Tungsten carbide cutting tools with and without solid lubricant (WC-10Co-5CaF2 and WC-10Co) were developed in-house via powder metallurgy. The developed cutting tools and a commercial WC-10Co cutting tool were used to machine cylindrical AISI 1020 steel material under dry conditions. The cutting force and average cutting tool temperature were continuously measured. The cutting tool flank surface and chip morphology after specific tool life (5 min of cutting) were examined to understand tool wear. The flank wear of the considered cutting tools was also measured to quantify the cutting tool life

Objectives:Although measuring the utilization of ambulatory and home-based healthcare resources is an essential component of economic analyses, very little methodological attention has been devoted to the development and evaluation of resource costing tools. This study evaluated a newly developed tool, the Ambulatory and Home Care Record (AHCR), which comprehensively evaluates costs incurred by the health system and care recipients and their unpaid caregivers. Methods:The level of agreement between self-reports from 110 cystic fibrosis care recipients and administrative data was assessed for fo

The work is dedicated to investigation of the particulars of stressed-deformed state of fine disc tool with internal cutting section under conditions of its pre-stressing. It was suggested for reduction of tools oscillations at cutting to apply pre-stressing of the tools disc by means of controlling elements. The elements, which control the elements stress allowed to eliminate self-oscillations and resonance oscillations of the tool at high-speed materials cutting. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of teaching setting [peer versus practicum] and self-evaluation tools [Continuous Response Digital Interface (general) versus behavioral checklist (specific)] on the development of teacher intensity behaviors among preservice elementary education majors enrolled in a music methods course. Subjects were divided into four treatment groups and completed a pretest and posttest and four treatment lessons. Analyses indicated that teaching setting and self-evaluation did not have a differential effect on teacher intensity. All subjects made signific

IntroductionNegative symptoms are found in many patients with schizophrenia, but their assessment remains delicate. Standardized assessments are therefore needed to facilitate their identification. Many tools have been developed but most of them are assessments based on observer rating. Nevertheless, patient subjective evaluation can provide an additional outcome measure and allow patients to be more engaged in their treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present past and recent tools assessing the subjective experience of negative symptoms; we will particularly focus on a novel too

Abstract:
Taper-cutting experiments are important means of exploring the nano-cutting mechanisms of hard and brittle materials. Under current cutting conditions, the brittle-ductile transition depth (BDTD) of a material can be obtained through a taper-cutting experiment. However, taper-cutting experiments mostly rely on ultra-precision machining tools, which have a low efficiency and high cost, and it is thus difficult to realize in situ measurements. For taper-cut surfaces, three-dimensional microscopy and two-dimensional image calculation methods are generally used to obtain the BDTDs of materials, wh

A pilot program mentoring youth professionals through “learning-by-doing” projects yielded consistent increases in evaluation knowledge and skills over three years. Self-assessed skill improvements were greatest for preparatory processes (planning, focusing, design, selecting methods) and reporting competencies that are more often emphasized in organizational evaluation requirements. Smaller increases in data collection and analysis skills were also perceived by participating youth professionals. Focus groups with each of six evaluation “learning circle” groups revealed benefits of participati
