Full textIn recent years, the flow of refugees to Sweden reached historic levels. Many of those who will flee Syria war. The group of Syrians who have permanent residence and is now going to create a new life in Sweden is great. How should Sweden take advantage of this group's expertise and how the refugees themselves will have a place in society in both the labor market but also socially. This is likely to be a recurring issue in the public debate. We feel that there are gaps in knowledge about these people and their ideas about Sweden, the way they thought it would be and how it turned out. This is an interview where six Syrians were asked about their expectations and experiences of Sweden. The results show that the respondents heard about Sweden as a free, democratic, egalitarian country with generous refugee policy and permanent residence permits. A country where you can be what you want only one struggling. When they add up how it has been for the first few years, they acknowledge that this is true but it is a long wait for a residence permit and yrkesvalideringar, it will take time before they get their first job and that it is difficult to find a forum where they can speak Swedish. The study can be developed in the future to investigate how the same group that has been in Sweden for some more time then understand their situation and if it changed.

Full textBackground: It can be perceived by the staff at the emergency departments that personcentered care is not possible given the short care meetings, set routines and various control documents for triaging and management of patients. This requires clarification of the concept and identifying factors that influence the application of person-centered care to the emergency department. Aim: Illustrate person-centered nursing in clinical work at emergency departments for adults, to identify various factors that may affect the possibilities of performing person-centered nursing. Method: Observational study with subsequent short semi-structured interviews with nine patients at an emergency department with qualitative content analysis and descriptive approach. Results: The results of the study build’s up to three main categories that reflect the content of the observations and interviews. Main categories with associated subcategories are: Personcentered care can affect the patient's experience of care- Person-centered care can affect the patients experience of care- A good response creates security and trust, the care staff's influence on the patients story, the patients expectation to have time for undisturbed conversation, to build a relationship through partnership. The patients expectations of their time given at the emergency- Time aspect in the history of taking care affects the patient in different ways. Good communication is a way of conveying information- The verbal and nonverbal communication of the health care staff affects the patients confidence, being informative creates participation, information through documentation. Conclusion: Nurses working in emergency care have different abilities in caring for patients regarding person- centered care and how they choose to allocate time in patients and communicate to create a relationship. This can be realized by strengthening the healthcare staff's ability to respond, receive continuous information and communicate.

Full textBackground: In Sweden today, there is recommended induction in week 42+0, in order to avoid overbearing. Maternity care in Sweden is constantly changing and since 1994 there has been an increase in inductions. A probable reason for this is that maternity clinics choose to induce childbirth even before 42 full weeks of pregnancy have been reached. Aim: To describe the delivery midwifes perception of induction in pregnancy week 41 and pregnancy week 42, during a normal uncomplicated pregnancy.Method: A qualitative interview study with an inductive approach based on eight semi-structured interviews - analyzed - with content analysis. Results: The analysis generated in four main categories: the body is not ready, the midwifery profession is threatened, ambiguity in society about inductions and lack of evidence. Midwives perceive risks and consequences with an immature cervix during induction. They perceive that the normal disappears in maternity care and becomes more physician-directed care that leads to an increased workload. Midwives also perceive a lack of evidence and ignorance in society regarding inductions. Conclusion: Induction is good when needed and when there are medical indications for it, but the midwifes believe and want the women’s healthcare to take a step back and start daring to trust the female body again.

Full textIntroduction: Compared to other occupational groups, farmers account for the most deaths due to stress and mental illness. Therefore, social support is becoming extremely important, as it seems to act as a health buffer against the stress and anxiety that many farmers suffer in their professional lives. Aim: The purpose of this study is to examine and describe farmers' experiences in social support. Method: Semi-structured interviews based on questions that reflected the study issue were held with Swedish farmers. The material was analysed and compiled through a qualitative content analysis, in which both the latent and manifest content were interpreted. Result: Farmers' experiences of social support is characterized by family and friends. When their support is not sufficient, most farmers say they are prepared to turn to professional actors, but ideally they turn to a familiar support. The family contributes both to social support and an experience of high demands. Summary: Farmers have several different sources of social support and generally positive experiences of these. What sometimes holds farmers back from seeking social support is the old traditional attitudes and the profession's strong ties to the family. Farmers do not want to worry their family and therefore they wait to tell them about worries.
