Abstract:

Daun keji beling (Strobilanthes crispus) merupakan salah satu jenis tanaman yang secara empiris banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai pengobatan. Beberapa literatur menyebutkan nama latin daun keji beling sebagai Sericocalyx crispus L. Laporan hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) 2013, menunjukkan bahwa rata – rata prevalensi Diabetes Mellitus di masing – masing provinsi di Indonesia berdasarkan diagnosis dokter dari penduduk umur lebih dari 15 tahun pada tahun 2013 mencapai 1,5%, dan meningkat pada tahun 2018 mencapai 2%. Strobilanthes phengklaii Kladwong & Chantar., a new species from North-eastern Thailand, is described and illustrated. Strobilanthes paniculiformis J.R.I.Wood, S. phyllostachya Kurz and S. squalens S.Moore are new records in Thailand. A new species of Acanthaceae, Strobilanthes namkadingensis Soulad. & Tagane from Nam Kading National Protected Area, Bolikhamxay Province, central Laos, is described and illustrated. It is characterized by long spicate inflorescences consisting of 6-32 flowers, yellow corolla, the absence of long white hairs on the bracts and 4–6 seeds per capsule. Three DNA barcode regions of the partial genes for the large sub-unit ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase oxygenase (rbcL) and maturase K (matK) and internal transcribed spacers (ITS) are also provided.
