Abstract:
The transition of software development from web to cloud has been accelerated. The development of cloud services requires a modeling method that reflects the characteristics of cloud including personalized service, resource sharing service, grouped and distributed services, and cross-platform operability. This study aimed to suggest a method of developing UML-based cloud services suitable for the characteristics of cloud services. A cloud service metamodel was defined using cloud applications’ characteristic modeling elements, and after that, how these cloud modeling elements are expressed into UML modeling elements was defined with an integrated metamodel between cloud and UML. By applying this hierarchical cloud metamodel, an MDA and MVC-based service-oriented cloud modeling process was established. By doing so, it will be possible to easily design services (applications) and solutions that are suitable for cloud computing environments, and in particular, to create hierarchical reuse models by the level of the abstraction of model-driven development.

Abstract:
Today, cloud service has evolved as a network centric, service oriented computing model. Consumers purchase computational resources and network accesses on demand without worrying about the underlying technologies used. However, the concerns of security, reliability and service response availability are also increasing. Although cloud service providers usually committed to the availability scope of Service Level Agreement (SLA), most cloud tenants do not understand the inherent complexity. There is an apparent lack of ability to assess the risks when choosing cloud platform. From the perspective of the cloud computing service layer model, this paper defines and analyses a quantitative evaluation method of the availability of cloud service. And it proposes the concepts of availability unit (AU), availability set (AS), standalone availability (SA) and deployment availability (DA). Also discusses the algorithm relationships among all levels of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS on cloud computing service.

Abstract:
By leveraging cloud computing such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), the outsourcing of computing resources used to support operations, including servers, storage, and networking components, is quite beneficial for various providers of Internet application. With this increasing trend, resource allocation that both assures QoS via Service Level Agreement (SLA) and avoids overprovisioning in order to reduce cost becomes a crucial priority and challenge in the design and operation of complex service-based platforms such as streaming service. On the other hand, providers of IaaS also concern their profit performance and energy consumption while offering these virtualized resources. In this paper, considering both service-oriented and infrastructure-oriented criteria, we regard this resource allocation problem as Multicriteria Decision Making problem and propose an effective trade-off approach based on goal programming model. To validate its effectiveness, a cloud architecture for streaming application is addressed and extensive analysis is performed for related criteria. The results of numerical simulations show that the proposed approach strikes a balance between these conflicting criteria commendably and achieves high cost efficiency.

Abstract:
Cloud computing has recently received considerable attention, as a promising approach for delivering Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services as a utility. In the process of providing these services it is necessary to improve the utilization of data centre resources which are operating in most dynamic workload environments. Datacenters are integral parts of cloud computing. In the datacenter generally hundreds and thousands of virtual servers run at any instance of time, hosting many tasks and at the same time the cloud system keeps receiving the batches of task requests. It provides services and computing through the networks. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and agent frameworks renders tools for developing distributed and multi agent systems which can be used for the administration of cloud computing environments which supports the above characteristics. This paper presents a SOQM (Service Oriented QoS Assured and Multi Agent Cloud Computing) architecture which supports QoS assured cloud service provision and request. Biomedical and geospatial data on cloud can be analyzed through SOQM and has allowed the efficient management of the allocation of resources to the different system agents. It has proposed a finite heterogeneous multiple vm model which are dynamically allocated depending on the request from biomedical and geospatial stakeholders.

Abstract:
Cloud computing has provided services for users as a software paradigm. However, it is difficult to ensure privacy information security because of its opening, virtualization, and service outsourcing features. Therefore how to protect user privacy information has become a research focus. In this paper, firstly, we model service privacy policy and user privacy preference with description logic. Secondly, we use the pellet reasonor to verify the consistency and satisfiability, so as to detect the privacy conflict between services and user. Thirdly, we present the algorithm of detecting privacy conflict in the process of cloud service composition and prove the correctness and feasibility of this method by case study and experiment analysis. Our method can reduce the risk of user sensitive privacy information being illegally used and propagated by outsourcing services. In the meantime, the method avoids the exception in the process of service composition by the privacy conflict, and improves the trust degree of cloud service providers.

Abstract:
The emergence of service-oriented architectures has driven the shift towards a service-oriented paradigm, which has been adopted in several application domains. The advent of cloud computing facilities and recently of edge computing environments has increased the aforementioned paradigm shift towards service provisioning. In this context, various “traditional” critical infrastructure components have turned to services, being deployed and managed on top of cloud and edge computing infrastructures. However, the latter poses a specific challenge: the services of the critical infrastructures within and across application verticals/domains (e.g., transportation, health, industrial venues, etc.) need to be continuously available with near-zero downtime. In this context, this paper presents an approach for high-performance monitoring and failure detection of critical infrastructure services that are deployed in virtualized environments. The failure detection framework consists of distributed agents (i.e., monitoring services) to ensure timely collection of monitoring data, while it is enhanced with a voting algorithm to minimize the case of false positives. The goal of the proposed approach is to detect failures in datacenters that support critical infrastructures by targeting both the acquisition of monitoring data in a performant way and the minimization of false positives in terms of potential failure detection. The specific approach is the baseline towards decision making and triggering of actions in runtime to ensure service high availability, given that it provides the required data for decision making on time with high accuracy.

Abstract:
Over the decades, robotics technology has acquired sufficient advancement through the progression of 5G Internet, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud, and Edge Computing. Though nowadays, Cobot and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) supported robots with edge computing paradigms have achieved remarkable performances in diverse applications, the existing SOA robotics technology fails to develop a multi-domain expert with high performing robots and demands improvement to Service-Oriented Brain, SOB (including AI model, driving service application and metadata) enabling robot for deploying brain and a new computing model with more scalability and flexibility. In this paper, instead of focusing on SOA and Robot as a Service (RaaS) model, we propose a novel computing architecture, addressed as Brainware Computing, for driving multiple domain-specific brains one-at-a-time in a single hardware robot according to the service, addressed as Brain as a Service (BaaS). In Brainware Computing, each robot can install and remove the virtual machine, which contains SOB and operating applications from the nearest edge cloud. Secondly, we provide an extensive explanation of the scope and possibilities of Brainware Computing. Finally, we demonstrate several challenges and opportunities and then concluded with future research directions in the field of Brainware Computing.

Abstract:
Background: A large number of communities and enterprises deploy numerous scientific workflow applications on cloud service. Aims: The main aim of the cloud service provider is to execute the workflows with a minimal budget and makespan. Most of the existing techniques for budget and makespan are employed for the traditional platform of computing and are not applicable to cloud computing platforms with unique resource management methods and pricing strategies based on service. Methods: In this paper, we studied the joint optimization of cost and makespan of scheduling workflows in IaaS clouds, and proposed a novel workflow scheduling scheme. Also, data placement is included in the proposed algorithm. Results: In this scheme, DPO-HEFT (Data Placement Oriented HEFT) algorithm is developed which closely integrates the data placement mechanism with the list scheduling heuristic HEFT. Extensive experiments using the real-world and synthetic workflow demonstrate the efficacy of our scheme. Conclusion: Our scheme can achieve significantly better cost and makespan trade-off fronts with remarkably higher hypervolume and can run up to hundreds times faster than the state-of-the-art algorithms.

Abstract:
At present, the cloud computing with big data is known as a next-generation software service paradigm. However, the effective methods of software reliability analysis considering the big data and cloud computing have been only few presented. In particular, it is important to consider the optimal data partitioning in terms of cloud computing with big data. Considering the cloud computing with big data, it will be useful for the software managers to estimate the total software cost in order to make allocations the optimal data area to the cloud user. We propose the method of component-oriented reliability assessment based on neural network in order to the optimal data partitioning for cloud computing with big data in this paper. Moreover, we propose the method of system-wide reliability assessment based on the jump diffusion process model considering the big data on cloud computing. Furthermore, we propose the optimal maintenance problem based on the jump diffusion model. Considering the contract cost for the maximum number of subscriber as the cloud user, we find the optimum maintenance time by minimizing the total software cost.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper introduces cloud manufacturing (CMfg) as a new manufacturing paradigm that joins the emerging technologies – such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and service-oriented technologies – for solving complex problems in manufacturing applications and performing large-scale collaborative manufacturing. Using scientific publications indexed in Scopus database during the period 2012–2017, the concept and fundamentals of CMfg are presented and discussed given the results of the most recent research. While focusing on the current state of the art, the recent research trends within CMfg concept were also identified. The review involved the methods of bibliometric analysis and network analysis. A prototype of CMfg and the existing related work conducted by various researchers are presented, and the map of co-occurrence is introduced to indicate the most commonly occurring issues related to the “cloud manufacturing” term. The VOSviewer software was used for this purpose. Finally, cloud-based manufacturing areas for further research are identified.
