This work presents the first estimate of the radioactivity and sediment deposition rate of the Drenova reservoir. The radioactivity and sedimentation rate were computed applying the 210Pb and 137Cs methods. Samples of 210Pb and 137Cs were taken from four boreholes drilled in the Drenova reservoir in June 2010. Vertical distribution of the natural and artificial radionuclides in four boreholes was examined using a gamma spectrometry measurement with HpGe detectors, Gamma X type (10 keV-3 MeV). Activities ranging from 122-8 Bq/kg were found for 210Pb, and from 140-0.8 Bq/kg for 137Cs. The sedime

Abstract:
This project summarizes the results from 2000–2020and evaluates the trueness andthequality control (QC) procedures of the ongoing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)and trace element measurements in Finlandrelating to Air Quality (AQ) Directive 2004/107/EC. The evaluation was focused on benzo(a)pyrene and other PAH compounds as well as arsenic, cadmium and nickel in PM10and deposition. Additionally, it included lead and other metals in PM10and deposition, gaseous mercury and mercury deposition, andbriefly other specificAQ measurements such as volatile organic compounds (VOC)and PM2.5chemical

Concentrated flow erosion in rills, pipes, ephermal gullies, and gullies is a major contributor of downstream sedimentation. When rill or gullies form in a landscape, a 3- to 5-fold increase in soil loss commonly occurs. The balance between the erosive power of the flow and the erosion resistance of the bed material determines the rate of concentrated flow erosion. The resistance of the bed material to detachment depends primarily on the magnitude of the interparticle forces or cohesion holding the particles and aggregates together. The effect of soil properties on bed material resistance and

MATERIAL PROPERTIES AND LOCAL STABILITY OF WAAM STAINLESS STEEL PLATES WITH DIFFERENT DEPOSITION RATES. The Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.18057/icass2020.p.244.

Abstract:
Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) has significant potential to produce freeform, but structurally efficient geometries out of stainless steel, for use in the construction industry, however, there is currently no standardisation of the manufacturing parameters used to produce WAAM structures. This paper discusses an experimental programme carried out on WAAM 316L stainless steel plated structures to assess the effects of the deposition rate, which is directly associated with productivity. This programme comprises tensile tests on coupons extracted along different printing directions, geome
