Building on Schiller’s reasoning, along with my own argument against solipsism (developed in a separate paper), I derive an absolute form of solipsism – solideism. Lastly, I offer observations on t

This separate-offset implementation allows for a Fourier (reasonably fast) wave-equation-type migration on data with irregular offset sampling. However, the separate-offset phase-shift migration, like its zero-offset counterpart, handles only vertically inhomogeneous media. Using the combination of the split-step and phase-shift-plus-interpolation (PSPI) approaches, the separate-offset phase-shift migration is extended to handle laterally inhomogeneous media. This article introduces a novel approach to higher dimensional spatial database design. Instead of extending the canonical Solid–Face–Edge–Vertex schema of topological data, these classes are replaced altogether by a common type SpatialEntity, and the individual “bounded-by” relations between two consecutive classes are replaced by one separate binary relation BoundedBy on SpatialEntity which defines a so-called Alexandrov topology on SpatialEntity and thus exposes mathematical principles of spatial data design. This has important consequences: First, a mathematical definition of topological “

The text critically examines translations of descriptions of Jangar’s Palace in the Kalmyk Jangar epic. The author presents their own interpretations, partially influenced by a 1991 lecture at the Mongolian National University, suggesting the palace is structured with ten layers of Mongolian tents or gers, resulting in nine insulating gaps, and is furnished with deer hide bags filled with dairy products suspended on its walls. This interpretation contrasts with other versions which separate these elements. While confident in their understanding, the author acknowledges not reviewing all multil

It has been established that only a third of magazines have digital versions in today’s Lithuania. The digitization of magazines is driven by the desire of publishers to give readers access to the magazine through a broader range of channels along with the a

September 11, 2001 brought to legal awareness an issue that has long puzzled metaphysicians. The general issue is that of event-identity, drawing the boundaries of events so that we can tell when there is one event and when there are two. The September 11th version of that issue is: how many occurrences of insured events were there on September 11, 2001 in New York? Was the collapse of the two World Trade Center Towers one event, despite the two separate airliners crashing into each tower? Or were these two separate insured events?

We present a new supervised learning procedure for systems composed of many separate networks, each of which learns to handle a subset of the complete set of training cases. The new procedure can be viewed either as a modular version of a multilayer supervised network, or as an associative version of competitive learning. It therefore provides a new link between these two apparently different approaches. We demonstrate that the learning procedure divides up a vowel discrimination task into appropriate subtasks, each of which can be solved by a very simple expert network.

Small bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA) is a rare malignancy of the gastrointestinal tract that has increased in incidence across recent years. Often diagnosed at an advanced stage, outcomes for SBA are worse on average than for other related malignancies, including colorectal cancer. Due to the rarity of this disease, few studies have been done to direct optimal treatment, although recent data have shown that SBA responds to treatment differently than colorectal cancer, necessitating a separate approach to treatment.
