MANETs are attractive technology in providing communication in the absence of a fixed infrastructure for applications such as, first responders at a disaster site or soldiers in a battlefield (Kumar, and Mishra, 2012). The rapid growth MANET has experienced in recent years is due to its Ad Hoc capabilities that have also made it prime target of cybercrimes (Jhaveri, 2012). This has raised the question of how could we embrace the benefits of MANET without the increased security risks. Abstract:
Security Monitoring Platform (SMP) represents multiple detective controls applied inthe enterprise to protect against cyberattacks. Building SMP is a challenging task, as itconsists of multiple systems that require integration. This paper introduces a framework thatcompiles various aspects of Security Monitoring and presents respective requirements sets.SMP framework provides guidance for establishing a risk-based detection platform, augmented with automation, threat intelligence and analytics capabilities. It provides morebroad view on the problem of Security Monitoring in the enterprise conte

Abstract:
Computer networks security is a topic which has been extensively researched. This research is fully justified when one notices the dimensions of the problem faced. One can easily identify different kinds of networks, a large quantity of network protocols, and an overwhelming amount of user applications that make extensive use of networks for the purposes those applications were built. This conforms a vast research field, where it is possible for a researcher to set his or her interests over a set of threats, vulnerabilities, or types of attacks, and devise a mechanism to prevent the attack, m

Abstract:
This thesis addresses the gap in the literature of the Gulf Cooperation Council and its distinct relations with the European Union by identifying the obstacles preventing the development of GCC–EU interregionalism, in two case studies: energy security and economic cooperation in the Mediterranean. By bringing an empirical application of interregionalism to the study of GCC–EU relations, the thesis draws an original comparison that is based on a Hettne and Söderbaum typology of regionness (2000) to determine the GCC’s and the EU’s types, levels of actorness and the subsequent type of interregio

Master of Science
Department of Computing and Information Sciences
Eugene Vasserman
The unprecedented growth of ubiquitous computing infrastructure has brought new challenges for security, privacy, and trust. New problems range from mobile apps with incomprehensible permission (trust) model to OpenSSL Heartbleed vulnerability, which disrupted the security of a large fraction of the world's web servers. As almost all of the software bugs and flaws boil down to programming errors/misalignment in requirements, we need to retrace back Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and supply chai

Among various means of energy harvesting (EH) for green communications, radio-frequency (RF)-enabled wireless energy harvesting (WEH), inter alia, has recently drawn significant interest for its long operational distance and effective energy multicasting; it thus motivates the paradigm of wireless powered communication network (WPCN). Nevertheless, besides benefitting from the broadcast nature of wireless channels, WPCN is also vulnerable in terms of confidentiality and privacy of the data transmission, since legitimate information may be eavesdropped by unauthorized parties.
