Abstract:
Due to the rapid growth of technology, technological devices have begun to influence every aspect of our lives. In addition, technology is used extensively in education. Technology in education has several benefits, including allowing students to actively participate in lessons, creating a multi-learning environment, and making learning permanent. Therefore, teachers are expected to integrate technology into their lessons. Teachers' usage of technology tools has increased daily since the entrance of COVID-19 into our lives and the continuance of education as distance education. This research aims to determine teachers' self-efficacy in using information technologies. The survey research model was a quantitative research technique employed in this investigation. Two hundred eleven instructors employed in Balıkesir secondary schools for the academic year 2021–2022 make up the study group in this study. Teachers' self-efficacy is high due to the research; In terms of gender, age, branch, type of institution or education level, there was no noticeable difference. The conclusion reached was that there was a substantial difference based on undergraduate computer education.

Abstract:
It is widely believed that eHealth will play a vital role in the development and shaping of healthcare systems in the twenty first century. However, despite all documented reports and benefits of eHealth technologies, many attempts to extend successful pilot projects have not sufficiently met promised results and to a large extent failed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the Centre for Rheumatology’s current implementation process of eHealth services in order to identify success factors and improvement areas. To reach the purpose, the research was delimitated to solely focus on the eHealth service Patient Self-Test and the implementation of it at the care unit. The research was conducted as a case study with a qualitative approach based on the notion of induction. The research process consisted of three major areas: pre-study, literature review and qualitative interviews. The pre-study was based on interviews with different actors within the health care industry in Sweden to provide an academic, political and business perspective of the research area. The literature review focused on the areas eHealth and change management and empirical data was gathered through qualitative interviews. Moreover, to have a tool for analysis, a research framework named 4 Seasons Model was developed. The results of the thesis indicate on a gap between how the literature advocates the implementation of transitional changes, and how it is currently done at Centre for Rheumatology’s. Based on an analysis from a 4 Seasons Model perspective, three success factors and seven improvement areas have been identified in Centre for Rhematology’s current implementation process of the Patient Self-Test.

Abstract:
Information and communication technology has for long been integrated into learning and teachers utilize all forms of digital technology for communication as well as to simplify learning. To adapt, teachers need to personally or through informal learning process, learn about new technologies and how to utilize them to improve learning. To personally educate themselves, the teachers need to dedicate time and resources to identify ICT competence areas where is needed and sort for resources to solve it. This thesis investigates the process of self-directed learning with a group of teachers in a planned competence development program within a local municipality’s educational department, on the use of digital technology to integrate into classrooms. With action research that integrates instructional learning from the organizations perspective and inquiry learning from teacher’s perspective, self-directed learning process was tested as a simple and structured process for self/collaborative learning, for participants. The result was a series of events that summarized why teachers could not follow the learning process, with a conclusion that in order for teachers to be self-directed in learning new ICT, the organizational need to allocate time not only for instructional learning, but also for inquiry learning.

Abstract:
Educational Psychology
Ph.D.
This study examined how learners construct textbase and situation model knowledge in hypertext computer-based learning environments (CBLEs) and documented the influence of specific self-regulated learning (SRL) tactics, prior knowledge, and characteristics of the learner on posttest knowledge scores from exposure to a hypertext. A sample of 160 undergraduate education majors completed measures of prior knowledge, goal orientation, intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy to self-regulate learning, and a demographic survey. They were trained in the use of nStudy, a learning environment designed to facilitate self-regulated learning from web-based media including hypertext and to trace learners' actions while they learned online. Learners completed a 20-minute study session learning about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and a posttest to assess changes in knowledge scores. Results indicate that employment of individual SRL tactics including tendency to highlight was found to be associated with increased posttest knowledge scores across learners. Goal orientation and prior knowledge also significantly predicted posttest knowledge scores in regression models. These findings can be used to inform the design and use of hypertext in order to individualize computer-based instruction and maximize knowledge acquisition for students, based upon their individual characteristics.
Temple University--Theses

This dissertation is a multi-perspective inquiry into the phenomenon of social media use in organizational context. Abstract:
AbstractThe advancement of technology following the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the surge in demand for untact services caused by COVID-19 will gradually expand the scope of service automation through artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. In practice, numerous hotels are adopting AI-based service technologies, but it is still in its early stage to provide guidelines for the overall service strategy for this technology. Therefore, this study conducted a study on the failure of AI based self-service technologies (SSTs), service recovery, and the psychological expectations of customers’ SST. An online survey was conducted on respondents who had experience using AI based SSTs, and a total of 370 responses were used for analysis. As a result of structural model analysis through AMOS, it was found that adequate service recovery and low expectations for SSTs were satisfied with SSTs and hotels as a result, even if service failures were experienced. These findings provide specific practical guidelines for many hotels promoting AI-based service automation.

Abstract:
AbstractThis work focuses on the following question: is it possible to influence the behavior of self-interested agents through the strategic provision of information? This ‘sweet talk’ is ubiquitous among all sorts of economics and non-economics activities. In this work, we model these multi-agent systems as games between an informed sender and one or multiple receivers. We study the computational problem faced by an informed sender that wants to use his information advantage to influence rational receivers with the partial disclosure of information. In particular, the sender faces an information structure design problem that amounts to deciding ‘who gets to know what’. Bayesian persuasion provides a formal framework to model these settings as asymmetric-information games. In recent years, much attention has been given to Bayesian persuasion in the economics and artificial intelligence communities due also to the applicability of this framework to a large class of scenarios like online advertising, voting, traffic routing, recommendation systems, security, and product marketing. However, there is still a large gap between the theoretical study of information in games and its applications in real-world scenarios. This work contributes to close this gap along two directions. First, we study the persuasion problem in real-world scenarios, focusing on voting, routing, and auctions. While the Bayesian persuasion framework can be applied to all these settings, the algorithmic problem of designing optimal information disclosure polices introduces computational challenges related to the specific problem under study. Our goal is to settle the complexity of computing optimal sender’s strategies, showing when an optimal strategy can be implemented efficiently. Then, we relax stringent assumptions that limit the applicability of the Bayesian persuasion framework in practice. In particular, the classical model assumes that the sender has perfect knowledge of the receiver’s utility. We remove this assumption initiating the study of an online version of the persuasion problem. This is the first step in designing adaptive information disclosure policies that deal with the uncertainty intrinsic in all real-world applications.

Rudyk, Myroslava. JOURNALISM STANDARDS AND BLOGGING: PROFESSIONAL PRINCIPLES OF WORKING WITH INFORMATION IN THE BLOGOSPHERE. Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.30970/vjo.2022.51.11398.

Full text
Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of journalistic standards in the blogosphere, i.e. the extent to which bloggers adhere to professional principles in their work with information. The popularity of the blogosphere has spread not only to journalists but also to influential people, as well as amateur bloggers, who have created their own platforms to distribute useful or entertaining content. However, not all bloggers work on a professional basis, which creates many opportunities to spread misinformation and manipulate consciousness. Standard approaches to working with information, which have historically been developed in journalism, help to avoid hassles, create professional principles, which ultimately distinguishes journalism from amateur media. In total, researchers distinguish 6 standards of journalism: accuracy, promptness, reliability, completeness of information, the balance of opinions, separation of facts from comments. In the modern world, the approach to defining the concept of “media” has changed significantly. At one time, only professional communicators and traditional media could apply for this status. However, with the development of democratic processes, pluralism of opinion, mass internetization, globalization, and the spread of information beyond the borders of a particular country or locality, alternative sources of information began to appear. Domestic processes of media privatization and oligarchization also contributed to this, when the media became not only repeaters of information, but also a component of the media business and big politics, thus losing the trust of the audience. That is why the popularity of bloggers as independent communicators, opinion leaders, experts in various fields has grown. This was facilitated by the rapid development of information technology, the ability to quickly transmit information of any content, as well as no need for professional training in the field of media. The popularity of the blogosphere is due to the fact that with the new role of a blogger, everyone is given the opportunity to communicate publicly through the use of previously unknown and inaccessible tools. As for professional standards of working with information, bloggers mostly lack the reliability of the information, the balance of opinions and judgments, the separation of facts from comments. And the subjective author’s position is an advantage, giving the blogger an individual way of self-expression.
