Abstract:
The paper examines the views of Internet users concerning the protection of their rights on the Internet. The Web survey, conducted by the snowball sampling, included 783 Internet users who expressed their views regarding the ways the state (Serbia) and private agents (Facebook and Google) relate to the right of freedom of expression and privacy on the Internet. Also, the survey was used to examine the individual responsibility of users when it comes to the use of Internet services. Several hypotheses suggested that Internet users in Serbia do not have confidence in the country and private actors on the issue of protecting their rights. However, users also do not demonstrate a satisfactory level of individual responsibility. The most important findings indicate that: 1) only one-sixth of the respondents consider that the Government of the Republic of Serbia does not violate the privacy of Internet users; 2) almost half of the respondents do not feel free to express their views criticizing the government; 3) almost 90% of users are not satisfied how Facebook protects their privacy, while it is 1% lower in the case of Google; 4) a third of respondents answered positively to the question whether they had read terms of use of the analyzed companies, but half of them did not give a correct answer to the main questions; 5) only 8.9% of respondents who claimed to have read terms of use are aware of the fact that Facebook shares their data with third parties.

Abstract:
Remarkable developments and innovation in the information and communication technology has led to significant paradigm shift in banking sector. Internet banking phenomenon has been widely accepted by the banks, as a convenient channel of service delivery owing to its multiple advantages. In spite of being beneficial to the users as well, the acceptance rate of this delivery channel is very slow among bank’s clients. In order to increase consumer internet banking, banks must take steps to leverage internet banking adoption among customers. Banks have to promote internet banking by segmenting their targeted customers and positioning them with suitable strategies. This study aims at segmenting the customers based on their usage of services and to identify the perceptions of consumer segments regarding the various attributes of online banking. Hierarchical cluster analysis, k-means cluster analysis was used to segment the respondents based on their usage of the internet banking service. The respondents were formed into three clusters viz, extensive users, moderate users and constrained users. A profile of each segment of user is made based on their demographic, psychographics and perception towards attributes of internet banking. Subject to their profile, usage patterns and their perception towards different attributes of internet banking, various recommendations were made to the service providers to formulate strategies targeting the specific type of users. This study would be facilitate the bankers to draft user focused strategies for increased usage of internet banking services.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine consumers’ perceptions and their behavioural intentions in selecting an internet broadband service in Malaysia by inspecting young users’ perceptions, in respect of the technical, functional and experience economy perspective. Design/methodology/approach – A survey methodology using questionnaires was adopted to solicit the required information from 400 existing, as well as potential users. Data were analysed through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling. Findings – The research shows that in selecting an operator's service both technical and functional qualities are highly mediated by young consumers’ perceptions in explaining their behavioural intentions. The paper also finds that the experience economy variable has a direct effect, which is more dominant on young consumers’ behavioural intentions than the indirect effect through perception, which implies a partial mediation. Research limitations/implications – The study focused on young users’ perceptions and the implicative behavioural intentions in selecting a broadband operator within the Klang Valley area in Malaysia. Thus, it may not be generalized to all young consumers’ around the world. Practical implications – This study identifies the perceived attributes of quality and experience economy as well as generalizing the young consumers’ buying intentions in selecting an internet broadband operator in Malaysia. Originality/value – This research contributes to the existing literature because the study of the behavioural aspects of young consumers is of great importance for marketers to identify the consumers’ ultimate choice in internet broadband selection in Malaysia.

Abstract:
E-commerce and e-business are necessary components of today’s internet banking due to the developing global economy. Alternatively, in this technological era, the banking sector’s success is associated with creating bank users’ intention to adopt internet banking services. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the influencing factors of intention to adopt internet banking services of commercial bank users’ in the Bangladeshi context. A survey questionnaire was formulated based on past works of literature to find out the research objective. The convenience sampling method has been used in this study. For the data collection purpose, 250 bank users were asked request to participate in the research. As a fully completed survey, 180 responses were received where the response rate was 72% and the sample size was n = 180. For correlation analysis and hypotheses testing, SPSS version 26.0 was used. The results of the study show that Perceived Security Risk (PSR), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Social Influence (SI), and Consumer Innovativeness (CI) have a statistical and significant impact on the intention to adopt internet banking services. It is concluded that the bank management committee should utilize PU, PEU, SI, and CI to amplify the level of willingness to adopt and embrace general banking services through internet platforms among bank users in their online banking transactions. For the future research study, this paper outlines several significant implications and offers some directions for the bank management committee of a commercial bank.

Abstract:
Web services that are free of charge to users typically offer access to online information based on some form of economic interest of the web service itself. Advertisers who put the information on the web will make a payment to the search services based on the clicks that their advertisements receive. Thus, end users cannot know that the results they obtain from web search engines are exhaustive, or that they actually respond to their needs. To fill the gap between user needs and the information presented to them on the web, Intelligent Search Assistants have been proposed to act at the interface between users and search engines to present data to users in a manner that reflects their actual needs or their observed or stated preferences. This paper presents an Intelligent Internet Search Assistant based on the Random Neural Network that tracks the user’s preferences and makes a selection on the output of one or more search engines using the preferences that it has learned. We also introduce a ‘relevance metric’ to compare the performance of our Intelligent Internet Search Assistant against a few search engines, showing that it provides better performance.

Abstract:
While mobile technologies have become pervasive, some consumers remain reluctant to accept, adopt and use them. Literature traditionally opposes the notions of ‘user' and ‘non-user' but recent developments show the boundary between these two concepts is very thin. The aim of this article is to review theoretical frameworks that are available for understanding such consumer attitudes and behaviours and to confront theoretical analysis with in-depth subjective investigation of a non-user, occasional user and heavy user, facing a set of different mobile media offers. The empirical analysis is conducted using Q-method. Results demonstrate similarities among users and non-users when considering their attitude towards different technologies, which opens opportunities for market consumer technologies to increase their penetration rate.

Abstract:
While it is well understood that the emerging Social Internet of Things offers the capability of effectively integrating and managing massive heterogeneous IoT objects, it also presents new challenges for suggesting useful objects with certain service for users due to complex relationships in Social Internet of Things, such as user’s object usage pattern and various social relationships among Social Internet of Things objects. In this study, we focus on the problem of service recommendation in Social Internet of Things, which is very important for many applications such as urban computing, smart cities, and health care. We propose a graph-based service recommendation framework by jointly considering social relationships of heterogeneous objects in Social Internet of Things and user’s preferences. More exactly, we learn user’s preference from his or her object usage events with a latent variable model. Then, we model users, objects, and their relationships with a knowledge graph and regard Social Internet of Things service recommendation as a knowledge graph completion problem, where the “like” property that connects users to services needs to be predicted. To demonstrate the utility of the proposed model, we have built a Social Internet of Things testbed to validate our approach and the experimental results demonstrate its feasibility and effectiveness.

Abstract:
Internet mobile users are concerned more and more about their privacy nowadays as both researches and real world incidents show that leaking of communication and location privacy can lead to serious consequence, and many research works have been done to anonymize individual user from aggregated location data. However, just the communication itself between the mobile users and their peers or website could collect considerable privacy of the mobile users, such as location history, to other parties. In this paper, we investigated the potential privacy risk of mobile Internet users and proposed a scalable system built on top of public cloud services that can hide mobile user’s network location and traffic from communication peers. This system creates a dynamic distributed proxy network for each mobile user to minimize performance overhead and operation cost.

Abstract:
Internet banking is a vital component of E-banking flourished rapidly in developed countries unlike developing countries. This paper provides recommendations for the banks offering internet services after examining the barriers in adoption of internet banking perceived by the active internet users living in non-metropolitan areas of Pakistan. Various, significantly perceived barriers identified by previous studies are presented after an extensive literature review in order to form a basis for developing questionnaire and comparing the findings. Data were collected from 520 customers of the banks offering internet services. The respondents selection criteria was being active internet user and living in non-metropolitan area of Pakistan. Findings show that the loss of personal service and one to one relationship with bankers, low perceived value of internet banking as compared to traditional banking and lack of knowledge, information are perceived to be the most significant barriers in adoption of internet banking among respondents. Unlike other studies lack of security, risk of hacking, fear of incomplete transactions and high financial risks are perceived to be moderately significant barriers. The study recommends that the banks should identify the information needs of the customers and establish the effective information channels to communicate the benefits and uses of internet banking services and develop long term relationship.

Abstract:
The Internet has come a long way over the past twenty years, and many Internet-era enterprises have had to face daunting challenges while trying to create innovative business models. Many types of Internet interactions can facilitate networking (e.g., The Web, Web services). Since the advent of the Internet, service requesters and service providers have generated diverse electronic services (e-services), and since 2003, many experts have proposed the concept of Web 2.0. People rely on Internet e-services to execute activities and meet requirements; however, e-services lack a standardization method for constructing and managing them. The current study presents a framework design and a comprehensive interface for e-service providers and requesters. The study adopts the concept of Web 2.0 by using Web services with related standards for developing the framework design. Specifically, the study uses semantic Web technologies to complete the construction of e-services. After that, Internet users can quickly and conveniently access the framework to obtain suitable e-services.

Abstract:
Recent surveys show that more than 65% of internet users in Nigeria are between 18 – 46 years old. However, evidence from previous research stressed that as opposed to generation X, generation Y are more likely to adopt new technologies. This paper examined the use of internet and internet banking by two different generations in the Nigeria context. Students and young graduates who occupy these ladders were used as subjects of the research. Two hundred and thirty students (generations X and Y) were sampled. Findings revealed that both generations within the Nigerian context are technologically inclined; however, certain factors serve as barriers to their adoption of internet banking services as opposed to their frequent use of the internet for other purposes. Risks, security and privacy, dearth of telecommunication infrastructures, and poor state of the Nigerian economy were found to be barriers within the data analyzed. This research contends that the Nigerian government and the financial institutions must address the barriers to make for a full adoption of internet banking services and proposes the relationship marketing of these generations, especially generation Y as potential users of the bank and its services.

In the light of the information technology revolution, the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT) is an important development that can enhance the efficiency of daily activities, such as increasing communication efficiency for users around the world. Within this context, few users realize the benefits of using IoT services. In general, most of the previous studies focused on technical aspects of the Internet of Things, such as architectural dimensions and wireless sensor networks, and the studies did not focus on examining the perceptions of IoT users. The aim of this study is to determine the factors that affect users' adoption of IoT services in an educational institution in Iraq. Random samples were used to collect data from 302 (faculty) at Northern Technical University. The UTAUT model was used with the addition of two factors (privacy, trust), as current research confirmed the importance of these two factors in the users' decision to adopt new technologies. The current study found that social influence is the most important factor regarding behavioral intention (BI) to use IoT services followed by expected effort, privacy and performance expectations. Facilitating conditions have an impact on the behavior of using IoT services. Finally, the study recommends decision makers in higher education institutions to use Internet of Things services and work to increase users' awareness of its benefits.

Digital map services and geographical information search services are widely available on the Internet. Users can retrieve appropriate geographical information from digital maps using certain map operations and category selection methods. However, it can be difficult for users to find specific geographical information when a map region contains a large amount of information. Furthermore, a user’s interest in a region or a category may change. Therefore, the authors propose a method for recommending geographical information to users based on their map operation or category selection history. The authors developed a model to determine a user’s interests and used it to recommend suitable regions and categories.

Abstract:
Abstract Background/Purpose: Maintaining a balance between security and a positive user experience in mobile and Internet banking is becoming increasingly difficult for the providers of banking services. The goal of our research is to analyse user opinions about the current situation: how users perceive security and how the authentication methods they are using affect user experience. Methodology: Data were collected using an online survey among the users of 15 banks operating in Slovenia, and statistical methods were applied to analyse them. Results of the users’ study were evaluated and commented by a limited number of interviewed banking security experts. Results: The results indicate that the use of mobile banking in Slovenia is relatively low, as only 30 percent of respondents use mobile banking along with Internet banking. Slovenian users perceive security to be the most important factor in mobile and online banking, closely followed by reliability. We also verified whether the users knew which authentication methods they were using: 69% of respondents selected the correct authentication method. The opinion of 88% of respondents was that authentication methods do not limit them when using mobile and Internet banking. Results of the study of user’s opinions did not surprise the experts, although experts’ views about the balance between security and usability diverged considerably. Conclusion: Our results indicate that, in Slovenia, users of the Internet and mobile banking services regard security to be the most important element in mobile or Internet banking and find user experience less important while they absolutely do want products that are easy to use.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the information needs and information-seeking patterns of users and non-users of the Internet among rural women in Tanzania. The study used mixed research sequential design, wherein the initial qualitative phase informed the design of the cross-sectional questionnaire surveys. The study was conducted in three rural districts in Tanzania that have telecentres: Sengerema, Kongwa and Kilosa districts. In 2014, the study conducted focus group discussions (FGDs): six FGDs with 37 Internet users, and six with 36 non-users. In 2015, questionnaire surveys were administered to 90 users and 90 non-users of Internet from telecenters. The findings showed that there were similarities in the major information needs and information seeking patterns of both users and non-users of Internet, although some variations were noted. Demographic characteristics related to education level, income and number of information sources played a key role in discriminating between Internet users and non-users. This study provides empirical findings for telecenters, libraries and other rural information providers to develop and offer relevant user-centered information services that are gender sensitive, to facilitate equitable access to relevant information for rational decision-making.

Abstract:
Purpose This study is exploratory in nature. The purpose of this paper is to examine the intention to use smartphones by mobile users for m-services in a growing market. In fact, it empirically studies the influence of ubiquity and immersion in the virtual context on the perceived value (utilitarian and hedonic) of the mobile user’s experience. Moreover, it is an academic embarkation upon the examination of the effect of perceived value on the intension of using smartphones by mobile users for the m-services. Finally, it tests the mediating role of the perceived (utilitarian and hedonic) value between ubiquity/immersion and the intention to use smartphones for m-services. Design/methodology/approach The data are collected from a sample of 300 Tunisian students and analyzed using the structural equation modeling technique. Findings The results show that ubiquity and immersion positively influence the value perceived by mobile internet users. They also confirm that the perceived (utilitarian and hedonic) value positively affects the intensity of smartphone usage by mobile internet users for m-services and show the mediating role of the perceived (utilitarian and hedonic) value between ubiquity/immersion and the intention to use smartphones for m-services. Practical implications Companies in place focus on the importance of smartphone shopping by communicating about the comparative advantages of this type of purchase to make this option a possible choice in the future. The immersive dimension in the virtual context of commerce can be exploited as a factor of differentiation, at a time when commercial trafficking is intensifying; for example, immersive merchant sites, to enrich their particular utilitarian value with an equally hedonic value. The hedonic and utilitarian dimensions of the perceived value constitute a mediator and an important lever for the distributors within the framework of the m-commerce. Due to a genuine consideration of the availability and the possibility to carry out the service at any time and any place in view of the fact that it is perceived as being useful and compatible with the needs and way of life of the individuals’ intention, the use of smartphones for the m-served is explained by the lived values which are in turn explained by the ubiquity. Originality/value Despite the massive adoption of information and communication technology, especially the internet, in distribution and service delivery, very little research has focused on the intensity of use of smartphones by mobile internet users for m-services. This exploratory study is the first to test the effect of ubiquity and immersion in the virtual context on the perceived (utilitarian and hedonic) value of the mobile internet users’ experience as well as the effect of the perceived value on the intensity of use of smartphones by mobile internet users for m-services in the Tunisian context. Moreover, it puts under scrutiny the mediating effect of the perceived value in the determination of the intention to use smartphones by mobile users for the m-services in the Tunisian context.

Abstract:
In Internet-of-Media-Things (IoMT) environments, users can access and view high-quality Over-the-Top (OTT) media services anytime and anywhere. As the number of OTT platform users has increased, the original content offered by such OTT platforms has become very popular, further increasing the number of users. Therefore, effective resource-management technology is an essential aspect for reducing service-operation costs by minimizing unused resources while securing the resources necessary to provide media services in a timely manner when the user’s resource-demand rates change rapidly. However, previous studies have investigated efficient cloud-resource allocation without considering the number of users after the release of popular content. This paper proposes a technology for predicting and allocating cloud resources in the form of a Long-Short-Term-Memory (LSTM)-based reinforcement-learning method that provides information for OTT service providers about whether users are willing to watch popular content using the Korean Bidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformer (KoBERT). Results of simulating the proposed technology verified that efficient resource allocation can be achieved by maintaining service quality while reducing cloud-resource waste depending on whether content popularity is disclosed.

To meet the need of the computational power, most of the users may go for a cloud based services for its scalability, flexibility and reliability. Cloud services have become an integral part of IT and analytical enterprises. Owing to increase in necessity of commercial cloud products being readily available, it has become extremely difficult for users to identify suitable cloud services. This paper proposes the recommender system precisely designed for the discovery of cloud services. Though there is an exponential increase in demand for cloud services, the amount of research done in this particular field is abysmal. Cloud Service Identification System (CSIS) crawls through Internet, identifies cloud services and stores them in a database. The user’s search query is processed and recommends cloud services accurately.

Abstract The space inside a vehicle, which people can enjoy while travelling, is becoming more intelligent due to the technological developments within the automotive industry. This has influenced the increase in new services that are intended to fulfil the needs of vehicle users. This article presents a survey on the provisioning of ubiquitous intelligent services for vehicular users. It also identifies clusters of research interest on this subject. To this end, an evaluation of results from six scientific research databases supports these goals. This process initially identified 37 328 publications; after filtering and clustering, the scope of analysis became 39 articles. The main contributions points to (i) the existence of five active research clusters, as a result of the inclusion of a visual clustering step in the systematic mapping protocol; (ii) an indication of a string of studies starting in the late ’90s from traffic issues, intelligent transport systems and profiling, to smart cities, the Internet of Things, big data, fog computing and internet of vehicles in recent years; and (iii) that the main challenges associated with the implementation of ubiquitous intelligent services for vehicular users are related to data security, infrastructure, connectivity and high mobility.

Abstract:
This paper discusses location-based service for telecom providers. Most of the location-based services in the mobile networks are introduced and deployed by Internet companies. It leaves for telecom just the role of the data channel. Telecom providers should use their competitive advantages and offer own solutions. In our article, we discuss the sharing location information via geo messages. Geo messages let mobile users share location information as signatures to the standard messages (e.g., email, SMS). Rather than let some service constantly monitor (poll) the user’s location (as the most standalone services do) or share location info within any social circle (social network check-in, etc.) The Geo Messages approach lets users share location data on the peer to peer basis. Users can share own location info with any existing messaging systems. And messaging (e.g., SMS) is the traditional service for telecom.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to assess the digital divide that exists between the general public and (active) Internet users in their support for the digitalization of public services (E-Government). In conducting this study, the SKODA AUTO University Research Team gathered data from 1,613 respondents – 611 respondents who are active Internet users (using computer-assisted web interviews) and 1,002 respondents from the general public (using pen-and-paper or computer-assisted personal interviews). Results have indicated that the divide exists, although it does not pose as considerable a challenge to the current E-Governance as is often assumed. Based on the current divide, improved ICT skills and higher Internet usage among citizens could increase overall support for the digitalization of public services by up to 20 percentage points. Data results also identified two societal segments, namely, respondents from 1) the age category 60+ years and 2) ‘Below-average income’ respondents, as particularly vulnerable and marginalized.

AbstractThe expansion of Internet has led to a variety of directly accessible devices and services. Nowadays, companies tend to increase the number of Internetfacing services in order to ensure higher visibility, and accessibility towards end-users. Nonetheless, this profound expansion towards an “Internet of Things” brings new opportunities to malicious actors. As a result, novel cyber-physical attacks bring new challenges to systems administrators in order to accommodate traditional user requests with security prerequisites. Therefore, in this paper we propose a novel approach for historical Internet connectivity assessment of services. The technique uses the output of the popular Shodan search engine to infer the lifetime of different Internet-facing services. Experimental results conducted on IP address blocks attributed to six different institutions distributed across four sectors (university, telecommunications, banking, and power) show different possible service lifetime patterns.

Abstract:
This article explains why modern Internet television is one of the leading sources of information at a time when people are restricted from moving freely as a result of the pandemic. It has been shown that users who have switched to remote work opt for multi-screen formats to receive modern services – on smartphones, tablets, PCs, TVs, and other devices. End-users’ demand for television content and streaming services has increased considerably. This has led to growth in telecommunication services and Internet traffic. For this reason, it’s necessary to develop approaches to further the evolution of modern Internet television. This is something that has to be based on social and ethical marketing. A marketing study of television users has identified the main consumers and their needs, as well as prospects for the growth in demand for Internet television services. A criterion and factor analysis was done to evaluate the preconditions for the use of social and ethical marketing tools for the development of Internet television. It determined that the social factor is what mainly caused the development of said services. We explained the main advantages of introducing social and ethical marketing, meeting society’s needs for modern services, and ensuring businesses’ profitability during crises. The main types of consequences that can arise from these processes at different levels of economic activity are summarized. A number of promising areas for further development of Internet television have been described, among which the most important is the development of streaming services and multi-screen technologies. Approaches for providing financial support for developing Internet television through the introduction of public-private partnership tools (for large enterprises), crowdfunding, and other digital financial platforms – for small and medium-sized companies are proposed.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack harms the digital availability in Internet. The user’s perspective of getting quick and effective services may be badly hit by the DDoS attackers. There are several reports of DDoS attack incidences that have caused devastating effects on the user and web services in the Internet world. In the present digital world dominated by wireless, mobile and IoT devices, the numbers of users are increasing day by day. Most of the users are novice and therefore their devices either fell prey to DDoS attacks or unknowingly add themselves to the DDoS attack Army. We soon will witness the 5G mobile revolution but there are reports that 5G networks are also falling prey to DDoS attacks and hence, the realization of DoS attack as a threat needs to be understood. The paper targets to assess the DDoS attack threat. It identifies the impact of attack and also reviews existing Indian laws.

Abstract:
Internet-based health information may be particularly beneficial for older adults as this segment of the population is likely to need healthcare information and services and often experiences problems accessing needed services and care. In order to effectively design e-health tools for seniors it is important to understand their health information needs and factors that enhance or impede their ability to use the Internet. Another important issue is to determine if in fact health information needs are satisfied to a greater extent between Internet users and non-users. This study explored these issues using six focus groups comprised of 35 adults aged 50+ ( M = 69.71 years) with varying levels of Internet-based health information-seeking experience. Results indicated that the adults who used the Internet were quite satisfied with finding information from this source; however non-users were also quite satisfied with the more traditional sources that they rely on for health information.
