In estuaries the flow reverses regularly due to the tidal currents and flow depths depend primarily on the tides and not the flow. An estuary has two sources of sediment: the river during floods and the ocean that supplies marine sediment through littoral drift which is transported by tidal currents into the estuary. Their morphodynamic behaviour can reflect changes in anthropogenic activity, climatic conditions and animal behaviour; however patterns of deflation are poorly understood as near-surface airflow is complex. However, empirical data on these effects have been limited due to inadequacies in anemometer and sediment trap deployments. As a consequence kno

Abstract:
The Binga reservoir was rapidly filled with sediments due to an underestimation of the sediment load and the absence of any sediment management strategy. The Binga reservoir is gradually losing its remaining ability to regulate the flow of Agno river as the water storage capacity is reduced year by year due to sedimentation. The sediment inflow is expected to increase over the coming years because the sedimentation that takes place in the upstream reservoir, Ambuklao reservoir, and its associated reduction of sediment trapping efficiency will increase the sediment load released to Binga reserv

Abstract:
Riverine sediments play a fundamental role within the fluvial system, since they represent potential removal zones of stream-borne pollutants and, in particular, nutrients derived by anthropogenic activities. The region of sediments where the exchange and mixing of surface and subsurface waters occurs is the hyporheic zone. This region is also a place of intense biogeochemical activity, influencing both the flora and the fauna living in the fluvial environment. In the last decades several works were focused either on the water exchanges or the biochemical reactions in the hyporheic zone but ju
