Abstract:
Djidja est l’une des plus grandes communes productrices agricoles du département du Zou au sud du Bénin. De par ses ressources fourragères et hydriques, elle est devenue une destination des éleveurs transhumants. Les mouvements des éleveurs transhumants continuent de s’étendre, de même que les séjours dans cette zone d’accueil s’allongent. L’étude a eu pour objectif global d’élaborer le calendrier pastoral et la carte de transhumance des éleveurs fréquentant cette commune. Des entretiens semi-structurés ont été conduits auprès de 300 acteurs de la transhumance. L’enquête a montré que la transhumance dans cette commune était surtout due à la recherche de ressources fourragères et hydriques (78,7 %). Sept périodes (Seeto, Nduungu Mawdo, Nduungu Pamarel, Jahol, Djaamdè, Dabuundè et Cheedu) ont été identifiées dans le calendrier des transhumants fréquentant cette zone avec une particularité de deux périodes de Nduungu (saison des pluies). Cette particularité est liée aux données climatiques de la zone qui comprend quatre saisons, dont deux pluvieuses et deux sèches. Le calendrier pastoral, l’itinéraire suivi et les temps de séjour dépendaient de la disponibilité des ressources pastorales des zones d’attache, de transit et d’accueil. Ainsi, la bonne connaissance des pistes empruntées, des points d’entrées et de sorties, et des périodes d’accueil des éleveurs transhumants serviront d’outils aux décideurs en matière de gestion durable de la transhumance et des ressources pastorales au sud du Bénin.

Abstract:
Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD), also referred to as de Morsier syndrome, is a rare congenital condition, characterized by two of the classic triad features: midline brain abnormalities, optic nerve hypoplasia (ONH) and pituitary endocrine dysfunction. We report 5 children with SOD, originally referred to be evaluated due to short stature, who also presented bilateral optic nerve hypoplasia, nystagmus and development delay. In 4 of the patients, we identified neuroimaging abnormalities of the hypothalamo-pituitary axis such as anterior pituitary hypoplasia (3/5), ectopic posterior pituitary (4/5), thin or absent stalk (3/5) and empty sella (1/5). We also encountered diverse pituitary deficiencies: growth hormone (3/5), adrenocorticotropic hormone (3/5), thyroid-stimulating hormone (2/5) and antidiuretic hormone (1/5). Only one child presented intact pituitary function and anatomy. Although rare, SOD is an important cause of congenital hypopituitarism and it should be considered in children with optic nerve hypoplasia or midline brain abnormalities for early diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract:
Este trabalho se propõe a analisar a representação histórica e literária de Malintzin, levando em consideração que o estudo dessa personagem nos leva não apenas a uma cultura mestiça, ao complexo de inferioridade e ao “malinchismo” que está associado a seu nome, como propõe Octavio Paz (1950), entre outros estudiosos, mas também a uma nova reconstrução literária, na qual a narrativa oferece um campo mais amplo de indagações. Nesse sentido, Laura Esquivel (2006) promove uma ruptura com a imagem de uma Malintzin traidora e lança questionamentos sobre o que pensou e sentiu Malintzin no momento da Conquista. Somados à narrativa, o desenhista Jordi Castells (2006) criou 89 códices para o romance de Esquivel (2006), que representam um registro da cultura, preservam a memória, contam a história da grande cidade Tenochtitlan, do Imperador Moctezuma, do deus serpente-ave Quetzalcoatl, do massacre de Cholula, das divindades, das cerimônias e rituais de nascimento e morte. Esses manuscritos pictográficos, sobretudo, mostram um retrato de uma Malintzin que é “senhora da palavra”, do discurso e de seu tempo, já que é ela quem desenha e escreve ficcionalmente sua própria trajetória. O estudo “O sexto sol de Malinalli”, nesse sentido, propõe-se a analisar a complexidade da personagem Malinalli, em Malinche, de Laura Esquivel (2006), partindo das seguintes questões: é ainda válido pensar em Malintzin como um símbolo de traição à pátria; e, considerando essa premissa, como o romance de Esquivel (2006) colabora para uma reconceptualização ao propiciar a problematização dos acontecimentos e personagens históricos da Conquista da América. Vale aclarar que, além da narrativa de Esquivel (2006), também compõe o corpus ficcional deste trabalho o romance histórico Jicoténcal (1826), atribuído a Félix Varela, um dos primeiros registros ficcionais depreciativo da imagem de Malintzin que apresenta como mote a afirmação da nação mexicana. Um problema que se formula tem por base a imagem de Malintzin registrada pelos cronistas, soldados e informantes de Sahagún sobre o período da Conquista, além da publicação de Jicoténcal mais de trezentos anos da Conquista e poucos anos depois da Independência mexicana, um período conflitante de formação da nação e de construção histórica da cultura e identidade nacional. Esse processo se consolida historicamente depois da Revolução mexicana em 1910, colocando em evidência o mestiço, os “heróis” e os “vilões” nacionais. Malintzin, dentro desse contexto, não apenas é uma representação conveniente de traição à pátria, como também assume uma imagem hispanista de mãe santificada. Quando se pensa na abordagem temática de Esquivel (2006), uma hipótese possível é de que a autora se filia a uma significativa onda de mudanças que surge depois da segunda metade do século XX, especialmente nos anos 70, a partir dos estudos de gênero e de publicações especializadas de autoras como Sandra Messinger Cypess (1991) e Margo Glantz (2001), entre outras investigadoras, com o propósito geral de desmistificar essa imagem de traidora. Além dessa base teórica, para esta tese, tem-se como ponto de apoio e referência o romance histórico, definido a partir da concepção de Seymour Menton (1993) e das considerações de Osvaldo Estrada (2009) sobre Malinche, de Esquivel (2006). Em relação aos estudos mais recentes sobre o México e a Conquista, acrescentam-se ainda autores como Tzvetan Todorov (1982), Stephen Greenblatt (1991), Serge Gruzinski (1996, 2003, 2004, 2007), Roger Bartra (1986, 2001), Miguel León-Portilla (1959, 1961, 2001, 2008), Miguel Ángel Menéndez (1964), Cristina González Hernández (2002), Ricardo Herren (1991, 1992), Juan Miralles (2004), entre outros proeminentes estudiosos.
Este trabajo se propone analizar la representación histórica y literaria de Malintzin teniendo en cuenta que el estudio sobre dicho personaje nos lleva, no solo al complejo de inferioridad y al malinchismo que se asocia a su nombre, como lo plantea Octavio Paz (1950), entre otros estudiosos, sino también a una nueva reconstrucción literaria a partir de la narrativa, que ofrece un campo más amplio de indagaciones. En ese sentido, Laura Esquivel (2006) promueve una ruptura con respecto a la imagen de una Malintzin traidora y lanza cuestionamientos sobre qué habría pensado y sentido Malintzin en el momento de la Conquista. Sumados al relato, se encuentran 89 códices de autoría del dibujante Jordi Castells (2006), que representan un registro de la cultura, preservan la memoria, cuentan la historia de la gran ciudad Tenochtitlan, del huey tlatoani Moctezuma, del dios serpiente-ave Quetzalcoatl, de la masacre de Cholula, de las deidades, de las ceremonias y rituales de nacimiento y muerte. Esos manuscritos pictográficos muestran sobre todo el retrato de una Malintzin que es «dueña de la palabra», del discurso y de su tiempo, ya que, en la ficción, es ella misma quien dibuja y escribe su propia trayectoria. El estudio «El sexto sol de Malinalli», en un sentido general, se propone examinar la complejidad del personaje Malinalli, en Malinche, de Laura Esquivel (2006), partiendo de las siguientes interrogantes: ¿es válido aún pensar en Malintzin como un símbolo de traición a la patria?; y, en ese sentido, ¿cómo la literatura colabora para un nuevo abordaje conceptual al propiciar la problematización de los hechos y personajes históricos de la Conquista de América? Vale mencionar que, además del relato de Esquivel (2006), también compone el corpus ficcional de este trabajo la novela histórica Jicoténcal (1826), que se atribuye a Félix Varela, uno de los primeros registros ficcionales despreciativos de la imagen de Malintzin, cuya principal finalidad es la afirmación de la nación mexicana. Un problema que se formula parte de la imagen de Malintzin registrada por los cronistas, soldados e informantes de Sahagún sobre el periodo de la Conquista, así como de la publicación de Jicoténcal —más de trescientos años después de la Conquista y pocos años después de la Independencia mexicana, en un periodo conflictivo de formación de la nación y de construcción histórica de la cultura e identidad nacionales—. Ese proceso, que se consolida históricamente tras la Revolución mexicana en 1910, pone en evidencia al mestizo, a los «héroes» y a los «villanos» nacionales. Si, por una parte, Malintzin, dentro de ese contexto, es una representación conveniente de traición a la patria, por otra, asume una imagen hispanista de madre santificada. Al pensarse en el abordaje temático de Esquivel (2006), se puede plantear la hipótesis de que la autora se alinea con una significativa ola de cambios que surge después de la segunda mitad del siglo XX, sobre todo en los años 70, a partir de los estudios de género y de publicaciones especializadas de autoras como Sandra Messinger Cypess (1991) y Margo Glantz (2001), entre otras investigadoras, con el designio general de desmitificar esa imagen consolidada de traidora. Además de esa base teórica, para esta tesis doctoral, se toma como punto de apoyo y referencia el concepto de novela histórica propuesto por Seymour Menton (1993) y por Osvaldo Estrada (2009) en sus consideraciones sobre Malinche, de Esquivel (2006). Con relación a los estudios más recientes sobre México y la Conquista, se agregan autores como Tzvetan Todorov (1982), Stephen Greenblatt (1991), Serge Gruzinski (1996, 2003, 2004, 2007), Roger Bartra (1986, 2001), Miguel León-Portilla (1959, 1961, 2001, 2008), Miguel Ángel Menéndez (1964), Cristina González Hernández (2002), Ricardo Herren (1991, 1992), Juan Miralles (2004), entre otros prominentes estudiosos.

Abstract:
A tese defende a ideia de que uma compreensão adequada da suspensão cética de juízo (epokhé) pressupõe o estudo dos textos de Sexto Empírico que, direta ou indiretamente, abordam o problema da concepção pirrônica da linguagem ou discurso (lógos), e também daqueles que fornecem elementos para a compreensão da posição sextiana acerca da linguagem cotidiana das pessoas comuns. Os primeiros capítulos lidam com a conhecida distinção entre as assim chamadas interpretações rústica e urbana da filosofia pirrônica. A seguir, o texto discute o problema do lógos quando considerado a partir de uma perspectiva pirrônica, onde uma nova argumentação em favor da interpretação rústica é desenvolvida, baseada na ideia de um percurso cético. No quarto capítulo, é examinada a noção de phainómenon e sua relação com o lógos cético, através da formulação de uma interpretação mais geral do ceticismo antigo e do seu discurso fenomênico. O quinto e último capítulo procede então a uma avaliação da força filosófica tanto da filosofia pirrônica como da neopirrônica
The dissertation defends the idea that an adequate understanding of the sceptical suspension of judgement (epoché) presupposes the study of the Sextus Empiricus texts which, either directly or indirectly, address the problem of the pyrrhonian conception of language or discourse (lógos), and also the study of those texts that provide elements for the understanding of the Sextian position about the everyday language of common people. The first chapters deal with the well-known distinction between the so-called rustic and urbane interpretations of the pyrrhonian philosophy. In the sequence, the dissertation discusses the problem of the lógos, as viewed from a pyrrhonian perspective, also by developing a new argument in favor of the rustic interpretation, based upon the idea of a sceptic path. Subsequently, the notion of phainómenon and its relation to the sceptic lógos are analyzed through a general approach to ancient scepticism. The fith and last chapter proceeds to an avaluation of the philosophical strength of both the pyrrhonian and neopyrrhonian philosophies

A administra??o de nicotina em seres humanos e roedores ? pensada como um melhorador de mem?ria e aten??o, tamb?m pelo seu efeito positivo na Doen?a de Alzheimer. O complexo do Septo Medial / Banda Diagonal de Broca (MS/DBB) ? um dos principais sistemas colin?rgicos ? massivamente projetado para o hipocampo atrav?s da F?mbria-F?rnix, via esta chamada de via septo-hipocampal. Foi demonstrado que o MS/DBB afeta diretamente o potencial de campo local (LFP) e a organiza??o r?tmica do hipocampo, especialmente na gera??o do ritmo teta - um LFP r?tmico intrinsecamente relacionado com a fun??o mnem?nica do hipocampo. Experimentos in vitro deram evid?ncias de que a nicotina aplicada no MS/DBB pode gerar um ritmo teta na rede local do MS/DBB. Assim, o presente estudo se prop?e a elucidar a fun??o da nicotina no MS/DBB sobre a via septo-hipocampal. Experimentos in vivo, comparando o efeito de microinfus?es no MS/DBB de solu??o salina (n = 5) ou nicotina (n = 8) em camundongos anestesiados por ketamina/xilazina mostraram um aumento na densidade de pot?ncia no espectro banda de gama (35 a 55 Hz) em ambas as estruturas (teste de Wilcoxon Rank-Sum, p = 0,038), mas sem alterar a coer?ncia entre as estruturas na mesma banda (teste de Wilcoxon Rank-Sum, p = 0,60). Houve tamb?m uma diminui??o na densidade pot?ncia na banda delta (1-3 Hz) ? oscila??o induzida pela ketamina. Realizamos tamb?m experimentos in vitro sobre o efeito da nicotina na voltagem de membrana e no potencial de a??o de neur?nios do MS/DBB. Registramos neur?nios (n=22) em current-clamp antes e depois da presen?a de nicotina no meio extracellular; 12 neur?nios responderam ? nicotina, metade aumentou a taxa de potenciais de a??o; outros seis diminu?ram, diferindo significativamente no limiar do potencial de a??o (- 47,3 ? 0,9 mV vs. -41 ? 1,9 mV, respectivamente, p = 0,007) e na largura do disparo (1,6 ? 0,08 vs. 2 ms ? 0,12 ms, respectivamente, p = 0,01). Al?m disso, realizamos outro conjunto de experimentos in vitro, relativo ? conectividade das tr?s grandes popula??es neuronais de MS / DBB que usam a acetilcolina, GABA ou glutamato como neurotransmissores. O registro pareado de patch-clamp mostrou que neur?nios glutamat?rgicos e GABA?rgicos realizam contatos intra-septais capazes de produzir correntes sin?pticas em neur?nios p?s-sin?pticos do MS/DBB. A probabilidade da conectividade entre diferentes popula??es neuronais foi implementada em um modelo realista que corrobora que a rede ? altamente sens?vel ? gera??o de ritmo gama. Juntamente com os dados dispon?veis, o conjunto completo de experi?ncias corrobora que a nicotina pode atuar como potenciador cognitivo, e um substrato eletrofisiol?gico prov?vel ? atrav?s da indu??o de oscila??o gama no circuito local do MS/DBB.
Nicotine administration in humans and rodents enhances memory and attention, and also has a positive effect in Alzheimer's Disease. The Medial Septum / Diagonal Band of Broca complex (MS/DBB) ? a main cholinergic system ? massively projects to the hippocampus through the fimbria-fornix, and this pathway is called the septohippocampal pathway. It has been demonstrated that the MS/DBB acts directly on the local field potential (LFP) rhythmic organization of the hippocampus, especially in the rhythmogenesis of Theta (4-8Hz) ? an oscillation intrinsically linked to hippocampus mnemonic function. In vitro experiments gave evidence that nicotine applied to the MS/DBB generates a local network Theta rhythm within the MS/DBB. Thus, the present study proposes to elucidate the function of nicotine in the MS/DBB on the septo-hippocampal pathway. In vivo experiments compared the effect of MS/DBB microinfusion of saline (n=5) and nicotine (n=8) on Ketamine/Xylazine anaesthetized mice. We observed power spectrum density in the Gamma range (35 to 55 Hz) increasing in both structures (Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test, p=0.038) but with no change in coherence between these structures in the same range (Wilcoxon Rank-Sum test, p=0.60). There was also a decrease in power of the ketamineinduced Delta oscillation (1 to 3 Hz). We also performed in vitro experiments on the effect of nicotine on membrane voltage and action potential. We patch-clamped 22 neurons in current-clamp mode; 12 neurons were responsive to nicotine, half of them increased firing rate and other 6 decreased, and they significantly differed in action potential threshold (-47.3?0.9 mV vs. -41?1.9 mV, respectively, p=0.007) and halfwidth time (1.6?0.08 ms vs. 2?0.12 ms, respectively, p=0.01). Furthermore, we performed another set of in vitro experiments concerning the connectivity of the three major neuronal populations of MS/DBB that use acetylcholine, GABA or glutamate as neurotransmitter. Paired patch-clamp recordings found that glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons realize intra-septal connections that produce sizable currents in MS/DBB postsynaptic neurons. The probability of connectivity between different neuronal populations gave rise to a MS/DBB topology that was implemented in a realistic model, which corroborates that the network is highly sensitive to the generation of Gamma rhythm. Together, the data available in the full set of experiments suggests that nicotine may act as a cognitive enhancer, by inducing gamma oscillation in the local circuitry of the MS/DBB.

Objetivo: indivíduos com alterações anatômicas estruturais, como desvio septal, tendem a ter piora da percepção de obstrução nasal ao mudar da posição sentada para a deitada. A resistência nasal aumenta no decúbito dorsal e no lado do decúbito lateral. Este estudo tem o objetivo de verificar se pacientes com desvio septal nasal unilateral tem decúbito lateral preferencial. Metodologia: estudo de prevalência realizado no Serviço de Otorrinolaringologia do Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. Indivíduos selecionados responderam a um questionário padrão e ao questionário Nasal Obstruction Septoplasty Effectiveness (NOSE) e após foram submetidos à endoscopia nasal. O resultado da avaliação da videoendoscopia nasal foi comparado de forma cega com a presença de lateralidade preferencial no decúbito e em relação à presença ou não de obstrução nasal unilateral. Resultados: 40 indivíduos selecionados, sendo 20 participantes no grupo sem obstrução nasal e 20 no grupo com obstrução nasal. A concordância interexaminador foi de 0,9 (p <0,01) para estabelecer se havia desvio septal e qual o lado (direita ou esquerda). Pacientes com desvio septal detectados à endoscopia, têm lado preferencial de decúbito (p< 0,01), assim como o lado preferencial tem relação com a presença de obstrução nasal ipsilateral (p<0,01). Conclusão: pacientes com desvio septal unilateral têm preferência pelo decúbito lateral, para o lado da obstrução nasal. São necessários outros estudos que venham confirmar estes achados e estabelecer a preferência de lateralidade no decúbito dos pacientes como um indicativo da presença e impacto da obstrução nasal unilateral.

Abstract:
La tesis doctoral aquí reseñada pretende aquí reseñada pretende constituir una lectura del filósofo griego Sexto Empírico, dejando de lado el aspecto doxográfico por el que generalmente se le reconoce.

La hipótesis de trabajo, pues, es que hay una filosofía en Sexto empírico, y esa filosofía se articula en torno al tema del fin moral de la "epokhé". El tratamiento del contenido moral de la filosofía escéptica, tal como nos es transmitida por Sexto, conduce sin embargo al análisis de la psicología escéptica y la cuestión del fenomenismo.

La tesis se divide en tres partes:

A) En la primera parte se tratan dos cuestiones, por así decir, "externas" a la filosofía, pero cuyo examen era inexcusable debido a la confusión e incertidumbre reinantes: la datación de nuestro autor y su relación con la medicina empírica.

- Respecto a la datación, tras pasar revista tanto al conjunto de las fuentes como a la considerable literatura erudita existente al respecto, las conclusiones se inclinan por el rechazo de la datación convencional (fines siglo II o principios siglo III d.C), basada en el argumento "ex silentio" en Galeno, y se defiende la hipótesis del "floruit" en torno a la época de Hadriano.

- En lo que se refiere a la escuela de medicina empírica, el análisis se basa en la edición de los fragmentos y testimonios de la escuela llevada a cabo por Deichgräber. El examen de ese material, sorprendente por su modernidad, nos lleva a proponer una similitud con el trabajo de Semmelweiss sobre la fiebre puerperal, comparación cuyo consciente anacronismo apunta a ejemplificar la tesis foucaultiana del nacimiento de la mirada médica moderna en función de la institución de la clínica. S1n embargo, por lo que hace al tema de la posible influencia del empirismo médico en la filosofía escéptica, la conclusión es más bien negativa.

B) La segunda parte se inicia con la recensión del libro XI de "Adversus Mathematicus", el dedicado a la refutación de las doctrinas morales de la Antigüedad. Se trata de una primera aproximación al tema, centrada en el comentario a los pasajes más importantes o de mayor dificultad de la obra.

En la siguiente sección de esta segunda parte ("El sentido moral de la filosofía escéptica'"), se presenta lo que será la tesis que se propone: el fin eminentemente moral del escepticismo, desde los orígenes pirronianos hasta la interpretación de Sexto. A tal efecto, se analizan los elementos que constituyen el cuádruple criterio para, finalmente, concluir en el sentido del "afortunado azar" que conecta los momentos epistemológico y moral de la doctrina.

C) La tercera parte se abre con una nota sobre la metodología empleada en la lectura filosófica de nuestro autor. Tras el análisis de las fuentes antiguas, paralelas a la obra del propio Sexto, se pasa al estudio de los dos temas que constituyen el núcleo de esta tercera parte: la "psicología" o gnoseología y el fenomenismo escépticos.

1. - La psicología escéptica es, en realidad, el negativo de la psicología estoica. En este sentido, se rechaza la interpretación que ve en el escepticismo una coherente teoría del conocimiento próxima al empirismo moderno. Se examinan los aspectos más relevantes de la psicología estoica, a saber, la naturaleza y divisiones de la "fantasia", la "kataleptiké fantasia" y las objeciones académico-escépticas a la misma. En el contexto de una más amplia comprensión del escepticismo como una teoría de la experiencia, se analiza el lugar de la razón, teórica y práctica, en la psicología escéptica: a través de una comparación con el juicio estético, se intenta mostrar a qué se parece una experiencia que prescinde del dogma, un sentido común no dogmático.

2:.- La comprensión del "fenómeno" y su papel en la gnoseología y la ética escépticas ocupa la segunda sección de esta última parte. Aquí se propone una interpretación de "tó faindmenon" alejada de la tradicional, que lo asimila a la "fantasia". En Sexto Empírico, el "fenómeno", desde la perspectiva que la tesis defiende, posee un carácter metafísico, ligado a la naturaleza antidogmática de la "epoké" y al fin moral de la "ataraxia". Ahora bien, esta interpretación supone afirmar un nuevo sentido del término en el escepticismo de Sexto y, consecuentemente, postular una evolución interna del concepto, desde su primitivo carácter de criterio sensible hasta la solución sextina a lo que hemos denominado "la aporía de Epicuro", pasando por la tentativa de conciliación de Enesidemo.

Finalmente, se concluye con una recapitulación general que pretende dar cuenta de los resultados alcanzados.

Un apéndice consistente en la traducción del libro XI de "Adversus Mathematicos", libro que ha servido de base a la interpretación de la doctrina escéptica, cierra la presente obra.

O presente trabalho pretende explorar o universo ético do ceticismo pirrônico antigo de Sexto Empírico. Para tanto, investigamos o tema nos livros em que Sexto trabalha a questão da ética, a saber, Hipotiposes Pirrônicas, livros I e III, e Contra os Éticos. Sexto apresenta, no livro I das Hipotiposes, a concepção geral do ceticismo. Essa apresentação permite entender como o cético se relaciona com a ética, tanto do ponto de vista da sua reflexão sobre a ética dogmática, como da sua ação ética. Sobre este último ponto, Sexto rejeita as críticas feitas pelos filósofos dogmáticos com relação a impossibilidade da vida prática do cético, indicando qual seria o critério cético de ação. As outras duas obras desenvolvem a reflexão cética sobre a ética. Examinaremos se as duas obras estão de acordo com a apresentação feita no livro I das Hipotiposes, ressaltando a unidade e a autenticidade que o pensamento pirrônico de fato tem. Inicialmente, nos livros sobre ética, Sexto investiga, a respeito das filosofias dogmáticas de sua época, principalmente a dos estoicos, a natureza do bem, do mal e do indiferente, visto que os modelos éticos de sua época consistem numa reflexão sobre esses conceitos. Ao aplicar o seu método filosófico, a argumentação dos dois lados de uma questão, gerando a equipolência, Sexto conclui que a única solução possível para os temas éticos, tal como os dogmáticos a entendem, é suspender o juízo sobre se existe algo que seja o bem, o mal ou o indiferente por natureza. Em segundo lugar, Sexto mostra que toda arte de viver está fadada ao fracasso, visto que estão também vinculadas aos conceitos morais por natureza. Finalmente, voltaremos à questão prática, quando Sexto apresenta o modelo cético de guiar uma vida eticamente, tendo os fenômenos como o critério cético de ação. Desta forma, apresentaremos o pensamento ético pirrônico de Sexto Empírico, com seu estilo próprio e suas características inovadoras e sofisticadas.
This study aims to explore the ethical universe of ancient pyrrhonian scepticism of Sextus Empiricus. We therefore investigated the subject in books where Sextus works the question of ethics, namely Pyrrhonian Hypotyposes, books I and III, and Against the Ethical. Sextus presents, in Book I of Hypotyposes, the general conception of scepticism. This presentation allows to understand how the skeptic it relates to ethics, both from the point of view of its reflection on the ethics dogmatic as their ethical action. On this last point, Sextus rejects the criticisms made by dogmatic philosophers regarding the impossibility of practical life of the skeptic, indicating what would be the criterion for action skeptical. The other two works develop skeptical reflection on ethics. Examine whether the two works are consistent with the presentation of the book I Hypotyposes, emphasizing unity and authenticity that thought has indeed Pyrrhonian. Initially, the books on ethics, Sextus investigates about the dogmatic philosophies of his day, especially the Stoics, the nature of good, bad and indifferent, since the ethical models of his day consists of a reflection on these concepts. By applying his philosophical method, the arguments on both sides of an issue, generating equipollence, Sextus concludes that the only possible solution to the ethical issues, such as the dogmatic understand it, is to suspend judgment about whether there is something that the good, bad or indifferent in nature. Second, Sextus shows that all art of living is doomed to failure, as they are also linked to moral concepts in nature. Finally, back to the practical question, when Sextus presents the model skeptical of guide a life ethically, with phenomena such as skeptical criterion of action. Thus, we present the ethical thinking Pyrrhonian of Sextus Empiricus, with its own style and its innovative features and sophisticated.

Abstract:
Despite the role played by the South East Treaty Organisation (SEATO) in the defence of Western interests in that region during the Cold War, there has to date been no scholarly attempt to examine the development and performance of the organisation as a military alliance. This thesis is thus the first attempt to do so and as such seeks to take advantage of the recent release of much SEATO-related official material into the public domain by Western governments. This material throws new light upon SEATO???s aims and achievements, particularly in regard to the first ten years of its existence. Because SEATO was eventually rendered irrelevant by the events of the Second Indochina War (1965-1975) a popular perception has arisen that it was always a ???Paper Tiger??? lacking in substance, and thus easily dismissed. This thesis challenges this assumption by examining SEATO???s development in the decade before that conflict. The thesis analyses SEATO???s place in the wider Cold War and finds that it was part of a rational and consistent response within the broader Western strategy of containment to deter, and if need be, defeat, the threat of communist aggression. That threat was a very real one for Southeast Asia in the aftermath of the First Indochina War and one that was initially perceived in terms of the conventional military balance of power. This focus dominated SEATO???s strategic concepts and early contingency planning and rightly so, as an examination of the strength and development of the PLA and PAVN during this period demonstrates. SEATO developed a dedicated military apparatus, principally the Military Planning Office (MPO), that proved itself to be perfectly capable of providing the level of co-ordination and planning needed to produce a credible SEATO deterrent in this regard. SEATO enjoyed less success with its attempts to respond to the emergence of a significant communist insurgent threat, first in Laos then in South Vietnam, but the alliance did nonetheless recognise this threat and the failure of SEATO in this regard was one of political will rather than military doctrine. Indeed this thesis confirms that it was the increasingly disparate political agendas of a number of SEATO???s members that ultimately paralysed its ability to act and thus ensured its failure to meet its aims, at least insofar as the so-called ???Protocol States??? were concerned. But this failure should not be allowed to completely overshadow SEATO???s earlier achievements in providing a modicum of Western-backed stability and security to the region from 1955-1965.

Este trabalho teve como escopo detectar mecanismos presentes no processo de produção escrita de alunos que chegam ao sexto ano do Ensino Fundamental sem o domínio ortográfico esperado nesse nível de escolaridade, considerando o sexto ano como momento nodal para um apoio fundamentado àqueles que apresentem defasagem. Para tanto, analisa produções de quatro alunos de uma escola pública estadual da capital paulista, com base em postulados da Fonética e da Fonologia, em que são observadas as possíveis relações entre a consciência fonológica do português brasileiro e os processos de escrita. Reflexões da Psicolinguística concorrem para o entendimento de que os erros dos alunos são índices a serem considerados para intervenção didático-pedagógica. Para sintonizar intervenções na escola, postulados da Teoria da Atribuição Causal, voltados para a educação, são propostos com o intuito de compreender a disposição dos alunos diante das dinâmicas de ensino e aprendizagem. Uma sistematização das normas ortográficas do português embasa sugestões de abordagens em sala de aula para superação dos problemas apontados.
This dissertation aims to describe the mechanisms involved when sixth-grade students do not achieve expected levels in orthography. The sixth-grade is considered a critical time to provide appropriate support for those students who are under-achieving. Psycholinguistics have postulated that student errors are indicators of the need for pedagogical didactic intervention. The study analyses the written work of four students from a public school in the State of Sao Paulo, from a Phonetic and Phonologic perspective. A relationship between phonological awareness of Brazilian Portuguese and writing processes was observed. To understand the engagement of students with teaching and learning, the Attribution Theory is suggested in order to adjust school interventions. A system of Portuguese orthographic norms was part of the research, along with suggestions for practical intervention.

Abstract:
The northern Shikoku region is located in the Western part of Japan and faces towards the Seto Inland Sea. The forest area, which is one of the non-point sources in the Seto Inland Sea watershed, occupies 75% of the land use in the watershed of the northern Shikoku region. The amount of loadings of nutrients and COD in the Seto Inland Sea has been estimated by the unit load method but actually the data has not been investigated. It is however, necessary to know the real concentration of nitrogen in mountain streams to evaluate the role which is the mountain area plays as non-point sources. Therefore, more water samples of mountain streams in the watershed need to be taken and the concentrations of nitrogen analyzed. The mountain streams in the northern Shikoku area were investigated from April, 2015 to November, 2015. The number of sampling sites was 283, in addition to the past data by Kunimatsu et al. The average concentration of nitrate nitrogen in Ehime, Kagawa, and Tokushima was 0.61mg/L, 0.78mg/L and 0.34mg/L, respectively. The environmental standard range for nitrogen in the Seto Inland Sea is from between less than 0.2mg/L and less than 1mg/L. Therefore, the average concentration of nitrogen in these regions was over category II, and those of mountain streams in Kagawa Prefecture exceeded category III. About 20% of mountain streams were more than 1mg/L. It has become clear that mountain areas occupy an important position as non-point sources for the Seto Inland Sea.

Abstract:
The northern Shikoku region is located in the Western part of Japan and faces towards the Seto Inland Sea. The forest area, which is one of the non-point sources in the Seto Inland Sea watershed, occupies 75% of the land use in the watershed of the northern Shikoku region. The amount of loadings of nutrients and COD in the Seto Inland Sea has been estimated by the unit load method but actually the data has not been investigated. It is however, necessary to know the real concentration of nitrogen in mountain streams to evaluate the role which is the mountain area plays as non-point sources. Therefore, more water samples of mountain streams in the watershed need to be taken and the concentrations of nitrogen analyzed. The mountain streams in the northern Shikoku area were investigated from April, 2015 to November, 2015. The number of sampling sites was 283, in addition to the past data by Kunimatsu et al. The average concentration of nitrate nitrogen in Ehime, Kagawa, and Tokushima was 0.61mg/L, 0.78mg/L and 0.34mg/L, respectively. The environmental standard range for nitrogen in the Seto Inland Sea is from between less than 0.2mg/L and less than 1mg/L. Therefore, the average concentration of nitrogen in these regions was over category II, and those of mountain streams in Kagawa Prefecture exceeded category III. About 20% of mountain streams were more than 1mg/L. It has become clear that mountain areas occupy an important position as non-point sources for the Seto Inland Sea.

Abstract:
The Seto Inland Sea, the largest enclosed sea in Japan, has unrivalled beauty of archipelago and abundant nature under temperate climate with light rain falls, and the people has been benefitted from the sea ever since the early times. We however experienced sever water pollution problems caused by rapid industrialization and the loss of seaweed bed and tidal flat due to reclamation projects particularly in the period of the high economic growth in 1960s. To resolve these issues, we have carried out water quality improvement programs including reduction of pollutant load based upon the Water Pollution Control Law and the Law concerning Special Measures for Conservation of the Environment of the Seto Inland Sea. As a result, water quality has improved as compared with Tokyo Bay and other enclosed seas. However, there are still severe problems including the occurrence of red tide and oxygen deficient water mass in some areas in the Seto Inland Sea. Securing the bio-diversity, bio-productivity and smooth nutrient circulation are also important. Under these situations, the Law and the Basic Plan for Conservation of the Environment of the Seto Inland Sea were revised in 2015. With these law and plan, it has been made clear that our principal objective is to make the Seto Inland Sea a “Bountiful Sea” through conservation of water quality with bio-diversity and bio-productivity. Also the importance to implement environmental measures corresponding local differences in the respective region and seasonality were indicated. In order to actualize “the Beautiful and Bountiful Seto Inland Sea”, we need to implement environmental water management as follows. 1. Environmental conservation, restoration and creation of coastal areas. 2. Conservation and management of water quality. 3. Conservation of natural and cultural landscapes. 4. Sustainable utilization of fishery resources. Ministry of the Environment, Japan will continue to conduct corresponding programs based on scientific survey and evaluation on conservation/restoration of seaweed bed, tidal flat, smooth circulation of nutrients.
