Abstract:
Abstract Background Mycetoma is a unique neglected tropical disease caused by a substantial number of different fungi or bacteria. Many of the disease's epidemiological characteristics are an enigma. Hence, understanding the spatial geographic distribution of mycetoma may clarify the association between the local environmental indicators, the spatial geographical distribution of mycetoma and its epidemiology. Methods This study set out to determine the spatial geographical distribution of mycetoma in the Eastern Sennar locality, Sennar State, one of the highly endemic states in Sudan. It included 594 patients with confirmed mycetoma seen at the Mycetoma Research Centre, University of Khartoum, Khartoum, Sudan, from 1991 to 2020. The spatial geographical distribution of these mycetoma patients was studied. The study area geographic information system data, which included geological, soil, temperature and land cover details, were collected in different geographic information forms. Different geographical analytical techniques were used. Results The patients' demographic characteristics were similar to those of the general characteristics of mycetoma patients in Sudan. Eumycetoma was the predominant type of mycetoma encountered in the studied patients. The data studied showed that most patients were located in the southern part of the locality along the Blue Nile river. The study showed an association between patients' spatial geographical distribution and soil types. Most patients’ localities had light clay soil (475 patients [80%]), followed by sandy loam soil (79 [13%]) then loam soil (40 [6.71%]). Also, 85% of patients' localities had the same land cover and vegetation. There was no significant correlation between patients' localities with temperature or any other geological characteristic. Conclusion The present study showed certain associations between mycetoma spatial geographical distribution and certain environmental indicators. However, a further in-depth study to provide greater insight into the disease's epidemiological characteristics is needed.

Abstract:
The study was conducted at the fish farm of the Department of Fish Sciences, Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Fish Sciences, Al-Neelain University. The purpose of the study is to compare the growth performance of different local strains of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) to provide the necessary information for conducting research leading to genetic improvement of the locally farmed Nile tilapia. Fish fry used in the study were spawned by brooders collected from, Jebel Aulia Dam Reservoir (White Nile strain A) , Sennar Dam Reservoir (Sennar strain B), Lake Nubia (Halfa strain C) and khashm elgirba reservoier( Khashm elgirba strain D). The study was conducted for six weeks in twelve happas, each stocked with 30 fry in three replicates for each strain, averaging 5 g. Fish were fed by diet with a protein level of 35%. Statistical analysis showed Sennar strain was the best growth rate with a percent weight gain of 1529%, followed by white nile strain with a percent weight gain of 1114%, followed by khashm elgerba strain with a percent weight gain of 993% and finally Halfa strain with a percent weight gain of 829%. Daily Growth Rate gain was 0.9g/day for sennar strain, followed by other strain with no significant(≥0.05). Food Conversion Ratios (FCR) were best in sennar and white nile strain ,survival rate with the same no significant(≥0.05) between treatments. finally results indicated that there is significant( ≤ 0.05) between treatments so sennar and white nile strains is better than two strains in this study.

Abstract:
The erosion of the highway embankment slope's soil along the Wad Medani-Sennar road is a significant issue, as there are many traffic accidents on this road, with an average of 15 to 25 fatalities per annum. It was thus decided to investigate this issue to find a method to protect slope from erosion on this road and to provide new approaches to slope erosion knowledge gap in Sudan. An engineering survey was carried out, followed by geotechnical studies, experimental work and interviews with academic experts regarding native vegetation in the survey area. These include measuring the eroded parts of the road; studying cross- sections of the road; soil experiments to check the strength, compaction and particle size distribution; and a native vegetation survey to check for suitable plants that could be used to control the slope erosion. It was found that an appropriate bio-engineering method to stabilize the slope soil against erosion due to rainfall was to cultivate the grasses Cynodon Dactylon and Vetiver on the slopes. In conclusion, that using native vegetation for eco -protection, was an excellent solution to the problem based on the climate, native vegetation, and type of soil in Sudan and it reduces the accidents.

Abstract:
Abstract. Understanding socioeconomic changes associated with the conversion of rural areas to urban and the factors behind them are essential for future prospects. Theoretical debates on the topic have flourished. However, empirical case studies, particularly from developing nations, are limited. This study attempts to fill the gap through a case study of a village in Sudan. The development of Wad al Abbas village is investigated using remote sensing techniques employing free Landsat satellite images. The study used the Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) approach to detect the village sprawl between 1987 and 2018. Results showed significant built-up growth (84.5% increase) between 1987 and 1998 and this is linked to the natural increase in population, diversification of income as a result of a change in jobs from farming to trade, migration of a large number of its residents in and outside the country, and attraction of administrative and governmental institutions. Although Wad al Abbas starts to have a town feature in terms of population size and other metrics, still there are many challenges facing this transformation. These include water, education, health, sewage system, solid waste, drainage system, landslide, water channel for the agricultural scheme (canal), the meandering of the Blue Nile, and inner road network. High-resolution satellite images could be used to help in the investigation of these challenges. Recommendations are made on how to deal with these challenges. The lesson learned from this study is the value of the use of the space (free satellite images) to document changes that couldn’t be monitored especially in developing countries where historical maps or aerial photographs are not available.

This paper, through the literature review, seeks to demonstrate the complementary activity developted by private entities such as Senar / AR-GO, on social assistance. The Social assistance and the support to the activities of health and social insurance are items that are part of the Principle of Human Dignity, bringing decent life condition and survival for those who have sufficient financial resources or not. The Dignity of the Human makes part of Human Rights, and its recognition is important to reflect about the modern conception of citizenship (Federal Constitution of 1988), citizenship that allowed the evolution of worker rights (Labour and Social Security) and its importance to society. These rights must be guaranteed by state entities, although there are a lot of government omission, which grows mainly in the rural population. The Social Security makes room in the Organic Law of Social Assistance to the inclusion of private initiatives, among them, the Health Field Program Senar / AR-GO was chosen as an example of private activity to illustrate the contribution of corporate welfare in the developed by state entities.
Esta dissertação, através de revisão bibliográfica, busca demonstrar o papel complementar desempenhado por entidades privadas, como o Senar/AR-GO, na assistência social. A Assistência Social e o amparo às atividades de Previdência Social e Saúde são itens que integram o Princípio da Dignidade Humana, trazendo condições dignas de vida e sobrevivência para àqueles que possuem ou não recursos financeiros suficientes. A Dignidade da Pessoa Humana faz parte dos Direitos Humanos, sendo o seu reconhecimento importante para tecer reflexões sobre a concepção moderna de Cidadania (Constituição Federal de 1988), cidadania essa que possibilitou a evolução dos direitos do trabalhador (Direito do Trabalho e Seguridade Social) e sua importância perante a sociedade. Esses direitos devem ser garantidos por entes estatais, porém existe muita omissão governamental, que se acentua, sobretudo, na população rural. A Seguridade Social abre espaço na Lei Orgânica da Assistência Social para a inserção de iniciativas privadas, dentre elas, o Programa Campo Saúde do Senar/AR-GO foi escolhido como exemplo de atividade privada para ilustrar a contribuição de pessoas jurídicas na assistência social desenvolvida pelos entes estatais.

U disertaciji je prikazano teorijsko i praktično istraživanje koje se odnosi na projektovanje, fabrikaciju i karakterizaciju heterogeno integrisanih induktivnih senzora za mjerenje sile, pritiska i pomjeraja. Cilj istraživanja doktorske disertacije je kombinovanje različitih tehnologija izrade i materijala, kako bi se projektovali senzori koji će biti konkurentni aktuelnim rešenjima, i koji bi se mogli koristiti za konkretne primjene. U okviru istraživanja, heterogenom integracijom su kombinovane prednosti tehnologije štampanih ploča (Printed Circuit Board - PCB), fleksibilne tehnologije i tehnologije niskotemperaturne zajedno-pečene keramike (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics – LTCC). Razvijena su tri prototipa senzora za mjerenje sile, pritiska i pomjeraja korišćenjem struktura sa induktorom i feritom u njegovoj blizini. Mjerenje realizovanih prototipova senzora vrši se bežično pomoću spregnutog antenskog namotaja. Na osnovu početnih rezultata ispitivanja, senzori su modifikovani u cilju poboljšanja i optimizovanja performansi. Projektovani senzori omogućavaju bežično mjerenje, jeftini su, kompaktni i jednostavni. Na osnovu teorijske analize, simulacija, eksperimetnalnih mjerenja, ustanovljena je ispravnost rada i primjenljivost realizovanih senzora.
In doctoral thesis theoretical and practical investigation on design, fabrication and characterisation of heterogenous integrated inductive sensors for measuring force, pressure and displacement are shown. The aim of the thesis is to investige the usage of different technologies and materials in order to design sensors which will be competitive to actual solutions and usable for specific aplications. Using heterogenous integraton, advantages of Printed Circuit Board technology (PCB), flexible and Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramics (LTCC) technologies are used. Three sensor prototypes for measuring force, pressure and displacement are developed using inductor and ferrite in its near proximity. Measurements of the realised sensor prototypes are wirelessly done using an external surrounding coil as an antenna. Based on the initial measuring results, sensors are redesigned in order to improve and optimize their performance. Projected sensors are low-cost, compact, simple, and enable wireless measurement. The proper operation and applicability of realized sensors are confirmed using theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental testing with presented results.

This thesis describes utilization of a nanotechnology in new pressure sensors. Detailed analysis of individual principles are carrying on. And simulations and experimental models of sensors are developed. More detailed description is provided for new capacitive pressure sensor, which is manufactured using nanotechnology, including its model and analysis in order to improve its properties. The work deals with the emission pressure sensor which uses the principle of cold emissions, including analysis comparison of the measured values of the emission current from the applied nanotubes field and analysis to improve emissions performance.

Abstract:
This work deals with branch of gas sensors, their construction and methodology of testing. The general aim is a design and implementation of a station for simple testing of conduction gas sensors. The whole station is conceived as virtual measuring apparatus, operated by PC in LabView environment. The station enables mixing of any two gases at concentration demanded and measuring of the basic conduction characteristics of the thick-film and thin-film gas sensors. The central communication interface and modular conception enable easy expansion of possibilities of the whole apparatus in the future. It is possible to measure up to eight gas sensors split into two TO-12 packages simultaneously.

The SMT device contains temperature controller and electronics which is able to scan the concentration of gas on the sensor surface. It is designed for controlling of four sensors and has to communicate with computer for setting of initial conditions and scanning of concentration of gas. Disertacija istražuje primenu fleksibilne elektronike zakapacitivne senzore ugla i ugaone brzine tipa apsolutnog iinkrementalnog enkodera cilindrične strukture. Razmatraju se dvestrukture, apsolutnog i inkrementalnog enkodera. Izvršena je analizauticaja mehaničkih nesavršenosti na funkciju kapacitivnosti.Razvijena su dva prototipa kapacitivnih senzora za statičko idinamičko ispitivanje karakteristika senzora. Razvijena jeelektronika za obradu senzora inkrementalnog tipa saautokalibracijom senzora.
In this thesis a research on application of flexible electronics for capacitiveangular position and speed sensors, referred to as absolute and incrementalencoders, is done. It considers two structures of absolute and incrementalencoder type. An analysis of mechanical inaccuracies influence on acapacitance function is conducted. Two prototypes are developed and usedfor static and dynamic measurements of capacitive sensor's characteristics.An electronics front-end for a capacitive two channel incremental encoder withauto-calibration is developed.

Abstract:
Abstract This work presents a design methodology to address the complexity reduction of fuel-sender assembly. The current fuel-sender design is reviewed first by considering the present assembly, and then the complexity involved in the design and manufacturing processes are discussed. Using the current situation as the baseline, the proposed design is deployed for each subassembly of the fuel sender, along with parts manufacturability, assembly, and cost analyses, focusing on reducing the complexity of the fuel sender assembly. The group technology concepts are applied to the fuel level sensor, in which a shape factor and corresponding design control charts are defined and proposed for grouping particular fuel tank configurations with individual sensors. The optimum robust design techniques are considered for portions of the design proposed. Two goals are simultaneously targeted while satisfying the behavior constraints in the design phase. These goals are to reduce component cost, and to minimize the uncertainties associated with the manufacturing process. The results of the optimization analysis are used to produce the design drawings. The design proposed is intended as a first iteration, and will certainly be modified to become even more efficient in future iterations.
