Some of our moral commitments strike us as necessary, and this feature of moral phenomenology is sometimes viewed as incompatible with sentimentalism, since sentimentalism holds that our commitments depend, in some way, on sentiment. Why should I be moral? My thesis is dedicated to exploring how David Hume’s moral theory may answer this question. Zur Widerlegung der hobbesschen Ideen werden hunderte von Büchern geschrieben. Der den Staat im Bild eines biblischen Monsters erfassen wollte, gilt nun selbst als das Monster of Malmesbury.
