The fitness of seed-transmitted viruses is highly dependent on host reproductive potential, and requires higher virus multiplication in reproductive organs. Thus, env

The process of creation, multiplication and introduction into production of intensive grass varieties of new generation, distinguished by a wide amplitude of resistance to abiotic and biotic factors, high productivity and increased environment-forming function is analysed. One of the most threatened groups of higher vascular plants is the family Amaryllida-ceae. This family includes worldwide about 1100 species from 85 genera, which occur mostly in tropical and warm temperate regions of the world. It also represents one of the largest gro-ups of ornamental bulbiferous plants that are used in landscape design, particularly in stone and rock gardens. They are of high ornamental value, being used in floral arrangements, as cut flowers and as potted plants for interior design, on balconies and terraces [2]. The genus Sternbergia belongs to the family Amaryllidaceae, a

The RBWR-TR is a thorium-based reduced moderation BWR (RBWR) with a high transuranic (TRU) consumption rate. It is charged with LWR TRU and thorium, and it recycles all actinides an unlimited number of times while discharging only fission products and trace amounts of actinides through reprocessing losses. This design is a variant of the Hitachi RBWR-TB2, which arranges its fuel in a hexagonal lattice, axially segregates seed and blanket regions, and fits within an existing ABWR pressure vessel. The RBWR-TR eliminates the internal axial blanket, eliminates absorbers from the upper reflector, a

It is possible to create a perception of transparency by combining patterns having different motions. Two particular combination rules have specific interpretations in terms of physical phenomena: additive (specular reflection) and multiplicative (shadow illumination). Arbitrary combination rules applied to random patterns generate percepts in which the motions of the two patterns are visible but with superimposed noise. It is also possible to combine the patterns (using an exclusive-OR rule) so that only noise is visible. Within a 1-D family of combination rules, which include addition and mu

Vector architecures proride excellent computational throughput, while successfully tolerating memory latency by pipelining memory accesses. In this paper, we propose a generalization of vector architectures to message-passing multicomputers, which combines the efficiency of vector computation with the scalablity of distributed-memory systems. In our proposed architecture, each node is a conventional vector processor (with chaining capability and pipelined functional units) augmented by native instructions to send and receive messages through vector registers. In this scheme, inter-node communi

Maintaining agricultural productivity in the face of climate change requires development and distribution of new seed varieties. Unfortunately, Syria’s seed system was largely destroyed by the civil war. To rebuild seed manufacturing infrastructure, IRC launched a seed multiplication program in which farmers would receive free seeds in exchange for donating a portion of their harvest as seed for other farmers in their community. During the 2022-23 wheat season, this approach was piloted with 100 farmers. We conducted research with Airbel BI after the harvest to answer the following questions a

This study leveraged existing data infrastructure and relationships from the Feed the Future Senegal Naatal Mbay (“flourishing agriculture”) project, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by RTI International from 2015 to 2019. The research informed and empowered farmer organizations to track and respond to rural households in 2020 as they faced the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmer organizations, with support from RTI and local ICT firm STATINFO, administered a survey to a sample of 800 agricultural households that are members of four former Naatal Mbay–support
