Abstract:
“Automation of Assigning Managed Metadata for GNOSIS Search Optimization” is a project developed to address inefficiencies in document classification within GNOSIS, an enterprise document management system built on Microsoft SharePoint. Manual metadata tagging is time-consuming, error-prone, and leads to inconsistent data, which negatively impacts searchability and content organization. This project proposes an automated solution using C# scripting and the Microsoft Graph API to seamlessly interact with SharePoint Online. The system leverages the Managed Term Store to access a predefined taxonomy. Based on document names or content logic, relevant metadata tags are applied automatically. Development was carried out in Visual Studio Code, using the .NET framework for building a lightweight, scalable, and maintainable solution. The Microsoft Graph API enables secure access to SharePoint document libraries, allowing the script to retrieve file properties and assign metadata programmatically. This automation improves document discoverability, ensures consistent tagging, enhances collaboration, and reduces manual workload. The project highlights how modern development tools and APIs can be effectively utilized to optimize metadata management in enterprise environments. Keywords- Managed Metadata, Gnosis Platform, Metadata Tagging, C# Scripting, Search Optimization, Microsoft 365 Integration, SharePoint Content Types, Automated Tagging Systems, Visual Studio Code (VS Code)

Abstract:
Abstract On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic. Hospitals throughout the USA and the residency programs housed therein have drastically altered their standard operations to slow the spread of disease. Maintaining the educational mission of a residency program within the parameters of social distancing mandates is an unprecedented challenge to graduate medical education and will remain so for the near future. We evaluated resident perception of our efforts to transition educational activities within the residency to an online, remote format utilizing Microsoft SharePoint. Educational conferences were transitioned to a videoconferencing platform on March 13, 2020 in conjunction with the deployment of an intradepartmental Microsoft SharePoint site to provide educational resources, disseminate scheduling changes, and provide wellness resources in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. An 11-question survey available from 4 Jan 2020–4 Jun 2020 surveyed resident perceptions of the instituted changes. Twenty-six of 31 residents (83.8%) responded to the resident survey invitation. Twenty-four of 26 residents (92.3%) characterized the SharePoint as useful. Twenty of 26 residents (76.9%) desired attending guidance as to how to utilize the online resources for each resident rotation. A total of 92.3% (24/26) of residents felt that the program’s response utilizing SharePoint engendered a greater sense of belonging to their work community. Resident perception of the transition to online learning utilizing Microsoft SharePoint as a distribution platform was generally positive, helping to mitigate untoward educational consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract:
This project is about apps in Microsoft Sharepoint 2013. Abstract:
This report is about intranets and SharePoint. It explains how user’s expectations can affect an implementation of an intranet and what companies want to get out of an intranet. It’s also about risks that may occur when an intranet is developed and how to avoid these problems. SharePoint is a collaborative platform and publishing system from Microsoft that assists developers in the implementation of an intranet. The report covers a project that was intended to showcase the strengths of SharePoint by developing a simple and user-friendly SharePoint prototype and provides insight into the planning, development and design of a SharePoint implementation. Tools used in the project were SharePoint Designer, CSS, HTML, jQuery, Gimp and Inkscape. The project resulted in a prototype developed in SharePoint Online 2013 for a fictitious mid-sized construction company and includes features for collaboration, information distribution and file sharing. The design consists of two menus and a color theme that includes different shades of gray. The width of the SharePoint page is locked to 1280 pixels and works with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. The prototype also includes jQuery scripts that modify elements on the page.<br>Denna rapport handlar om intranät och om SharePoint.

Abstract:
The products should be robust and without errors, which partially can be accomplished by testing during the development process. The requirement for an early delivery and a high quality does not always come hand in hand, but with the increased use of agile software development methods, this can be achieved. During agile development of software, there is a continuous process to ensure the quality of what is being developed, both to make sure that all the functional requirements are fulfilled, but also that the code behind is robust and dependable for the future. Since manual testing can be both time and resource consuming, automated testing has become a modern alternative to increase productivity and to maintain a sustainable development process. The goal of this thesis work has been to investigate the possibilities of implementing a solution for automated UI testing in an already existing development process at the company Precio Systemutveckling AB. The work has been conducted in three steps, starting with a literature study about testing in general, followed by an extensive research into suitable tools and technology for testing that exists today. After this, a deeper look was made at what the recommended solutions for implementing automated testing in a Microsoft-oriented enviroment were. The work was concluded with an actual implementation of automated testing on premise at Precio.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Developing a Microsoft SharePoint-based site is, according to marketing, simple and efficient. Efficiency is increased by giving the developer the option to easily add functionality to the site. One way to add functionality is through so called add-ins. An add-in extends the functionality of the site by running independent code on the client, cloud or a server outside the SharePoint farm. Add-ins can be added to the site through a web-based market or by creating new ones. The general question is if creation of new add-ins is worth the effort. This discussion can begin by investigating what implementation detail is reoccurring when developing this add-ins as well as what part of the process the most time is consuming. By attempting to create add-ins and the same time documenting the progress one can make conclusion regarding said questions. The result shows that the most recurring parts of development is how to manage the incoming data. It also seems as if the most time consuming part of add-in development is the research and construction of functionality that fetch data from the SharePoint-based site. Another part of the result is technical and contains information necessary to understand how the example add-ins are created. The add- ins that is presented in this paper concern document management which is a significant aspect of Microsoft SharePoint.

Abstract:
The goal for this thesis work was to develop Business Intelligence (BI) for an IT consultant company. LexiConsult is an IT consultant company in the Lexicon-group which offers expertise within Office (templates, database, spreadsheets, Outlook etc.) but also SharePoint development and services like support, documentation etcetera. We have investigated the functionality in SharePoint and MS SQL Server and have also evaluated which possibilities these platforms offer in terms of creating a BI-solution for LexiConsults needs. SharePoint offers a variety of different tools and services for BI but none of these where available in the Office365-version which LexiConsult uses. Another solution was therefore suggested where the reports should be published on a web hosting company. We have also studied critical success factors when implementing BI in an IT consulting company. The result is a set of BI-reports developed for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), which the staff of LexiConsult can access via their SharePoint site. The reports are designed for monitoring and analysis of the economy with e.g. key performance indicators, drill-down of the revenue in different aspects such as by time period, per employee, per customer etcetera. The reports provides vital knowledge that can be used for decision support, e.g. which customers and which types of projects is the most profitable and should be given priority. Have the consultants had high occupancy rate lately and what is the forecast for the future? Should more consultants be hired? Some of the reports are restricted from access by others than management of the company, and some are accessible by all employees. Data is queried from the SQL-database to the company’s system for booking and invoicing as well as their SharePoint site. This data is transformed to information which should give knowledge about the company and its finances. The result of the thesis work is of interest both within the company and as a product targeting their customers.<br>Målet med detta examensarbete var att utveckla Business Intelligence (BI) för ett IT-konsultföretag.

Abstract:
Under projektet blev också en annan vidareutveckling av programmet funnen, som visar stor potential och som bör tittas närmare på.<br>SharePoint is a large content and management system that is used by a vast number of businesses. Templates can be specified for different types of documents (called content types), which simplifies the creating of new documents for the end user. However, the system by which this is done today quickly becomes cumbersome and unmanageable when the number of templates that a business uses increases. In this thesis a solution to the problem is examined which is available on the Microsoft Codeplex site, a site for hosting open source projects. During the project the solution was examined in greater detail, and further developed into a prototype that HOW Solutions could use in future projects. The final result was a prototype that builds on the earlier solution which allows the user to specify a template hub, which is a site collection with libraries that supplies other libraries with templates. During the project another solution, which builds on the same solution, was found. It shows great promise and requires further investigation.

Abstract:
Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions have adopted an online collaboration system to coordinate information sharing and dissemination among hundreds of people from numerous organizations and across multiple countries, including universities, competition organizers, and sponsors involved in the competitions. Microsoft SharePoint is a collection of software elements that includes web browser based collaboration functions, process management modules, search modules and a document-management platform that serves as the foundation for this online collaboration system. SharePoint is used to host a secure web site that accesses shared workspaces, information stores and documents, as well as threaded discussion forums. Users can manipulate controls called “web parts” or interact with pieces of content such as lists and document libraries. The overall team-based engineering education strategy is facilitated throughout the three year EcoCAR program by a two way flow of information between the teams and organizers. Safety and design rules are updated and posted for teams to access. Each team has their own secure document library area for posting required progress reports, design reports, safety documentation, and technical report deliverables that are scored as part of the competition. Scoring results with comments are returned to each team under the team specific site. Proprietary vehicle and component data are also made available, and can be restricted to only those teams that have approved non disclosure agreements with the sponsor. Specific subject and component-based forums are used for asynchronous, threaded exchange of information and questions to subject matter experts. Issues and solutions discovered by students are shared among all teams. The SharePoint Online Collaboration system has significantly improved the information-sharing, evaluation and communications capabilities of the Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions across a vast audience. This has enabled us to significantly enhance the technical scope of the program and improve the educational value to the university participants.

Abstract:
Abstract Over the last five years, the oil market has experienced its most significant downturn since 1990s which resulted in the greatest immediate impact on the exploration and development drilling segment of the industry. With the objective to counter the influence of this potentially long period of downturn in global oil price, oil &amp; gas operators have opted for different approaches to secure their future recovery and growth. The digital transformation across their drilling and completion activities could be a solution which helps to improve the drilling efficiency, shorten the well time, and cut down the well cost to the tolerable investment. In addition to that, the need of switching to a digital environment has recently became an urgent requirement, especially when everywhere in the world applies the social distancing and work from home concept during Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, establishing a digital workplace has set an approach in a way drilling and completion teams handling internal and external communications, collaborations and content management to support drilling and completion activities. In order to understand more in depth, this paper, as a part of the digital transformation project carried out by Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (PQPOC), the Operator of Block B Gas Development Project (Blocks B&amp;48/95 and 52/97) located offshore of the South West of Vietnam, will make clear how to build a digital workplace on SharePoint, what features should be included in this platform, and how it can support drilling and completion activities.
