disseminated in order to mitigate investment risk by investors and their clients. for both deposits and loans. Thus, corporate transparency is presented as a means to explain all the sources of value of companies, considered this as a determining element in the efficient allocation of resources and where the timely availability of information is sought to generate trust and reduce costs. information asymmetry problems. In Peru, there are previous studies on corporate transparency directed at the banking and microfinance sector, so this study seeks to complement previous studies under the development of a corporate transparency index for the financial sector, taking as a reference the public information of the entities published on the portals and main websites of regulatory entities. The study has been carried out under a quantitative research approach, non-experimental descriptive scope, applied to a sample of 14 financial companies regulated by the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance for the year 2020, where the corporate transparency index has been developed to the financial sector based on the manual for the construction of composite indicators of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Among the results obtained, high compliance was found by the financial sector in terms of corporate transparency, being the Financial Information and Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility domains the ones that achieved the best results, and the Financial Company domain the one that reached the lower performance.

Full textThe present Strategic Plan for the Retail Financial Sector has been made based on the methodology of the sequential model of the Strategic Process developed by Dr. Fernando D'Alessio. As a result of this process, strategies have been formulated to improve the Retail Financial Sector and its importance in the financial inclusion of Peru, taking into consideration the dynamism of the Financial Sector. In this way, the vision set out in the Strategic Plan for the Retail Financial Sector establishes that by 2025, the Retail Financial Sector may reach a 41% participation in Peru's financial inclusion, providing access to credit at unattended socioeconomic levels of the population, promoting digital financial instruments. This will be achieved through penetration in the market with new establishments in Lima addressing NSE C and D and provinces, in addition to the use of social networks, creating strategic alliances with local and commercial establishments that offer products different from those of retail stores to obtain benefits crossed through communication by awareness campaigns for the use of online channels and by the agencies. With the aim of investing in technological innovation to create a simple and fast sales platform (i.e., big data) that allows increasing the number of card and credit users preparing better personalized offers, increase the value attributes of the financial products offered. Finally, throughout the plan the necessary participation of the main companies of the Retail Financial Sector is established jointly with the Peruvian State through the Multisectorial Commission of Financial Inclusion, taking into consideration that the growth of the Retail Financial Sector is a great opportunity for financial inclusion that will allow Peruvian society to improve their quality of life and grow steadily.

The Financial Sector of Peru is critical for national economic development as it meets the vital role of transferring funds or saving surplus to deficit units. Sector which currently its quality is unknown, being essential to provide services to clients each year are more demanding and better informed. Herein lies the importance of this research, which not only allowed to know what level of quality they have the financial institutions of Peru, but also identify whether there is a relationship between the implementation of the ISO 9001 standards and quality level. An investigation of descriptive and explanatory approach is presented, to seek to establish whether there is relationship between an independent variable and a dependent. Where quality is being measured through nine factors, which were defined by Benzaquén (2013): (a) Senior Management, (b) Quality Planning, (c) Audit and Quality Assessment, (d) Design products, (e) Quality Management Providers (f) Control and Process Improvement, (g) Education and Training, (h) and Quality Circles (i) Approach to Customer Satisfaction. The questionnaire TQM has been used to interview a sample of 185 agencies, in 37 financial institutions from a population of 3,203 offices including banks, as well as municipal or rural saving entities. Conclusions reveal that for these companies there is a negative relationship between the implementation of the ISO 9001 standards and the level on the nine success quality factors. It was also found that the quality in the financial sector is high and that this is probably due to it being a sector with highly standardized processes and highly supervised by various entities, which have implemented TQM through different systems.

Full textThe globalization in which society lives and develops has allowed them to have access to more information and knowledge, enjoy greater benefits at all levels and be more critical in terms of the quality of the products and services that are offered to them (De Cárdenas & Jiménez, 2007). Likewise, the Peruvian financial sector has also been impacted by consumers who have updated and increased their expectations and requirements when carrying out some type of transaction (Lizarzaburu, 2016). In that sense, the importance of research lies in knowing the level of quality in companies in the financial sector in a situation of health crisis; and explain if there are significant differences between companies that have QMS with ISO 9001 and those that have their own systems. The research is descriptive and explanatory. Descriptive given that information is collected, processed and presented on the level of quality in companies in the financial sector; and explanatory because it is analyzed, discussed and supported if there is a correlation between the level of quality and the presence of the ISO 9001 certification. The focus of the research is quantitative and the design is transectional; because the information was collected without manipulating any variable and in a single moment. The instrument used is a TQM questionnaire designed by Benzaquen (2013) based on the nine elements mentioned in his research: Leadership (X1), (b) Quality Planning, (c) Quality Audit and Evaluation, (d) )) Product Design, (e) Supplier Quality Management, (f) Process Control and Improvement, (g) Education and Training, (h) Quality Circles and (i) Focus on Customer Satisfaction. In addition, a questionnaire of 20 questions was asked to know the level of preparation to face the COVID-19 crisis. The selected population were the 16 institutions of the multiple banking and state banking subsectors; which represent 90% of the total assets of the financial sector. It is concluded that for the multiple and state banking sector there is a significant difference between the companies that have a QMS and those that do not, in four factors; which are: Leadership (X1), Quality Planning (X2), Supplier Quality Management (X5) and Education and Training (X7). This advantage is attributed to the fact that the accreditation of ISO 9001: 2015 has requirements directly related to these factors that are not necessarily regulatory for the sector. On the contrary, it is observed that there is no significant difference for five of the factors; which are: Quality audit and evaluation (X3), Product design (X4), Process control and improvement (X6), Quality circle (X8) and Focus on customer satisfaction (X9). The parity of the results in these factors is mainly attributed to two reasons: (a) they are aspects evaluated and supervised also by the financial sector regulator, SBS and (b) within the sector, the digital transformation and financial inclusion initiatives are in growth, which encourages all entities to streamline their processes and strengthen their focus on the customer.

Full textThe objective of this research work is to identify the relationships between the index of corporate information disclosure through the websites of Peruvian financial institutions listed on the Lima Stock Exchange and the factors or variables related to these institutions, which influence on that disclosure index. For this, a non-experimental investigation of correlational scope was carried out with a quantitative approach and with a transversal analysis process. This study aims to provide a first theoretical and practical contribution for an important sector of the national economy. For this study, 32 financial institutions were selected and the measurement instrument of corporate disclosure proposed by professors Xiao, Yang and Chow in 2004 was applied. For the collection of data, secondary sources such as websites of financial institutions and regulatory entities such as the “Superintendencia de Mercado de Valores”, the “Bolsa de Valores de Lima” and the “Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP” were used. As a result of the investigation, an index of corporate information disclosure was obtained for each entity and with this, a ranking. In addition, based on previous studies conducted in different parts of the world, seven factors or characteristics of Peruvian financial institutions were selected. Then, through a multivariable regression analysis, a positive and significant relationship between the disclosure index with the size of the company and with the profitability of its assets was found. In turn, a negative and significant relationship was found with respect to delinquency rate.

Full textThe Total Quality Management is considered as a management indicator of importance. In this sense, researchers such as: Sila, Ebrahimpour, Li, Alistair and Harrison have contributed to their research work by developing a measurement tool that allows the evaluation and management of TQM. In this quantitative investigation, the level of compliance was analyzed in the nine success factors of the Total Quality Management (TQM) in Financial Sector companies that includes supervised companies: banks, financiers, edpymes, cajas Municipal, rural and nonsupervised banks: such as savings and credit cooperatives and NGOs in the department of Ayacucho. Taking into consideration that is the department where more than 50 offices operate between financial and non-financial institutions in Peru. It should be noted that the present investigation is the first one to be carried out in the Ayacucho region The instrument used for data collection was the Benzaquen (2013a) survey consisting of 35 questions related to each of the nine success factors of the TQM, the study was applied on a sample of 54 surveys conducted to the managers of Agency or department heads of Ayacucho from supervised and unsupervised institutions of the financial system. The results obtained indicated that the financial sector of Ayacucho, 94% of the total of respondents answered that they do not have ISO, has an average value of the quality level of 3.77 compared to 3.61 for companies without ISO (Benzaquen, 2013b). This Indicates that the sector develops average levels in quality practices, confirming that companies have been making few efforts to consolidate processes that allow an improvement in quality. Finally, we consider the importance of the present research to improve the quality of financial companies in the department of Ayacucho with the objective of applying and obtaining a plan to incorporate a quality system, especially to maintain a constant growth in its portfolio of placements on a quality management basis

Full textThis is a descriptive research and qualitative approach, which was developed using the methodology of case analysis, through in-depth interviews in three banks. This was achieved the main objective that was defined as identifying good corporate social responsibility practices in the Peruvian financial sector. This led to an extensive review of the literature, through which different aspects of CSR were defined, such as the involvement of stakeholders or interest groups, the integration between CSR and business strategy, or the participation of the board of directors and of senior management, among others. After interviewing senior officials from three banks, who work directly in the area of social responsibility, we proceeded to find similarities and differences in their responses. Based on the results of the interviews, it was concluded that CSR practices are developed in banks, which obey a comprehensive program and, therefore, are not isolated activities, although in most cases they are not integrated with the general strategy of the company. The good corporate social responsibility practices that have been identified in the research are: (a) knowledge of the stakeholders, (b) prioritization of CSR programs or projects related to the environment and the community, (c) integration of CSR with the business strategy, (d) involvement of the head management, (e) allocation of budget to CSR activities, (f) establishment of alliances with institutions, (g) approval with suppliers and (h) establishment of indicators in order to measure the impact. It was also known that CSR practices collaborate with workers from different areas of the banks, and also alliances are made with external entities. For banks, CSR practices have a positive effect on the perception that clients and the market in general have of the institution, but do not know if there is a direct effect on profitability, since this is not measured.

This research is focused on the study of female executives in the corporate governance of entities in the Peruvian Financial Sector. For such purpose, a qualitative analysis was performed on 27 cases of female executives who hold corporate governance positions in these entities, in order to describe their demographic profile, education, labor and family backgrounds, the reasons that have driven them and the obstacles they have faced. As part of the investigation process, it was found that female executives who are part of the corporate governance system in the Peruvian Financial Sector are mostly married with children, and declared that they felt motivated by an urge to strive for professional achievements, as well as the possibility of improving their families’ quality of life. The female executives are not conscious of the obstacles they face; however, they describe episodes involving barriers and discrimination in their professional careers during the interviews. Furthermore, during the fieldwork, other factors were identified in addition to those originally included in the investigation questions which have enriched the investigation, such as suggesting actions to be promoted in order to foster women’s participation in corporate governance in the sector. Although the Peruvian Financial Sector has been adopting good corporate governance practices, the investigation results show that female executives’ participation in corporate governance is still rare, with local banks with European parent companies accounting for the highest number of female executives. Finally, the research attempts to contribute to the existing knowledge on a topic that has been the subject of very few previous publications in Peru, particularly in the financial sector, in order to promote women’s growing participation in the country’s economic and social development

The financial derivates instruments, described in the accounting regulations IAS 39 and now in the IFRS 9, have as main function, cover the Company from the Exchange rate or to be used as speculation instruments to gain financial income. The legislation (IAS 39) allows the companies to use hedge accounting method, which recognizes the effect of the compensation of the cash flows affected by the variation of the hedge instrument’s fair value in the Profit & Loss Statement. Starting 2018, the accounting legislation will be ruled by the IFRS 9, which introduces changes in this method but will let the companies still used the IAS 39 parameters to their benefit. From the application made to the financial hedge instruments, our resulting analysis about the effect obtained by their used, must be restrained by a proper “hedge designed” that will allow to the companies, use these financial instruments with more profitably purpose in the use of the country’s economic prospects to their favor and a percentage of coverage more suitable on the contract.

Full textData analytics allows organizations in the financial sector to gain a competitive advantage through processes aimed at obtaining data, processing them and displaying them as valuable information to understand the behavior of their clients and to be prepared against risks as money laundering, credit fraud, among others. However, organizations cannot easily identify gaps related to personnel, information systems and business processes that hinder the improvement of their data analytics environment. In this context, maturity models evaluate, based on defined criteria, the current state of an organization and identify its maturity level in order to improve based on the findings. In this paper, a maturity model is proposed to identify gaps in analytics environment of financial companies that lead to the reduction of these. This model includes artifacts and evaluation criteria focused on technology, governance, data management, culture and analytics itself, which gives a broader and structured diagnosis process with respect to the analytics environment. The proposed model was tested in three companies of Peruvian financial sector and the results suggest that the specialists obtained a clearer perspective than their initial thoughts on the situation of the analytics environment of their companies.

Arderiu, Calvo Amadeo.

Full textThe correspondent banking agent, understood as a third party outside the financial system that provides certain banking services (SBS, 2008), is one of the channels aligned to the National Financial Inclusion Strategy – ENIF (acronym in Spanish), which has three pillars: access, use and quality of financial services (MEF, 2015). This channel, recognized for its cost efficiency (BCP, 2018), has had an important growth nationwide in the last decade (ASBANC, 2017). This channel has been generating increasing attention; however, there is a research gap due to the lack of published studies that have assessed its quality of service. For this reason, the present study will use the SERVQUAL tool to measure the quality of service in correspondent banking agent of certain geographical areas of Metropolitan Lima and the Province of Callao, called as “peripherals”. This instrument measures the quality of service through five dimensions (tangibility, assurance, tangible, empathy and responsiveness), contrasting user expectations with their perceptions (Parasuraman, 1988). The study was carried out by adapting the questionnaire of the instrument, to be applied to 384 individuals between 18 to 64 years old, who qualify as recurring users of this service. The results obtained validate the suitability of the instrument to measure the quality of the service in this channel, showing that there is an impact in each of the dimensions. The largest gaps between user’s expectations and perceptions were found in empathy, responsiveness and assurance (in that order). These results made possible to build three action plans, to reduce the largest gaps found, been the most important activity a training for the workers at the correspondent banking agents. This is intended to strengthen the relationship between banks and the stores that provide the service, to reduce the gaps in the empathy dimension, improving the quality of service.

Full textThis Thesis Plan contemplates the application of the residual income model for the valuation of companies of the Peruvian financial system. The main objective of this research is to analyze whether the residual income model is the most suitable for the valuation of Peruvian financial companies. In this sense, the research seeks to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the valuation models of financial companies in order to determine which model presents more strengths in its application to that sector. Furthermore, it is intended to determine if the regulation of the Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP influences the choice of the model. Finally, it is sought to determine if the residual income model contributes to obtaining a more precise fundamental value of the valued entity. Among the hypotheses, given that the proposal of any valuation is the obtaining of the fundamental value of the company, the residual income model is applied to the Interbank company and the obtaining value is contrasted through the Montecarlo simulation.

Full textCurrently, there is a continuous debate about the scope of the IFRS 6: Costs of exploration and evaluation of resources, for companies in the oil and gas sector. This is due to the generality that it manifests in its paragraphs and is more focused on a mining sector. For users, this means a liberality when using it as a guide to issue an internal accounting policy. That is why many companies in the oil and gas sector that are covered by IFRS use the exception of the IFRS Framework that allows using foreign accounting standards such as USGAAP, which contains a standard called FAS 19 Financial Accounting and Reporting by Oil and Gas Producing Companies. This standard is clearly focused on the sector of oil and gas with capitalization models, like Successful efforts and Full costing, and specific guidelines that help the user to align a reasonable accounting policy for their exploration and evaluation costs. For the present work, a mixed methodology was used in order to obtain a broad perspective and a better understanding and exemplification about the results of FAS 19 methods used by the companies in the oil and gas sector. Therefore, data were collected based on interviews with experts from the sector and reports and trials related to the subject. Also, we collected financial information from four companies of the sector for their respective accounting analysis. Finally, it was possible to confirm the hypotheses formulated in a positive way, concluding our research effectively according to our objectives.

Full textThe fishing industry in Peru has suffered growth fluctuations in recent years, for that reason the fishing companies seek to moderate their weaknesses, induced by characteristics of the industry, with tools that allow them to manage a solution in an opportune way and thereby creating a balanced environment to continue with their activities. One of the tools used for fishing companies is the confirming or factoring reverse. The confirming allows companies to manage their broad portfolio of suppliers, postpone their payments in closed seasons, use lower financing costs and others. Throughout the inquiries made for the present research work, it was identified that the fishing companies classified and presented their confirming operations as trade accounts payable, without performing a detailed evaluation that contemplates all the guidelines given by the International Standards of Financial Information (IFRS) and their interpretations, specifically IFRS 9 Financial Instruments and IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements. Accordingly, the present mixed-method investigation aims to identify the appropriate treatment for the classification of the confirming operations, either as a commercial or financial operation, and in consequence measure the impact on the financial statements of the main companies of the fishing sector in Peru. For this purpose, it is taken a not probabilistic sample of two study cases that appropriately represents the Peruvian fishing industry which makes comparable this confirming treatment evaluation For the qualitative analysis, interviews, expert surveys and documentary review were applied. After determining the classification of this transaction, the quantitative impact was measured by the application of the accounting dynamic and the calculation of the financial covenants to which the fishing companies are subject. After the application of the analytical stages, it was proposed an evaluation checklist that will allow companies to classify appropriately the confirming.

Full textThe purpose of this research was to identify good credit risk management practices in the financial sector / Mortgage segment for four banks in Peru between 2014-2018. The population integrates the Peruvian financial system, consisting of multiple banks, financial companies, municipal savings banks, rural savings banks, Edpymes, among others. The sample framework is defined in four banks from the multiple banks, which have approximately 80% of the mortgage loan portfolio. The research design is descriptive, and the methodology applied was qualitative interview and the analysis of financial information published by Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS). In addition, this investigation will identify the relevant variables that define good practices in credit risk management and the relationship and impact of good practices with these variables. The results of this research identify three good practices used by banks to manage credit risk in the mortgage segment. These practices are the following: (a) The use of analytical tools for credit risk management; (b) Confirm the real income of customers and (c) Have specialized work teams dedicated to the development and support of analytical tools for all the life cycle of credit risk management. Finally, these three good practices have a direct relationship with the variables delinquency rate, risk classification, provisions and Return on Equity (ROE). Therefore, if the delinquency rate increases, this is reflected in a higher level of provisions, resulting in a reduction in the return on equity of banks.

Full textThe main objective of this research is to present good practices in determining the optimal capital structure and its impact on the Economic Value Added (EVA) of the most representative banks in Peru during the 2014-2018 period. It justifies the conduct of this research because there is no greater evidence in the country of previous studies that analyze the financial behavior of the banks and because no previous evidence of exhaustive studies was found about the management of the capital structure in this type of business. The selection of the banks occurs after recognizing the relevance they have in the current market, where they stand out: Banco de Crédito del Perú, Banco BBVA Perú, Scotiabank Perú and Banco Interbank, so these companies serve as a reference to identify the existence of good practices in determining an optimal capital structure, since it is understood as good practices to those routines developed by companies for the solution of a particular problem or topic and that served to achieve a satisfactory and demonstrable result so they should be copied and put into practice by those companies that want to reach the same levels of satisfaction (Urban, 2018). On the other hand, the field of analysis of the capital structure also includes those theory that are relevant for providing specific characteristics that address a specific management of capital, so we have that the Trade-Off theory mentions that companies take into consideration the compensation between the costs and benefits of borrowing to decide a level of indebtedness and on the other hand Pecking Order mentions how imperfect information influences and the hierarchy of financing preferences in the decision of a level of indebtedness; These two theory serve as a point of reference when identifying good practices that, for the present study, a contrast is made between the information provided by companies and the theory identified. The analysis of the information that is obtained from the companies is developed based on the previous methodology that the study proposes where the public financial information provided by the banks and the in-depth interviews that were conducted to the executives responsible for the use were employed. Thus, this information is analyzed qualitatively to identify those actions and / or strategies that agree or disagree with the postulated by the theory; but in addition the study is enriched because the impact of the capital structure with the indicator of creation of economic added value (EVA) is also analyzed because the latter complements the financial analysis of a company when considering the factor of value creation within the organization. Among the most outstanding findings of the present study, the composition of the capital structure of banks is highlighted, where external financing, that is, liabilities, is maintained at levels of 85% and 90%, and this level of leverage is justified by the turn of the business that demands the management of leverage levels because this resource is the main input for the investments made by the bank; nevertheless, the level of capital that they maintain results from the regulatory framework that governs at the national level and that is based on the international postulates that Basel proposes as a preventive measure to potential global economic crises. And, in that sense, the present study highlights as good practices for the determination of the capital structure in the banks to the active control of compliance with the country's regulatory framework regarding the solvency, liquidity and quality of assets held by the banks; the management and internal control of management and financial indicators; the management and active contact with the risk classifiers in search of fulfilling rating expectations that improve their credit rating in order to seek less expensive financing; and finally, the development of simulated financial stress scenarios that allow to anticipate and establish preventive strategies and take actions.

Full textConsidering that the financial sector can be a means to promote the economic development of a country, influencing capital investment in productive activities and expansion of markets, analyzing possible determinants that affect its development is important. The purpose of this research work is to determine whether competition influences the quality of the credit portfolio of credit granting institutions, and, if so, to analyze whether the effect is positive or negative. The years 2010 to 2019 are taken for the period of analysis and for three groups of financial institutions that are banks and, representing the microfinance sector, we have the municipal savings banks and rural savings banks. Previous studies have shown a mostly positive relationship between the delinquency rate and the increase in competition; however, it is not a conclusive result for all countries and periods, therefore determining the relationship for the Peruvian case and in the given years it is innovative. To empirically test that competition affects the loan portfolio, the default rate variable was used to measure the impact of portfolio quality. Likewise, it was proposed to estimate the Lerner index as an indicator of market power in representation of the competition variable. The data panel estimates were made, through which, because of the different econometric tests carried out, it was decided to use the GLS method for the regressions. The results obtained allow us to validate the hypothesis that the relationship between the competition between financial institutions granting credit and the delinquency rate is positive. Finally, the results obtained could justify research related to regulation in the financial sector with respect to banking competition and its determinants.

As a result of the international economic crises arising in the past 20 years, good corporate governance practices in the world, has taken on greater importance because of the major role in the capital market and the economy of a country. In Peru, these initiatives of good corporate governance practices were launched in 2002, based on the framework principles for corporate governance issued by the Organization for Co-operation and the Economic Development "OECD"; it was intended to establish in the country that corporate governance would promote the growth of the economy and investor trust. Despite the importance of corporate governance in Peru and the influence of the banking sector in the economy, there are no research studies related to this topic, and that is why a research of quantitative approach was conducted with a descriptive scope and no experimental cross, in order to be able to describe the possible relationship of good corporate governance practices and financial value generated in the Peruvian banking sector 2015. For that reason, the information compliance reports has been taken from the Code of Good Corporate Governance for Peruvian Companies and Financial Statements, that the 16 banks of the banking sector reported to the Superintendencia de Mercado de Valores. Finally, based on the analysis with the pillars of corporate governance covering: the right of shareholders, the general meeting of shareholders, the board and senior management, risk and compliance and transparency of information; it could be consider for this research that Good Corporate Governance practices is associated to the growing of financial value in the Peruvian banking sector

Full textThe main objective of this research work called "Evaluation of the financial and tax impact of IFRS 16 in the local aviation sector" is to explain the consequences of implementing IFRS 16 on operating lease contracts in companies in the Peruvian commercial air sector. The study is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the financial and tax impact of IFRS 16 will be described in the sector that is the most affected, according to the IASB, by the implementation, as well as the economic effects. In the second chapter, the problems, the hypotheses under test and the proposed objectives are identified. The third chapter describes the methodology used, in this case the mixed methodology for what is used as historical data and in-depth interviews in order to test each of the proposed hypotheses. In the fourth chapter the results of the qualitative and quantitative analysis are presented, and a practical case is presented with which it is intended to explain the main changes of the new norm in the financial statements. The fifth chapter analyzes the results of the study and describes the evolution of leases from IAS 17 until its subsequent repeal with the issuance of IFRS 16 in 2016. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations on the implementation of this new norm, that will come into effective date from January 1, 2019, in the companies of the Peruvian commercial air sector.

The financial impacts are analyzed to demonstrate that companies in the construction sector that lack the implementation of this prevention model could incur default events That is why, to achieve our main objective, we developed a case study with two scenarios identifying the possible financial impacts due to the implementation of ISO 37001: Anti-bribery Management System. Our work is composed in the first place by a theoretical framework where the ISO 37001: Anti-bribery Management System is defined, structure of the standard, normative references, among others. We also define an important issue: the financial impact on construction companies that do not have ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management System. Secondly, there is the research plan establishing the problem, hypothesis and objectives of the research, as well as the methodology to be used. In third and fourth place, the development was carried out through in-depth interviews, surveys and application of cases supporting the corresponding constructs. Fifth, there is the analysis of each of the instruments carried out. And in sixth place, this research ends with the conclusions and recommendations generated from the analysis carried out.

Full textThe following qualitative research with a descriptive scope was carried out to identify best practices in the management of sales teams in financial sector companies in Peru, in which the development of their commercial activities was analyzed for different types of financial institutions such as banks, finance companies and cooperatives of savings and credit. Each financial institution has multiple commercial areas where the management of sales teams is operated with their own monitoring and results reporting system. The different teams that were examined for this case belong to the areas of internal sales channels, private banking, agency network, insurance and corporate banking. To achieve a deep identification of the best practices that can be used in the management of sales teams, four variables were reviewed as an object of research, such as leadership, human resources, operations and management indicators. The research results provided relevant aspects about each of the variables of investigation, providing conclusions based on specialized theory and the field research process. Finally, best sales team management practices were identified which will benefit organizations in the Peruvian financial sector and that can be replicated in other different business sectors.

The phenomenon of globalization brings with it many changes in the large and small companies around the world that is why all companies are constantly preparing to adopt such changes without having to affect their productivity and profitability. International financial reporting standards are being updated and adapted to new ways of performing operations, they serve as a guide for accounting professionals, providing the appropriate parameters and procedures for correctly recording financial transactions. Recently one of the great changes brought by international financial reporting standards is the creation of a new standard (IFRS 16), which deals with the new accounting and financial recognition of leases procedure, which eliminates the duality of financial leasing and operating lease, creating a single definition (Leases).

Full textThe purpose of this research project is to explain how the greater presence of the Internet's own sales channels in a financial exchange in companies in the retail sector in Metropolitan Lima, the country has been experiencing in recent years a global product impact of large technological advances in electronic commerce. Likewise, we consider the financial impact as a result of the economic impact on sales, costs, expenses and results of companies in the retail sector due to the presence of their own internet sales channels, since an increase in sales and cost optimization and expenses, generating better results that will ultimately contribute to obtaining a greater surplus available to companies. In addition, other advantages will also be identified such as: customer loyalty and the permanence of companies under the principle of ongoing business, which will initially represent economic advantages, but will ultimately have an impact on financial management. After that, the research method for its development has been detailed, from which we have chosen to carry out interviews and surveys with specific specialists in order to collect the necessary data. In addition, a practical case has been carried out with real figures, in which it is specifically explained how the financial impact in said company is reflected, so that it can be understood what the results are of implementing an own internet sales channel in a company. Finally, the hypotheses presented in this research project have been validated through the use of statistical tools, which have provided us with knowledge to carry out the conclusions and recommendations obtained from the research carried out.

Full textThis academic research seeks to explain the influence between digital transformation on cultural transformation in companies in the financial sector in Metropolitan Lima in 2019. The research design is non-experimental, transectional, with a quantitative and correlational approach. The tool identified to collect the data was through a Likert-type survey, being determined by the reliability of the Cronbach's alpha coefficient, being validated by expert judgment. The simple random sampling technique was through 381 surveys that worked in the financial sector of the four most recognized banks at the Metropolitan Lima level (BCP, BBVA, Interbank and Scotiabank) of a population of 36,033 collaborators nationwide. In relation to the nonparametric statistical tests of the Kendall Thau Correlation Coefficient (Value = 0.598) and Spearman's Correlation Coefficient (Value = 0.747), it indicates that there is a positive correlation between the variables of the present study, digital transformation and cultural transformation.

Full textThe present research work was developed with the purpose to evaluate the financial and tax impact will have for the companies of the Construction Sector the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standard No. 15 - Revenue from Contracts with Customers. Those companies will leave to apply the IAS 11 standard that nowadays they used for the recognition of revenues resulting from construction contracts. Referring to the present study, it is worth noting the importance of the construction sector as one of the main engines of the Peruvian economy, because of the fact that this sector combines productive activities from different economic sectors, and the multiplying effect that investment in construction generates, one of those impacts reflected in the variables that estimate the country's growth. To approach the investigation and establish the impacts that will be generated with the application of the new norm IFRS 15, the present research work has been developed by dividing it into six chapters, starting with the key information that places the reader in context with the research, followed by chapter two on the research plan in which the problem, the objectives and the research hypothesis are raised, continuing with chapter three on the research methodology that will allow us to respond with the central problem , thus arriving at chapter four and five development of the research and its analysis respectively, to finally reach chapter six where we establish the conclusions and recommendations resulting from the entire investigation.

Full textThe current model of operation in the financial sector is subjected to a slow but relentless process of restructuring, in which the adoption of new patterns, inherited from the industrial system, means for the employees that they have to adapt themselves to new ways of operation and of administration.Trough the analysis of the job positions, this analysis concludes that there has been a polarization in the professional qualifications of the employees, since while some groups increase their knowledge, capacities and personal and professional abilities, for the majority of them the qualifications tend to be downgraded. As a result of this polarization process, we identify and analyze some unwanted effects, such as: the effective loss of control over the process, the escalation of activities, the multi-faceted worker and the degradation in the levels of quality of life and labour climate.

Full textOne of the human capital main benefits is, undoubtedly, the sum of knowledge, skills or competences that offers to the company, which in turn allow employees to do their jobs to the best of their ability. Provided that human capital is a source of inspiration, ideas and knowledge, it will enhance the development of their work and contribute in achieving results for the company. The main objective of this research is, therefore, to analyze the effectiveness of culture, training and organizational learning in the performance of the company, in a dynamic environment such as the financial sector. In order to achieve this purpose, an empirical study was developed, after analyzing the main concepts involved in the work, using a postal survey. The population samplings used in this study comprised employees from the bank branches of a financial institution in the southeast region of Spain (Murcia). The study was carried out on a sample of 81 offices with 299 employees, collecting the data through a postal survey. Herein, the branch is the basic unit of analysis. The results are then calculated using a Partial Least Squares approach. The performed analysis included a measurement model in which it is differentiated between reflective constructs and formative constructs based on multicollinearity analysis and factor analysis. In line with the underlined by literature about learning organizations’ culture, the results show that organizational culture that promotes learning and improves companies results is the culture that is oriented towards learning. This culture has a direct effect on learning and an indirect effect on the overall results. Training that is oriented toward learning also influences both learning and the results of the company. This particularly is truth when there are sufficient resources, and that training is based on a need and it is made within working hours and, above all, when ICTs are used for performing such training. In summary, the conclusions of this research indicate that human capital is a key success factor in the financial sector. In this regard, the results show that in order to promote the creation of knowledge through human capital, it is essential to promote organizational learning. The development of organizational learning creates new knowledge that can be used to obtain competitive advantages and improvements in business results. Finally, through the present work we hope we have been able to bring some new mentality to today's financial managers towards the human capital they manage.

Full textThe subject that developed in the present investigation is the evaluation of the IFRS 15 financial and tax impact: revenue from ordinary activities from contracts with customers in the technical Advisory Services Sector, which aims to illustrate to the companies in the sector, the new guidelines and a consolidated five-step model for revenue recognition that the new IFRS fifteen brings, as well as identifying the changes in the accounting treatment and impacts that this transition of accounting standards will bring. The study is comprised of five chapters. In the first, the theoretical framework in which the concepts are defined. In the second, the research plan is exposed, in which the problem is identified, the hypothesis proposed and the objectives set. Then, the mixed methodology is used to deepen the perception of the companies in the sector and measure their knowledge of the new norms. In this stage, qualitative instruments are applied, such as detail interviews; and quantitative, such as surveys, since the work evaluates the process of revenue recognition in the engineering technical advisory services sector. Subsequently, the results of the studies carried out are analyzed, and through the application of different cases, it is intended to illustrate the main changes of the new norm. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the new norm will have a financial impact on companies, since more information is required to be disclosed, as a result, the information systems and processes must be adapted to comply with the new established standards. In addition, there will be a tax impact due to the temporary differences presented between revenues and costs, which will generate the appearance of a deferred asset or liability.

Full text"GreenPeace" is a trend that people nowadays follow, which aims to end abuses against the environment and enjoy a "green" future. Thus, several countries are inclined to set strict rules regarding the care of the ecosystem, one of these is to eliminate or reduce the emission of polluting gases by motor cars. In several countries like Brazil, Switzerland, Holland among others; limitations were already placed on the operation of motor cars. Thus, companies began offering electric and hybrid cars. Something similar is happening in Peru, since the state has begun to provide incentives such as the elimination of the ISC; They also plan to offer bonuses and other assistance in order to encourage the entry of electric and hybrid cars. For this reason in the future, automotive companies that do not join this change will not be sustainable and will be destined to fail. This professional research work has been carried out with the purpose of evaluating the financial impact that the importing companies of the automotive sector will have due to the renewal of the automotive fleet in Lima with hybrid cars. Therefore, it has been developed in relation to financial concepts, mainly costs, since it is the most influential variable of the subject under investigation. This research work focuses on the study of import companies in the automotive sector in Lima. It is important that companies in general in the sector and their main management understand the financial impact they will have in the near future due to the import of hybrid cars and the true importance of doing so, since fuel shortages are on the rise with the course of the years and consumption. Consequently, this research work is expected to serve as a basis for understanding the sector and how it will be financially impacted due to the importation of these vehicles. To validate the hypotheses raised, qualitative and quantitative research instruments were used. The qualitative instrument used was an in-depth interview with experts from the sector and the quantitative instruments were the surveys carried out. All the research work carried out was aimed at gathering qualitative and quantitative information to corroborate the hypotheses. Finally, a case study will be developed in which two scenarios that compare financial information regarding conventional fuel vehicles on the market and hybrid vehicles will be considered.

Full textThe present work of professional suffiency was realized with the purpose of evaluating the financial impact of the management of quality costs in the companies of the Peruvian beer sector. Therefore, it is developed according to the concepts of quality management and cost management, taking as a basis the quality costs for the decision making of process improvement and optimization. This research work focuses on the study of companies in the Peruvian beer sector, because we consider it significant that the general, accounting and financial management of the sector understand the financial impact of practicing and maintaining a management of quality costs. For this reason, it is expected that this research work will serve as a basis to achieve an understanding of the importance of exercising quality cost management. To validate the hypotheses, qualitative and quantitative research instruments were used. In-depth interviews were carried out, as a qualitative instrument, with experts from the sector and surveys were applied as a quantitative instrument for a consequent statistical analysis. Finally, a practical case will be developed where the financial impact of applying quality cost management will be compared against the case of not practicing it.
