Abstract:
The number of seedlings per hill and the configuration of plant row spacing are important management measures to improve rice yield. In the present study, we evaluated the impact of various seedlings per hill (1, 3, 6, and 9 seedlings hill−1) under four different rice verities (two conventional rice, two hybrid rice) on allometric characteristics, nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) and yield in 2020 at early and late season. Results showed that compared with nine seedlings per hill (wide row spacing), the number of effective panicles, yield, grain biomass allocation, grain-to-leaf ratio, grain nitr

<strong>ABSTRACT</strong> The present research work was conducted on Arabian date palm (<em>Phoenix dactylifera</em> L.). Four Arabian date palm, that is Marium, Deglet Nur, Nagal and Lulu were used for study of germination and DNA fingerprinting among the varieties. One month is required for germination in poly bags of the varieties. The 92% seeds were germinated of Marium variety and length of seedlings was 20.5 (mean). 51.22% seeds were germinated of Deglet Noor variety and length of seedlings was 18.0 (mean).&nbsp; The Nagal Variety seeds were germinated 85% where the length of seedlings w

At least eleven fungal genera were recovered from seeds. The most frequently isolated fungi were Bipolaris sorokiniana (11.125%), Aspergillus flavus (9.825%), Alternaria alternata (7.15%) and Aspergillus niger (6.225%). Waxapple (Syzygium samarngense Merr.et Perry) is an important tropical fruit in Taiwan. The famous producing area is located on the coast in Pingtung County. Land subsidence and climate change will tend to soil alkalization more seriously. This study was to evaluate the effects of NaCl in waxapple seedlings. NaCl salinity reduced waxapple shoot growth; it may due to reducing relative water content in leaf and new shoot. Leaf Cl and Na concentration were increased but K, Ca, and Mg content had no significant difference after irrigated with NaCl for six weeks. In roots, Na and Cl content increas

Hydro-priming and osmo-priming are the commonly used priming techniques. In both techniques the seeds were soaked in treatments for overnight followed by air drying before sowing. AbstractZea mays L. (Maize) is one of the most crucial world’s crops, for their nutritional values, however, the water scarcity and consequent soil salinization are the major challenges that limit the growth and productivity of this plant, particularly in the semi-arid regions in Egypt. Recently, biopriming has been recognized as one of the most efficient natural-ecofriendly approaches to mitigate the abiotic salt stress on plants. The haploid (128) and triploid (368) seeds of maize were selected as model verities for assessing their resistance to salt stress and mitigating their effect by fun
