Abstract:
The objective of this research was to select the most effective warm asphalt additives for mix practice based on a series of laboratory testing programs such as density, Marshall stability, freeze-thaw splitting strength, dynamic stability, and bending beam strain. The experimental design of warm mix asphalt included the use of three commonlyused additives, two typical aggregate gradations, one crushed aggregate, and one modified asphalt. Results showed that: (1) the bulk specific gravity and air voids of all the mix specimens were similar to those of controls; (2) the Marshall stability and f

Abstract In most European countries, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) technology is still being used as the standard for the production and processing of bituminous mixtures. However, from the perspective of environmental acceptability, global warming and greenhouse gas production, Slovakia is making an effort to put into practice modern technology, which is characterized by lower energy consumption and reducing negative impacts on the environment. Warm mix asphalt technologies (WMA), which have been verified at the Department of Transportation Engineering laboratory, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Slovak

To investigate and compare the influence of various commonly used warm mix asphalt (WMA) additives on the physical, mechanical, and performance properties of WMA, a series of laboratory testing programs such as air void, voids in mineral aggregate, freeze-thaw splitting, wheel tracking test, and bending beam tests were performed. The experimental design of WMA mixtures included the use of three WMA additives of Sasobit, Evotherm and Rediset, two asphalt binders of SK-70 base asphalt, and a styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS)-modified one. The testing results of WMA were also compared to that hot m

Abstract:
The properties of asphalt materials have a significant impact on the quality and performance of road surfaces. Asphalt materials are the main factor affecting low-temperature cracking of road surfaces. The low-temperature performance of asphalt and asphalt mixtures has a significant impact on the quality and service life of road surfaces in northern and central China. SHRP research results suggest that asphalt contributes 80% to the cracking resistance of asphalt pavement. Low temperature cracking is one of the main diseases of asphalt pavement, which is more common in northern China, especial
