Full textIn this thesis we consider the Dirichet-Neumann operator lambda-gamma which, to every datum f on the edge of a bounded smooth domain D, associates a current flux across a boundary, where represent a normal derivative of solution of the electrical conductivity equation. We show that lambda-gamma generates a semigroup S (t) analytic, compact, irreducible of Markov and contractive. We study the asymptotic behaviour of this semigroup in a space of continuous functions. Then, by a generalization of the Lax semigroup, we define the family of operators V (t) which converges in the sense of Chernoff to S (t). We show the compactness and regularizing characters of V (t). Finally, we present numerical results on the eigenvalues of lambda-gamma by methods of Prony and "Matrix Pencil"

Full textIn this thesis we mix the rational approximation procedure, which is a time approximation with approximation in the sense of Kato, which is a space approximation for neutron transport equation. We apply this procedure for explicit and implicit Euler, Crank-Nicolson and Predictor-Corrector schemes which have the rate 1,2 and 3 in the sense of rational approximation. By using Cherno's Theorem, we prove the convergence and we construct also the numerical illustration for justifying the above rate of convergence. In the last chapter, we give some generalization of Schauder and Krasnoselskii fixed point theorems in Dunford-Pettis Frechet spaces and which based on the notion of weakly compactness and U-equicontraction

Full textFor some decades automotive manufacturers are being evermore environmentally awake by reducing fuelconsumption in order to decrease the CO₂ emissions. In this context automotive vehicle performances keeps onprogressing in term of power, nevertheless there is an amplification of torsional vibrations coming fromirregular torques of the internal combustion engine or contacts between gears of the reducer and/or the gearboxfor any kind of powertrain. Several means enable the mitigation of these vibrations are applied in thepowertrain. For example, the dual mass flywheel or the centrifugal pendulum absorber which are based on theprinciple of the dynamic vibration absorber respectively tuned to a frequency and an acyclic order. To operateefficiently these dampers, the accuracy of the tuning is important. This is why we want to design a damperprototype more adjustable than the previous ones. This thesis aims to design a damper prototype based on anelectric circuit. The damper used here is an electromagnetic shunt which enables the coupling between thevibrating structure and an electric circuit. The components of this circuit are chosen in order to imitate thebehaviour of mechanical dampers, in particular the centrifugal pendulum absorber but without non-linearitiesintrinsic from the latter. Some applications of the electromagnetic shunt on a structure in forced vibration showpromising results for the integration of such an absorber in a powertrain

Full textIn this PhD thesis, we are interested in properties of a heat semigroup that ensure to recover Strichartz estimates in a general framework. More precisely, we consider a metric space with a doubling measure, equipped with a nonnegative self-adjoint operator generating a semigroup. The semigroup is said to be a heat semigroup since we assume that it satisfies typical Gaussian and Davies-Gaffney estimates. Firstly we define Hardy and BMO spaces associated with the semigroup and prove that we can interpolate with the usual Lebesgue spaces. By an adaptation of the classical tools of Littlewood-Paley theory to the heat semigroup setting, we show Lp − Lp’ destimates for p ϵ ((1, 2) and Strichartz inequalities from a H1 − BMO dispersive estimate. We then prove that this estimate can be reduced to microlocalized L2 − L2 one. A study of the dispersive phenomena for the wave propagator according to the region of the light cone allows to prove those L2 − L2 estimates. The different results of this work highlight the connections between dispersion for the wave equation and dispersion for Schrödinger equation. Thus we propose a new and unified way to prove dispersive estimates and Strichartz inequalities in a very abstract setting, adapted to a heat semigroup

Full textContinuity of *-representation and Hankel operators This thesis consists of two independent parts. In the first part of this work, we establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a *-representation a *-semigroup abelian topological S is continuous at the identity e of S. The results are obtained by means of a theorem of integral representation with respect to a measure supported by continuous semi characters. We then give several applications of these results. The second part of this thesis deals with Hankel operators anti-meromorphic symbols on an annulus. In the first place we put in place the framework of the general theory of Hankel operators associated with a Hilbert space of holomorphic functions A^2(μ) of square integrable with respect to a measure admitting relative index times. Next, we show that the space of Laurent polynomials is dense in A ^ 2 ( μ ) it allows us to clearly define the Hankel operators and study their spectral properties. In particular, many examples, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions, in terms of time, ensuring continuity compactness and Schatten classes of membership of the Hankel operators

Full textWeak order on a Coxeter group W is a partial order on W appearing in many areas of algebraic combinatorics. In this thesis, we propose a new general model for the study of the weak order and other related partially ordered sets (also called “posets”) and we explore various algebraic and combinatorial consequences of this construction. We begin with studying a restricted version of this model in Chapter 3. More precisely, we explain how one can associate a poset to any simple acyclic digraph together with a valuation on its vertices (also called “valued digraph”). We then prove that these posets are complete meet semi-lattices in general, complete lattices when the underlying digraph is finite, and we give an explicit formula to compute the value of their Möbius functions. Then, we show that the weak order on Coxeter groups of type A, B and A, the flag weak order, and the up-set (resp. down-set) lattices of any finite poset can be described within this theory. This description naturally leads to associate a quasi-symmetric function to any element of An And An, and we demonstrate that this function is in fact the corresponding Stanley symmetric function. In Chapter 4 we introduce the main results of this thesis. Indeed, we introduce in this chapter the generalization of the construction made in Chapter 3 to the case of any valued digraph, that is without the simplicity and acyclicity condition. Furthermore, this new definition allows us to get rid of some constraints of the definition of Chapter 3, allowing us to associate a complete lattice to each valued digraph. In particular, the meet semi-lattices of Chapter 3 are naturally extended into complete lattices. This leads us to the study of some conjectures of Dyer about the properties of an extension of the weak order having a lot of the properties conjecturally attached to Dyer’s extensions, and we prove that each one of our extensions contains Dyer’s extension as a sub-poset. We make the conjecture that one of this extension coincide with the one of Dyer, and we provide tools in order to test this conjecture. Finally, we study various consequences of out theory : we provide extensions of Cambrian semi-lattices into complete lattices (end of Chapter 4), we construct a new combinatorial model for Tamari and m-Tamari lattices (Chapter 5), and we finish with an application to tableaux combinatorics (Chapter 6)

Full textThis thesis studies the moduli space of principal G_2-bundles over a smooth connected projective curve, where G_2 is the exceptional Lie group of smallest rank. The group G_2 is first introduced as the group of automorphisms of the complex algebra of the Cayley numbers. Other equivalent definitions are also proposed. We study the reductions and extensions that a principal G_2_bundle can admit, as well as the link between a principal G_2-bundle and its associated vector bundle in relation to the notion of (semi)stability. The moduli space of semistable principal G_2-bundles is analysed. We notably obtain a characterisation of its smooth locus, with an explicit decomposition of its singular locus into three connected componants. We also give an analysis of the Verlinde space of G_2 at level 1

Full textThis thesis explores the links between stochastic calculus and analysis, in a Riemannian geometric framework. We are working on extending known results and tried and tested methods for the Euclidean space Rn into new results and methods for Riemannian manifolds. We consider two kinds of interactions. On the one hand, we study the stochastic interpretation of semi-groups and its applications to functional inequalities such as Poincaré and FKG. We study intertwining relations between diffusion and deformed parallel transport, between generators and between semi-groups. The classical criterion ensuring these relations is the Bakry-Émery criterion. Our main contribution is a generalisation of this criterion by the twisting method. We give a general condition to obtain intertwining, functional inequality and spectral gap results. We present how to use this theoretical result on explicit examples. Our method illustrates its efficiency by improving previously known results on generalized Cauchy measures. On the other hand, we study the Brenier-Schrödinger problem, seen as a relaxation of the minimization problem associated with Navier-Stokes equations. Our study takes place within the framework of compact manifolds with boundaries and we address twomain questions. Are the solutions of the Brenier-Schrödinger problem solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations and in which sense? Does the Brenier-Schrödinger problem admit a (unique?) solution? This work generalises previously known results on the Euclidean and torus framework. Our two main contributions are the study of the behaviour of velocities at the boundaries of the domain and the quotient method which allows to obtain spaces on which the incompressible Brenier-Schrödinger problem admits a unique solution

Full textThe predictive control or Receding Horizon Optimal Control (RHOC) is becoming increasingly popular in many practical applications due to its significant advantages such as the stabilization and constraints handling. It has been well studied for finite dimensional systems even in the nonlinear case. However, its extension to infinite dimensional systems has not received much attention from researchers. This thesis proposes contributions on the application of this approach to systems of conservation laws. We present a complete proof of stability of RHOC for some classes of infinite dimensional systems. This result is then used for 2x2 hyperbolic systems with boundary control, and applied to an irrigation canal. We also propose the extension of this strategy to networks of cascaded 2x2 hyperbolic systems with an application to a set of connected irrigation canals. Furthermore, we study the benefits of RHOC in the context of nonlinear and semi-linear systems in particular with respect to the problem of shocks. All theoretical analyzes are validated by simulation in order to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach

Full textLet G be a semisimple Lie group (of higher rank) and Γ a Zariski dense subgroup of G (of infinite covolume). In this thesis, we discuss two questions related to the Benoist limit cone of Γ : one concerns random walks, the other topological mixing of the directional Weyl chamber flow. In the introduction, we state the main results of this thesis in their context. In the second chapter, we recall some general facts about Lie groups and loxodromic elements. In the third chapter, we prove that every point of the interior of the limit cone is a Lyapunov vector. In the fourth chapter, we construct local coordinates of G and give key tools for the remaining parts. In the fifth chapter, we introduce the invariant subsets of G. In the last chapter of this thesis, we prove the topological mixing criterion of regular directional Weyl chamber flow obtained with O. Glorieux and we generalize this criterion to Γ\G for a class of Lie groups including SL(n, R), SL(n, C), SO(p, p + 2)

Full textIn many domains of computer graphics, combinatorial structures are used to describe objects subdivided into cells (vertices, edges, faces, volumes. . . ). A common problem in each domain is to characterize structural (topological) properties of handled objects. Homology is a topological invariant which characterizes the number of "holes" of an object in each dimension (i. E. Number of connected components in dimension 0, number of holes in dimension 1, number of cavities in dimension 2. . . ). The general framework of this study is the computation of homology groups and generators of these groups for simplicial, simploidal and cellular structures. Chapter 2 introduces basic notions of topology. In chapter 3, we describe different methods for computing homology groups (matricial and incremental). Chapter 4 is devoted to simploidal sets and to the computation of their homology groups

Full textThe dynamical properties of automorphism groups acting on tori have been widely studied. Nilpotent real Lie groups are a first generalization of abelian real Lie groups. Their quotients by lattices are called nilmanifolds. They generalize the notion of torus. In this thesis, we study the action of groups and semigroups of endomorphisms of some nilmanifolds, such as Heisenberg nilmanifolds. We describe three dynamical aspects of these actions : the density of orbits, the set of invariant measures and the existence of a spectral gap for operators on the L²-spaces associated to the nilmanifolds

Full textThis thesis is devoted to the spectral theory and the time asymptotic behavior of the solution to Cauchy problems governed by various transport operators. In the first part, we discussed the spectral properties of streaming and transport operators in finite bodies with general boundary conditions. After establishing a compactness result essential to our analysis, we gave a fine description of the asymptotic spectrum of the transport operator. We also derive the regularity and the asymptotic behavior of the solution to Cauchy problem governed by the transport operator supplemented by bounce-back boundary conditions plus a compact operator in the space L^1. In the second part, we discussed the well-posedness and the asymptotic behavior of the solution to Cauchy problem governed by a singular transport operator. Unlike the first part, the analysis of this problem requires the use of Miyadera-Voigt perturbation theory for unbounded operators. In the last part of this work, a Cauchy problem governed by a linear operator introduced by Lebowitz and Rubinow describing a proliferating cell population structured by age and the cycle length was considered. Here our analysis was devoted to the case where the maximum cycle length is infinite

Full textThis thesis is dedicated to the combinatorial, algebraic and homological study of hypertrees and semi-pointed partitions. More precisely, we study algebraic and homological structures built from hypertrees and semi-pointed partitions. After recalling briefly the notions needed, we use the theory of species of structures to compute the action of the symmetric group on the homology of the hypertree posets. This action is the same as the action of the symmetric group linked with the anticyclic structure of the PreLie operad. We refine our computations on a grading of the homology : Whitney homology. This study is a motivation for the introduction of the notion of edge-decorated hypertrees. A one-to-one correspondence of decorated hypertrees with box trees and decorated partitions enables us to compute a close formula for the cardinality of decorated hypertrees, thanks to a Prüfer code. Moreover, we adapt computation methods of characters on incidence Hopf algebras, introduced by W. Schmitt for families of bounded posets, to families of unbounded posets satisfying some additional properties, called triangle and diamond posets. We apply these results to the hypertree posets. Finally, we unveil a new family of posets : the semi-pointed partition posets, which generalize both partition posets and pointed partition posets. We show the Cohen-Macaulayness of these posets and obtain, thanks to species theory, a closed formula for the dimension of its unique homology group, which extend the ones established for partition posets and pointed partition posets
