Full textThe territory of Armenia was located in the collision zone between Arabia and Eurasia, and is the seat of active intercontinental deformations, which was attested by the many historical earthquakes that have occurred in this region. All these destructive earthquakes show a strong regional seismic activity, and therefore it is important to evaluate the seismic hazard associated with active structures that generates this seismicity.This study presents the results of the analysis of the active tectonics within the northwestern and southeastern extensions of the Pambak-Sevan-Syunik fault (PSSF), a major right-lateral strike-slip fault cutting through Armenia (NW - SE). Quantifying the deformations in terms of geometry, kinematics, slip rates and earthquake activity, using cosmogenic 3He, OSL/IRSL and radiocarbon dating techniques, reveal different behaviors between the two regions.Within the northwestern extension, in the region of Amassia, the PSSF bends to the west and splits into two main WNW-ESE trending reverse faults defining a compressional pop-up structure. We estimate an uplift rate and a shortening rate of 0.5 ± 0.1 mm/y and 1.4 ± 0.6 mm/y, respectively. This suggests that most of the ~2 mm/y right lateral movement of the PSSF seems to be absorbed within the Amasia pop-structure.Within the southeastern extension, in the region of Tsghuk volcano, the PSSF shows signs of dying out at the southernmost tip of the Syunik graben. A very slow NS trending normal faulting associated with a slight right-lateral movement characterizes the tectonic activity in the region of Tsghuk volcano. We estimate vertical slip rates, EW stretching rate, and right-lateral slip rate of ~0.2 mm/y, ~0.1 mm/y and ~0.05 mm/y, respectively. These results lead to the conclusion that the right lateral movement observed further north along the PSSF is mainly transferred within other active faults further west within the Karabagh (Hagari fault or other structures further northwestwards)

The House of the Seven Gables is the name given to a house in Salem, MA, constructed in 1668, that now, arguably, has seven gables. It would seem logical to assume that the book written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1851, titled with the same name, would be about this house. However, the timeline of these namings is backwards, and the writer strictly denied the relation, instead likening the house of the story to a "castle in the air": a haunted, fantastical construction and metaphorical container for the moments of crisis when history repeats itself. The setting for a ghost story. In other words, it shouldn't be read into as a real thing. Of course, this denial can't be taken too literally. The property on Turner Street was indeed once owned by a cousin of Hawthorne's, and his time spent playing cards with her in the parlor is well documented. As it stands, the house in Salem is a historic landmark, revered both as a figment of literary mythology, and as one of the oldest and largest intact examples of colonial architecture in the former Massachusetts Bay Colony. As such, it stands obliquely for over 350 years of American history and national identity, both in its physicality and in Hawthorne's portrayal. Through the practice of close reading, this thesis designs a set of ways of apprehending the house as a living document, which like a text, can be read to hold a multiplicity of associated social and political meanings in its constructive details, its structural syntax, its contents and their stylings, and its siting. The method is in the repetitive act of representation in order to depict the house 'for what it is' by reenacting its intimations. Seven chapters, each refocusing the lens through which the house is imaged, set out to make visible the intersecting narratives latent in its architecture. My aim is not to resolve complexities, redundancies, or the stubbornness of the present architectural articulation, rather to elucidate their sources and implications: the vestigial ghosts of an alternate set of hauntings.

Under this concept was born "Seven Seeds Nuggets", 100% natural nuggets based on 7 seeds, made with premium ingredients from our country, such as quinoa, kiwicha, cañihua, oats, black maca, chia and linseed, this product follows a process artisanal, being an option of snacks to be shared with other foods. Tradition and pride in our country is what our product represents, thanks to its wide variety of inputs and ideal texture, which make it a healthy and fresh option. To achieve all the aforementioned, we have developed an analysis, where the Marketing Plan, Operations Plan, Human Resources Plan, Social Responsibility Plan and Financial Plan are executed for the correct evaluation of the company and the viability of the project.

This present paper intends to works with studies about perversion, including the conception of deviant sexuality, from Middle age, to the structuralist studies proposed by Jacques Lacan, verifying in the movie Seven, by David Fincher, the possibility of interpreting that John Doe s acts are characteristics of perversion. Our object is to demonstrate how the serial killer s actions in the movie Seven can reveal movements of the unconscious that follow a motivation/manipulation of desire. To accomplish our goal, we will resort to three lines of theoretical discussion: 1) the perversion under the vision of fetishization (objectification of the sexual desire), the brain degeneration, the substitution of the desire and psychological structure (Cf. ROUDINESCO, 2008; BINET 1904 [1879]; KRAFFT-EBING (apud ROUDINESCO, 2008); FREUD, 1989 [1905]; LACAN, 1988 [1956] and 1999 [1958]);2) the seven capital sins as a way of maintenance and reintegration of the power of the church (Cf. DELUMEAU, 2003; LE GOFF, 2011; AQUINO, 2000); 3) the filmic adaptation through the prism of transtextuality (Cf. STAM, 2006; ANDREW, 1984; HUTCHEON, 2011). We analyze the film Seven seeking to infer from the crimes committed by the murderer John Doe, the movements of the unconscious that reveal the diviation of the desire to objectification of the victims. We realize that the diviation of the sexual objects can be seen both from the point of view of the religious inversion such as psychoanalysis. For our analysis, we will show the verbal and visual texts of the murders presented by the film, then, we propose the analysis of the sequence of crimes based on two types of perversion: voyeuristic (pleasure to look at the other) and sadism (pleasure to overpower the other). We observed in our research the intrinsic relationship between voyeur and sadistic acts and religious motivation witch can determine the crimes by the purification of the capital sins. Thereby, with the possibility of reading the film Seven as an adaptation based on source texts that deal with themes such as sin and transgression of the law, we saw that the construction of the film reveals us a (re) reading of the texts about capital sins and clinical work with perversion patients.
A presente dissertação trabalha com os estudos acerca da perversão, desde o conceito de sexualidade desviante, visto na Idade Média, até os estudos estruturalistas, propostos por Jacques Lacan, verificando no filme Seven, de David Fincher, a possibilidade de uma leitura dos atos do personagem John Doe como característicos da perversão. Objetivamos demonstrar de que modo as ações do assassino em série do filme Seven podem revelar movimentos do inconsciente que seguem uma motivação/manipulação do desejo. Para atingirmos nosso objetivo, iremos recorrer a três linhas de discussão teórica, a saber: 1) a perversão sob as óticas da fetichização (objetificação do desejo sexual), da degeneração cerebral, da substituição do desejo e da estrutura psíquica (Cf. ROUDINESCO, 2008; BINET, 1904 [1879]; KRAFFT-EBING (apud ROUDINESCO, 2008); FREUD, 1989 [1905]; LACAN, 1988 [1956] e 1999 [1958]); 2) os sete pecados capitais como forma de manutenção e reintegração do poder da Igreja (Cf. DELUMEAU, 2003; LE GOFF, 2011; AQUINO, 2000); 3) a adaptação fílmica pelo prisma da transtextualidade (Cf. STAM, 2006; ANDREW, 1984; HUTCHEON, 2011). Analisamos o filme Seven, buscando inferir dos crimes cometidos pelo assassino (sujeito), John Doe, os movimentos do inconsciente que revelem o desvio do desejo para objetificação, ou coisificação, das vítimas. Percebemos que esses desvios do objeto sexual podem ser vistos tanto do ponto de vista da inversão religiosa, como do ponto de vista da psicanálise. Para nossa análise, iremos nos ater ao texto verbal e visual das cenas dos assassinatos apresentados pelo filme, e, em seguida, propomo-nos a analisar a sequência de crimes com base em dois tipos de perversão: voyeur (prazer na fixação em olhar o outro) e sádico (prazer em subjulgar e humilhar o outro). Verificamos em nossa pesquisa a relação intrínseca existente entre os atos voyeur e sádicos com a motivação religiosa que condiciona os crimes por meio da purificação dos pecados capitais. Assim, com a possibilidade da leitura do filme Seven como uma adaptação baseada em textos-fonte que tratam da temática do pecado e da transgressão da lei, observamos que a construção do filme (em especial da movimentação criminosa de John Doe) nos revela uma (re)leitura dos textos sobre os pecados capitais e sobre a clínica perversa.

Full text“Seven Original Compositions for Jazz Combo” is a project inspired by the compositional and improvisational work of seven famous jazz trumpeters. These diverse players include Tom Harrell, Roy Hargrove, Kenny Dorham, Chet Baker, Lee Morgan, Miles Davis, and Scott Wendholt. Each musician influenced my compositions in various ways; I imitated the harmonic language of Tom Harrell and Kenny Dorham in my compositions “Lighthouse Reverie” and “Bog Walking” respectively, and the lyricism of Chet Baker in “I Kissed You Goodbye.” Roy Hargrove’s approach to melody provided the main influence for my 18-bar tune “The Shaft House,” while Miles Davis’s treatment of the blues form influenced “The Dawn Approaches Like Tears.” The elements of harp bop found in Lee Morgan’s music inspired my piece “Lil’B Jr.,” and Scott Wendholt’s flowing, wavelike lines shaped the melody of “The Homp Romp.” The instrumentation for each composition includes trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass, and drums, with voice on one tune. In addition to the compositions a recording and musical analysis accompany each piece. I presented a lecture recital on June 1, 2015 in Ball State University’s Choral Hall, at which I explained and demonstrated each trumpeter’s influence on my music.

Full textThis Digital Portfolio Dissertation presents seven compositions including text documents that explain the synthesis techniques, data mapping and routing, visual elements, the software used, all software needed to reproduce these works, and a video recording of all seven compositions. The unifying thread in my seven works is magic. The sense of magic in a live performance is the connection between artist and audience that lies beyond the immediate understanding of any work. I use this insight to create a new world inspired by sound and visuals. I perform each of these works by combining my understanding of data-driven instruments and my experience as a classically trained musician. The combination of sound design, visual composition, and a sense of magic allows me to realize these seven works. My goal is to contribute to the extensive library of electroacoustic works through my performance of my music with data-driven instruments.

These levels of actuality are to be found throughout the dramatic works in stage directions, verbal communication of trifling everyday dialogues, absence of standard psychological approach, but characters endowed with minimal probability, absence of standard plots but development of basic situations, stylization of history, didactic features, melodrama, comedy and language. 2 aspects and final meanings of fancy and dream-like scenes their evolution play after play. Fancy is to be found already in the dublin trilogy but so to speak negatively. The silver tassie appears as a break, with fancy and dream sweeping through to express the dramatist's progressive views and convey his visions of a "socialistic" new jerusalem, aesthetically, socially and politically glorious. The evolution just mentioned leads to an increasingly clear embodiment of the author's dream in mythical creatures and, towards the end, oddly enough, to an intimation of god. Merriment and celebration is also part of o'casey's revolutionary fancy. 3 revolutionary modes : the inmost specificity of o'casey's plays is studied under the following headings :. Theatre of discomfort (abrupt changes of tone, perpetual questioning of things. . ). Theatre of demonstration, provocation, agitation, unrest (characters as agitators, survey of performances of plays and their critical reception). Theatre of cultural aesthetic revolution (blending of art and life ; use of song, dance and lyricism to mean beauty and to try and convey it ; the militant and or poet as character ; revolutionary value of beauty). Naive surrealism ; in particular a parallel with magritte's paintings
