Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to expand the investor sentiment’s effect on investment efficiency to the layer of “credit financing,” studying whether investor sentiment can affect credit financing level and the inner mechanism of the effect. Design/methodology/approach – The authors obtain firm-level data from the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets and using panel estimation techniques examine whether investor sentiment can affect credit financing level and the inner mechanism of the effect. Findings – This paper finds that credit financing plays the role of partial media in the process of investor sentiment affecting investment efficiency. Based on the funds increasing effect, with the high-investor sentiment and increasing credit financing, corporations alleviate the financing constraints, but also provide a convenient for the abuse of corporate funds. So, investor sentiment positively associates with enterprises’ overinvestment, while investor sentiment negatively associates with enterprises’ underinvestment. Relying on the particular system background and property right environment in China, this paper finds that investor sentiment has an effect on the overinvestment of state-owned enterprises and the underinvestment of private enterprises through credit financing channel, while it does not function in the overinvestment of private enterprises. The reason of the difference is that under the soft budget constraint in the country, the credit preference of state-owned enterprises and the creditor’s rights management of banks are partially absent. Research limitations/implications – By fusing the special financial environment and institutional background, this thesis further includes in the analysis frame the difference in governance effect by credit financing between state-owned and privately owned listed companies, and further analyzes the difference in impact on investment efficiency in enterprises of different natures after investor sentiment has affected enterprise credit financing. Practical implications – This paper has verified the constraint assumption and deepened the research work on bank credit supply and answered practical questions such as whether the banks in the country exercise supervision function over the listed companies and on which kind of listed companies the supervision function plays a more effective role. Social implications – As an unofficial substitution mechanism, bank-enterprise relationship can elevate the investment efficiency by private owned enterprises. Based on the timely research results on credit financing, reference is provided for private listed companies to utilize investor sentiment to improve its investment efficiency. Originality/value – This paper has proved the specific path which creates the dual effects on resources allocation by investor sentiment, that is, the intermediary transmission in credit financing, clarifying the mechanism of action by which investor sentiment affects the efficiency of enterprise investment and making incremental contribution to the research of how investor sentiment affects the efficiency of enterprise investment.

Abstract:
Natural Language Processing (NLP) allows machines to know nature languages and helps us do tasks, such as retrieving information, answering questions, text summarization, categorizing text, and machine translation. To our understanding, no NLP was used to translate statements from negative sentiment to positive sentiment with resembling semantics, although human communication needs. The developments of translating sentimental statements using deep learning techniques are proposed in this paper. First, for a sentiment translation model, we create negative–positive sentimental statement datasets. Then using deep learning techniques, the sentiment translation model is developed. Perplexity, bilingual evaluation understudy, and human evaluations are used in the experiments to test the model, and the results are satisfactory. Finally, if the trained datasets can be constructed as planned, we believe the techniques used in translating sentimental statements are possible, and more sophisticated models can be developed.

Abstract:
Text on the web has become a valuable source for mining and analyzing user opinions on any topic. Non-native English speakers heavily support the growing use of Network media especially in Chinese. Many sentiment analysis studies have shown that a polarity lexicon can effectively improve the classification consequences. Social media, where users spontaneously generated content have become important materials for tracking people's opinions and sentiments. Meanwhile, the mathematical models of fuzzy semantics have provided a formal explanation for the fuzzy nature of human language processing. This paper investigated the limitations of traditional sentiment analysis approaches and proposed an effective Chinese sentiment analysis approach based on emotion degree lexicon. Inspired by various social cognitive theories, basic emotion value lexicon and social evidence lexicon were combined to improve sentiment analysis consequences. By using the composite lexicon and fuzzy semantic model, this new sentiment analysis approach obtains significant improvement in Chinese text.

Abstract:
Background: Migraine is a highly prevalent disorder that is typically episodic in nature. Social network data reflecting personal commentary on everyday life patterns, including those interrupted by migraine, represent a unique window into the real-life experience of those willing to share them. The experience of a migraine attack might be captured by twitter text data, and this information might be used to complement our current knowledge of activity in the general population and even lead to enhanced prediction. Objective: To characterize tweets reporting migraine activity and to explore their social-behavior features as foundation for further investigations. Methods: A longitudinal cohort study utilizing 1 month of Twitter data from November to December 2014 was conducted. Tweets containing the word “migraine” were extracted, preprocessed, and managed using natural language processing (NLP) techniques. User behavior profiles including tweeting frequencies, high-frequency words, and sentimental presentations were reported and analyzed. Results: During the observation period, 98,622 tweets were captured from 77,335 different users. The overall sentiment of tweets was slightly negative for expressive tweets but neutral for informative tweets. Among posted negative expressive tweets, we found a strong tendency that high-frequent expressions were those with the extreme sentiment, and profanity was common. Conclusions: Twitter users with migraine showed distinct sentimental patterns while suffering from disease onsets exemplified by posting tweets with extreme negative sentiments.

Abstract:
We develop a rational theory of liquidity sentiments in which the market outcome in any given period depends on agents’ expectations about market conditions in future periods. Our theory is based on the interaction between adverse selection and resale considerations giving rise to an intertemporal coordination problem that yields multiple self-fulfilling equilibria. We construct “sentiment” equilibria in which sunspots generate fluctuations in prices, volume, and welfare, all of which are positively correlated. The intertemporal nature of the coordination problem disciplines the set of possible sentiment dynamics. In particular, sentiments must be sufficiently persistent and transitions must be stochastic. We consider an extension with production in which asset quality is endogenously determined and provide conditions under which sentiments are a necessary feature of any equilibrium. A testable implication is that assets produced in good times are of lower average quality than those produced in bad times. (JEL D84, D82, E32, E44, G12)

Abstract:
This thesis shows how Rousseau transformed the meaning of the word Nature. He first developped the idea of Nature to reflect on politics. It occured to him that nature was a place where violence had no dominion, insofar as it was outside of history. But this primitive state of nature has been lost to such an extent that it is no longer neither possible nor desirable to return to it. Nevertheless, Rousseau passionately sought a "wilderness" or "desert " that had survived intact. But he was only able to encounter this within his own heart. By deliberately confusing it with subjective experience he proposed a radical re-definition of nature which cannot be reduced to objective fact. External nature, place and landscape exist only in relation to a subject. We hold, therefore, that Rousseau's aesthetics can only be understood with reference to his philosophy of the inner life

Abstract:
This research on the sense of nature in the mosaics of roman african domus brings to light a pictorial space where landscapes can be easily recognized, even though it is radically different from any pictorial space introduced in european art, from the renaissance reinvention of perspective until cubism. The analysis bears upon mosaics that decorated a small number of african domus from the second to the the fifth century ad, previously studied by archeologists. The system of analysis, derived from methods first porposed by rudolph arnheim, brings to light specific features of the pictorial space of mosaics that had not been paid attention before. In particular, the specific composition, as an overlay of different pictorial spaces that reveal each a different relation to nature, characterizes a few remarkable african pavings. Each of these pictorial spaces evidences its own formal treatment, scale of representation of space, and domain of signification. A study of contemporary poetry, novels, and older works to which these ones referred their readers, has allowed further analysis of the significations. This study demonstrates the existence of a "landscape culture" that has found in roman african mosaics some of its most remarkable expressions. And yet, the object of its representation should not be compared in any way to a landscape according to contemporary ideas. "landscape culture" can be characterized by: 1) a discriminatory mode of appreciating nature that calls upon a ternary way of relating to nature; 2) an artistic form of representation fo nature; 3) a way of rendering nature present in the domus; 4)a specific attitude in the contemplation of nature. The analysis shows not only that the pictorial space in these pavings presents representations of nature imbedded into one another at several scales and playing upon various levels of poetical and religious signification, but also how the use of nature as an element of spatial design has made some domus into works of landscape architecture in their own right

Abstract:
This research is articulated around a founding hypothesis: the feeling of nature that motivates the hikers is an urban feeling. Loving the nature, searching for a physical contact with it, spending energy and money to go through it and experience extraordinary feelings are all elements of the modern cultural weft. Tourists at the GR20 (Corsica) and at the Chapada Diamantina (Bahia, Brazil) inherited from the history of the idea of nature, from the history of the individual and from the history of free time in western civilization. They are moved by the desire of nature, which is worked out in the urban routine, and which emergence conditions are similar in both countries. However, the features of the « hiking ritual » in each of these places change according to their social structures and their « national myths ». In one hand, we can see how French tourists in Corsica experience and act the « myth of the individual » (Miguel Benasayag), fulfilled by equality and autonomy values. On the other hand, Brazilian tourists perform a hierarchical social scene, which places them between the guide who serves them and the natural divinity that overwhelms them. In both cases, a political question can be asked: does the feeling of nature hide and legitimate a « selective democracy » (Jessé Souza) that is connected to a depoliticization of nature as raw material ?

This work is intended to show that David Hume&#8223;s moral philosophy associated reason to feeling, both in mental and social domains, like an inseparable compound in moral action and distinction. He believed that the artificiality of institutions did not implicate the negation of nature, but its extension. Thus, virtues and vices are recognized by humans as actions which respectively please and unplease them. This is because we share a nature in common that enables us to discern the utility of behavior for our survival according to the circumstances of time and space. Then, it means a refusal of the methaphysical objectivism and the religious authority as the foundation of morality. Hume understood his project as a complement to the Scientific Revolution of the seventeenth century, extending the use of experimental method in the field of morality.

Abstract:
Sentiment analysis is the automatic classification of a text, trying to determine the attitude of the writer with respect to a specific topic. The attitude may be either their judgment or evaluation, their feelings or the intended emotional communication. The recent increase in the use of review sites and blogs, has made a great amount of subjective data available. Nowadays, it is nearly impossible to manually process all the relevant data available, and as a consequence, the importance given to the automatic classification of unformatted data, has increased. Up to date, all of the research carried on sentiment analysis was focused on English language. In this thesis, two Turkish datasets tagged with sentiment information is introduced and existing methods for English are applied on these datasets. This thesis also suggests new methods for Turkish sentiment analysis.

Robert, Claire. Paris 3, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008PA030171.

Abstract:
In the 19th century, the industrial Revolution and the spectacular development of science, technology and transportation (railway) modified in depth the connections between Man and nature. In the French literature, a new feeling of Nature took shape, which carried in it the germs of three founding ecologies : ecology of the science of the living, ecology of landscapes and political ecology. After Rousseau, the writers made up a “naturalistic lyricism” around the sensitive re-discovery of forests, plants and animals, exploring thus a new ethics of the living (Michelet, Sand, Reclus, Maeterlinck). They launched the landscape of the “sublime” fashion (mountains and seas) and fed the myth of wild Nature, answering the American poets (Thoreau, Muir). They sketched out a poetic geography they meant to protect: “law of the sea”, “artistic reservations” in Fontainebleau, national park according to Robida, etc. The pre-ecological feeling confronted the ideology of progress (Verne, Saint-Simonism) and with the pessimism of the realistic and naturalist writers of the second half of the 19th century (Flaubert, Goncourt, Maupassant) ; but it re-appeared through the criticism of Modernity: sites denaturated by tourism (Töpffer, Champfleury, Daudet), bewitching cities (Baudelaire, Huysmans, Verhaeren), alienating mechanisation (Zola, Lafargue), social misery (Hugo), miasmas and waste (Taine). The literary questioned the future of the industrial and capitalist societies: are they on the way towards a new alliance with Nature or a large-scale disaster (Rosny, La Mort de la Terre), as a punishment of promethean pride?

Alchaar, Chafika. "Le sens de la justice chez Rousseau." Thesis, Bordeaux 3, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018BOR30021.

Full text
Abstract:
The justice cannot be understood in strictly moral or political terms. It is rather an articulation of politics and morality, which is based on a sense of morality that can then plays the founding role of a possible theory of justice; “sense of justice” therefore, first elaborated by Rousseau and then theorized by John Rawls who makes it one of the key links of his genealogy. It is only while understanding motivations that founded society, that is to say, by looking for the origin of this “sense”, that the principles of justice can then be established. In Émile, Rousseau questions the meaning of justice by asserting, in an original way, that the feeling of justice is historically prior to reasoning about justice. Starting from the definition of pity as a natural feeling to the human being, making him sensitive to the suffering of others, he emphasizes the importance of this feeling in the formation of the idea of justice. Moreover, in his social contract, Rousseau shows the other aspect of justice, justice as love of the order; the love of the body politic. In this sense, justice is a harmony between all the members of the body politic where everyone is at the same time member of the sovereign and subject. Our desire to analyze Rousseau’s notion of justice leads us to examine a series of questions. Here are the most important : what is Rousseau's sense of justice? Is his doctrine of the moral sense of justice in opposition to his political theory and his conception of the general will ? Is it possible, despite this duality of principles and definitions, to discover a common, sensitive or rational criterion of justice?

Abstract:
This study is in the area of sentiment classification: classifying online review documents according to the overall sentiment expressed in them. This paper presents a prototype sentiment-based meta search engine that has been developed to perform sentiment categorization of Web search results. It assists users to quickly focus on recommended or non-recommended information by classifying Web search results into four categories: positive, negative, neutral, and non-review documents. It does this by using an automatic classifier based on a supervised machine learning algorithm, Support Vector Machine (SVM). This paper also discusses various issues we have encountered during the prototype development, and presents our approaches for resolving them. A user evaluation of the prototype was carried out with positive responses from users.

Abstract:
Ideas and ideological attachments are a powerful motivating force over political activity. This thesis studies how a group of British Labour parliamentarians developed an ideological link to the Soviet Union and how this attachment acted as a prism through which they viewed the world. This led to an opposition to the Cold War to develop that was sympathetic to the objectives of the Soviet Union. This led pro-Sovietism to become an established, but minority, tradition of British socialism. This is explored through a study of the ideals and activities associated with these beliefs by focussing on individual MPs. Using MPs as case studies, and studying them within the context of a period of the Cold War, we are able to understand how their activism became reactive to international relations and how their ideas filtered into developing traditions within the party's left-wing. The thesis rejects the notion that those who engaged in pro-Soviet activism were agents of the Soviet Union and crypto-Communists and develops a framework within which these figures can be understood as principled socialists who shared the objectives of preventing an escalation of the Cold War and establishing a socialist future.

Abstract:
AbstractNational parks attract millions of tourists to enjoy the beauty of nature. The opinions and feelings expressed by tourists in their reviews through social media significantly impact other visitors’ tourism-related decisions. Notably, tourists from different countries visiting the same park may express different sentiments and post different experiences. It is not clear if those differences could be attributed to the differences in sentiment analysis software for different languages, or they reflect existing variability in culturally defined tourists’ sentiments. To address this question, this study analyzed 27,177 TripAdvisor Grand Canyon, US reviews from visitors arriving from ten different countries with the goal of identification of sentiment differences. We found that while all reviews tend to be positive, there are significant regional differences with European and Japanese tourists routinely expressing lesser satisfaction from their visit. We also found differences in the sentiment expressed in different regions of the same country, such as the north and south of Italy. Overall, we suggest that social media reflects the real differences in the sentiment of visitors coming from different origins.

Abstract:
Based on the aspect-level sentiment analysis is typical of fine-grained emotional classification that assigns sentiment polarity for each of the aspects in a review. For better handle the emotion classification task, this paper put forward a new model which apply Long Short-Term Memory network combine multiple attention with aspect context. Where multiple attention mechanism (i.e., location attention, content attention and class attention) refers to takes the factors of context location, content semantics and class balancing into consideration. Therefore, the proposed model can adaptively integrate location and semantic information between the aspect targets and their contexts into sentimental features, and overcome the model data variance introduced by the imbalanced training dataset. In addition, the aspect context is encoded on both sides of the aspect target, so as to enhance the ability of the model to capture semantic information. The Multi-Attention mechanism (MATT) and Aspect Context (AC) allow our model to perform better when facing reviews with more complicated structures. The result of this experiment indicate that the accuracy of the new model is up to 80.6% and 75.1% for two datasets in SemEval-2014 Task 4 respectively, While the accuracy of the data set on twitter 71.1%, and 81.6% for the Chinese automotive-domain dataset. Compared with some previous models for sentiment analysis, our model shows a higher accuracy.

Abstract:
Sentiment Analysis aims extract subjective information from texts that, when written in Portuguese face a number of difficulties related to grammatical nature and vocabulary diversity. In order to collaborate with researches in this area, this paper presents the proposal to evaluate the performance of the committee approach in relation to the traditional approaches of sentiment analysis in the Portuguese language context. As object of application we choose tweets about volleyball theme that will serve as basis for the approaches application. These texts will be treated using Natural Language Processing for better performance of the algorithms. Other approaches will also be used in this study to assist in the evaluation of the committee along with the aid of metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall and F-measure.

Abstract:
Video data is multimodal in its nature, where an utterance can involve linguistic, visual and acoustic information. Therefore, a key challenge for video sentiment analysis is how to combine different modalities for sentiment recognition effectively. The latest neural network approaches achieve state-of-the-art performance, but they neglect to a large degree of how humans understand and reason about sentiment states. By contrast, recent advances in quantum probabilistic neural models have achieved comparable performance to the state-of-the-art, yet with better transparency and increased level of interpretability. However, the existing quantum-inspired models treat quantum states as either a classical mixture or as a separable tensor product across modalities, without triggering their interactions in a way that they are correlated or non-separable (i.e., entangled). This means that the current models have not fully exploited the expressive power of quantum probabilities. To fill this gap, we propose a transparent quantum probabilistic neural model. The model induces different modalities to interact in such a way that they may not be separable, encoding crossmodal information in the form of non-classical correlations. Comprehensive evaluation on two benchmarking datasets for video sentiment analysis shows that the model achieves significant performance improvement. We also show that the degree of non-separability between modalities optimizes the post-hoc interpretability.
