BackgroundSome people who take selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants report that their experience of emotions is ‘blunted’. This phenomenon is poorly understood.AimsTo understand patients' experiences of this phenomenon.MethodQualitative study, gathering data through individual interviews, a group interview and validation interviews; and searching patient websites for relevant posts.ResultsThere was strong evidence that some people taking SSRIs experience significant emotional symptoms that they strongly attribute to their antidepressant. The Optimal Foraging Theory was used to identify possible patterns in bark extraction and the selective cutting ofAnadenanthera colubrina(Angico), a medicinal plant. The hypotheses were built on two approaches: selection of collection place and bark exploitation occurrence in only one of these resource areas. The results suggest that the distance that must be traveled to reach each gathering site determines the extent of the extraction process, showing that people minimize the time and energy spent inA. colubrinacollection. The availability of each site appears not to influence the operation.

AbstractIntroductionThe introduction of advanced practitioner roles has challenged the traditional boundaries of health care. While studies have been undertaken to understand the role of physicians in respect of mass-gathering medicine, the role of advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs) has not been investigated.ProblemDoes the presence of an ANP reduce the referral rates of patients presenting for medical care at mass-gathering events to external health care resources?MethodsA prospective observational study was undertaken to determine whether the presence of an ANP would reduce the patient refe

Gundelia tournfortiiis a perennial herb with a rosette and thickened root, growing in grasslands. In the Middle East, its leaf bases are used as a vegetable. Harvesting is by clipping the rosette at its base, and stripping the leaves from the leaf bases. In the last 20 years clipping and gathering has become more widespread, and a commercial trade has developed. The aim of this study was to discover whether, as a result of the rise in demand, the density and distribution potential of this edible plant are liable to come under threat. The percentage of flowering plants in the non-harvested areas

The purpose of this study is to design and explain a prospective model for measuring tourism sustainability in Kish Island. Accordingly, the conceptualization of coastal architecture or tourism, the identification of influential factors and operational strategies for improving the tourism industry, especially on the coastal dimensions of the island, have been considered. Due to the exploratory nature of the research, the strategy used in this research is Grounded theory. The sampling used in this study was theoretical sampling. Visual attention is a basic mechanism of information gathering and environment selection and consequently plays a fundamental role in influencing developmental trajectories. Here, we highlight evidence for predictive associations from early visual attention to emotion regulation, executive function, language and broader cognitive ability, mathematics and literacy skills, and neurodevelopmental conditions. Development of visual attention is also multifaceted and nonlinear. In daily life, core functions such as orienting, selective filtering, and processing of visual inputs are intertwined and i

By way of illustration, this study focusses on how requests from the United States of America enabled an African author to collect interesting data on that country’s military medicine with reference to such parameters as the specialties of the requesters, the selective nature of their requests, and even women’s inferior position in science. One of the goals of personalized medicine is to understand and treat diseases with greater precision through the molecular profile of the patient. This profiling is becoming a powerful tool for the discovery of novel biomarkers that can guide physicians in assessing, in advance, the disease stage, and monitoring disease progression. Circulating miRNAs and exosomal miRNAs, a group of small non-coding RNAs, are considered the gold standard diagnostic biomarkers for human diseases. We have previously demonstrated that osteosarcoma-derived exosomes are able to influence crucial mechanisms inside t
