The master thesis expresses the opinion on application of the Free Flight concept in European Airspace. In the beginning, the reason and the circumstances for concept application are characterized from both theoretical and practical approach. Afterwards, the key technology elements are defined as well as the ideal approach for developing them. Especially system ASAS was a subject of the deep investigation. Then the system ADS-B is introduced with all related issue from a performance point of view. Finally, the main factors affecting the capacity of the ASAS system in specific area of Airspace

Asadi, Shahmirzadi Arash. "Minor-minimal non-projective planar graphs with an internal 3-separation." Diss., Georgia Institute of Technology, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/1853/45914.

Abstract:
The property that a graph has an embedding in the projective plane is closed under taking minors. Thus by the well known Graph Minor theorem of Robertson and Seymour, there exists a finite list of minor-minimal graphs, call it L, such that a given graph G is projective planar if and only if G does not contain any graph isomorphic to a member of L as a minor. Glover, Huneke and Wang found 35 graphs in L, and Archdeacon proved that those are all the members of L, but Archdeacon's proof never appeared in any refereed journal. In this thesis we develop a modern approach and technique for finding t

Fletcher, Sean. "Thin film Palladium-Ytrium membranes for hydrogen separation." Thesis, University of Birmingham, 2010. http://etheses.bham.ac.uk//id/eprint/924/.

Abstract:
The permeability of hydrogen in thin film Pd-Y composite membranes has been investigated for the first time. Thin (5 µm) Pd-Y films were deposited onto macroporous 316L stainless steel substrates by magnetron sputtering. Prior to deposition, a novel laser melting technique was employed in an attempt to reduce the surface roughness and pore size, thus facilitating the deposition of defect-free films. The active hydrogen transport mechanisms of each layer have been determined and the observed hydrogen permeability was analysed using a series resistance type model. The porous substrate was found

Thesis (MTech (Chemical Engineering))--Cape Technikon, 2000.<br>Internationally, there is an increase in the need for safer environmental processes that can be applied to mining operations, especially on a small scale, where mercury amalgamation is the main process used for the recovery of free gold. An alternative, more environmentally acceptable, process called the Coal Gold Agglomeration (CGA) process has been investigated at the Cape Technikon. This paper explains the application of flotation as a means of separation for the CGA process. The CGA process is based on the recovery of h

Ahmed, Mohammad Afraz. "A Cahn-Hilliard approach to modelling phase separation in bimetallic nanoparticles." Thesis, University of Birmingham, 2015. http://etheses.bham.ac.uk//id/eprint/6284/.

Abstract:
A ternary system of Cahn-Hilliard equations is used to model phase separation processes in bimetallic nanoparticles. The third component in the ternary system is taken to be vacuum, such that we are able to simulate bimetallic nanoparticles without any need to impose restrictions on the nanoparticle boundary. Strain effects, due to lattice mismatch, are introduced by coupling with the Navier-Lamé equations. The use of this diffuse-interface approach allows the simulation of significantly larger systems than currently feasible with atomistic methods. Particular attention is paid to the core-she

Triboelectrostatic separation is a physical separation technique that is based on surface electronic property differences among minerals to achieve a separation. Minerals have different surface conductivities and electron affinities. They are charged differently in quantity and/or polarity after a tribocharging process. Particles with different surface charges move discretely under external electric field produce a separation. Electrostatic separation is a dry mineral processing method that does not require any water or chemical reagents. It can greatly simplify the processing circuit and redu
