Full textJugoslavia is a country with great social and linguistic complexity, and intricate history. Literature has to be translated as a work of art, not as a source of information, and translating must first of all take into account the artistic structures of the works

Full textThis study deals with infinitive constructions in French governed by verbs of perception and causative verbs faire and laisser, as well as their translation into Serbo-Croatian (BCMS). It contains a historical review, a syntactic and semantic-logical analysis and a translation corpora analysis in both directions: from French to Serbo-Croatian (BCMS) and from Serbo-Croatian (BCMS) to French. The historical verifications confirm the deep-rootedness of the concerned constructions in French language from its origins, while syntactic and semantic-logical analysis allows a better understanding of problems of their translation into Serbo-Croatian (BCMS). The translation corpora analysis starts from a definition of problems faced by translators/interpreters due to the lack of equivalent structures in Serbo-Croatian (BCMS), in order to verify the main translation modalities and to emphasize their respective advantages and disadvantages, with the intention to assist future French language translators/interpreters and teachers in Montenegro in overcoming difficulties caused by these widespread syntactic structures

Full textWe analyse EU legal language, compare and contrast French characteristic structures with those of BCMS and examine problems related to the translation of EU legal texts into this language, formerly named Serbo-Croatian and today known by the initials of the names: Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Serbian. This research is based on an analytical approach to a parallel corpus consisting of four language versions (English, French, Croatian and Montenegrin) of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Montenegro, of the other part. This document is part of the EU’s international agreements which is a pillar of the Stabilisation and Association process, the framework for the integration of Western Balkan countries into the EU

Full textThe aim of this thesis is a description and a comparaison of slangs of the regions of Sarajevo and Paris. It implies at first a study of the slang penomenon, of its forms and its functions, a Bibliographic study, a description of the two slangs based on collected occurrences, an analysis and comparaison of the corpuses, of the universals and differences as well as a bilingual dictionary of the two slangs. In this analysis we can realise that these slangs use the same forms and, with some exceptions, in the same proportions. The french slang use more back slang and on the other side the bosnian slang is richer in old borrowings banished from the standard language. We tried to observe the similarities and the differencies and to explain them from the point of view of the linguistic imaginary by a correlation of social and cultural sterotypes present in the slang metaphores.
