Kırgızistan'ın Özkent şehri tarihî eserleriyle ünlüdür. Bu kentte Karahanlılar zamanında Şemsü'l Eimme olarak şöhret bulan meşhur fıkıh alimi Ebu Bekr Muhammed ibn-i Ebi Sehl es-Serahsî yaşamıştır ve muhtemelen 1096'da vefat etmiştir. Şehirde Serahsî'ye atfedilen bir mezar bulunmaktadır. Serahsî'nin mezar taşının Sovyetler zamanında Ruslar tarafından Petersburg'a götürülmüş olduğu da söylenmektedir.
