Maximizing productivity and profitability are the primary reasons for double-cropping soybean with small grain in the Mid-Atlantic, USA. Low quality Stoneville 825 seed produced reduced stands and, in most cases, reduced lint yields when planted at 3 dates and 3 planting dates at 3 locations in Arizona. Reduced lint yields were explained by reduced stands. Highest lint yield was obtained from the second plantings, 24 and 21 April at Marana and Safford, respectively.

This experiment tested the effects of a cytokinin containing product (Dry Seed +) on CUF 101 alfalfa when applied with the seed at planting on October 24, 1996, at the rate of 1 /lb product to 100 lb of alfalfa seed. Data indicated a non - statistical yield response averaging 200 lbs an acrefrom treated fields the first cutting, valued at $11 /acre, but yields were identical the second harvest. Alfalfa quality means were very similar for both harvests. A positive net return of $9.76 /acre was noted by using Dry Seed +. More testing is suggested to confirm these findings.

The transient concentration of dissolved CO2 in the broth (CCO2) controls the uptake of CO2 in the cell. Based on CCO2 , three distinct regimes could be identified in which the behaviour of the organism differed with CCO2 availability. Abstract:

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) varieties Atlantic and Granola are widely grown in Indonesia. The optimal method of cultivation in the tropics, due to the susceptibility of cut seed for disease, is by small (20 to 55 g) whole seed potatoes. However, the variety Atlantic produces mostly large tubers, which are not suitable for planting as whole seeds. Although Granola produces a reasonable proportion of small tubers it still produces a few in the larger size grades and there is no fresh market in Western Australia for the larger tubers for this variety. North Dakota soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] management varies across the state, resulting in yield differences. Eight soybean seeding rates (starting at 197600 and increasing by 49400 live seed ha-1 increments) and row spacing (30 and 61 cm) were evaluated in 15 North Dakota environments in 2017-2018 to determine plant densities, seed yield, and plant loss, which were compared with soybean producer field data. This study tests the equilibrium of after-tax rates of return described in Miller (1977) by investigating whether a change in tax rates affects the return of an investment asset that is not directly taxed by the rate being changed. Using a model of after-tax investment returns I predict the yields of Treasury bills, which are subject only to ordinary tax rates, have an inverse reaction to changes in the capital gains tax rate. In N. Uruguay two potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) crops are grown per year, one in the fall and the other in spring. In each season physiologically young seed tubers are planted, resulting in relatively slow crop emergence and low yields. The aim of the current research was to determine the effects of physiological ageing of seed tubers on the dynamics of canopy growth, radiation interception and radiation use efficiency (RUE) of crops in the short seasons of Uruguay and to identify opportunities for increasing yield. Experiments were conducted on cv Chieftain over three years from 2000 to 2002.
