Abstract:
This thesis is focused on the design of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 in a selected company. The main objective of this thesis is to identify the needs and requirements of the selected company and then propose a suitable intranet solution built on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013. These objectives were achieved by deep analysis of various sources, as well as through consultations with experts, and also from practical experience of the author, acquired in Al-gotech Corporation. The main contribution of this thesis is creating a comprehensive summary of the issue and develop an appropriate solution design for a specific organisation. In this thesis, the author initially focuses on the concept of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), in the next section the author will analyse available tools on the market. In the final stage, the author will analyse specific requirements of the company, based on which he will create the recommendation for the optimal solution.

Abstract:
As mobile devices become more common when surfing the web there is an increasing demand of making web sites adjusted to other devices than computers. One common platform on the web is Microsoft SharePoint. In this report I look into one method of how to develop web sites that work on multiple devices in Microsoft SharePoint. I will be looking into different techniques as separate web sites compared to responsive web design. By exploring the approach of mobile first I try to find a working solution of techniques. I also look into another method that is suggested in a book and look into how Bootstrap could be used in the process. I will also look into content to identify what content need to be adjusted between different devices. I find that navigation is an important part of a web site and look into different methods of handling navigation on mobile devices. By analyzing different techniques and looking into what content is going to be adjusted a solution is proposed where the navigation is adjusted in a responsive design. The design is converted into a SharePoint masterpage and then fixed using stylesheets and JavaScript. The solution works on a web site with a complex site structure since it focuses on how to adjust the navigation.

La mia esperienza con Microsoft SharePoint ha inizio durante il tirocinio svolto presso una famosa azienda bolognese tra fine settembre e metà novembre 2014. Durante questi due mesi ho avuto il piacere di confrontarmi con questa piattaforma e di studiarla allo scopo di carpire quali possano essere i vantaggi e gli svantaggi per un'impresa una volta che decidesse di investire su di essa. La decisione di scrivere una tesi su SharePoint e di aumentare la mia conoscenza su di esso, ha preso piede dentro di me in seguito allo sviluppo di una piccola applicazione d'esempio. Infatti in sole due settimane e senza scrivere una riga di codice, se non qualche piccolo script di css, sono stato in grado di realizzare un piccolo gestionale per uno studio di rappresentanza di abbigliamento. Grazie alla realizzazione di questo applicato ho potuto riscontrare l'effettiva forza del tool. Difatti, SharePoint, possiede un livello d'astrazione così elevato da offrire una o più soluzioni predefinite ad una vasta gamma di problemi di business, riducendo conseguentemente i tempi ed i costi di sviluppo. A questa motivazione si è aggiunta anche quella derivante dal fatto che la piattaforma viene usata da molte realtà aziendali di elevata importanza. A tal proposito una di queste mi ha concesso l'autorizzazione a sottoporle un'intervista.

Inom ett företag eller en organisation finns det stor nytta av intranät som ett arbetsverktyg för att kunna dela information. Ett välfungerat intranät bidrar till ett bättre informationsflöde och ett effektivare samarbete. SharePoint är en plattform för intranät med interaktiva funktioner. Omnia är ett ramverk anpassad för Microsofts SharePoint 2013.I detta arbete undersöks hur Omnia fungerar som ett ramverk och vad produkten lämpar sig för. Omnia ramverket utvärderades noggrant och en oberoende bedömning utfördes under examensarbetet. Utvärderingen var baserad på vetenskapliga undersökningar som byggde på den kvalitativa och kvantitativa forskningsmetodiken. Utvärderingens huvudområden baserades på systemets prestanda, skalbarhet, arkitektur och funktionalitet. En testprototyp utvecklades under arbetets gång genom Omnia i from av en webbaserad applikation.Ramverket Omnia var lämplig för utveckling av interaktiva webbaserade applikationer för intranät i SharePoint. Dock saknade den färdig dokumentation/API, vilket gjorde utvecklingsprocessen mer avancerad. Lösningsarkitekturen för systemet uppfyllde kraven för skalbara system, eftersom den baserades på lagerarkitektur. Systemet hade även bra prestanda, dock försämrades den efter att antalet användare översteg ettusen. Funktionaliteten testades med hjälp av två olika tester, vilket visade att produkten är lämplig för att användas i intranät.<br>The functionality was tested by two different tests, which showed that the product is suitable for usage in the intranet within a company or an organization, there are great benefits from using intranet as a tool for sharing of information. A good intranet contributes to a better flow of information and effective cooperation. SharePoint is a platform for intranet with interactive features, it makes the job easier for staff and even the company. The framework Omnia is a solution designed for Microsoft SharePoint 2013.This essay evaluates how Omnia acts as a framework and what the product is suitable for. Omnia framework evaluates carefully and is an independent assessment carried during this essay. The evaluation is based on scientific studies which are based on the qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The evaluator's main areas are based on system performance, scalability, architecture and functionality. A test prototype develops during the process in the form of an employee vacation request application by the development framework Omnia.The framework Omnia is considered to be suitable for the development of interactive web-based applications for SharePoint. The architecture for the system meets the requirements for scalable systems because it is based on the tier architecture. The system also has good performance but it needs to be improved if the number of users exceeds one thousand. The functionality of this product is quite suitable for the system's usage.

Abstract:
In SharePoint 2013, Microsoft added a social networking function in the personal sites (My Site) of a user. In this version, a personal news feed has been added which shows events regarding subjects the user follows, such as document changes, user updates, tagged posts, and site activities. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate whether or not it is possible to extend the news feed function by adding an independent component as part of My Site, to allow users to follow corporate news by choosing their categories of interests. A prototype of the component was implemented and it met most of the objectives stated in the thesis. It is added to the default page of the user’s My Site as a web part and it is able to retrieve and display news that matches the user’s subscription. Although the web part still needs improvements in both functionality and design, it still confirms that it is possible to extend the current My Site news feed with such a component. Since the students working on this thesis had no prior knowledge of SharePoint or .NET development, the project brought new challenges, as the students needed to learn how to work in a SharePoint environment and to learn to use Microsoft Visual Studio for .NET development.<br>Microsoft har i SharePoint 2013 förbättrat användarnas personliga sidor (My Site) genom att sammankoppla dem i ett socialt nätverk. I förbättringen har ett personligt nyhetsflöde som visar händelser som användaren följer tillagts. Denna rapport avser att undersöka möjligheten att utöka det personliga nyhetsflödet med att lägga till en oberoende komponent i My Site. Komponenten ska tillåta användarna att prenumerera på företagsnyheter genom att välja bland olika nyhetskategorier. En prototyp av komponenten implementerades och resultatet uppfyllde de flesta kraven som ställdes i början av arbetet. Komponenten har lagts till i användarens My Site som en webb del och hämtar automatiskt de senaste företagsnyheterna som matchar användarens prenumeration. Den utvecklade prototypen kan förbättras både i funktion och design, men har uppfyllt behovet för denna rapport som avser att undersöka möjligheten att utöka det personliga nyhetsflödet i My Site med en sådan komponent. Eftersom projektmedlemmarna saknade förkunskaper i SharePoint och .NET utveckling innebar projektet nya utmaningar. Studenterna lärde sig att arbeta i SharePoint miljö samt i Microsoft Visual Studio för .NET utveckling.

Questo lavoro di tesi nasce dall’opportunità di un tirocinio della durata di sei mesi presso Umbra Cuscinetti S.p.A., importante azienda leader nel settore aeronautico e industriale per la realizzazione di Cuscinetti a sfera, Viti a ricircolo di sfere e Attuatori Elettromeccanici (EMA). L’ambito di riferimento è quello del Processo di Sviluppo Nuovo Prodotto per la linea di Business EMA. La linea ha completato la fase “pionieristica” che ne ha segnato l’ingresso in un nuovo settore industriale e, oggi, ha la necessità di procedere ad una razionalizzazione delle proprie attività allo scopo di supportare al meglio i programmi di sviluppo. I prodotti della linea presentano un elevato grado di innovazione e non essendo standardizzati, richiedono una gestione oculata in tutti gli aspetti di costo, tempo e qualità. I progetti finora intrapresi non hanno soddisfatto appieno le aspettative per questa linea, le cui potenzialità sono molto elevate; da qui la necessità di una riprogettazione di tutto il processo. L’analisi è stata condotta mediante la metodologia DMAIC e prevede come obiettivo l’inserimento del Project Management come nuova metodologia di gestione del processo.

Microsoft SharePoint 2013 är en plattform som är väldigt populär för utveckling av intranät. Möjligheterna för kommunikation inom en organisation bidrar till större och bättre informationsflöde inom organisationen samt leder till effektivare arbete inom organisationen. Microsoft Sharepoint 2013 är alltså ett intranät som blir ett centrum att vistas på samt där man träffar sina kollegor för att dela information och mycket mer. Detta examensarbete utgår från Microsofts välkända intranät Sharepoint 2013. Målet med examensarbetet har varit att skapa ett ärendehanteringssystem utifrån företaget Precio Systemutveckling AB:s beställning samt kravspecifikation . Utvecklingen har baserats på ”The great new app model” som under början på detta år (2013) introducerades utav Microsoft i den senaste versionen av Sharepoint: Sharepoint 2013. Det finns flera olika utvecklingsmetoder för att utveckla i appmodellen. Efter en utförd förstudie valdes ”Provider hosted app”, vilket innebär att ärendehanteringssystemet skall utvecklas samt köras på en server som företaget ansvarar över. Då appmodellen är relativt ny så har det under projektets gång uppstått utmaningar som varit riktigt kluriga att lösa på grund av att man inte lyckats finna relevanta källor med förklaring på de olika problem som uppstod. Utmaningarna har ändå lösts med hjälp av den information som idag finns samt med stöd ifrån seniora Sharepoint utvecklare. Resultatet av detta projekt blev ett ärendehanteringssystem som levererats till företaget samt som eventuellt kommer att börja användas inom kort. Förstudien kring appmodellen har även lett till ökade kunskaper kring hur appar i Sharepoint fungerar samt dess styrkor och svagheter.<br>This project is about apps in Microsoft Sharepoint 2013. We are two students that will during this thesis create a task management system for the company Precio Systemutveckling AB. We will use the great new app model that is a way to develop Sharepoint apps. The result of this project is a task management system that the company can use to keep track of their tasks.

Abstract:
SharePoint är ett stort content- och managament-system som många företag använder sig av. I detta kan mallar specificeras för olika dokumenttyper (kallade content types), som underlättar skapandet av nya dokument för slutanvändaren. Systemet för mallarna blir dock snabbt omständligt och ohanterligt när antalet mallar företaget använder sig av växer. I detta examensarbete undersöks en lösning till problemet med mallarna, som finns tillgänglig på Microsofts Codeplex-site, där projekt under open-source licens kan laddas upp för allmänheten. Under arbetet undersöktes denna lösning djupare och vidareutvecklades för att i slutet av arbetet kunna levereras i form av en prototyp som HOW Solutions kunde använda sig av i framtida projekt. Slutresultatet blev en prototyp som bygger vidare på den tidigare lösningen och som tillåter användaren att specificera en mall-hubb, i form av en site-samling med bibliotek som kan förse andra bibliotek med mallar. Under projektet blev också en annan vidareutveckling av programmet funnen, som visar stor potential och som bör tittas närmare på.<br>SharePoint is a large content and management system that is used by a vast number of businesses. Templates can be specified for different types of documents (called content types), which simplifies the creating of new documents for the end user. However, the system by which this is done today quickly becomes cumbersome and unmanageable when the number of templates that a business uses increases. In this thesis a solution to the problem is examined which is available on the Microsoft Codeplex site, a site for hosting open source projects. During the project the solution was examined in greater detail, and further developed into a prototype that HOW Solutions could use in future projects. The final result was a prototype that builds on the earlier solution which allows the user to specify a template hub, which is a site collection with libraries that supplies other libraries with templates. During the project another solution, which builds on the same solution, was found. It shows great promise and requires further investigation.

<p>I have been studied Microsoft SharePoint on behalf of Prevas in Karlstad.</p><p>The purpose of my work was to see if Microsoft SharePoint was what Prevas wanted as a replacement for the existing intranet, which they are not satisfied with today.</p><p>My work was a kind of foundation for Prevas so they could make a decision in this matter.</p><p>The work began with installing SharePoint at one single server at Prevas. We used a virtual technology (VMware) at the installation, which can be described as that we created two “miniservers” in a bigger server, one for SharePoint and the other for storing the information. This kind of technology is strongly advancing. The main work consisted of setting up the structure for the navigation and designing both the portal and the local homepage for Prevas Karlstad. The inbuilt functions which were already setup from the supplier were tested by simulating different scenarios.</p><p>The result of my work was a test version for how it looks like if the existing intranet will be replaced with Microsoft SharePoint.</p>

The main goal of this final thesis "Internal information system solution design in Holmes Place company" (Information requirenment solution in the company, Holmes Place) is the analysis of processes in Holmes Place and a proposal for a solution to the identified information requirements via implementation of an intranet. The analysis of the current situation in the company has been performed by identification of the Weaknesses and Strengths of the company using the methodology of SWOT analysis; the effective solutions to identified weaknesses are described in the later chapters of this thesis. The result of the analysis indicates that the most critical issue in all departments (Sales, Marketing, IT, Studio management etc.) of the company is a deficient communication structure particularly between internal and external processes. Implementation of an enterprise intranet which would allow the sharing of documents and information has been chosen as the optimal solution for this problem. Drawing from the work experience and current employment of the author, the intranet selected is Microsoft SharePoint 2013. The implementation and structure of MS SharePoint 2013 has been based on theoretical resources focused on Information requirenment, transformation points and data objects. In the practical part of this thesis, the author has focused on the functionality of the application and the specific benefits for the company. As a result, this analysis represents materials which can be used by the management of the company as a final specification of functionalities. Another important condition of implementation is security of information and risk minimisation. The conclusion and recommendations reached will provide Holmes Place with the benefits of efficiency improvement and management optimisation. Thanks to the improved internal communication between employees, the Information requirenment inside all company departments within the Czech Republic and abroad will be fulfilled.

Today's world is globally connected by various IT or ICT technologies. There is a plenty of information around the world. People that are able to work effectively with the information have really big advantage. This is mainly the reason why many products are being made only with one purpose -- to make this process more effective, easier and faster. One of them is Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. The work is all about this product and its implementation into a small company. An introduction discusses basic reasons that can lead to implement SharePoint. The first logical part of the work describes functionality of the portal and is divided into six groups of functions. For better illustration, there are also examples based on real scenarios. The second part of the text focuses on individual phases of the process of implementation of SharePoint Server 2010 into the company and it also includes an example of real installation. The last part of the work is focused on design of the project collaboration web for the specific company. In individual chapters, the reader gradually learns about the possibilities of practical use of SharePoint functionality and also about the implementation of this software into the company environment. In both parts author uses his practical experience which he gained by working with the technology in a real environment.

In current BI projects, the main emphasis is not put on the process of working with data anymore. The main focus is on working with information -- on technologies and applications that enable to put the data into context and that make possible for the users to get access to information which they use during a decision process. The theme of the thesis is the analysis of possible ways the portal technologies that are incorporated in portal products can be used for working with information from BI systems. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the possibilities of enterprise portal from the viewpoint of its usefulness as a part of company's BI solution. Another objective is to evaluate the situation of the portal products market and to analyze the potentialities of the Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 portal product. The thesis is divided into two logical parts. The first part contains definitions of the terms connected to BI and enterprise portals. It also deals with general evaluation of the potentialities of portal technologies for BI and with evaluation of the portal products market situation. The second part focuses on Sharepoint 2010 -- the latest portal product from Microsoft. This part contains Sharepoint 2010 functionality evaluation considering the individual versions of this product. Further, the position of Sharepoint 2010 in Microsoft's current BI strategy is analyzed. The potentialities of the product as a part of Microsoft BI solution are evaluated. A company that considers buying a portal product can use the thesis as a source of general information about portal technologies and their usefulness in a company's BI. The thesis also offers up-to-date information about the current situation of the portal products' market. If the company considers buying Sharepoint 2010 portal product, the thesis is a source of detailed information which can contribute to a quick and high-quality decision on the suitability and availability of this solution.

This thesis deals with the issue of the project management, project portfolio management and environment settings for the management and portfolio analysis in a fictional organization. In the theoretical introduction there is outlined the situation of the education of the project portfolio management at universities in the Czech Republic, Europe and worldwide, in summary form of founded courses that deal with this issue. Some basic principles of PMI methodology follow to introduce the reader to the project and portfolio management. As a practical part of this thesis there has been project management solution software implemented as a support for the portfolio management education. Microsoft Project 2010 has been selected for this purpose. This part of the thesis guides reader through practical topics like how to set up the whole environment including all utilities and contains a description of services settings. As example there were also sample roles and resources of the company set up, which were subsequently assigned to fictional projects so that the business portfolio analysis based on set of business goals and prioritization of individual projects could have been performed. The contribution of this work can be found mainly in the possibility of portfolio management education and training by using one of the leading software tool that are successfully implemented in a real production environment, and to try out the various acts and practices and also to clarify the various processes in the context of specific projects within the portfolio. Prepared fictional organization and sample data can be especially used as a model for handling various assignments in the upcoming educational courses at VŠE.

Ipendo Systems in Linköping, Sweden, is a small IT consulting firm developing among other things custom portal applications based on Microsoft Sharepoint 2010. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether the test tools TestComplete and LoadComplete provide sufficient compatibility for functional and non-functional testing of Ipendo Systems’ Sharepoint based applications, as well as design testing related activities to be incorporated into their existing software development framework. A test process maturity framework was chosen and applied for the design of the testing activities, while the test tool investigation resulted in guidelines on how to apply the tools effectively and circumvent any issues discovered.

Growing volumes of the mobile services has caused a need to expand the mobile service employment opportunities in the Internet portals. Today’s portals, created using the means, offered by software manufacturers, employ exclusively the mobile Internet service, thanks to which the users can see and manage the necessary information and process of the portal at any time and from anywhere. The problem is related with the fact that mobile Internet services are still expensive in Lithuania. Therefore one should look for cheaper ways to reach and manage portal information. In order to solve this problem one can consider the SMS and MMS message sending, suggested by mobile technologies. Basic aim of the work is to create an entertainment portal, rendering the user both various Internet entertainments (e.g. Internet acquaintances, games), and mobile entertainment (e.g. sending messages, logos, melodies, animations and games for mobile phone) as well as a wide range of mobile services to be used to obtain and to manage the portal information. After various electronic forms are available, there are also the needs of implementing the workflow behind all these forms. Thus how to design a large number of electronic forms and their workflows becomes an important question. The purpose of this research is to discuss how we can establish a reusable process that can be used to implement a large number of workflows so as to cut that the amount of time and cost significantly. The environment that we will use to implement workflow is the collaboration platform provided by Microsoft SharePoint Server. Since it has a complete list of functionalities; e.g, it is easy to create lists and forms and it is also equipped with built-in workflow capabilities, it can cut down cost effectively. Because most enterprises have many different kinds of forms, there are also many different kind of workflows. In the following research, we will first establish a workflow template. Then extend the template to generate new ones.

Isto colocou-me em contacto com diferentes realidades empresariais, diferentes formas de trabalhar e várias tecnologias diferentes. O projeto principal no qual estive envolvido, e que dá o título a este documento, sofreu algumas paragens o que fez com que fosse envolvido pontualmente noutros projetos da equipa onde estive inserido, em especial no projeto NetworX onde acabei por ter um grande envolvimento e que foi uma grande mais-valia na minha formação até à data. O projeto uBPM centra-se no desenvolvimento de uma solução de gestão de processos de negócio utilizando como base o SharePoint e o Skelta. Com a crescente presença da tecnologia no dia-a-dia das organizações, procuram-se novas formas de a utilizar para aumentar a eficiência de diversos processos de negócio que, até à data, eram realizados sem recorrer a meios informáticos. Os sistemas de gestão de processos de negócio visam desmaterializar processos ‘em papel’, informatizando-os e tornando-os mais eficientes, práticos e flexíveis. Com esta modernização visa-se aumentar a produtividade das organizações, não sendo necessários tantos recursos humanos para a realização de processos simples, sendo grande parte desse sistema informatizado. Na framework uBPM, o SharePoint servirá como base ao desenvolvimento do Portal intranet e será a base da gestão documental, existindo para isso uma biblioteca SharePoint onde serão armazenados os vários processos capa, processos e registos criados assim como os documentos associados a estes. O Skelta será o motor de gestão de workflows e irá disponibilizar ao utilizador uma série de funcionalidades como a gestão das tramitações em curso, alertas e, para um utilizador avançado, ferramentas que permitem desenvolver workflows e formulários de forma a responder às necessidades específicas da organização. O projeto NetworX, desenvolvido em SharePoint 2013, foi pensado de forma a transformar a forma como os colaboradores da empresa trabalham, através da introdução de novas ferramentas de comunicação, armazenamento, gestão e partilha de documentos e informação. Todas estas ferramentas estão integradas entre si disponibilizando uma experiência de utilização unificada e consistente.<br>During this internship I had the opportunity to participate in different projects of the Unisys Portals and Collaboration team. This allowed me to work with different business realities, different ways of working and different technologies. The main project I was involved on, that originated this document, suffered a few breaks, which led to my involvement on other projects of the team I was inserted in, especially in the NetworX project, which was a big influence on my academic and professional education. The goal of the uBPM project is to develop a business process management solution utilizing SharePoint and Skelta as a foundation. With the increasing presence of technology in organizations, there has been an increasing focus in how it can increase the efficiency of different business processes that have not been computerized. The Business Process Management systems aim to use technology to handle the flow and management of the different business processes, increasing their effectiveness, efficiency and flexibility. With this, BPM aims to improve the productivity of the organizations, decreasing the human resources needed to handle the different business processes in the organization. In the uBPM framework, SharePoint is the foundation of the intranet portal and the document management system will be based on a SharePoint library that will hold the different master processes, processes, records and documents that are created. Skelta will be the workflow engine and it will provide different features to the end user, such as the management of the running workflows, alerts and, for the advanced user, a couple of tools that allow the development of new workflows and forms to answer the specific needs of that organization. The goal of the NetworX project was to shift the way partners work in the company, by introducing different communication, storage, management and document and information sharing tools. These tools are integrated so they offer a unified and consistent user experience.

Os problemas mais comuns são a falta de organização e controlo sobre a partilha de informação e o mau manuseamento de dados e informações. Nos dias de hoje, existem diversas tecnologias para colmatar estes problemas oferecendo soluções e funcionalidades out-of-the-box que nem sempre coincidem com os requisitos de todas as empresas. Neste relatório de estágio são descritas duas soluções produzidas, com recurso às tecnologias web, para adicionar funcionalidades ao Sharepoint e desta forma satisfazer os requisitos do cliente. As funcionalidades foram adicionadas através da criação de páginas web e aplicação de estilos e lógica de negócio às mesmas. A primeira solução tem como objetivo permitir que os colaboradores do cliente reportem as suas horas. A segunda solução tem como objetivo administrar formação aos colaboradores através de e-learning. As soluções foram desenvolvidas sobre tecnologias Microsoft, em especial o Sharepoint online na solução de reporte de horas e o Sharepoint online e on-premises na solução de e-learning. A computação na nuvem permite reduzir os custos de produção de software, pois todos os custos de gestão e manutenção de infraestruturas são geridos por empresas especializadas. No entanto, certas empresas não estão totalmente preparadas para fazer a passagem completa das suas infraestruturas para a nuvem, mesmo quando esta tecnologia apresenta vantagens muito fortes para impulsionar os seus negócios. E estes projetos para o mesmo cliente são exemplo disso.<br>Companies with many people in their structure often have problems of collaboration between workers. The most common problems are lack of organization and control over shared information and poor handling of data and information. Today, there are several technologies to address these issues by offering out-of-the-box solutions and functionalities that do not always match the requirements of each business. In this internship report, two solutions are described, using web technologies to add functionality to Sharepoint and so satisfy the client's requirements. The features were added through the creation of web pages and application of styles and business logic to them. The first solution is to allow the client's employees to report their hours. The second solution aims to train employees through e-learning. The solutions were developed on Microsoft technologies, Sharepoint online in the time-reporting solution and online Sharepoint and on-premises in the e-learning solution. Although cloud computing can reduce software production costs, because all infrastructure management and maintenance costs are managed by specialized companies, certain companies are not fully prepared to pass their infrastructures to the cloud, even though this technology has very strong advantages to boost their business. And these projects for the same client are examples of this.

Contudo, hoje em dia, muitas delas ainda não entenderam o conceito e a importância desta conduta na aplicação do seu trabalho e consequentemente não a implementaram de modo tecnológico. Este documento descreve um trabalho autónomo de natureza profissionalizante realizado ao longo de nove meses de estágio na empresa multinacional Unisys Portugal, no âmbito da disciplina de Projeto de Engenharia Informática, onde o tema geral retratado foi exatamente o BPM. Aqui é dada uma clara descrição sobre BPM, a sua definição, evolução e benefícios para os negócios de uma empresa, as motivações e objetivos que levaram à escolha e investigação nesta área. São também apresentadas as várias ferramentas e tecnologias utilizadas no trabalho desenvolvido, tais como SharePoint, Skelta BPM.Net, Nintex Workflow, SharePoint Designer e InfoPath, assim como uma descrição pormenorizada dos projetos envolvidos e seus resultados. Dos projetos envolvidos, o principal denomina-se uBPM e centra-se no desenvolvimento de uma solução de Gestão Documental e desmaterialização de processos. This document describes an independent work of professional nature performed over a nine-month internship in multinational Unisys Portugal, within the discipline of Computer Engineering Project, where the general theme was BPM. Here, it’s given a clear description about BPM, including its definition, evolution and business benefits within a corporation, motivations and objectives that led to choice and research within this area. Here are also introduced the multiple tools and technologies used in this work, such as SharePoint, Skelta BPM.Net, Nintex Workflow, SharePoint Designer and InfoPath, as well as a detailed description of the projects involved and its results. Of all the projects involved, the main one it’s called uBPM, and it’s focused in the development of a solution to Documental Management and process dematerialization. In the end, it’s shown the reality of the current market in this area, a short self-assessment of the work developed and also the future work to accomplish.

Das Studentensymposium der Fakultät für Informatik der TU Chemnitz richtet sich an alle Studierende und Doktoranden der Informatik sowie angrenzender Disziplinen mit Schwerpunkt Informatik aus dem Raum Chemnitz. Das Symposium hat das Ziel, den Studierenden eine Plattform zu geben, ihre Projekte, Studienarbeiten und Forschungsvorhaben vorzustellen. Organizations typically have a reason for deciding to implement a particular business application, for example an Enterprise Resources Planning or a Human Resources management system. The reasons run the entire gamut from wanting to be the first (thus gaining a competitive edge) to playing catch-up (herd mentality perhaps) if everyone is deploying the solution. In between these extremes, there are organizations which take a technology agnostic view and thus set out to garner a good understanding of business challenges, opportunities, threats and risks to mitigate before seeking to deploy a particular solution. The objective of this study was to understand the business drivers and thought processes that the University of KwaZulu-Natal followed in selecting Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 technology. It was also the objective of the study to understand the deployment model chosen as well as understanding the attendant corporate governance put in place as well as the usage patterns once operational. The study followed a qualitative research format primarily using case study as the research design. Qualitative research was chosen because it is amenable to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data that cannot be easily or meaningfully quantified and summarized in the form of numbers. The case study research design was chosen because it allows the researcher to focus on one instance of a ‘thing’ to be investigated which then becomes the subject of an in-depth study using interviews and observation as a primary tool for data generation. A major finding of the study was that the University of KwaZulu-Natal followed an organic bottom-up approach which typically starts by providing collaborative sites and, as users find values in these sites, the implementation grows organically over a period of time. Another major finding was the absence of a formal documented corporate governance model that would include a SharePoint Delivery Plan for the organization. Consequently, of the four colleges within the university, only one college uses SharePoint technology. Desenvolve os passos realizados na criação da intranet ao longo do projeto de estágio na empresa Unipartner IT Services S. A, que em futuras referências neste relatório será designada apenas como Unipartner. Será destacada a metodologia Agile que foi a metodologia utilizada na realização do projeto, assim como a motivação, âmbito e o propósito do mesmo. This report is composed of several chapters that define the entire process inherent to the developed project, relating them in a way to chain the tools used and the functionalities developed. It describes the steps taken in the creation of the intranet throughout the internship project in the company Unipartner IT Services S. A, which in future references in this report will be designated only as Unipartner. The Agile methodology, which was the chosen methodology for this project, will also be reffered as well as the motivation, scope and purpose of the project. The most important concepts and the technologies covered during the project as well as the Microsoft tools that were used by decision of the client of Unipartner, among which the technology SharePoint and the tool Powell 365 will be highlighted in this report. Finally and most importantly the work done by the student in this reports project, as well as a discussion chapter on the developments carried out in the project will be presented. This report was written based on the new spelling agreement.
